Solidddddd sandwich spot. Visiting Atlanta and needed a snack. Friend said it's her fav sandwich spot in the area and I see why. I was debating between the Brisky Business and Hambo. They have table tennis in the back and they usually have a movie playing on the wall. They also have a patio. I typically visit after eating at a nearby restaurant in downtown Decatur. I believe their cocktail menu is seasonal. The menu is composed of snacks, sandwiches and drinks. Even if you're not hungry, get the popcorn. It's seriously delicious. It's cheddar and some other type of seasoning. My friend and I recently ordered multiple bowls while enjoying cocktails. Love this place! Although they're not open as late as they used to be since the pandemic, it's still a great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. The "world famous whisky coke slushie" is great! The perfect quick bite/lunch spot. I got the Limp Brist and it was really good. The size of the sandwich was a little bit bigger than a slider which is perfect if you're not incredibly hungry. You ever have food that just slaps? This is that place. Came across it via a Reel. I already love sandwiches in the first place, so I said sure, let's give it a go, but what I got was so much more than what I was expecting. I thought maybe someone just made it a little special, but then I destroyed it and then proceeded to take a bite of the Little Havana and boom, take me to freaking flavor town. My gf got, what I found out is called fresno onion jam, and I dipped my sandwich in it, not knowing what to expect, if the sandwich is flavor town, I don't know what plain of existence the jam took me to, but I was there! But wait, there's more, you have to absolutely have to try the chocolate chip cookie with sea salt. For $2 this cookie is huge, but the smell, texture, taste of it. Boy, I could have ate 10 cookies alone. The next day I went back and got the Hambo and Beeter sandwiches. Color me freaking shocked, but how do vegetarian sandwiches taste just as good if not better than ones with meat! They were off the chain, did I say that already? I don't care. It's been a minute since I have written a review, that's how good this place is, it forced me to write a review. I love the fact that the sandwiches are only $6. The only downside was that you cannot add meat to a sandwich. Parking is a little expensive and good luck finding a parking spot if you go on a Saturday. Best thing to do is order online, because they do not take orders over the phone, and either park and eat or run inside real quick and get your food. I really am looking forward to going back again. Victory is a great place for some drinks and snacks! They have well priced creative sandwiches that are super delicious. My personal favorite sandwich is the Little Havana. It is basically a mini Cuban Sammy. This location is right in Downtown Decatur, has a decent sized inside and outside patio. They have a full bar with great drink specials. (The ol one- two is a fav to order. It's a high life and shot of mellow corn for $7. And lastly they have Whiskey Coke Slushies. Unfortunately recently, I haven't had the best encounters with the staff. We went with a group of friends recently and the waiter was oddly rude to me. At first I thought I was just imagining it but my friends agreed as well. I promise, I am a kind person. Another annoying thing, they put everything on one tab. They aren't willing to split it up. It's literally 2022. Come on now. And lastly, Soooo silly, but I have to share. The other thing that recently left a bad taste in my mouth at this location is they aren't willing to give you a lime wedge with your Tecate. Even when requested. They started putting lime juice in their tecates because apparently "they would find limes everywhere" and "limes are expensive". I get that, but I feel as if in an area like Decatur(technically anywhere) if someone kindly asks for a lime ledge bc they honestly don't like the idea of lime juice being poured in, they shouldn't have to feel terrible about it. And it's extremely weird knowing my friend can order a Diet Coke w/ a lime wedge and receive a lime wedge but I can't order a tecate w/ a lime wedge. Very odd, Lol. I was searching Yelp for a sandwich or burger place in my area and they came up. Enter deliciousness. I ordered three sandwiches ToGo for me and a couple of friends. The Tea bird, pulled pork & I had the weed eater. They also packed us a large box of cheddar garlic popcorn. It was so good I couldn't stop eating it. My side was the ramen salad. It had a really good savory & nutty flavor that I devoured in minutes lol. We all liked our sandwiches very much. While I waited for the order, I had a spiked soda (Paloma). Wow! It was on point too! Victory has found a way to make the humble sandwich cool again. Is it their adorable, miniature size? Maybe it's the funky ingredient combos? Or perhaps it's their unique names and pairings that keep their menu approachable, but fun. Parking can be a challenge in this area - the parking lot immediately beside Victory is a pay lot and is $$. If you're willing to hunt for a parallel spot, there are plenty to be had, if you happen to get lucky! They have ample seating, but just note that almost half of that is located outside, so if you are planning to go around dinner time, keep that in mind! You order at the counter and will love that their menu is quite abbreviated - if you go often enough, you'll likely single out a few favorites (Tea Bird and Weed Eater over here puh-lease) and not even need to glance at the menu. BUT - you should keep an eye on it, as their sandwiches do change! Also, get the popcorn, don't think, just do it. It's finger licking good and will have you wanting to scrape the scraps off the bowl when you are done. Manners and etiquette, be damned!! Don't sleep on their cocktails - the whiskey coke slushie is a cult favorite. I've never ordered a cocktail here that I didn't immediately want a second order of. Atmosphere It wasn't too busy when we arrived around 1 p.m. We only went for lunch but the inside looks like a great place to hangout and have a drink or two. It's nice that they had a open patio where you could sit anywhere. Big benches so you can spread out as needed. It's a casual place for a quick lunch. Food I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of ramen. It was so tasty! I would highly recommend getting this or the tbird! The ramen is a cold side dish and is on the dryer end but it was still very good and well seasoned. We also had a side of hummus and it was to die for. It was soooo good! Smooth and well seasoned. The pita chips that came with it was a nice vehicle to scoop up the hummus. But what I can't forget is the fresh baked cookies. Sad that I didn't get a picture of it but it was the size of my hand. If anything, pick up a cookie! It was so good, slightly chew outside, gooey inside with chocolate melted bc of the hot summer heat. It has been far too long since we've visited Victory, and I'm so glad friends suggested this for dinner the other night. I just love the casual atmosphere and chill vibe to get together with friends and have some sandwiches and drinks. I tried the pizza party and okie dokie sandwiches and enjoyed both of them thoroughly. The pimento dip we had as an appetizer was great with the bacon jam it came with. My favorite is the veggie one with in-house made pastrami beets (you read that correctly) and kimchi a d pickled cucumbers on marbled rye. It comes with home made chips. I usually get it with a JD and coke slushie (you read that correctly too) or a Paloma since I'm a sucker for grapefruit. I honestly want to give 5 stars, it was super bummed to learn that the chips only come with the sandwich when dining in. Got into town on Thursday last week and my daughter took us here for lunch. We had been here on our last visit to Decatur for drinks before having dinner. So my daughter tells us that the sandwiches are a bit smaller so you can order 2 if you want. And the prices are right for that too. So I decided on the Briskey Business and was still looking when my wife pointed out the Tea Bird. Can't believe I missed the (SPICY) part. So I ordered one of those too. They were both so good. I like! I am a bit of a fan of this spot! I love the location and the vibe! I recently met a friend for a late dinner/snacks/drinks or whatever you want to call it-lol ... We ended up ordering 3 sandwiches to share just to try them out, they were small but quite yummy, my fav is the pulled pork sandwich and my second fav is the mile high sandwich. We also had drinks, I order the special for that day which was something on the lines of a long island tea, it was nice, topped with mint and lemon. This is a great meet up spot, dark with full bar, and spacious, my only complaint is that they made us wear the masks until the food came out, which makes absolutely no sense to me. We came to eat & drink, mask has to come off to do that- I understand that things are different, but it has to make sense. Who doesn't love Victory? Their mini sandwiches are the best especially the tea bird. It has a little bit of heat to make it interesting without requiring Tums afterwards. I tried the banh appetite for destruction which was their take on a banhmi and it was quite delicious on their ciabatta bun. This place is the best. My husband and I came here to wait after putting our names on the wait list at SOS. We ended up just having drinks here at the bar since we were having a great conversation with one of the bartenders (they're all awesome by the way!)
