Unfortunately our order was not good. I ordered vegetarian Pho, received Chicken broth instead of vegetable broth. I was told they couldn't do anything about replacing that. I ordered a winter roll with chicken. It was an entire piece of chicken wrapped in rice paper and not cut into small pieces. Pic below. One "healthy tea". It was okay, but not for the price. It used to have honey, citron, lemon, ginger. This one had a few bits of citron only. My order was 36.00. This restaurant has seriously declined. The restaurant is dirty. Walls and floors. Restrooms dirty. So I'm sure the kitchen is the same. The ORIGINAL owner should have never sold this. She was very kind! The restaurant was always clean when she owned it. Prices were affordable. A very surprising find! My friend lives in the area and has been insisting this is a good place. But look at where it's at, in the middle of no where south jersey and located in a mall. Already some odd descriptors! But buyer beware, it's actually pretty darn good! I was quite impressed with the taste of their pho. The flavors were authentic, not too salty, not too sweet. It's better than some places I've had in philly and nyc as well, shocking! Their spring rolls were great too, could have a tighter wrap and more protein though. Prices are decent, but portion size is definitely off and not your typical Vietnamese large bowls. This is where you can tell who the demographic usually is. But all in all a great find and surprisingly delicious for this area. Will be back for sure to get my pho fix and no longer have to cross the bridge and pay $5 and pay for parking just to eat pho! Ventured here off of rt 55. Place looked decent on here so why not. Busy for lunch but then again it's a tight little place. This place is IN the mall FYI. The pho was underwhelming overall. $12 for a medium sized bowl advertised as large, $4 for steamed vegetables added. The veggies were white cabbage and broccoli. $4 why? The broth lacked the traditional herbs and viet style flavor. Blah. The vermicelli was over cooked and mush, hard to eat with chopsticks. This is my third review of this place and we just love it! The food is amazing and the staff is always great. The flavors in the food here are worth the drive. So I love the food here! My favorite is the grilled chicken vermicelli. The chicken is full of flavor and served over rice vermicelli with cucumbers, carrots and daikon on the side. It is a refreshing low calorie lunch that will keep you full. The coconut shrimp egg rolls are a tasty appetizer. While the inside could use a better cleaning, and the paint isn't perfect and service may not be great the food shines here. The owner, Tiffany, is friendly and after a couple visits will remember your drink and food order. Located inside of the Cumberland Mall, there is plenty of free parking and right off of route 55. I was really excited to hear that the mall was getting a Vietnamese restaurant. I was even happier to discover that Viet Bistro is an off shoot of my favorite restaurant Saigon. What's more is that Bistro in the mall has even BETTER food at better prices than Saigon. What more could I ask for? The dining is a bit more casual, but quality has not been sacrificed here. My boyfriend, who is very retiscent to try anything other than meat and potatoes RAVED about the food. We shared everything we got and loved it all. He especially loved the crispy vegetable spring rolls- we bought three servings. Next time we'll just order the 12 spring rolls for $9.99 discount. LOL They were so soooo good. The autumn rolls were delish as was the Pho (Flank and vermicelli). Best thing we had was the grilled chicken lettuce cups, which we kinda fought over. Also, totally addictive and delicious was the coconut bubble tea. I'm not a fan of tapioca, but man that stuff is GOOD. And the owner recommended the cold Vietnamese coffee, which we also tried. She warned me it would keep me up at night and she wasn't kidding. I was up til 4 AM after drinking that stuff! Best of all, the service is just awesome. The owners visit every table to chat and make sure that everything is to your liking. They make suggestions and ask for feedback and are very, VERY friendly. I have visited Viet bistro located in the Cumberland Mall a number of times and I can vouch for the consistent quality of their food. Their grilled pork is delicious, the Ph is good and my favorite is their version of bún tht nng or the grilled combination platter with bun (or vermicelli noodles). Their bubble teas come in a variety of flavors and are pretty tasty and authentic but I prefer my bubble teas to have the traditional chewy black tapioca balls or boba but Viet Bistro (like many places) uses the newer translucent 'popping boba' or a juice ball filled with various juices that pop as you bite into them. They are easier to use and there is certainly less waste for the business but the taste and texture are completely different than traditional black tapioca boba. That said, it is a minor criticism and the food is pretty authentic, delicious, fresh and reasonable for what you get. When I am in the Millville area, it is a great choice for lunch. read more

This little place has the best lunch to fit the bill while shopping! I tend to get the soup. The small size is more than enough. You pick and choose what you want in it. Don't even consider dining any place else in this Mall. You will pay top dollar for just average food. It's just a little joint with good service and inexpensive meals that deliver on taste. But fortunately, this place earned all of it's stars, restoring my faith in Yelp. Besides the fact that it's in a mall, it's also a bit on the small side and there are few tables in their space. It had the atmosphere that was more like take out food rather than sit down. The menu had a variety of items including a couple of things I have to try in the future. I had a "meat salad" which was some marinated beef, steamed vegetables and spring rolls. My companion had the Taste of Viet Bistro. The spring rolls were to die for, two rolls that were fried and served with a Viet Nam dip, kind of a sweet vinegar. Crunchy, hot and tasty. My salad looked nothing like a salad, meat, steamed vegetables and brown rice were served in separate piles. It was very very tasty. My companion loved her dish, it was chicken, pork and shrimp, and vegetables fried and served over vermicelli noodles. This had sauce and was topped with chopped peanuts. The tab for two was under $25, talk about a steal! I thought service was a bit slow and the atmosphere isn't the greatest. But won't stop me from coming back. read more

Very clean and friendly establishment. I've visited Viet Bistro a number of times and It's usually a good quality meal. I can't lie my last experience wasn't my best. My fish tasted like it was microwaved and Kate's meat was a little dry. Like I mentioned before I've eaten at the bistro a good number of times and don't believe that my last visit is an accurate display of this business. With this being said I do plan on returning and will fill others in if its just the food that's slipping. I ordered the Sweet and Sour fish and Kate got the Grilled Meat Combo. Both are great meals. The Viet Bistro is located inside of the Cumberland Mall, if you take the back entrance it's just a few feet inside, making it convenient for take-out. The food is good.. I've had a few different items here; the clay pot, crispy egg noodles, crispy veggie spring rolls, pork chop, chicken with vermicelli, and the fried wontons. Besides the wontons (which had no taste), everything is pretty tasty here, especially the crispy veggie spring rolls with their special dipping sauce and the crispy egg noodles. I have sat down and eaten a couple of times and It is very pretty for a mall eatery, but very small and waitresses are hit-or-miss as far as attitude and ability to serve so I tend to stick to take-out only. read more

We typically eat at Saigon Vietnamese restaurant, but since we were in a rush and were in the mall we ran in viet Bistro. L What a difference. Saigon is so so so much better. I ordered their salad with grilled chicken and summer rolls. The salad was ok but had little lettuce. The dressing was good. The pickled veggies were disgusting.the summer rolls eh. We continue to enjoy this little treasure of a resturant hidden inside our local mall. We did not all arrive at the same time and were slow to order which was reportedly just fine with our patient and friendly server. Our order was promptly taken once we had all arrived and served shortly afterwards. As usual the food was absolutely delicious and the service equally excellent. During our meal the owner stopped at our table for her usual greeting and to confirm our satisfaction. Our checks were written up separately which was not a problem and the cost was reasonable. Besides the delicious fare, The unique intimate service and friendly atmosphere maintained by the staff really make the Bistro a stop to add to your agenda weather for lunch or dinner. I've had the fortunate experience of having Viet Bistro cater one of my events I planned a few weeks ago. Not only was the food hot and ready when I got there, I was also instructed on how to serve the food and was given information on which sauces went together with each meal. To even take it a step further, the owner insisted on keeping the authenticity of the food and wanted everything to be served fresh, that I was also given instructions on how to keep the soup warm and cook the wontons in the soup since it would be a little more than an hour or so that the guests would arrive. The reaction from the guests were overwhelming. It was delicious! Not just delicious. As one guest said "It was amazing!" Many people could not believe the differences in the way items were cooked versus traditional Asian Cuisine you may get from delivery. All of the ingredients blended together and created something that was light yet filling without giving you that bloated or sick feeling where you may find elsewhere. This is one place that I will continue to recommend to my clients and will also keep in mind for many future events I plan which involve some Asian Cuisine. Because I am a "believer" in this food and what Viet Bistro has to offer, I became an employee of this fine establishment. The people are great, food is delicious and the service is always with a warm smile. So whether you're looking for a nice intimate dining experience, a group party or even a catered event, I would suggest you give Viet Bistro a try. You will not regret it! read more

Came here at around 6:30 pm for dinner and ordered the beef clay pot with noodles. It was ok. It seemed more of a beef stew and the amount of noodles that were included on the side seemed like a small amount to me. My friends whom I came here with got a bowl of tofu soup and it was a ginormous, they took half of it home with them and stated that it was delicious. A large group of us were looking for a good spot. One of my buddies had been here before and highly recommended it. We had about 12 of us just walk up and as crowded as it was (7pm Saturday night) they instantly found tables and chairs to accommodate us within 5 minutes. It's inside of a mall which for me, is a bit of a turn off. However, once you're inside you understand that you aren't there for the atmosphere, you're there for the food and the attentive service. They have a solid menu. To me (not a super knowledgable Vietnamese foodie) the authenticity rang pretty true. The staff was super friendly and good. The one thing they are in desperate need of is a bathroom makeover. It felt a little Saw like and I wished I hadn't seen it. So sad..I've been dining/ordering takeout from Viet Bistro since it was Saigon (original owners) across the street by target. It was delicious, prices were great, and everything was fresh and clean. I used to go at least once a month. It's been at least a year since I'd been there though, because a few pho places have popped up closer to me. We ordered takeout last night and it was awful! I ordered online (which maybe should have been my first clue that it had changed hands? That wasn't an option before...) and could only pick one "vegetable" for my pho...what?? Sprouts or basil or Cilantro or lime etc... I thought it was a mistake with the ordering system. I ordered pho with flank and paid $3 for extra meat so we could split it between 2 people. There was barely any meat, packed in the broth, not on the side, so it was like leather...no flavor to the broth, regular basil, not even Thai, no cilantro or other herbs. It was so disappointing. We also got the lettuce wraps which looked weird and different, but I didn't taste it. The autumn rolls were awful. Full of lettuce and vermicelli and a small amount rubbery meat, very loosely rolled. The grilled pork rice platter was actually a pork chop, not the boneless grilled pork it used to be, and it was also dry and rubbery. Everything was just so bad and so disappointing. Thankfully, there are other options about the same distance from me, but I'm bummed that this place that was such a little gem is now such a disaster. read more

Don't order the chicken in it, I'm pretty sure it's processed chicken so the texture is very spongy and shaped like a mc Donald's nugget. This review is difficult because food was good but the environment and customer service was subpar. As a family, we got two chicken clay pots and two noodle soups. All dishes were delicious! But here's the bad.... the restaurant itself needs to be cleaned up. The dining area seemed clean, at least on the surface but my husband was disgusted with the men's room. Filthy and in disrepair. Toilet handle broken off and laying on the water tank so it could not be flushed without lifting tank lid off. Not happening! Toilet paper dispenser ripped out and hanging from the wall. Splatter of unknown material on walls. He said he felt like he need to shower to decontaminate after using the facility. It just makes you wonder if the staff is using the same restroom and just how clean everything else is, mainly the kitchen. We did witness the server use a glass to scoop ice with his bare hands and . Gross! But hey, no one is sick today! Our other complaint is that two tables that ordered after we did, received their food before us even though they were ordering the same noodle soups. They finally brought out our two noodle soups but we had to wait another 10 minutes for the chicken clay pot dishes to come out. The server, on his own accord and to his credit, acknowledged this and apologized for this. Again, the food was really good but the staff needs to clean the place up and follow improved and consistent food service sanitation practices.
