Came here for a late dinner after a long day of walking around and were starving. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is beautiful and inviting. The service was nice, there was a gentleman walking around greeting guests whom I'm guessing was as the owner, he bought us a round of lemoncello to finish the meal which was very good and generous of him. Now to the food a bunch of amazing dishes. We started with the padrones, tomato bread and cheese which were all good the padrones were some of the better ones we've had so far. For the main dishes we shared the Pizza which had great crust and good sauce perfectly cooked with the spicy salami. The garlic shrimp and papas bravas were both really good. The steak (from why I heard) was good a little rare for the liking but good flavor. The star of the entire dinner though was the Cod Augratin topped with goat cheese and honey, if you done here make sure to order this dish you will not be disappointed. read more

Long story short, avoid this place. Service - we picked the restaurant after reading previous reviews believing that we would have a view of the Sagrada Familia and that the food was good. After walking over there we were disappointed to find that there was only one table that offered that view and it was terribly located in the flow of sidewalk traffic. However, we sat outside anyway. The tables were dirty and it took several minutes before the waiter even addressed us despite servicing the other two tables of people who were also outside. In fact, I had to give him a look as he walked past us for the fourth time to get him to finally come over and address us. Mind you, this was a Friday in March at 1pm and the restaurant was not even close to being busy. Ambiance - the restaurant appears to cater to large, disrespectful and drunk groups. There was a group of loud women seated not far from us when we arrived and, after they left, they were replaced with a group of loud disrespectful men. I had the unfortunate experience of seeing more of one of their patrons than I wanted to. This particular man was dressed in a skirt and wore no underwear. I was purposely shown all of his private parts while we were sitting outside. In addition, while in the ladies restroom one of these guys walked in to use it despite there being a men's restroom. All of this is full view of the manager who did nothing to address the situation. This was our experience in the span of time we spent there. Food - we started with sparkling water. The glass I was given was clearly dirty from food residue. This should have been our first clue that this was not going to be a good experience. I ordered the chicken paella and it was the worst that I have ever had. The rice had inconsistent texture and the dish, overall had no flavor. My husband ordered the chicken fettuccine and he said it was decent. The food was not expensive but I didn't find value in it beyond the obvious nutritional benefits. Needless to say, while I have some wild stories to share with our friends about this place we will never eat there again. read more

We almost didn't eat here but we are glad we did. It was really good and better than I expected for such a touristy area. I had read some bad reviews and we almost left the restaurant but decided to give it a try. The sangria was delicious, we ordered the grilled vegetables platter, the ham croquettes, the grilled prawns, the tomato and feta salad, and the Pedrone peppers. Everything was delicious. Rude waitress who begged me and my friend to partronize this place and after being seated for 15 minutes we were told we had to change tables because 3 people came to the restaurant with no reservation stating they were a party of 8 with 5 folks missing and the waitress told us we had to give up the table. When I explained that we did not want to change tables, the waitress said we had to. We then left and went to a lovely restaurant a few feet away called Divan and had a delicious meal. The staff at Villa Caprice needs sensitivity training. The waitress was extremely rude and should not be in the service industry. read more

We were with a tour group and when we sat down the waitress didn't ask us but grabbed our water bottles and said no cannot be in here. Fine but she could have done it in a nice manner. Then it got worse. I pointed to the item on the menu I wanted and she brought me a different item. When I told her she told me I did not order that item and continued to argue with me. This was back in December 2021 but I arrived in Barcelona after a very long flight from NYC and some mishaps. I was walking the streets around La Sagrada Familia to discover this place with a large and beautiful plant-i-ful ambiance. The host was very kind and accommodating. After I ordered my food, the owner came to my table and offered to take a picture of my sangria but also give me extra tapas on the house. The restaurant offers delicious drinks, food, and customer service. A must go if you are in Barcelona. I still think of this place even after 8 months later! read more

The food at Villa Caprice was excellent, and you cannot beat the location. It is mere steps from La Sagrada Familia yet at lunchtime, it's quiet enough due to the overwhelming amount of American fast food restaurants nearby which are bursting at the seams with tourists. read more

Found this place by chance while wandering around, looking for somewhere to grab a late-night dinner. A server approached us with a menu, suggesting we give their place a try. The menu looked like it had a good variety so we decided to give it a chance. We were seated outside, with a marvelous view of la Sagrada Familia directly in front of us. My friends shared a pizza which they thought was decent. I got pasta bolognese, which I loved! As with many places in Europe, remember that you have to ask for the check when you're ready to go, the servers will not approach you otherwise! While in Barcelona last week my Wife and I ate there and we loved it so much! Great food great service. Best paella I ever ate hands down. In the shadow of the Basilica is this wonderful, friendly, bar/restaurant. When we were in Barcelona we were lucky that the weather was kind to us at the time of year. In fact, the locals were surprised by the weather too. We, therefore, were able to sit outside every evening, albeit with some heating and a blanket. Our first early evening we sat at the Caprice, just for drinks. Service was brilliant by a very delightful young lady and an attentive guy. Both were great and made the evening go with a flow. They, both, made us so welcome that we frequented the bar most evenings for a drink and, sometimes, for their delicious food. On our first evening the girls had the obligatory sangria (they were in Spain) and I had my usual vodka on ice. The bottle of Polar was brought to the table and poured over wonderful chunks of ice. I won't even try to estimate the quantity but the bottle level went well down. With it came wonderful olives. The girls don't enjoy olives and after a while, because they were slightly peckish, asked if there were any crisp type nibbles. The waitress said that there weren't and apologised. After a short while a bag of Doritos where placed on the table followed by a bowl. She opened the bag and poured in the nachos. This young lady had gone into the local supermarket and bought a bag. A wonderful girl. On our last evening, there wasn't a table available outside. The young guy saw this so brought out a table and chairs, from inside, for we two oldies. These are small points that mean so much, make you feel special and, therefore, go back. Loved the place, loved the service, loved the food, great drinks and two very special servers. Had lunch after tour of Sagrada. Pizza came out cold and blah tasting. No spices or herbs added to pizza. Just cheese, mushrooms, and olives. Sad for an Italian restaurant. read more
