Dry chicken and pasta with absolutely NO flavor.
Elektra C.

Went on Christmas for a lunch with my mom and husband. The place smelled good, looked beautiful and absolutely had a FAMILY ViBE to it. Unfortunately, the food was SUCH A MISS!!! The Lobster Bisque was enjoyable. Thats about it. The baked clams were SALTY and the calamari was mushy. Mom ordered the filet mignon and she ordered it well done. It arrived with COLD mashed potatoes and BURNED STEAK. NOT WELL DONE, BURNED!! I ordered the penne a la vodka with breaded chicken cutlet. It had no flavor at all. My husband ordered cacciucco fiorentino which is basically a seafood platter over linguine with red sauce. AGAIN, NO FLAVOR. We didnt even bother staying for dessert and coffee. Didnt want to be further disappointed. We did pack the food to go and when we got home we had to add major salt garlic hot sauce and whatever else we can find to give the food some life. Unfortunately, there was NO saving the BURNED filet mignon. We were grateful to have been able to get a reservation ON Xmas, but honestly what was the point of going out when we had to go back home to season the food?? We wont be back.

Hosted my mom's 60th birthday in their private room and was soooo happy! The room is spacious, very clean, private bathroom, our host David was on it with the drinks and the orders. The food was just the right amount and delicious. They were so easy to book and deal with. Would totally recommend and come back!

Shrimp parmigiana

Great Italian Restaurant. Street parking . Quiet on Tuesday night. Enjoyed our hot antipasto. Shrimp parmigiana for entree with plenty of juicy shrimps. Nice surroundings.

Spaghetti and meatballs. Nothing to write home about.

I was so anticipating trying this middle Village institution....I researched it, read the reviews, and was prepared to cheat on my usual Italian establishment. Man was I let down. The place has a nice interior restaurant and a small rustic porch. We sat outside but we were not enamored by the decor and lack of thought that went into the set-up. The patio was strewn with folded chairs and rustic tables which were uneven Food: octopus was old, not fresh, and over cooked. We took one bite and returned it. Strike 1 I ordered spaghetti and meatballs as I like to gauge the Italian chutzpah of an Italian restaurant based on how well they cook a spaghetti and meatballs (if you cannot cook a good spaghetti and meatballs, you are not really Italian). Needless to say the, it fell short of the mark. The meatballs were nothing to write home about but the pasta tasted like it came from a package/box. Sauce was too "liquidy" as well. Strike two. My friends shared the shrimp special which portioned our like an appetizer. Both the shrimp and spinach were salty. They charged $42 for it! Strike 3. The bill came out to $142. Definitely overpriced and definitely not worth the excursion. Needless to say, we won't be frequenting this place again but the pain really lies in anticipating a place and it letting you down. Heading back to my usual haunt (Da Francesco's in Greenpoint).

Breadsticks and Shrimp Cocktail

The pizza was great but the cocktail shrimp was kinda silly. There were only 4 shrimps for $22

Villa Erasmo is a delightful restaurant that our Kiwanis club regularly holds meeting at. This was my first time here and I came from Long Island. It was easy to get to and find. There is a parking lot on the side, but we found very close street parking. We entered a large restaurant which has a very rustic look and is dimly lit, (at least when I was here.) I found it cozy. The staff greeted us well as soon as we came in before directing us to our private room. It was a very spacious room which made it a perfect meeting spot. We sat for a while and discussed business while the servers took our orders. A small salad and a Chicken Cutlet Parmesan plate. Truly enjoyed my meal. Cool fresh salad and a thin tender piece of well-cooked Chicken. I always like a nice tasty sauce and this meal did not leave me disappointed, The portions of food were definitely plentiful. This was good and expected but not the norm in every restaurant I go to. This was a very enjoyable accommodating restaurant. Not local to me but worth the ride to enjoy and be with my friends there. KUDOs to the team at Villa Erasmo.

A dimly lit Italian restaurant, with pretty good Italian fare. Service was great, we sat at the bar. The drinks were pretty awesome. The stuffed clams were good, octopus was tender, flavorful. The vodka penne was pretty good, quite flavorful!

It was in the middle of the day, so the service was also pretty good, but it wasn't super packed so it was nice and quick. The bruschetta was fire. They immediately brought bread to the table and it was yummy! Because we were the last people to leave we ended up taking home extra bread and I've been eating it with my breakfast. So this was the meal that kept giving. We got the tricolore salad, fresh and simple. We then got the branzino and lasagna bolognese. Both were cooked perfectly. I never order lasagna but this was great! Branzino was fresh and flaky. We had this with a carafe of Chianti. I love that they have all 3 options for per glass, carafe and bottle!
