This place has staying power, which is a tribute to its consistent quality and convenience. A popular spot for breakfast or lunch, with plenty of parking, and a huge menu with choices to please everyone. Service is wonderful. Holly, our waitress has been there for Two decades. Prices are moderate and good value.

I wanted to like this place. I was told a line tended to form so to go early. I was the first person in the restaurant and I got the vibe that the staff was annoyed I was early, even though the locals were there like one minute after it opened. As the first person there, though I didn't get the best seat in the house. I was placed near the coffee bus station so I stared at a wall and the coffee station. Even with that, I was hoping the food would be amazing. It was average nothing earth-shattering. Oh, and they only take cash. Found out when I was about to pay. This is a locals-only type of hang-out. Not super tourist-friendly.

3 1/2 stars Nice little diner with homey atmosphere in downtown Pittsford. It is near the river but not on the river. Like most diners, the menu had lots of variety, including breakfast, sandwiches, mains. My 15 year old son had stopped there the day before during a fishing break and the staff was very nice to him. The next day we all returned. The men all ordered the meatloaf in my son's recommendation. My yelp friends will tell me that it doesn't look good, but everyone enjoyed it. I ordered split pea soup and salad. The soup was thick and tasty. Loved it. Service was quick friendly. Good place for breakfast or quick lunch.

    Eggs Benedict with crispy bacon!

Eggs Benedict with crispy bacon. Loved it. Probably my favorite hollandaise sauce I've ever had. Pleasant server. Clean restaurant. I'm sold!

I stopped in for breakfast. They had Potato Pancakes on the specials board - you choose how many you want. The sound of them tickled my taste buds. I made a combo out of it with two eggs over light and ham. I was hoping for lots of shredded potato held together with a little egg rich batter. Maybe with a hint of onion/scallion/chive to put it over the top. They were more like what I might accomplish at home if I'm not careful. They had shredded potato, but they had a lot of batter surrounding them so they weren't as crisp as I'd hoped. I asked for both sour cream and applesauce and the waitress obliged cheerfully. I asked how the ham was - was it thinly sliced? No... Well, it was three thinly sliced pieces, not one thicker piece. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I wanted to sink my teeth into. The eggs were cooked very well. Over light and no raw white from the "cover with a bit of water to steam the top" trick. I love runny yolks but I want my whites cooked, not slimy. They delivered. The coffee was fresh and plentiful. The service was cheerful and tried to be attentive. It was a great, Sunny later May Spring morning and Schoen Place was getting busy.

It's a very cozy building since it is shaped like a round tower. Coffee hot, my eggs Benedict were delicious. Great service and prices.

Omelette served with fake American cheese and canned mushrooms. Staff condescending. Doesn't take cards for payment. Will NEVER return.

It's often busy during peak hours, but I've always been able to find a spot on the patio. The patio is nice, tucked in next to the building. There's often some shade from the building over the tables. Everything that I've ever gotten from VBC has been delicious. The strawberry bliss cooler is my go-to since it's similar to a Starbucks strawberry açaí refresher, but the ingredients are simpler and the caffeine comes from green tea! I love to get a strawberry bliss cooler and an egg sandwich for brunch. My favorite egg sandwich was the Lilly, but since that has been discontinued, I build a similar sandwich with BYO.

I'm not even a huge almond person but this changed my life's trajectory (all roads lead back to VBC now). The Betsy was also great, I wish I got some greens to pair with it. Cheese danish wasn't overly sweet either. Not depicted is a vanilla latte, a tad disappointed with it but only bc everything else was stellar and the coffee pales in comparison to the food. Incredibly friendly staff despite the line wrapping around tables. Would not suggest coming here on a weekend after 10am though, it was packed like a store on Black Friday before online shopping got popular. Wish there was more seating!

I decided we should go for Valentine's Day! So here we are a group of 4, on Valentine's Day . Reservation was for 6 however our show ended early so we came around 5:30. Restaurant was empty except for a few people at the bar. Host was less than happy about us coming in early. We had no problem waiting. He reluctantly seats us. The waitress comes out rolls her eyes and then gives a fake smile. Maybe because our skin is brown but our money is green. Now to the food! Awful and severely over priced! We have been too many expensive restaurants that can walk the walk. Erie Grill can't even crawl. Caesar salad $25 (serves one, not an entree), chicken lollipops $16 end up being two chicken legs. The others ordered wagu meatloaf. It definitely tasted frozen. I order tuna tartar wontons (Nosh's Ahi tuna wontons would murder these) and a bowl of jambalaya (meh). It has definitely taken me one month to get over this experience. Nice hotel well that's all I can say! PS. Manager seemed to be "taste testing" booze in the back. Unprofessional!

Other than sweet treats, they also have coffees and teas on their menu, and a bunch of different dairy products. It feels cozy, local, and authentic - like everything is fresh or straight from the farm. It's actually part of a long-standing local farm operation, which makes the experience feel even more genuine.
