Awful squishy mozzarella sticks!! asked if they could re-fry them and was told that they are baked (microwaved) and that they would re-bake (re-microwave) them for me. (no joke, we've tried pizza throughout the world) He grew up in the valley and I first tried this place while on vacation in Solvang. We make sure to stop by here anytime we are driving up this way. Came back and there was a few very large parties. The girl that ordered before me got her pizza AND finished her pizza, before I decided to walk to the front and ask how much longer for my 5 piece chicken strips. They said the strips were ready and to go sit down and they'll bring them to me. I saw about 4 pizzas on the counter, some buffalo wings & my chicken strips. It all would have been fine except my chicken strips were the only food item not plated. Just laying on the counter top. The 4 pizzas were on pizza pans. The 12 piece wings were on a plate, and my 5 piece chicken strips were on the counter. I asked if those were my strips& if so I really didn't want them since they're just laying on the counter like that. The female worker (short black hair with piercings) (I didn't catch her name) just laughed when I said that. Almost to make it seem like that's not even the worse thing they do there. I never got a "I'm so sorry for the wait" even though I said i completely understand that you guys got busy, I wasn't upset about the wait at all. I'm baffled that my strips were on the counter & the chick that laughed when I said I didn't want them anymore. While exploring Solvang, we decided on this hidden away patio to grab a quick bite with our kids. The guy taking my order was extra helpful in suggesting a large pizza with split toppings rather than a bunch of "mini" pizzas that would make it much more costly. I was having a low blood sugar moment, and this was immensely calming. My mind turns to scrambled eggs, and I become cross-eyed in the search for food. Pizza was ordered. Hawaiian, Cheese, and Margarita pizza all arranged on a large pie. Paper plates, pizza slices and water for everyone. The patio was clean, and everything seemed very well cared for. It was a pleasant experience! The patio had a lovely charm, planted flowers and tables with umbrellas. I made the mistake of asking for a cabernet, which was sour and awful tasting. But that was excused, since it was a pizza joint, not a wine tasting room. I just thought I would give it a try in the Santa Ynez valley. You never know, they could possibly serve a quality wine. But, it was as bitter and as empty as most pizza places would carry. Probably boxed wine. I won't think about it. The pizza was fresh, crispy, and pretty decent. Not sloppy or greasy. Somewhat like a do it yourself, homestyle pizza using Boboli, but a flatter, crispier crust. The garlic paste was strong, but at least it was a noticeable flavor. The tomatoes were freshly sliced. They get my thumbs up for that. They make the pizzas directly behind the counter. You can see how they do everything, which is great if you are picky or curious. Hands down one of the WORST pizzas I've ever had. Cold, tasteless, toppings undercooked and the marinara dipping sauce is way too sweet. Crust is hard and cheese is cheap. My pizza toppings were nearly raw ( onions, jalapenos and mushrooms) and had obviously been added to a plain cheese pizza AFTER IT HAD BEEN BAKED - all of the toppings fall off when lifting the slice. On the plus side delivery was fast but overall a huge disappointment. Tower pizza deserves nothing more than a 2 start rating. Domino's or Pizza hut would have been a might better choice. read more
