I hopped on a Precor treadmill and tried to connect my iPhone. No luck. I asked staff on the floor if there was an app. No one knew. I went home and did a quick Google search. Precor uses the Preva app. Downloaded it. The app immediately asked for a club code. I called the Chandler location. Spoke with two people. Neither knew what I was talking about. I called two other locations. Same result. I finally spoke with an assistant manager. They checked with the general manager. Still no answer. Not a single person knew that Precor even has its own app. That alone was surprising. What happened next was worse. The assistant manager told me to call corporate. I did. The person who answered had clear attitude, no answers, and no idea who could help. I was then given the phone number for a local Precor sales rep. That is not a support experience. That is a handoff. I am writing this from two perspectives. 1) As a club member, this was frustrating and disappointing. 2)As a business consultant, this is exactly the kind of frontline failure I would escalate to ownership. You promote premium equipment, but your staff is not trained on basic features members actually use. You promote friendliness, but the experience felt indifferent, plus corporate attitude. You promote community, but new members are left to figure things out on their own. Mountainside Fitness started with smiles and towels. Somewhere along the way, the smiles stopped meaning much. (P.S. gave two stars because the physical gym is nice, equipment is good. But then again, that is the entry level expectation that every decent gym has. Customer service is the differentiator)

WOW!!! Was I pleasantly surprised when she answered each & EVERY question I had, including the costs to join, BEFORE making a commitment to come try Delta Life Fitness out! Transparency is of utmost importance to me, and Jess more than delivered, and all without my having to push! I don't know about you, but I like to know what something like this costs BEFORE trying a class. I do not care to find out I DO love it, but discover it's not in my budget, after the fact. I took my free class, signed up for the free 6wk challenge, and have been a solid member ever since! UPDATE to an earlier review posted elsewhere: I'm now 56yrs old, and 14mos into LOVING Delta Life Fitness - Gilbert, and I feel even stronger in "new and improved," review! I have NEVER been religious and consistent, at any other gym, or with any other program, in my entire adult life. Even during this pandemic, where I have been working out, at home, to Delta Life Fitness's FB posted classes! Yep, even at home, I'm still getting everything I need to stay motivated. I know if I need anything, Jess and her staff are only a phone call, email, PM, or text away! I have met so many incredible ladies who have now become close, personal friends (including the Coaches!!).This may sound "cheesy," but it's a fact, we are more like family, than just members looking to get their exercise on - to me, that's an incredible, added benefit. Honestly, I cannot begin to tell you how strongly I feel, that there is absolutely NO PLACE LIKE IT!! My first class was "hell week" and she was so patient and helped me through that work out and so many after that. I was so nervous as I never lifted weights before but she coached me through it. I started working another job and going back to school for a masters . I thought I was going to have to give it up, but there are so many classes you can attend at all different hours of the day, seven days a week! I work 2 and half jobs, go to school and there are still sessions that accommodate my schedule. It's truly amazing and perfect for busy schedules !!! Next, is coach Kat is phenomenal! She has this inspirational opening each workout that motivates you for the whole work out. She is so encouraging and is also so incredibly helpful. This gym is located in a little strip mall in Gilbert near one of the many Fry's. :) It was a little different walking into this gym since I've only ever worked out at my "home" gym location. Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed was how large the gym was. It was so spacious and the rounds were spread out. There was even room in the middle to do trainer led drills and not run into anyone. The set up for the 9rounds is all the same. You start at round 1 which is a jump rope drill and you end with round 9 which is usually some ab work drill. Another thing I noticed about this place was that the had bands all over the gym. I was going to go straight for the bands but decided to do what was written on the boards instead. I met April and she was super nice and friendly. She watched over me but not in a creepy way...more so if I didn't understand a workout that was written or if I needed some help in general. She asked me questions about my gym and I asked her some questions as well. It's a little hard to keep up a conversation while working out but we made due. We did my trainer led drill and I loved it. I was in the red rather quickly since April made me work for it but it's all good. I mean that's what I was there for anyway. After my workout, I was putting my stuff away and I noticed that they had some awesome shirts/tanks. Although, the ones that they had displayed weren't in my size so I asked if they had any in the back. Unfortunately, they only had the larger sizes but we were able to find a different one that I hadn't noticed that was in my size. I quickly bought that one. I really wanted new wraps and new gloves but they had the same offerings we do at my gym so I decided against buying new ones. My overall experience here was awesome. As a visiting member, I received the same hospitality as if I was their gym member. It was a warming and welcoming feeling. I am stronger than I was when I started and look forward to going 4x a week! It is super convenient, because there are no start times. The trainers are amazing and push me when I need it and modify exercises when requested. Thank you, 9Round, for keeping me healthy and in shape!
