Had a really good meal with friends here! This was my first time here because I thought they were only open for breakfast for some reason. We stopped by on a Friday around 6pm and it wasn't too bust. I ordered a BLT, fries and their deviled eggs. I really enjoyed my food, nothing bad. The BLT was just okay, I think I didn't love the bread. But that's no biggie. I'd love to come back and try other food options. They had some really good drinks specials throughout the week and some cool food happy hour specials. I'll definitely be back soon!

A group of 6 of us stopped for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated right away. Drinks came out quickly as did the food. Our two granddaughters got Smash Burgers. They were very good and like most of the sandwiches, come with crunchy fries. I got the Crab Cake Sammy-a very good sandwich as well. The iceberg lettuce is kind of u interesting, but otherwise the sandwich is great! My wife got the Mixed Grill, a very nice mix of protein and veggies. Very fresh tasting. The others in the group got the tasty bacon grilled cheese and Tomato Basil soup, and the creative Chicken Quesadilla Wrap. All excellent. Service was great, and prices were reasonable. Definitely recommended.

The vibes in here are awesome. I had a quick lunch here and the staff was super nice esp my server Karma. The prices are very reasonable and there was a good selection of options. I had the chicken caesar wrap with a side of fresh fruit. The kitchen was accommodating to my allergies and offered great alternatives. I highly this spot for a nice lunch with friends and family. It's a true gem in Concord.

It was good. The fries were delicious. The service was fine. I did not like the pound cake. It was small and quaint. Not a place I will go back to, but there was nothing wrong with it.

My husband and I visited Village Corner for an early dinner one Saturday afternoon while we were shopping in Concord. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, and every staff member we encountered was friendly. We started with two drinks--I had the Watermelon Cucumber Cooler, and my husband had one of the beers on draft (Heist County Lager). Both were delicious and very refreshing. Since they serve breakfast all day, I decided to try breakfast for my dinner. I had the Corner Breakfast, with cheddar added to my scrambled eggs. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with fries. The portions were large, and both of our meals were fantastic! The croissant was especially buttery and delicious, and I appreciated that they served extra-thick bacon. My husband enjoyed his chicken with their homemade gravy. The fries were not all that crispy, but they had a delicious seasoning. We will definitely return, both for breakfast and dinner. What a neighborhood find!

Eddie Z here again.nothing special about going out to lunch anymore. Just more of the same burgers and salads? Better lunches at home. On the bright side, the service was good and servers pleasant.our second and last time here.

We recently went out for brunch at the Village Corner, marking my first visit, though my sister has been there several times and always speaks highly of it. I decided to give it a try based on her recommendations. We arrived around 12:30, and as expected, the place was fairly crowded. From what I gathered, this is typical, as the restaurant is known for being busy. Our server, Mazak, was exceptional--friendly and attentive--but it was apparent from the start that they were understaffed. Mazak was the only person handling our section and was also responsible for the outdoor tables, which were numerous. Due to this, the service was notably slow. It took a while for someone to come to our table to take our initial orders, and the wait for food was longer than anticipated. I ordered scrambled eggs, a side of bacon, and toast. The first item to arrive was the toast, which appeared barely toasted and looked like plain white bread. I asked Mazak if they could toast it more, and he kindly took it back. When my full order finally arrived, the eggs and toast were there, but the toast was only marginally darker. It still didn't meet my expectations for toast. Additionally, the bacon was missing, so I inquired about it. Mazak explained that the bacon was mixed into the eggs, but I clarified that I had ordered it as a separate side. He quickly put in the order for the side of bacon, but by the time it came out, I had nearly finished my meal. To add to the disappointment, the bacon was overcooked to the point of being dehydrated, crumbling into pieces when touched. While the service was undeniably slow due to the understaffing, the staff was as friendly as could be. The menu itself looked impressive, and I could see why others might enjoy dining here. However, my meal was underwhelming, and if a place struggles with simple items like eggs, bacon, and toast, it's hard to have full confidence. Despite the experience, I'd consider giving the Village Corner another try, perhaps after 3 PM to sample their later menu, which might be more in line with their strengths. The restaurant has a charming, locally-owned, neighborhood feel that I appreciate, and many folks seem to genuinely enjoy it. Hopefully, next time the experience will be more aligned with the reputation my sister and others have described.

Great service! Wished they had bottomless mimosas here. This was our first brunch here. We sat at the bar. I had a fantastic meal of the chicken and waffles! I didn't have to fight the bones on the chicken. It had a great crunch. My fiance had the worst biscuit and gravy ever. He saw my chicken and waffles and got those to go. Oh and the bacon with them was on point. My preferred mimosa in the flight would be the pineapple one. We most likely will be back since we live close but won't be ordering the biscuits and gravy again.

    Cajun pasta

Stopped in while driving through. The wait staff (Chloe)was excellent and the food came out quickly. It was also delicious! Had the Cajun pasta and the chicken and waffles. Sat outside on a patio in a cool breeze!

    Shrimp & Grits

Came here for dinner and tried the Breakfast Burger and the Shrimp & Grits. The burger was pretty good, you can't go wrong here. I don't usually like grits, but these were really good! Like, I'd definitely get them again. Overall, food was solid, the staff was great, and the place had a nice vibe. It's worth checking out.

Cute local spot. I'd seen the good reviews and was interested in checking it out. There seemed to be some tasty looking options on the menu, so I went for lunch one day. It wasn't busy and the service was good. I ordered the chicken & waffles which I thought were decent. The chicken could have used a bit more flavor and some salt. The waffle was different from what I've had before. They describe it as a pearl waffle, which is very sweet and you can literally taste the crunch and texture of the sugar as you bite and chew it. Didn't hate it! It was actually good. The next time I go though, I'd probably be interested in trying the shrimp and grits or salmon. I'm looking forward to returning.

Hot Hot Chicken Sammy. Good but it's definitely not a Nashville Hot Chicken like the menu says.

Firstly this establishment is owned by two sisters. They were absolutely amazing, the ambiance was nice, a small intimate space but there was room enough to get up and cut a rug! Unfortunately they will be closing their doors permanently. This beautiful gem is located within a shopping strip mall and is so easy to miss, the vibe here was so good I hate that I have not known about them up until now as I could definitely see myself coming here more often now that I have been here. Parking was plentiful! Service was slow, but they were down about 4 staff members so there was literally only one person taking orders, preparing and serving the food, so we completely understood. And plus the service was great so it definitely made up for it! They paired the girl scout cookies with the wine and had us score the pairing. The host was very engaging and gave us a description and origin of each wine that was selected. I've neve experienced anything like this, it was so engaging and well orchestrated. They had a small menu of items that you could order for small bites. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which was really yummy! And the garlic Parmesean wings, the wings had a bit of a kick to them and were a bit too salty for my liking, but they were cooked well and very meaty, if you like that sort thing! They also had 5 dollar drinks/cocktails available to order a well. The entire time they had a DJ playing all the hits and after the wine tasting, people got up and danced, laughed and had a good Ole time on the dance floor. It was such a great experience! I'm really sad that our community didn't show up enough to save this gem, I hate to see spaces like this go. But, I'm wishing the owners much success and blessings. Their closing day is March 14th 2026 and they are going to have a celebration, go out and support them!

I choose the Crack of Dawn Diner in Concord. I am so glad I did. Crack of Dawn Diner is the real thing--a local Concord breakfast-and-lunch spot serving traditional Southern fare at reasonable prices. The menu caters to local tastes, the dining room is filled with regulars, and the atmosphere is comfortable rather than trendy. Parking is somewhat limited. The private lot surrounding the restaurant was fully used so I parked in the lot next door that had signs that said private property, but it looked like other patrons were parking there also so I took the chance. As it turns out, it was safe to park there. The entrance is very welcoming, as well as the staff. Amanda was my very efficient and nice waitress. There is great teamwork here, and Amanda was well supported by, I believe, the owner who ran my food out and talked a bit with me. The menu is fascinating. A distinctly North Carolina menu. Several things jumped out: * Breakfast special for $6.59 weekdays * Breakfast plates mostly under $12 * Grits included as a side option * Livermush available * City ham and country ham both offered * Pork chops available for breakfast I ordered the country-fried steak with white gravy (essentially chicken-fried steak), along with two sunny-side-up eggs, perfectly prepared grits, a large buttermilk biscuit, and a delicious diner coffee. The restaurant occupies a stand-alone building with a warm, "come on in and rest a spell" atmosphere. Inside, you'll find counter seating, an open kitchen, and tables throughout the dining room. I chose a seat by the window overlooking the parking area. This was a great breakfast, that was reasonably priced, in a great atmosphere, with very nice people. It stuck to both my mind and ribs all day long. After breakfast, I continued on to downtown Concord and spent some time exploring one of North Carolina's most charming revitalized downtown districts. The breakfast was the perfect start to the morning. Crack of Dawn Diner has earned a spot on my repeat list whenever my travels take me through the Charlotte-Concord area.
