Victrola is my go-to coffee shop. The staff are friendly without being overbearing, the space is great for meeting friends and getting work done, and the coffee is absolutely delightful. Their coffee is consistent, and the baritas know what they are doing! Their london fog is also one of the best in town. The baked goods are nicely sized, and they can heat up sandwiches for you. And the art on the wall gets rotated, so you have something new to check out every so often. When I'm out and about, this is one of the places you can usually find me at. read more

I came to Victrola with a friend to study, and it's definitely a good place to get work done! Theres tons of seating and even a back conference looking room. We arrived around 1pm on a Monday and I liked that there was a constant flow of people. I ordered a 12oz iced latte and added vanilla and honey syrup! It was a bit expensive ($7.17) but it tasted really good. If I had to compare it to another drink, it reminded me of the bottle of Starbucks vanilla frappe you can buy at the grocery store. It leaned on the sweet side and didn't taste like coffee but that's the kind of drinks I go for!! At the table we were sitting at, the two outlets under the booth didn't work. Luckily, there's a good amount of outlets around the cafe and I was able to charge my laptop. There's open wifi and it worked well! All in all it's a good place to chat or study and I like the quiet neighborhood it's located in. read more

Well they gutted the place and took away most of the unique coolness of the place minus the Art Deco style counter top and railings. Otherwise you might as well as go to Starbucks - no more cool bake goods - no more cool staff - more like impersonal staff who could not care and were obviously shocked when I mentioned they are taking the place in a direction that made it less appetizing to walk out or drive out of my way for when I am in Seattle. I think they only cater to the locals - was not offer a real mug or cup - just a paper cup and sent on my way -- felt unwelcome by the staff and the situation. When I mentioned the lack of a mug I went out front and sat and drank my quickly cooling mocha -- first two sips were good - so at least the coffee may still be good if your lucky enough to be treated to mug that will hold the heat. Staff gives off a "too cool for you" vibe. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing-- depends on what you're looking for out of a coffee shop, I personally don't find it super welcoming. Service was quick, no nonsense. I saw how they prepared my drink and looks like the barista takes pride in his craft. I came pretty early and it wasn't busy. A couple tables with people on their laptops and phones. The tomato pesto sandwich was good, I like the burst of tomato flavor and it wasn't over powered by the flavor or pesto. read more

This place has plenty of seating so a good place to wfh or study. The tables by the wall have outlets. The place is a little dim though so reading is possible. The kombucha was ok. I wouldn't get the sausage muffin again. Food and drink came out fast. Since it is cap hill, paid street parking on 15th or there is 2 hour limit neighborhood parking. I was glad when my friend and I were around the north Capitol Hill neighborhood and saw there was Victrola for the save because everyone needs to start their day with caffeine. It was solid coffee in a wonderful setting. The place wasn't too busy on a Sunday morning. In fact, it was quite inviting, with a large, well-lit space that had a ton of room for groups or individuals who may need a space for working or reading. I would easily come here to work if I lived closer. I ordered a large drip coffee, which was solid and got the job done. It's quality coffee that's finely sourced. But if drip isn't your thing, there were other options, with a handful of different syrup flavors if you wanna amp up your latte game. In addition to drinks and pastries, they also sell merchandise, like reusable bottles and coffee accessories and local artwork that's displayed on the walls! How cool is that? For a price point that high, it needs to match it with taste. Sadly it doesn't. The best way to describe it is "mid". My second time ordering a drink here and sadly still proves my initial thoughts. A spacious, airy outpost of the popular coffee spot tucked into a corner of North Cap Hill -- it's a stone's throw from tons of other bars and restaurants! Although fairly unassuming from the outside, the interior was really large and had tons of open tables! The staff here is very helpful and the orders came out quick. I stopped by to read on a weekday after work, and got a Chai Latte -- it tends to run a bit on the sweet side, but I still enjoyed it. The staff could of shifted how I felt, as they control their space, but they made it worse. They rolled their eyes and just looked at me looking at the menu. I tried to be light and ask questions about items but I got dry answers and uninterested in making a connection I saw them do with many other people in line and walking through. I ended up sitting and eating to make sure they knew I deserved the same treatment. At first the room was quite but then 3-4mins passed and back to the loud chatting and "normal" from everyone in the room. Let's regulate ALL are welcomed in your space and equal or make it clearer your a racist business please. When asking to get it for here they barked at me, took the drink and poured it in a ceramic cup and said "it's the same! I'm busy!". Asked for a refund. They refunded the wrong person. Came here to get some work done. Picked this cozy spot after reading it's great reviews. I ordered a spinach and feta croissant and a oatmilk lavender latte. The croissant was so greasy and it was hard eating it while trying to get work done and my latte seemed weak and got cold really fast. The individual at the register was also very monotone and just kind of.. there. Not really the normal vibe you get when entering a local coffee shop. It also feels like the A/C is blasting in here. I got an 8oz dirty chai before leaving because I was shivering! A different person was at the register but the vibe was the same. Being a barista myself, saw that the espresso shot the barista poured in my chai was dead and it sure tastes that way too. I wouldn't even finish it but I will because it was $8. Overpriced forsure. There are many people on their laptops getting stuff done. It is pretty loud in here though. Good study / reading atmosphere during the summer and fall months . A little under lit during the rainy winter and spring months. Good coffee (so far the only place I've found with better is Monorail) but this place is overpriced. A 12oz latte (without the tip) will run you over $8 if you have any sort of flavor, or an alternative milk. I understand rising costs for inflation, but these prices seem a little gauging if I'm honest. All in all a good place and worth the visit (they have very good chai), but I only go every once in awhile even though I live in the neighborhood because I think it is overpriced. Currently open from 6 am to 7 pm for indoor and outdoor seating with WiFi! They kindly ask that you seat no more than 2 to a table, wear your mask when not eating or drinking, and limit your stay to 1 hour. My Americano was good and came with 2 shots of espresso (as do all their espresso drinks!). The barista who took my order was efficient and friendly, but on today's visit, the barista making drinks spent 10+ minutes chit-chatting with a friend while she was making drinks. I get being friendly, but it was unprofessional, and took way too long to get my drink considering the cafe wasn't very busy at the time. I had a lovely experience studying here on a weekday morning! The Cap Hill Victrola is a cozy, spacious, clean space with plenty of tables, good lighting, tasty lattes, and friendly baristas. The background music wasn't too loud for me to focus. Arriving around 10 am (again, on a weekday) I still had plenty of tables to choose from, and was able to get a spot in the back where I could spread out with my study materials and not be distracted by other customers coming and going. I come to coffee shops primarily for the space, not the coffee (med students have low standards for their caffeine as long as it's present...), but I really enjoyed my vanilla latte that I ordered. It wasn't too sweet and had nice foam. I also thought cost (about $5.60 for a 12 oz) was on par with other flavored lattes of the same size at beloved spots like Zoka. Meandered through this section of Capitol Hill several times in recent weeks, but this time scored on street parking. One of the few stretches where it's free after 6pm (8/3/17). Nothing looked overly compelling to eat, despite a growly stomach. Just decided to read the usual urban weeklies and City Arts. Damn strong espresso. This is a classic Capitol Hill cafe, which I have been returning to for over 15 years. I love coming here anytime I visit Seattle. The coffee is excellent, and I am consistently impressed with both the taste and presentation (latte art!). The space is super cute, with interesting art on display. The interior is spacious, so there is always a place to sit and read/study/work/people watch. I have only experienced excellent customer service, including once receiving a free latte on my birthday, and recently their super friendly manager, Dylan, recommended I try their housemade vanilla syrup, which was excellent. I hope to return to this cafe for many years to come! read more
