Transparency when taking payment. I paid with a credit card and was charged 35.02 vs 32.00 in cash; not including tip. Had I known, I could have paid cash. The work was ok; nothing spectacular. I am not picky and generally easy to please. I would not recommend this place due to this sneaky tactic. There are no prices posted anywhere and no notification of the price difference. This evasiveness gives a place of business the freedom to charge what they want. Due to this lack of customer consideration, I am not inclined to give anything higher than two stars. I have been going to Vie's for many years because I like the way my nails are done there. However, and that should be a however in all caps, the owner has terrible customer service, and is very rude. I feel that going to get my nails and hair should be a relaxing time, and this has not been the case. Aside from that, there are several hygiene practices I have noticed lately, and in this day and age with viruses of all sorts, I am hesitant. Unfortunately, I plan on not returning. read more

$30 pedicure was excellent! The salon had 6-7 technicians, plenty of nail stations and pedi spa chairs with massage. My nail technician (Lee) was meticulous and careful. Had a good experience but -1 star because I don't think it makes a difference if you make an appointment lol. I went there for a 4:30 but didn't get sat until 5, pedicure until 5:20, got the mani after and was out by 6:15. Lady who did my toes was *fantastic* and the pedicure was perfect. I am not sure why this place has so many good reviews. It's actually quite basic and their equipment looks pretty dated. I was appalled to see that they use the same instruments (such as nail file etc) for each client. I am used to nail salons using disposable kits that are not shared between clients or is at the very least sterilized before being used. I was grossed out by the experience and won't be returning. If you care about hygiene, this place is definitely not for you! read more

I am so bummed about this Salon! This used to be my go-to place, and I have been a raving fan of this nail salon for several years. Yet a few months ago, I noticed the quality started going down. And with each visit, I kept getting more and more frustrated by the changes in the staff and the quality of the work. There were a few women, one in particular, that were very good at their job and very good at making the clients feel appreciated and comfortable. Unfortunately, I have not seen these women in a while and it is too bad the owner let them go. Especially since she should probably take a lesson from them on how to treat people/customers. This last visit was the last straw! A new woman, who did my no-chip manicure, did an awful job. Honestly, it looks like a first grader did the manicure. My cuticles are ratty and look awful. The no-chip polish is uneven. From the side, a few of my nails look "wavey". There are also several "fish-eye" indentations on the surface of the polish that I didn't notice until I had left the salon. Normally, I would go back and say something, but when I have said something in the past, the owner was rude to me about the situation and made me feel as though the bad manicure/service was my issue. On top of all the mounting disappointment in the quality of the service, I am disappointed that the salon owner doesn't do a better job of treating her regulars well. With all the salons to choose from, the owner really should take a hard look at how she treats her regulars, who support her business. I would much rather go to a different salon who appreciates my 2 monthly visits and my money. Sorry Vie's, I am going to take my business elsewhere and spend my hard-earned money where it will be appreciated. read more

I never write reviews, but am making an exception here and it makes me sad to do so. I have been going here for at least 10 years. I love supporting neighborhood businesses. The service was always great, but for yet another time is lackluster, rushed, and makes me feel like I am inconveniencing them. It also seems like the employees are being chastised by the owner during work in another language based on the demeaned looks of workers in response, which is concerning. I had a standard mani/pedi (which is now $10 more, but if you use a card, now also incurs a surcharge). (It was $48/ plus a $7 tip - I usually tip more.) It used to be $35 for any form of payment. My pedicure was about 25 minutes long and some nails were not even filed smooth (the basics). Same with my manicure. I had to stop her from cutting my full nails down as far as you can go. Trim down usually means cut down from it's current length, but lower and not totally eliminate any overlap of nail. The nail shapes were different. Pick one and match both hands to it and some are just angled and crooked. By the end of the same day there was a gap between polish and cuticles and the polish was off the nail ends after almost no use to merit this. (It wasn't no-chip, but I expect a few days of good appearance/wear - if I am careful - which I was. I was at an event, not typing, gardening, cleaning, etc.) I went to sit and dry and my person went on to another client (which is typical) and never checked on me at all before I would be expected to leave, which is always very brief, but welcomed - to verify that you are dry, help you with your shoes, etc. I waited until she was done because she never acknowledged me and then had to go find her in the office to get my razor sharp nail fixed, etc. I reluctantly tipped her, but did. I shouldn't walk out and need to redo my nails myself because the work is not good. We all can buy nail care equipment and polish. We go to someone else because we assume they can do better than we can. Not the case lately. This should be an experience that makes you feel pampered. Overall, it was dismissive and stressful. Almost two hours for a mediocre experience. I pay on card and always tip in cash at the end of the session before I leave. I have bought matching polish since to cover the problems (best as I can as I had a stroke). I'll be moving on from here to a place providing quality service that appreciates their customers. read more

I called at 1pm and they were able to see me at 2. Pedicure wad awesome and my no chip manicure looks great. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 is because I chose a color that I wanted for both my mani and pedi but noticed after I left that they were to different shades after I left. My toes are like a wine red and my nails are more of a deep purplish burgundy if that makes sense. I always like my nails and toes to match. I'm sure I could've went back but I just didn't have the time. Next time I just have to make sure the color matches both. read more

Treated myself to a mani pedi at Vie's tonight. They have great nail polish selection, no chip options and lots of new lines of nail colors. The staff are super friendly and there's a good atmosphere among everyone who works there from what I can tell. I went at around 7pm on a weeknight and everyone was busy so I had to wait a fair amount. That said, when it was my turn, the staff took their time and gave me the whole treatment- I didn't feel rushed. They were apologetic about the wait and made a point if saying they want me to come back. Overall- $35 for a mani pedi in a clean, friendly environment is great. This place has been in business for nearly 15 years for a reason. Definitely check them out!! read more

If I ever go back it will only be because of Tim. I called in advance to ask if they did hard gel nails. I was told yes & to come in at 3. I explained I did not want a full nail extension like acrylic. I wanted hard gel that is built into a form on your natural nail. Especially because I wanted a short natural look. I even got there early and waited patiently. Was put into a chair and she started drilling which was fine. But when she pulled the box of gel-x nail extensions I again said I wanted hard gel. Not listening to me she just started glueing away. When I asked again if this was not hard gel she became frustrated and said "you said not acrylic this is gel, you're changing what you asked for". And just continued glueing them to my nails. I've never had a worse nail experience. And then to be talked about to other nail techs while I'm sitting right in the chair- extremely distasteful. My appointment was over in less than an hour. No cuticle care. Not even cuticle oil at the end. And I've never hated my nails more. Like I said- if I ever go back it will only be for Tim. read more

Due to the good reviews and the fact that many people noted Vie's Nails' cleanliness, I decided to try it. I was really pleased. No frills (aside from a really comfortable massage chair), but really friendly, nicely priced and a great spot to get your nails done. My feet needed attention and they were nicely taken care of. The only reason I went here was because my cousin went here. Even the first time she went here they did a horrible job. She went back and complained and they fixed her nails for free and they looked great. I don't like the idea of me coming back, wasting more time, and requesting a free service that should've been done the right time. I am incredibly happy to have Vie's nails open again, and was pleasantly surprised to see the renovations and sanitary upgrades since I was here last. The salon has always been sparkling clean and organized, but the fresh coat of paint, new spa chairs and nail technician stations have given it a complete face lift. They have also put in all the necessary precautions to ensure the safest environment for both their staff and clients. Vie's nails always does a fantastic job whether it is a regular mani pedi or no chip manicure (which truly never chips). Every technician takes their time and the result is always perfection.
