Today was the first day of my mom being at this facility, so far I will say the people are friendly. The nurse call button does keep going off for more than 45 mins before they even come check to see what is wrong, this is a concern since I am scared if my mom falls down they won't get to her for an hour. The physical therapist was awesome her name is Michaela. I will update as I see needed. I hope they improve the one nurse was on her phone when I came to see my mom Her name is Riana. I am pretty sure your not suppose to have your phone on the floor.

The caretakers and nurses were awesome but the social workers were not helpful when it came to navigating the after care we needed.

THE BEST THING WE DID FOR HIS HEALTH & REHAB WAS TO LEAVE POWAY HEALTHCARE (PHC)!!!!…read moreBefore I start, I want to give a shout out to Michael who did the intake on my dad. He was fantastic during a difficult decision. If I have to give a star, it is because of him. After intake into PHC, our experience went downhill quickly and it was terrible. Let me tell a few of the examples we experienced. - NEGLECTED TO HAVE CARE TEAM MEETING: They said we would have a meeting after 1 week of him being there to learn about the assessments their team conducted and the treatments he needed. 3 weeks later, we had to advocate to have a meeting. After the meeting there was zero follow up on pending items from the meeting, even after numerous emails where we never received a response. - SUB PAR MEDICAL CARE: The facility dr recommended a referral for specialty dr upon his arrival and it was never done, even though emails were sent over and over asking about it and expressing our growing concerns associated with the needed referral. It was also discussed at the Care Team Meeting...no follow thru. Additionally, when needing a doctor to fill out a form, it took over 3 weeks and there was an excuse at every turn. - COMMUNICATION IS HORRIBLE: Calls regarding healthcare changes or updates were inconsistent, emails were never answered, and when they said that a therapist would call with an update-it never happened. My dad's weight was dropping and they said the dietician would call...never happened. My dad fell, and 911 was called, the nurse could not explain what had happened or how long he had been there or even if they found him on the crash mat. - LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM: Our family found another care facility after 5 weeks of watching our dad's health decline. Three different people notified Poway Healthcare 72 hours in advance of the move and there was no response from PHC. When move day came, they acted like they were unaware, would not answer calls or emails, were inaccurate in their understanding of the laws around him leaving and release of records. The refused to let my dad go with the new facility. Only after the new facility arrived to take him did PHC reach out to me. They also then started making the medical appointments that were discussed in the Care Team Meeting - I am sure this was an attempt to clean up their records. - INTERFERING IN CONTINUITY OF MEDICAL CARE: It took them 4 weeks to provide the medical records for the treatments they provided to my dad during the 5 weeks to the new facility. We had completed the paperwork for the new facility to allow the release of records and when that did not happen, we immediately sent in completed forms they provided for facility. 3 weeks later, they tell of "their policy" for sending records to a facility. - READ THE OTHER REVIEWS: My dad was also one that was diapered, laying in bed all day in dirty linens, with his health declining rapidly. Loss of weight, mobility, and dignity was quick.

I am a registered nurse, and my standards are high. We have been very pleased with all of the staff, the caregivers and the leadership--as well as the activities and the meals. My mom loves being able to choose her meals (with help) from a menu. Everyone has been caring and have gone out of their way to be helpful to my mom. My mom has had several medical issues recently that required hospitalization. Both times the staff recognized my mom needed medical attention and acted on her needs appropriately. Not only that, they sent her a get well card with personal notes from the staff, and several of them have called to check and see how she's doing. I cannot tell you the peace of mind I have knowing that my mom is safe, well cared for and ENJOYING her life at Silvergate. We visit frequently (almost daily) and have never encountered anyone that wasn't kind or helpful. The staff always make you feel as if you and your loved one are important. Silvergate has also incorporated several family activities into their activity calendar (summer dinner on the patio with family) etc. Highly recommended Silvergate if you're looking for kind, compassionate and active memory where your loved one can enjoy their moments and activities. Although the facility is VERY nice, I was really surprised to see he was given a plate with several different types of foods mixed together. He kept asking what this was and what that was, and then he refused to eat. What really surprised me was that this is a facility that caters to older people. Gee, doesn't everyone know that children and very elderly people don't like their foods all mixed together? People like to identify what they're eating and the person who has dementia can't remember what all the foods are (and that they're safe to eat) if you can't identify them. It's just too confusing and it's one more bump in the road they don't deserve!

I want to say that making the choice to place Mom at The Remington Club was, in every possible way, made bearable and much easier with the guidance and help from the loving, compassionate, caring and hardworking staff. Not only is it a beautiful, clean and well-kept facility, you can see that the residents are very well taken care of and are very happy. I show up unannounced many times during the week and even on weekends and I walk in to Mom being loved on and she's kept clean, well-dressed and always beautiful. Most of all, I owe a special thank you to Marshall Spencer, Director of Transportation, who my words cannot begin to express all that he has meant to me and my family. Transportation services was a crucial deciding factor for us. If Mom wants to attend church services, or needs to go to her doctor's appts or just go on fun excursions, it's such a good feeling to be able to depend on Marshall to facilitate that for Mom. Whether it's a regularly scheduled trip or if she feels like getting out for a while, knowing we have someone like Marshall to deal with the driving services provides us peace of mind. Particularly as people age, they may deprive themselves of certain activities and enjoyments because they don't want to deal with nighttime driving, heavy traffic, unfamiliar directions, or the possibility the car breaking down. That's no way to live life - particularly in your golden years. He takes the hassle of driving off her hands. Please, if you need to send your loved one to a higher level of care try The Remington Club. You will not be disappointed. I owe them so much! What I got instead was a facility that treats clients like a revenue stream, not people. Staff conduct: Two front-desk staff -- Dani, and a coworker who wears blue scrubs "to look important" (her words, when I asked) -- raised their voices at me and told me to leave the facility. I then spent 3 hours outside in the heat arranging a Lyft and a last-minute hotel. While this was happening, I overheard them talking about me behind my back and scrolling their phones to shop online instead of attending to clients. Unlicensed staff, ignored medical needs: The CCTs supervising the housing unit are not licensed or certified. My documented conditions -- fibromyalgia, arthritis, severe insomnia, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, musculoskeletal issues -- along with my PCP's orders for Spravato care and knee injections, went completely unaddressed. I had no access to a dietitian despite my dietary restrictions and was essentially living on avocados, losing weight I didn't need to lose. Missing property, no HIPAA accountability: When I asked what would happen to my prescribed medications (prescribed by my own doctor, for use in my home state) since I wasn't allowed to take them with me, staff shrugged and told me they'd simply be destroyed. I left with multiple personal items missing -- two pairs of shoes, suitcase locks, toiletries, prescribed skin cream -- and was never given the property inventory I requested. Pressure tactics: After I fought for two days to be discharged, staff called my husband to try to talk me into staying. We didn't fall for it. The bottom line: Admissions promised reimbursement for my flights, hotels, and rideshares, plus restitution to my insurance (BCBS FEP). I'm still waiting. I have records of everything -- dates, costs, conversations. If you're considering treatment, look hard at a local IOP before you spend thousands of dollars and fly across the country for this. Do your research on Wings Recovery Carlsbad before you trust them with your care. #WingsRecovery #Carlsbad #PatientRights #MentalHealthAwareness #KnowBeforeYouGo #HIPPAA #HIPPAAVIOLATIONS #HIPAARIGHTS #CONSTITUTIONALRIGHTD A couple of practical notes: I left out the physical descriptions tied to the photos (tank top, etc.) -- for a public post, especially one identifying employees by name/appearance, that's the part most likely to trigger a defamation or harassment claim against you, not them, so it's the one place where restraint protects you rather than softening your story. If you do post the photos, consider whether your state requires consent to publish someone's image, since that varies. -SUSAN GORSKI Intake Date: July 15th 2026 Discharge By My Own Will Date: July 20th 2026. I will be more than agreeable to send ANY AND ALL RECEIPTS of my Flights, Hotel Stays, Rideshares and more once I hear back from Wings Corporate Office, especially from WING'S CEO, Carlos X. I would give zero stars if I could. Our loved one with Alzheimer's was here for one month. Why?…read moreBecause she got out, mid-day, and no one noticed. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan noticed an elderly woman with a walker headed down Midland St. in Poway. Sunview Gardens was ill-eqipped to care for her. The owner knew she had Alzheimer's and even assessed her! She had no problem opening the gate around the perimeter of the house. It is a very small facility; the staff definitely should have been paying closer attention. In addition, we hired a third party care-giver to stay with her overnight one day/night. This person notified us that a caregiver at Sunview literally yelled at our loved one for coming to the breakfast room before it was time. Stay away from this place if your loved one needs Memory Care.

My 84-year old mother, who's suffering from congestive heart failure, did not have the opportunity…read moreto stay at Sunview Gardens, as she was rejected by the proprietor, Felicity. About a month ago, I got the call from mom that no son wants to hear. "Son, I can't stand up". Mom ended up going to the hospital via paramedics where it was determined that she had previously undiscovered congestive heart failure. She already had crippling osteoarthritis, which we knew, but we didn't know mom's ticker was bad. After hospitalization, she spent several weeks in a skilled care facility. We started in search of an assisted care facility. Now understand that mom does have a budget, so it's fair to say that while we can spend some money, this is not a "money is no object" situation. Also, understand that I've been a businessman for over 30 years and I do believe in negotiation, where appropriate. The party on the other side can say yes, no, or meet you in the middle. I visited Sunview Gardens and I thought it was aesthetically quite nice. Felicity seemed like a strong businesswoman, and I can respect that as a businessman. We found a room that we liked and I thought we had agreed on a price, subject to an evaluation of my mother. I also liked the fact that Felicity told me that they did not have a community fee. We got close to admission time and were working on scheduling a day and time to evaluate my mother. Felicity messaged me and told me that she could not do the price that I thought we had agreed upon. Um...okay. Didn't like that, but I didn't spend a lot of time debating it either. Wasn't thrilled, but it wasn't necessarily a deal breaker either. She asked to e-mail me a message, so we could be "clear on fees and charges". In the e-mail, she mentioned a $1,000 non-refundable administrative fee and a $1,000 deposit which would become non-refundable if mom couldn't move in by Monday (this message was received on Wednesday afternoon). These fees were new to me and had not been previously discussed. Again, I did not rule anything out, but I was caught a bit off guard. I was willing to give her a deposit, that day in fact, but wasn't loving the "non-refundable" aspect of it. Further, I had not previously seen a non-refundable "administrative fee" as high as $1,000. The other similar facilities were no more than $500 and one or more were at zero. I asked Felicity, and this is a direct quote, "Also, do you have any flexibility on your $1000 administrative fee? When we looked at other places, the highest fee that we saw was $500, and one of them had no administrative fee." Her reply? "Hi Brad, I am not comfortable with all of this bargaining on our fees. I think it is probably better to find a facility more in your budget range. As you know, there will be level of care increases in the future, should your mom decline. thank you for stopping by and seeing our facilities. Wish you the best in finding a place that is more suited to her budget". So she made the decision to reject my mother and of course I was rather annoyed by it. It's her right to do that, and it's my right to be unhappy about it. The facility is aesthetically nice. My sister wailed like a baby upon learning that my mother's admission request was rejected. Both my mother and I believe that it was a blessing in disguise. While I wish her the best, in turn, I must offer a less-than-ringing endorsement of Sunview Gardens. I respect her right to make business decisions, but I do not have to like the decisions nor the way that she makes them. I also wanted to respond to my sister's ridiculous "counter-review". I did find a nearby room with a private bath, far, far more impressive gardens, zero community fee, zero admin fee, $500 fully refundable deposit and we were told to "take our time" about moving in. I sense that mom is going to get a much higher level of care from a team that I trust. Oh, and they came down $1000 per month. That's called "negotiation", and the owner is "honored" to have my mother stay there. My sister gets caught up on on aesthetics. Cute place. Cute little dog. She had this bizarre little fantasy about visiting her mother there around Christmas. Reality check Laura, it ain't going to happen. This lady rejected your mother. There's absolutely nothing wrong with negotiation. There's absolutely nothing wrong with politely asking about fees that are plainly out-of-line with the competition. Instead my sister attempts to justify them and Felicity's actions. How's that for loyalty? As a side note, as of this writing, there are zero dementia patients at the facility where my mother is going. Only very sharp residents. One was a professor who graduated from Oxford University. And unlike the situation with Felicity, I actually trust the owner and the husband and wife care team that will be looking out for our mother.
