I recently placed a catering order for a home dinner I was hosting on Saturday 12/17/22 with close some friends coming over the house. I ordered about 4 days in advance for me to pick up at 5:30 pm. I arrived at Pezzi Pizza at about 5:35 pm and noticed that it was crazy busy with just Calogero (one of the sons/owners) and an employee working in the front. The phone was ringing, customers were ordering and paying, and it was chaotic with limited staff. I paid cash (approximately $285) to avoid the credit card surcharge and the employee helped me to bring my order to me car. I felt grateful that my order was ready and to leave with my order. I was about 2 minutes from home when my phone rang in my car ... "Hi, it's Pezzi Pizza, we forgot to give you your Caesar salad because the kitchen was still making it when you picked up your food." I was not happy to hear this and told them that I'd drop my food off and return to Pezzi Pizza to pick up the Caesar salad. My guests had already arrived at my house and I had to explain to them that Pezzi Pizza forgot to give me the Caesar salad that I ordered. I needed to leave my party and return to Pezzi Pizza. When I entered I again saw Calogero and the worker very busy working. The worker handed me the salad tray and I told Calogero that I wasn't happy to have to return to the restaurant for the salad that they forgot to pack for me. He told me, "we're doing the best we can." There were two words I didn't hear from either Calogero or the employee ... and that is "I'm sorry." That would have gone a long way and also some accommodation like, "I'm sorry tonight for the inconvenience but we're short staffed. Please remind me when you come for dinner next time and I'll try to make it up to you (e.g., a complimentary glass or two of wine). I live 5 1/2 miles from Pezzi Pizza and it took me about 1/2 hour to return to Pezzi Pizza and return home with the Caesar salad. That means I missed 1/2 hour of my diner party. The food was great! It never disappoints but I need to take one star away from my original review because they forgot to pack my Caesar salad with the rest of my order and I truly believe they could have handled it better when I returned to the restaurant. I was working and we needed to get something to eat. We were really hungry. We had our fill of deli food and one of my associates said pizza might be a good option. Right down the street across from North Shore HS is Pezzi Pizza. We called for a large pizza: half sausage and half extra cheese. We picked it up, but we could have them deliver at no charge. We sat down to eat and it was hot and delicious. I like thin crust and this was perfect for us. We enjoyed our pizza and we enjoyed each others company. When you smell food that smells great and its tastes great you know you have something special. Pezzi is a local favorite pizza restaurant and all the locals love it. I'm a Glen Cove native, and I must say that this is my absolute favorite pizza in the area. Nearly every time I have a pizza dinner at home, it's a cheese pie from Pezzi. The building itself is decent. It is bright and clean, though it lacks the feeling of a historic Italian restaurant. However, the pizza absolutely makes up for that! It is New York-style, but the crust is a bit thicker than most others. The gooey cheese is also quite thick, proving lots of juicy taste to the pizza in addition to sweet and savory sauce. What also makes this pizza so good is that it is done a bit differently each time you order it, making for some nice surprises while maintaining the same great taste. This weekend I took a trip to Glen Cove to visit my grandma. Our family is from Brooklyn and I live down the block from Grimaldi's. This place is legit. Made us a fresh pie. Super doughy. Way too much cheese. No sauce. Undercooked puffy "pizza". We've ordered from here so many times since it's right across the street but I have to say the last time was it for me. Pizza should be cooked and it should be juicy. When you fold a slice in half it should crunch, not be rubbery and flimsy. This pizza never has even when I asked them to cook it more. After a family emergency and a change of location for Christmas. My senior citizen mother went into order a tray of chicken palm. And got two orders of chicken palm and pasta for $55.00. This is not a tray this is two orders of chicken Parmesan. I don't know what they think trying to scam around people in the holiday season it's ridiculous. $50 for two trays of this and spaghetti up surd. I love their buffalo as well as their BBQ chicken pizza. When I really want to splurge on my caloric intake I order the penne a la vodka pizza (carb. loading) but YUM! Pezzi Pizza is arguably my favorite pizza place in the Glen Cove/Glen Head/Sea Cliff area. They offer up a lot of different and creative choices between their amazing Chicken Bruschetta pizza and tasty buffalo chicken pizza. Even their regular sausage slice is a step above most of the other pizza locations in the area as well... with Sal's Pizza probably being my favorite when it comes to regular slices. But rating innovation and creativity and flavor - Pezzi is the best. Pezzi's location is also pretty good. They have ample parking and good seating within the location - as long as you don't go during peak times (sometimes the lines get long). Also, it's right down the block from Ralph's Ices (read my review for that). Thus, you can make it an amazing Italian food night. And there can be plenty of those in the North Shore area. read more

I originally ordered a regular pie from Pezzi to be delivered to my gf and her mother based on a friends recommendation. They told me the pizza was delicious and much better then the one closer to them. Today I placed an online order for a Sicilian pie, my personal favorite. Upon picking up the pie I thought wow this thing is heavy. When I opened the box to my surprise the crust was thick golden brown and blanketed with mozzarella. Surprisingly the dough wasn't light and airy but at the same time crispy on the bottom. The sauce was delicious and well seasoned and the extra dash of oregano on top was absolutely perfect. I've eaten/ordered delivery from Pezzi many times. I really like their buffalo slice. However, they just lost my business. I ordered a pie at 837 pm (they close 10 pm). The pizza never came and when I called back at 945 to find out what was going on, there was no answer. We figured to give them the benefit of the doubt and waited longer. However, no pizza, no phone call, and no explanation. I called the following day to find out what happened. Supposedly they took it to my old address that they had saved on the computer. However, I was asked on the phone and gave my new address when I placed the order. I also never received a single phone call, even though they claimed they called (why not leave a voicemail if there is no answer? or call more than once?). When I spoke to the manager he was more upset that they threw out the pizza than knowing customers were hungry and waiting for food for hours. He offered a 20% discount, at which point I became even more upset because he hadn't even apologized after listening to me complain for several minutes. He apologized only when I asked him to.
