This Planet Fitness is great! I don't usually go to this location, but was in the area and had some time to kill. I came by around 415pm and it wasn't too busy. There was parking available and lots of cardio machines available. They have TVs with closed captioning for entertainment This location had an upstairs area which is different, and there were elevators available. Women's and men's locker rooms were available with lockers to use (you have to bring your own lock though) and they have grab and go beverages for purchase. I will definitely come back to this gym and recommend it to others. read more

I decided to rejoin a gym after a pandemic driven six year absence. I had very positive experiences at this PF location; including ease of discontinuing and restarting my membership in the past. I did take a look at a competitor closer to my house but I did not like their layout or atmosphere. I decided to sign back up and found the PF app extremely easy to navigate. I opted to purchase a year commitment vs month to month. Doing that waived the annual fee. For a clean, safe gym with updated equipment I spent well under $300- basic membership. Returning to a purposeful, structured workout routine with equipment I am unable to have at home will help with me meet and exceed my health and fitness goals. Very pleased so far! read more

We've been traveling for the past year and a half and have visited many Planet Fitness locations--but nothing compares to our home gym in Ahwatukee. It's consistently the cleanest facility we've experienced, and the atmosphere truly stands out. The entire staff is welcoming, friendly, and always goes above and beyond. We especially want to recognize Marshall and Jess, who have been wonderful--but truly, the whole team makes this place feel special. We're so grateful to call this our home gym! read more

Wifi cannot access. Ask the front desk, she said she cannot give away the Wifi passord because the manager said so. Relaxtion Room is totally dark like haunted house and some machine cannot work. Totally disappointed. read more

New to the area and have the Black Card. This location is closest to my house n I'm glad because it's A LOT nicer then my location back in California and it was a relatively new spot. Went in at 8am and it was surprisingly empty which is great for me because I actually got time with and space to use the weights lol Building is 2 stories so the machines are very spread out, locker room is spotless and has zero foul odors. Planet fitness is a horrible gym and once you realize this it takes an act of god to cancel. Up until recently they make you physically go in to the gym and have to time it just right when there is a manger to help you cancel. I had been trying to cancel for months and have not stepped foot in that soccer mom gym but despite multiple attempts to cancel they STILL charged my account. Was just made aware that NOW they have an online cancel option which probably came from cases like mine. This gym is predatory and opportunistic and make it difficult to cancel screwing people to pay for a horrible product which i imagine is the only way they can stay afloat. read more

New social distancing: Social Fitnessing! This location does the trick. Not as exciting as some other locations I've been. They are smaller & lacking air walkers and some other equipment. If I lived in the area, I'd probably go to a larger facility. But it'll do in a pinch. read more

Great gym & the workers are nice. It's never really too busy, and 24hrs on weekdays!! A lot of machines and free weights to use plus nice machine chairs if you have the black card. Only thing is, I wish there was a hip thrust machine other than the smith machine* read more

My husband and I go to this location at least 4-5 times a week. They are always friendly at the front desk and the place is kept clean. I don't know why there is always so much hate on Planet Fitness, I haven't had any issues. The upstairs is a bit warmer because it's more confined but if you get a spot near the big fan, it's fine. I prefer to sweat more while I workout so not having the fan doesn't bother me. read more

Please fix the air conditioning, this is absolutely ridiculous. I love Planet but I'm about to cancel my membership if this isn't addressed soon. It's 113 today in Phoenix and feels like it's at least 90 in the gym. There is an unsightly swamp cooler upstairs and no fans, while downstairs there are fans but no cooler. What is my membership paying for? I understand it's independently owned but how many people need to complain before corporate steps in to save what's left of their brand. Love love this location! It's two floors and it's a great way to get your heart pumping going up the stairs to start your cardio. Upstairs is where they the black membership area which I haven't tried yet, but will then I can update my review. They have all the machines the other planet fitness have. I have gone in the morning (8ish) and evening (6ish). The morning is a lot more calm not as many people like the evening which is typical. However even going in the evening I had no trouble finding a treadmill or machine that I needed to use. Staff is friendly as well :) read more

This is a wonderful gym. The staff is spectacular and welcoming. Very organized. The atmosphere is superb. Their equipment is up to date, and I love their hydromassage equipment. Very soothing. You should definitely try them out. Gyms are gyms. They're pretty much the same. I've been in over 10 planet fitness's nationwide and this has to be the worst. The temperature in the two-story facility is always different, especially on the 2nd floor and in the summer. The equipment is lacking compared to other gyms (less machines and/or out of service). I was a member for over a year and had one billing issue but the manager was never on site so I quit. This is not a condemnation of all Planet Fitness locations but this site in particular. I happily drive 25 miles in another direction in order to avoid this place and the robotic employees who cant do anything other than scan you in. read more

The owners should be ashamed. The air conditioning has been out all summer long, and the two-story facility is being cooled by loud, inadequate portable units. They do not keep up with the Arizona summer heat and it's muggy inside. What really makes this all the worse, the A/C has been a problem each of the last 6-7 summers. Always deficient and in need of repair. The poor staff has been apologizing for this problem year after year after year after year after year... I've asked the status about every 2-3 weeks for the last four months and ALWAYS told a different story. There has always been a different cause for optimism falsely giving the members hope of a new system being imminent. This until two weeks ago when I was told they don't even have a contractor lined up yet. They should have replaced the system years ago. There's been plenty of warning. The owners have put the staff in an awful position and been 100% dishonest with their members. Lastly, the equipment was new when the gym opened about 7 yrs ago. However, it was new old stuff. Much of the cardio equipment has been changed out, but the weight machines are old models. Shame on the ownership. read more

I stopped going a few years ago because the air conditioning never worked. Thought about rejoining and went over to check it out. Air conditioning still not working and portable units are very noisy and don't cool the lower level. I know these gyms are privately owned but for whoever runs this corporation to allow this aberration to continue and ruin the brand is beyond me. This gym stole $203.39 out of my acct after I had canceled due to the fact that we had to move across the country because of the Pandemic. The manager is NEVER onsite or available to talk. The Corporate headquarters won't take responsibility. What kind of company makes you send a certified letter in 2021 when they claim to offer so many conveniences and have the available technology. Awesome workout facility, no judgment zone, everything is very clean, what planet fitness has to offer above and beyond all the other fitness facilities is there 'black card area'. With the black card pass you have unlimited access to red to bed machines (skin health and beyond), tanning (standup and lay down), water massage beds, and to ultra premium massage chairs. We went to golds gym, LA fitness and lifetime fitness... The only thing planet fitness is missing is an Olympic size swimming pool... None of the gyms in the area can offer such a comfortable atmosphere to work out in, the staff is very friendly and the folks working out are just like you! They are there for one reason to work out, not trying to hit on you or show off the guns ... to be truthfully honest it's a great place to feel good about yourself and get fit at the same time! read more

Additionally, there are no paper towels available to while down the equipment. What do they expect us to wipe it with? The first day I joined this gym, I worked out, walked to the parking lot and found my car window was smashed and my belongings were stolen. The police and I requested the security camera video as there was one right near my car that would have captured the criminals license plate as they drove away. They played the recording and it is set up to skip recording every 5 minutes and wouldn't you know...it missed recording the robbery! I was told to contact their corporate office for the full video without the 5 minute skips. Well, their corporate office told me they don't have any such video. I had my purse hidden under my front seat and the criminals immediately found it. That leads me to believe the criminal was watching me when I pulled in. I was parked in the first row of cars so it was brave of them to do this. Meanwhile, I continued my membership and always leave my purse at home now. I like the 30-min circuit and massage beds which is the only reason I stay. read more

Staff is disinterested in helping, at best. I signed up online and the guy at the counter gave me a "tour" from the desk pointing out areas of workout. The air conditioning unit in the women's locker room has been nonfunctional for over a month making it feel like the most humid 100 degree day in Florida every time I walk in! There is no scale on the premises (blows my mind). They have tootsie rolls at the front desk and pizza for members on some days, great tactic to those trying to lose weight.... I looked into planet fitness and found no classes for seniors. I have Medicare advantage that will pay for my gym membership. I ended signing up at 2 other gyms to get classes for seniors. All PF has is machines and weights not appropriate for many seniors read more

I've been a member of planet fitness for about 2 years and I would not recommend the gym overall, especially, the chandler location on 54th. My items were stolen out of my locker by someone who cut my lock. The staff had no clue what the procedure was. If it was up to them I would of walked out the club. I had to ask for them to file a report, And to call the police. A member of the staff advices that I would be compensated for the items stolen($800 worth of items) the cameras are worthless, they said they had to request the footage from their corporate office, which is total bs. I pray no life or death scenario happens at planet fitness because they will have to wait a few days to see what I can see immediately on my home security system. Furthermore, the staff member told the police a different story than they told me, this makes me think that someone working there might have stole my items. I found out another lock was cut that day as well. They said they reviewed the footage and didn't see anyone walking out with my items and they were too much people at the gym during that time. It was noon on Saturday and only about 20 men were in the gym. I was told the manager would request the footage and would follow up with me, which did not happen. I had to called the gym everyday to find out the status which was always the same, they requested the footage. My items were magically found in another locker with the lock that was cut. Ultimately, I lost $150 because the Bluetooth module only my helmet was not recovered. At the end of the day, customer service is the main reason and lack of knowledge for procedure is the reason why I cancelled my membership. Planet fitness as a company can't stop people from stealing but you can put people in management positions that care about their members and at least has the courtesy to call and follow up when something this happened. I am gladly going to EOS gym where the GM offer to put my helmet in their office or behind the desk if needed. Still said that doesn't make them liable but at least he offered. I was asked why I have a low rating in an email so I explained how the several employees seem rude and too busy for the actual clients. The GM forwarded the email to one mentioned employee who called me at 9pm to confront me and ask more questions. Point made dude you are a little crabby. Take the feedback and find joy in your job if you hate it there are several other places hiring! I will be contacting HQ tomorrow regarding the lack of professionalism this location also seems to have. And to get out of my contract, no one has time for this BS. read more

Not that this gets read by management but something has changed. Currently I have seen the same bandaid in the shower for a month! The commercial claims sparkly bathrooms? I call bullshit. In the change stalls you can see the layer of dust on the walls because it has not been cleaned. The machines have visible dust built up on unused areas and the dust mop has not touched the base of anything. Oh! Don't get me started about the upstairs stretching area. Have you seen the dust Yeti's flying around when someone drops their mat on the floor? It's becoming fairly gross. The staff is friendly of course but it seems more of a social club than anything else for them. I am pretty close to going one block over to that gym where there is dedicated staff to cleanliness and enthusiasm. read more
