I've eaten here a few times in the last year, sometimes later at night. Gave them a pass the late times thinking maybe it will be fresher around lunch. Went in the afternoon before 1:30PM three times and every time the pizza was just as old, stale and soggy as at night. New York Flop. If Portnoy was to walk in and get a regular slice he'd call it Villa Floppi. This slice bends and folds like wet paper. The cheese is dry and has that "reheated , oven" flavor. Not enough sauce. 5.2 if Dave was in a good mood. Really more of a 4.9. Out of 10. Here's the craziest part. I actually like the pizza to fold a little rather than be too crispy and dark on the bottom.. which is why I used to eat here. But it has gotten out of control to the point where it's hard to believe a professional establishment would even serve those floppy regular slices Tried the vodka slice a few times. Vodka slices are usually my favorite but this vodka slice is just barely mediocre. Not enough sauce and the oven tasting, dry cheese problem the regular slices have. It's not nearly as floppy as the regular slices though. As for cost- at $8 for a regular and a vodka slice- that would be a fair price if it was good pizza. Maybe their fresh pies are better, but the slices are not good. I remember it used to be better, not great, but better, several years ago. Don't know what happened and don't feel good writing this because they seem reasonably nice in there.. but the pizza slices are a bit of a joke, you need to work on that. read more

5 stars, no questions asked. Had it last night for the first time and was so good that we had it again tonight. Across the board, everything we had was stellar. Let's start with their regular cheese pizza. You can find a cheese slice on any corner, but not all are created equal. And though it's just a few simple ingredients, so many pizza joints just don't nail the cheese slice. Too much cheese, not enough sauce, wrong consistency of dough/crust, etc... but not Villa Meci. They nailed it. Excellent cheese slice through and through. Next up was the Buffalo chicken roll. I'm a massive Buffalo lover , and love anything Buffalo from wings to a Buffalo chicken pizza to rolls and wraps. Decided to try their buff chick roll was it was a hard 10. Quality of chicken was excellent, which often is a problem at pizza places. Perfect amount of Buffalo sauce and melted cheese. Dough is perfect consistency -- some parts soft and doughy, some crisp and crunchy. Just perfect. No blue cheese or ranch inside which I like. Good opportunity to pick your poison and dip in 1 (or both) on the side. I'm a ranch guy. Dabbled with their Greek salad wrap as well, which was also excellent. Salad was fresh and vibrant, which isn't always the case. Feta was good, grilled chicken was clean and tasted just right and Greek dressing was awesome. Couldn't ask for more. Their grandma slice was also great. No complaints. Penne alla vodka slice was a bit heavy for us and a bit too much cheese between the layer of cheese attached to the dough and then more cheese on top of the pasta. Two days in a row says it all. However, today s pizza by Uber Eats, is barely lukewarm. In my opinion, pickup is much better than delivery, unless the delivery guy has a professional insulated pizza delivery jacket. Also, adding on jalapeño is not a wise choice at the store. They are not imbedded in the pie as a whole, only randomly being thrown on the pizza. So all you taste is boring extremely salty pepper. Mushrooms would be much prettier choice. read more

Terrible food - I honestly don't understand how this place is rated so highly, and higher than much better places. I've tried eating there multiple times to really give them the benefit of the doubt but the food is just awful. The pizza slices taste like they have either been reheated too many times or left out way too long. I have tried plain, pepperoni and white pizza, and will not be trying any more. The pepperoni was undercooked and the white slice barely had any ricotta, if any. The grandma slice looked like my grandma threw up Sunday dinner, so I didn't bother ordering it. The garlic knots were also very subpar - they were basically bread knots with some butter on them. Both the dipping and pizza sauces were not great. Inside, the place was dirty with crumbs all over the floor. Anyone saying the pizza is like Brooklyn pizza is on drugs or has never been to Brooklyn. Or maybe they got COVID and lost their sense of taste. You're better off going to almost any other pizzeria in the area. Don't waste your time, money or stomach here. read more

Love it so much! It's that kind of pizza that is delicious fresh but amazing heated up in the toaster oven the next day. Last night we ordered one pie. Changed the order to two, with no problem, until we got it home. Second pie was one that was clearly sitting around under cooked with 7 slices. Everything is terrific except delivery times seem to run a little slow and they forget the utensils. The delivery person seems to be nice. Have been ordering since I don't have much choice but also because I was told the food was good. Keep up the great work and thanks again for feeding the front lines. There's so many pizzerias in a small radius around Villa Meci and it's become my favorite. The place is small, quaint with limited seating. But they make up for it in pizza options and quality. I came in here wanting to take something to go anyway! We needed up getting the Mac & cheese with bacon, & buffalo chicken pizza's. I've only ever seen Mac & cheese slices at most pizza places but they add back which is a nice touch! It's super yummy. My favorite is the buffalo chicken slice. I'm a big fan of blue cheese and they sprinkle just the right amount on. Some pizza places haven't worked out their buffalo sauce to chicken ratio (meaning sometimes the pizza is overly spicy) but Villa Meci perfected it! I ordered the Villa Meci Hero, which is grilled chick., mozzarella, roasted red peppers and Balsamic dressing. it was missing 2 of the 4 ingredients, the balsamic and the peppers. A genuine New York slice! Seeing the big Grand Opening sign, I ordered a pie with garlic on a whim for lunch on Thursday. My hubby, a Bklyn native, and I were hooked. Our only regret was that our neighbor ate two slices of the pie and would've eaten another if I didn't stop her! Brooklyn/Queens/Manhattan pizza places for the most part don't hold a candle to the pizzerias on LI, and after seeing the eventual demise of good pizzerias at places like Howard Beach, Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, real New Yorkers know a great slice of pizza is not at the touristy overpiced areas, but at local guys like Villa Meci! This slice was thin crust, not chewy or "raw-dough" texture like at some other places, with good sauce, and not doused in pizza grease so you can actually taste the flavor. Another test, is leftovers. There werent any!! As other Yelpers have said, the ration of sauce/cheese/dough has to be right and balanced for it to be a great slice. I havent tried the other items on the menu yet but we surely will! read more

Often passing through Glen Cove and I'm always looking for a good Sicilian pie. Ran a search, gave them a call and discussed their Sicilian. The gent on the phone said "we are proud of all of our food" but recommends a few other pies first being a new customer. Well, we were in the mood for Siciilan, ordered, picked it up and was pretty impressed. It was an 8 slice long pie, different but more than enough and reasonably priced. If I could change anything, next time I'm going to ask for extra sauce, it needed a little extra. Based on this experience, I'm rating 5 star becuase we enjoyed the pie that much. We will be checking out their other pies very soon and look forward to it. Wish I could rememebr what those two recommended pies were. Delivery is fast, and the pizza is good (but competition for pizza is stiff in the area). Salads are good with generous portions. Price is good for the area. Heroes are hit or miss, and both eggplant and chicken Parm were burnt on the last few times we ordered. The eggplant was bitter, thick, and had the skin on. Pastas can be good, or soupy. At first we thought it was a weekend problem, but that didn't hold up, and we've had weekday disappointments, too. Sorry to say that Villa Meci is past its prime. read more

Even though I had just ordered the day before and I'm only one town over. I decided to just take the ride and order takeout. Not sure what happened but the chicken was totally grey and inedible. I made my partner take a bite and see if it was eggplant because it looked nothing like chicken.
