A nice location in a quieter part of the West Loop area. There are a few paid street parking spots out front and a few spaces inside to work/sit. I've been here twice and met the owner once - he was really kind and welcoming! My favorite drink is the Ube latte - it's very well-bodied and the Ube flavor is perfect. I recently got the Vietnamese Coffee (Ca Phe) with Condensed Milk and unfortunately, this was not my favorite. I've had a lot of Vietnamese coffees and this just didn't taste like what I've had in the past. The coffee lacked flavor as it tasted watered down and there was very little sweetness/creaminess in the condensed milk. I'd probably pass on this. They also offer Banh Mi sandwiches and puff pastries if you need a bite while you're here! read more

The quality of a basic latte is good but not worth $7, even less so in the ridiculously flimsy to-go cups they have here. I couldn't hold my cup without it collapsing. The ambiance seemed pleasant so if I were to come back I'd spend some more time and ask for a real cup. read more

Coconut coffee was my favorite. I would go back for that only. The coffee with egg wasn't very good. The jerk empanada was a little underwhelming, I wouldn't get another. Finally got to try out vietfive coffee shop after seeing it on social media. A relatively newer coffee shop in west loop, the interior is cozy and inviting. It's hard to find good Vietnamese style coffee (let alone Vietnamese coffee in general) in the city, so was super excited to visit. The drinks are delicious, with an emphasis on high quality robusta coffee beans from the owners farm in Vietnam, which definitely shines in all their drinks. They also have Vietnamese snacks/foods, including banh mi sandwiches and banh mi empanadas. The banh mi sandwich is some of the best I've had in the city. The staff are friendly and overall great vibes! Love there's another cozy third space cafe for the Asian community! Will definitely add in to my weekend coffee shop routine. read more

I visited this café hoping for authentic Vietnamese coffee, but was disappointed. Being Vietnamese myself, I really wanted to find a cafe that'd make me feel like home. Not to mention, it was surprisingly acidic--not typical for Viet coffee. It was a letdown, especially since I made a special trip just to try it. The owner was kind, though the barista seemed a bit rude--maybe just a long day. It was disappointing given I was the only customer in line + the cafe wasn't busy. The café itself has a nice vibe, with great lighting, upbeat (but not loud) music, and plenty of outlets. It's small, with only 5-6 tables and a bar, but good for working if you find a spot. While the coffee didn't hit the mark, I'm willing to give this place another try. It's obviously not the most authentic Vietnamese spot, but I'd like to explore more of the menu to see if something else can impress. Really was excited to try this place but it took them over 20 minutes to make my bahn mi and they forgot my coffee. I saw several other people get their coffee before me and had to ask about my order. The bahn me was pretty good but had way too much pickled daikon on it, I believe the person making it was new so I understand but 20 minutes for a sandwich and a forgotten coffee in the same day is a double whammy for me. Just a quick walk from my place, I will deff be visiting this spot often. The coffee is strong. For those mornings you need a little extra pep in your step, this is perfect. I've only had the number 1, coffee and condensed milk. It comes prebatched and gets poured over ice. It's got a strong coffee flavor that's balanced by the condensed milk. Not overly sweet, as you'd expect with condensed milk. The team here are great. Everyone's been super nice and high energy. Good spot to work remotely too, with some tables to setup shop at for a few hours and get some work done. Can't wait to try some of the baked goods. read more

Had a training here and it was powerful and transformative, learning tools and ideas on how to make places more inclusive and empowering ppl to independence. I tried the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk as well as the iced Ube latte with coffee. Both were tasty but I particularly enjoyed the Vietnamese iced coffee as it had a very strong fragrant coffee flavor and was sweetened but not too sweet. The iced ube latte also has a nice taste (sort of coconutty in my opinion), but is on the sweeter side. Really nice laid back environment with friendly staff and customers. (Saturday, March 7, 2026 around 11am) Their service, coffee, everything about VietFive has gone down. My family and I just had a TERRIBLE experience their Saturday morning that makes us NEVER want to go back. I understand they were very busy but their employees need to be mindful. Let me paint the scene... My name was called because my order was ready. My family ordered drinks and food. So my husband and I come up to the counter. I pick up the drinks and walks to my table to drop off our drinks. My husband right next to me just 2 seconds later asked about our food as well. And a male employee in a green shirt who wasn't even helping us in the beginning pops up out of no where had the audacity to say to my husband "didnt you just pick up your order how do I know you aren't stealing and asking for more food" and just ignored by husband. I then go up to that worker to confront him and all of a sudden he's scared and trembling after I called him out and told him he cannot in any circumstance speak to anyone that way. All of a sudden he looses his tough exteriors and rude attitude because a woman has called him out. I do not regret confronting that employee the same way he rudely spoke to my husband. I am fuming to have witnessed that. So to the owner of VietFive, I timestamped the event above you know who this employee is please check them and make sure this doesn't happen again. You don't by any circumstance ever just assume a paying customer who JUST PAYED is stealing. AND you don't speak to any human being like that PERIOD. That employee just caused you to loose a group of customers because of his poor attitude. So sad. read more
