I have loved Village Baker for years!! Today I had the Turkey & Provolone on Squaw Bread. The bread was tender without being chewy, the turkey was flavored just right and was the perfect thickness for a sandwich. My family also ordered the Garlic Cheese Bread... I cannot properly, adequately, or completely explain the perfect proportion of flavor & texture. The seasonings were delicious, the crunch was perfect and the cheese was perfectly melty!!! (We had to order 2 more to take home!!) This doesn't even cover the staff! Each person we encountered from ordering to leaving was kind and helpful and seemed to genuinely want us to have the best experience ever! We will return, without hesitation!!! read more

This place is mediocre. I came here believing that it was a four and a half star place but it wasn't. I got the Hawaiian pizza and it was super oily and mediocre. I took a bite and all I could taste was the olive oil, and the oil dripped down my hands! The chicken noodle soup was not good and it tasted a little sour... The chicken salad and provolone sandwich was good but not the best out there. This place is also expensive but their sizes matches the price. Update: some rude guy (who might be affiliated with the store) messaged me about this and told my bf that his reviews were a joke because he did not like this place. Good food, decent price. Been here a few times and thought I might weigh in. Restaurant is usually packed for lunch, but tonight I stopped in for dinner. A little surprised to find dirty empty tables. Someone forgot to come out and clean the dining room. My only other complaint is the Caesar salad dressing is awful. Prices were reasonable, and if you lack self control, be forewarned that you'll probably wait to order while standing next to a very impressive collection of giant cookies, yummy cakes, and other baked goods! It is INSANE to me that you would complain about the pricing at a restaurant. Especially when you no doubt had 10 minutes to look at the menu while standing in line because it is always PACKED with happy, repeat customers. I'm not going to give anymore of this review to John C & friends who have only ever give negative feedback on this app. Instead, let me give you some life-changing recommendations. Because I, like many of you, have been to Village Baker many times. And like a fine wine, it only gets sweeter with time (that's what I hear anyways). I was on my way to my brothers high school basketball game with my wife and anytime I am within a 25-mile radius, I am morally obligated to stop at VB. But on this fateful night I felt adventurous enough to try one of their specialty pizzas. And next to marrying my wife, it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Please let my gain be your gain as well. The Santa Fe Pizza will never disappoint. It never has, and it doesn't plan on starting now. Just imagine, white sauce, chicken and green chilies on thee most perfect Village Baker crust. Why are you still sitting here reading this? Just get it. Sandwich - I have been getting the chicken salad sandwich for YEARS. I used to go to the West Jordan location with my mom when I was in elementary school and it has ALWAYS been my sandwich of choice. And i'm not saying it's my favorite sandwich at Village Baker. It is my favorite sandwich. Period. End of statement. For your own sake, please get it. Soup - To be honest, i'm not a big soup guy. Feels like cheating, or an impostor in the disguise of an actual meal. But I have failed to get a soup here I have not liked. But there is one that reigns supreme. The Chicken Tortilla Soup. I drive 20 minutes, one way on Mondays to get it. And with every fiber of my being I give it my fullest recommendation. Treats - If you haven't noticed the array of treats they have here.... well, I have to assume you haven't actually ever been inside the restaurant. Honestly, you can't go wrong. But the cinnamon roll has a special place in my heart. It is huge and the frosting can be purchased in a tub and easily eaten in one sitting (not that I've ever done that *wink wink*). My last bit of advice would be; If you read this and end up enjoying this place like so many people do, PLEASE come back here and leave a review. I honestly have no other motive than to see one of my very favorite spots get the credit it deserves. And show that all of those who love this place aren't accurately represented by the sad John C's of the world, who are so quick to dismiss quality because of a minor inconvenience. We just got 2 medium pizzas for dinner and a few loaves of day old bread. Good deal in the bread, buy two get one free. It was 6.30pm when we ordered on Saturday night & it was about a 20 minute wait. The restaurant wasn't full but the whole place was busy. The pizzas were good, heaps of toppings. This is one of those places where a true love of baked carbohydrates can be indulged. My personal favorite is the bread pudding which unlike other ones I've tried contains great chunks of bread in it and a sauce that is sure to leave you scraping the bottom. My kids love their oversized cookies and for just about $2.50 you can feed each kid with a slice of delicious pizza, a cookie, and a drink which honestly, for a kid, how could you not love that? My last order was the turkey, provolone, and avocado on wheat. The bread is a meal unto itself. Each slice is nearly two inches thick! The overall taste of the sandwich was okay but seemed to be lacking the WOW factor that other menu items tend to have. The seating can hold a moderate crowd and the staff is super friendly. This place is great, had it for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches look basic in pictures but it's flavorful and the thick cut soft bread really makes it. I had 1/2 of the chicken salad sandwich on honey rye bread, the half size is huge. My husband got the club provolone sandwich and he's pretty picky about his sandwiches and he really liked it. Also ordered the Asian salad, it was exactly what I wanted and the honey sesame dressing was really good. My husband also ordered their pizza, it was good only complaint is the center could have been crisper, dough was thin with a lot of topping so made the center a little soggy but the crust was perfect. Had to get desert so we got the rice crispy and cinnamon bun. The rice Krispy was better than what I thought it would be, it was fairly soft and gewy just the way I like it. The cinnamon roll ended up eating it the next day and heated it up for 30 seconds in the microwave and it was perfect. We will definitely be eating here again. read more

Went in tonight for a cordon bleu pizza. It took awhile for the pizza. However, I've had this pizza many times before and it's worth the wait. Everyone was super apologetic for the wait and that meant a lot. I think right now more than ever we need to cut restaurants some slack as they try to adapt to new regulations. You might wait longer for pizza. However, the salad and sandwiches seemed to be flying out with minimal wait. There is a good reason for the wait though. What earns Village Baker 5-stars are the addictive desserts that I haven't found elsewhere. I especially love the Special-K bar, which is hard to stop eating once you start. Their chocolate cake is as good as what you'll get anywhere, as are their cinnamon rolls and lemon bars. Their sandwiches are also excellent, though I always ask to have the bread thin-sliced as it's a bit thick for me normally. I especially love the club and BLT at Village Baker.
