Aurora Spa, $10K, control panel very difficult to maneuver through. I am a collage grad and I cannot figure out many of the instructions. Owners manual is on line or phone, only. Filter is difficult to remove and pours all the dirt and grime right back into the tub water when you can get the filter out! Jets button is the only one not lighted at night. So I've owned the Viking Tradition 2 spa going on 3 years.. My wife and I live in the Las Vegas area and we use our spa maybe once a week if that.. So as a spa goes it does what it's advertised to do. Here is the reason I give it only 2 stars on this review!! * spa cabinetry does not hold up under the Las Vegas heat and sun. Spa orientation from back to front faces East and West so it gets full sun throughout the day. Within the first year cabinetry on the front and back has warped and separated. Cabinetry is NOT covered by warranty. Small print under warranty mentions this. Buyer beware!! Suggest protecting spa from the sun. * Spa tub is VERY prone to scratches. Keep your toenails trimmed! * So here is a big issue for me. I'm retired military so Viking Spas advertises their spas as USA MADE.. That was a selling point. However this is misleading. Spa Tub has plastic button that says made in the USA. But inside the cabinetry the pumps indicate by a sticker "Made in China" read more

I purchased a Viking Legend 2 Spa a couple of weeks ago and I needed to contact Viking Spas regarding a concern. I utilized the contact me form on the Viking Spa Website at 10:00 pm on Sunday. The very next morning at a little after 8:00 am, I received a phone call from Kelly, the Customer Service person at Viking Spas. He was very polite and professional while he listened to me explain my concern. He informed me what I need to do and even gave me his direct phone number just in case I may need something else. My new spa worked for 2 weeks and quit during a college graduation party I own a repair facility and we service equipment traced the problem to a wire left loose on assembly which ruined gfi plug. Went to Home Depot got the new part up and running now after contacting them they want to void my warranty for a power cord. Customer service is very rude. read more

Beware Viking Spas! Their spas have shoddy design, cheap non-durable materials, and hard-assed customer by service rep Doug and Gary his supervisor! I bought a Viking Spa for our second home and immediately began noticing its lower quality design, construction and non-durable materials. Left over manufacturing debris began shooting into the water from the system innards. This was minor but it lasted for a couple months. Even worse the black plastic (they referred to it as shrink-wrap) moisture barrier on the bottom of the spa lid started disintegrating despite our very moderate use of chemicals. Its debris has been falling into the water in small, hard to collect pieces. The moisture barrier's failure allows the Styrofoam in the lid-cover to accumulate moisture. The lid is so heavy now I can barely lift it away to use the spa. My spouse cannot lift it at all! The Viking Customer Service & Supervisor Reps were uncivil and dismissive from the get-go, even when I mentioned that I'd pay for a new lid, hopefully at a reduced price. All they offered was for me to make a claim with their vendor which makes their lids while saying that it was likely they would say that the disintegration of the moisture barrier was my solely my fault for over treating with chemicals. It seemed as if this was an often used dodge to avoid standing behind their products. But we use a low chemical additive system recommended by the Viking Dealer called Aqua Finesse, which permits using considering smaller amounts of chlorine, etc. Gary, the abrupt and rather rude supervisor, revealed that Viking does not handle warranties for vendor made components, which like the pump and controls constitute substantial and main parts of the assembled spas. This is unlike most reliable spa and other manufacturers who warrant their product even parts of it are provided by outside vendors. By the way, this spa is not my first one. We have owned a Hot Springs spa at our full time residence for over a decade and that company completely stands behind their products responsibly even though some main parts are supplied by outside vendors. BTW, Hot Springs are much higher quality and have much better controls, unlike the confusing, user unfriendly controls on the Viking Spas. The Viking people also immediately tried to wiggle out of any responsibility for the failing lid-cover by saying we put in too much chemical(s). It sounded like this was their usual spiel, however my spouse really abhors chemicals, so again we use a very low potency chemicals additive system recommended by the Viking Dealer called Aqua Finesse, which allows considerably smaller doses of chlorine, etc. Anyway, the lid moisture barrier began disintegrating within 2-3 months and my approach was not to fight over that, but to try to buy a new spa lid-cover at something less than the full retail price because I thought I had received a defective lid in the first place. As I said Viking never rose to a reasonable customer service position and instead talked over me. They immediately said everything was my fault without hearing my full story. So I have to conclude Viking provides substandard products and therefore offers substandard service after the sale. Viking Spas is not a company I will ever do business with again, and I hope you are forewarned as well. read more

Obviously it helps if you've owned other spas and know how to handle water chemistry as previous reviews reflect. Super energy efficient and great hydrotherapy. I contacted Customer Service to see if there was something that can be done- looking to work towards some type of resolution something? Anything? I purchased a Viking spa from an authorized retailer. Less than a year later, it's falling apart cosmetically. When the retailer attempted to address the problems with Viking, they were met with resistance. When I contacted Viking themselves, I was treated incredibly disrespectfully. I was called names, yelled at, and hung up on. Even my retailer was flabbergasted at why they were so nasty in their emailed response to my very reasonable request. You'd think I was asking for a replacement or refund of the spa itself the way they are acting. The customer service manager could use a few classes in customer service. I have owned 3 of these spas. The 1st was given to me by my mother after she bough herself a new spa. It was a very basic, round tub with wodden siding, and bench seats. It was actually quite reliable, much like an old VW bug- it did what it was supposed to do, but lacked a lot of bells and whistles. I decided to upgrade to a Viking Supreme. The spa still had wooden sides and bottom, but more jets and loungers. The spa chewed thru motors, as it was very hard to regulate chemical levels, and the gaskets that they use would give away, casuing water leakge into the motor. I had gotten to a point that I was able to replace the pumps on my own, but the wood deteriorated very quickly. I decided to get a newer model, which had plastic siding instead of wood, ozinator, and led lighting, along with radio and speakers. Sounds good....but not really. They are still using the pressure gaskets, which I have learned from spa techs are a major source of problems, the radio didn't handle outdoor elements, and the lack of good insulation makes it an electricity pig. I guess the old wooden panels at least partially insulated the old spa, this one is almost always running, and that is on the economy mode, which also keeps the water too cold to use unless you allow a heat up time. Worst of all, the filtration is horrid!!!! I have learned a lot over the years of ownership. I have seen the other reviews complaining about the tops, which isn't a Viking issue, the swtock tops with most spas are junk. Staining is a lot of the time a water issue, although the tuff coat makes cleaning nice, it does stain rather easily. Keeping the water clean is a full time job, and requires constant fussing, as the filter only filters 50sq ft, and the water never really filters well. All in all. if you have the money, go with a higher end, more established spa read more

Ive owned my Viking Legend spa for over three years and use it on an almost daily basis for my back. I had a control problem in the second year and the store I bought the spa from took care of it right away. No problems since. I dont write reviews but Viking deserves a good one. I called back and spoke to some lady who began to cry and freak out after I explained what happened, but wait it gets better. She then transferred me to #Tom Veneklase, the President of the company. I explained again what happened after buying my very expensive POS spa, he told me the rep never said that and that if I wanted the part for my spa id have to drive to him in Wyoming, MI to get it, in a threatening way no less. I'm not sure about the other negative reviews here, but we've owned our Viking Spa for over 12 years. When it was ready to upgrade and purchase a new spa, Viking was the first one we considered. We went to our local dealer and have nothing but great things to say about him and the Viking model we choose. The delivery, set up and performance of our spa has been great, with only one minor leak at the pump on delivery, which was resolved within 24 hours. I would not hesitate to recommend a Viking Spa to anyone looking to buy a new hot tub. read more
