Menu was confusing and tricky with a lot of fine print that jacks up the prices. $43 for one 12" combo pizza, one small 10" Hawaiian style and one a salad bar. Tourist trap! Pizza was overpriced, overcooked and not very flavorful. Salad bar was decent but some veggies too wet and limp. No garbanzo beans! (How rude! ) Their sole restroom (outdoors around back) looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month. Service was nice and fast, however so I think 2 stars is accurate. read more

IF YOU LIKE CAULIFLOWER CRUST - this is the spot. This is the first time I have had a pizza crust that is made out of cauliflower and it was still crispy. My family had the jalapeño cheese bread and it was also a delicious addition. We live about 40 minutes away and will now be regulars! If I could give 0, I would do so. So my family and I went to Solvang during weekend and needed to find a place for lunch. We walked in, was about to order, and heard the pizza maker and a customer yelling at each other. The customer claimed his pizza was undercooked and the pizza guy said he knew his pizza. Some bad words came out from them and another waitress yelled to both to warm them there were kids in the house (yeah, that one star goes to her). We should just leave at that sight. They don't come any nicer than the folks at Tower Pizza in Solvang. My wife and I actually held our REHEARSAL DINNER here for our recent wedding at nearby Hotel Corque. The atmosphere reminded us of our childhood pizza joints, and the food was the best pizza we could find in the area. Monica, Dave, Torey, and the rest of the team worked tirelessly to make our event special. They decorated the tables, gave us access to the main television to show special videos, and even closed down the restaurant to give us a time we will never forget. At the end of the evening, we weren't just grateful for the space, the great food, and the warm hospitality, but the cost didn't break the bank. If their kindness, service, and approach to others had a price, we'd surely not be able to afford their quality. Thank you, Tower Pizza. We'll be back for years to come! read more

While staying at the Hotel Corque, I stumbled into Tower Pizza and found two of my favorite things in one place.... Pinball Machines and Beer! I'm sold! After playing for an hour or so, I decided to order food to bring back to the hotel. I ordered a pizza, spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread. It's ready very quickly and I bring it back to hotel. .... only to discover that they forgot to give me forks or napkins... Back I go. I tell the woman and she points to the forks..... Uh, thanks. Oooof. Starting with the "meatballs"... 2 of the saddest, driest, smallest things this side of Abe Vigoda's testicles. I only wish that they were "Costco frozen" quality... more like generic. The sauce was bland. The "Garlic Butter" bread was simply buttered bread. The toppings on the pizza were stingy. The pizza was good, nothing crazy but definitely good. We got a thin crust pineapple pizza, btw. I did like the amount of cheese, which was A LOT. I really wanted the garlic breadsticks. It's not like there are a ton of places to grab a seat to watch a game. They had a couple TVS at the bar and a few in the dining room. One which was situated DIRECTLY in front of a table which was super dope to see. Too bad someone already snagged that before we came in. They also have a Coca-Cola Freestyle here which I love. It's that big digital machine that lets you choose all kinds of flavors to add to all kinds of choices of sodas and such. I live in the area and have been here several times. Tower Pizza is sort of a local staple. For me, it's just very OK. It's very standard American pizzeria stuff. No surprises. But also doesn't really stand out except that they show the UFC PPVs for free, which is awesome. You'll drop $25-30 for their largest specialty pizza. I try to be positive in reviews even if sharing an area they could improve, so I will say their interior is quite dated. It's pretty banged up in spots. It reminds me of the pizzerias I would go to as a kid on the 80's and 90's. For some people, that's probably a good thing. Three stars because, for me, Tower is very OK. Like I said, you won't be surprised for good or bad. It's pizza the way you expect it from a typical pizzeria. read more

But other than that I would like to rate this place 3 out of 5 stars. The pizza here are great, the only thing I screwed up on was ordering a thin crust instead of the deep dish. That is my bad. Tower Pizza was a true savior for our super rainy night in Solvang. We ducked out of our hotel during a downpour break to hit up Tower, on a local's recommendation. Delicious salad and salad bar, homemade croutons, and my daughter especially loved the pizza, and the soda fountain which seemed to allow unlimited drink options. Don't try to order for delivery...the girl on the phone could not give me ANY of her attention, too busy talking to a customer, and other employees without excusing herself or asking me to hold. (For SEVERAL minutes.) When she finally came back on, she gave me attitude because I did not know the phone number of the house I was at, just had my cellphone number not associated with a local address. I ordered from details from the menu displayed on the YELP site, she said they don't have a pizza with that name or the requested ingredients. Very rude. Very impatient. If she had been halfway polite or understanding, I would have still ordered pizza. But, she was NOT. I said thank you, and asked to remove my information, I would not order. I came to this place this past weekend with my family after visiting Chumash Casino. Never again! The most disgusting and unsanitary place I've ever been. My sister in law ordered a salad and found a bug in her food. Then I get my food and I find a bug in my salad too! Two different orders and we both find bugs in our food? The closest you'll find to a sports bar in Solvang though I imagine it shuts down by 7 or 8, like the rest of the town. Our food was about what you'd expect from a small, locally run pizza joint. It filled us but we were starving so anything would have worked. Hunger bias aside, 3 stars seems about right. Nothing fancy in the decor, though they do have outdoor dining which is nice. I figured every restaurant in town would have a wine list, no matter what type of food, but no. My dude was just happy to get a Budweiser so if you need a beer fix (and let's face it, we sometimes do, even in wine country), this is worth hitting up for a small diversion from the rest of your weekend. Randomly, families were running around Solvang too. As a kid, this place would have bored the heck out of me so I'm not sure why this was a family destination, but I imagine fams would appreciate this place because, like all pizza joints, it's kid-friendly. read more

It was really good thin crust pizza...I loved it, but not $42-love it...and others in our party didn't care for the thin crust. We came here once before and I got the fettuccine alfredo...not good, really bland...stick to pizza. Both times we've been here, there have been sports games on and the adult softball league-type groups sharing beer and pizza...so seems like a local sports place. It's a cool, central location, with a cute patio seating option (but nobody was out there either time I was there). There is also a small arcade for the kiddos or adult kiddos like us. I wouldn't eat there again. The pizza was almost unedible. We had barbecue chicken pizza, a small for $14.99. They didn't offer us water, so we went in and asked. No napkins on the tables outside. The pizza was odd little pieces of chicken, with a few red oinons, a barbecue sauce that tasted anything but and a measily amount of chees. But the kicker was big chunks of cilantro that we had to pick off the pizza that was plopped on top after it was cooked. Dude - we have now ended up here on 2 different trips to Solvang based solely on the fact that they are open when everyone else is closed!!!!! So we were STARVING after a day of wine tasting, and had gone through our picnic lunch provisions (you can check my review of Meadowlark Inn, which explains that we didn't have a fridge to keep anything in), and ended up at Tower Pizza - there again to save the day! We got a Medium Pizza 1/2 Chipotle Pulled Pork 1/2 Garlic & White Sauce Chicken and a pitcher of Firestone DBA for a total of $23 -not bad!!! We couldn't finish the pitcher, but the beer was tasty and cold, and the pizza was nice and light - very thin and crispy crust. We were looking for pizza when we were in Solvang, and this place was the closest to the main drag so we thought we would give this place a try. I think we were also attracted to it because of the cool looking tower which seems to have nothing to do with the restaurant in retrospect. It reminds me of a pizza place I would go to in the 90s. they have free corkage but have like two wine glasses (no joke). The pizza was standard. The one girl that seemed to work there seemed very overwhelmed. The "salad" bar was a total joke with limp pieces of veggies.
