Came here today on St Patrick's Day. My friend got there at 6:30pm and was not acknowledged by the host. There was a person waiting also before her and told my friend that she was waiting for a while. When the host grabbed the other person for their table, the host didn't say anything to us. We stood there for another 20 minutes without being acknowledged by the host. At 6:55pm, I stopped a waitress and asked if we could get a table that was emptied and cleared off. She said she would grab the host, and the host never came but dropped off beer at the table right next to us and just stared at my group of 4. It's St. Patrick's Day- have more staff working for this holiday since you're an Irish pub and acknowledge your customers. We would have been more patient if she acknowledged our existence. This restaurant/bar has very good food and service. The bartenders are friendly and provide the table service during the day. The menu is covers just about anything that you could want to have for lunch or dinner, even just a quick bite to eat. There is a brunch menu for Sunday morning. The restaurant has a burger and beer lunch special, and also offers very good happy hour specials for appetizers and for beer, wine, and bar drinks. Stopped in with a friend on a Thursday night around 6pm, place was busy but not packed so no issue getting a table. In the interest of full disclosure the main reason for choosing this place rather than another is that I had a Groupon that was expiring. We each ordered a glass of wine which was ok, nothing special house but drinkable though at $10 a glass a bit of a short pour in my opinion. My friend got the French onion soup and a Rueben sandwich. She said both were excellent and she finished every morsel I had the steak tidbits with blue cheese and scallions. It had a very teriyaki heavy marinade but boy were those tidbits tender and cooked as requested, which was medium rare! On the menu it says served with garlic crostini, there were only two small 'crostini' and I didn't taste much garlic but since they were laying in the marinate that's all I really tasted I also got the onion ring tower which had about 10 onion rings stacked up, very tasty crunchy breading and served with a spicy chipotle mayo, very good even the next day out of the air fryer Our server was very nice & attentive though it took a little bit to a take out box, but it was getting more crowded when we were leaving. This is a sports bar so I'm sure it's much more crowded when there is a game but it's a nice casual place with good food and if you are a beer drinker quite a few options, the portions are generous and there should be something for everyone! read more

We have now stopped here 3 times on our way home from Suffolk. The first time we had a mixed reaction because it was packed and we barely had a place to sit. The later times it was more agreeable. What all three visits had in common was great food. The first visit I had lobster Mac and cheese, which was excellent. Most recently I had shepherd's pie and Donna had a Cajun shrimp poboy. Both were first rate. The service is always a plus and the wait staff seems to be in tune with the loopy vibe here. This one is a keeper. read more

Hey there yelpers, another tasty review coming your way. I had the luck of going to the Oakdale location of T.V.I., I've been to the other locations, and was glad I did. This was after we were intending on thing to another pub in the area. They were full, when I searched the area for a place to eat, I saw T.V.I. pub was right up the road (I wasn't aware of this before), that was where we headed. I went into the pub to see if there was an open table and to my luck, there was 1 in the back. (After the fact, I saw an outside area that we edited through, which I will say was warm) We were 3 and a baby, the staff were very accommodating. Our waitress Liz came over and I could see we hit the jackpot with Liz. She was on fire and in total control of the table and her area! Liz got us our beers fast, 2 pumpkins and an IPA! Start the fun! We started with the Bavarian pretzel, which was hot, soft, buttery and delicious. Also some mustard and "Bang" over the top! We also had the grilled quesadias which was overstuffed with chicken.....youza, and the ultimately delicious, 8 wings with the Parmigiano garlic......oh boy, kiss me now! And of course, the yum yum eat em up Mac-N-Cheese! For dinner, we ordered the Ahi tuna tacos, 3 stuffed with tuna and cabbage for some crunch! Since they were out of ribs :( I ordered something different. I got the grilled cheese with fries. :)! And Liz (wei was on fire now!), suggested adding some bacon ! Unbelievable, the grilled cheese was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! We also ordered a turkey provolone and arugula pannini, which was a special. Sum it up, T.V.I. but the mark in every area and Liz was the conductor of this amazing masterpiece, and of course, kudos to the kitchen for their masterpieces as well. You rock Liz! read more

It was just okay. Not terrible, but not amazing either. I ordered from here for take out for lunch. It was a dreary day and I was in the mood for soup. I ordered lobster bisque. This was the highlight of my meal. It was very creamy and had huge lobster chunks. Very flavorful! I'm still thinking about it now as I write my review. I also ordered the ahi tuna wrap. It consisted of grilled ahi tuna, avocado, mixed greens, wasabi mayo & teriyaki drizzle. It was good...but quite salty for my palette. I wasn't getting any wasabi flavor at all. I will say that it was a very generous portion of ahi tuna. The fries that came with the wrap were lightly seasoned and tasty. I only ate about half of the wrap and some fries after being full from the soup. read more

I can't speak to the service much as this was a takeout order, but the food was nothing short of outstanding and the staff I did encounter were super friendly. Had the "it's the s**t" sliders and they were really good - nicely dressed pulled pork topped with onion straws, cole slaw & cheddar, very well put together with some great fries. Wifey loved her sliced steak sandwich which I also sampled and thought was quite good. Junior got the kids sliders which were very tasty (gotta pay the dad tax kiddo), and while I didn't try the BLT my sister said she really liked it. Looking forward to trying more from here as the menu had a bunch more that looked very promising. read more

Why haven't my team and I eaten here more often considering we live like 5 minutes away. This was 4 star+ find with my and my Sous Chef where we popped in after a corporate event for lunch. Started out with the perfect Guinness Stout, then a piping hot gigantic pretzel served with spot on spicy grain mustard and a delicious upcharge nacho cheese sauce that was yummy, winner opening round. Then my Sous raved about the best buffalo chicken Mac and Cheese he ever had, and my burger with homemade kettle chips, Swiss cheese, sautéed onions on a perfectly toasted brioche bun was good not great, as it was cooked over my requested medium rare, more like medium well... Minor quip as we will definitely return and keep working out way through the menu. Forgot to mention how good the service was from the Bartender who was working alone taking care of the entire place. Plus Kentucky Derby race fans were walking in placing bets on that afternoon's race. Went back on a Friday night during Happy Hour and my whole perception changed due to the poor service and terrible food. First I asked if I could get a Margarita at the Happy Hour price, and the waitress said no. She had no idea what well drinks were covered during happy hour. How does a waitress not know what's on the Happy Hour menu and not suggest a substitute? Now our onion ring tower was delicious and crunchy served with a very good spicy dipping sauce. But the fish and chips was a disaster. Obviously the fish was frozen out of bag, small, completely overcooked and burnt with a terrible taste, and the homemade kettle chips were served over salted to the point they could not be eaten. I should have sent it back. Then why do they up-charge if you use a credit card, and not publish that in advance? That is the most ridiculous policy I have ever seen. First time here! Coming from Harley Davidson which is 3 minutes away. Sitting at the bar out bartender is very friendly. Order three Guinness which are tasting amazing. Ace is on making it a bit chilly but not horrible. There are 6 TVs infront of the bar and more all around the bar. The food was delicious! Big dishes but filling! Just had a recent trip to the village idiot in Oakdale and it was fine. Unfortunately, our server was the only server working the floor and she had about 8 to 9 tables so there was an issue with getting served unfortunately. When asked for a drink, we asked for water with lemon, and unfortunately that never showed up. We finally stopped the bus boy and asked him for help. We had ordered a iced tea and it never came. It was on the bill at the end of the night so we had to have that taken off. What was weird was we were talking fairly loudly about the service and the owner or manager was sitting right next to us, taking up an entire booth paying his bills. He didn't look up he didn't move he never said hello Nothing... Very strange for the food service industry these days as most owners have become very big in greeting customers and making sure they have a good time so they return. All in all I'll give it a 3.5 out of five as the food was decent but again I've had crappy food but a great server and still had a great time. I hope that makes sense. And next time hopefully our server and the owner can be a little more engaging. read more

The food was excellent!!! The service and drinks were just okay. We waited a while before being asked what we wanted and the drinks tasted weird. Another table also asked for new drinks. I'm not sure if it's always like this or if something wasn't right with the soda machine that night, but this was my experience the one time I've gone so far. My family's once 5 star opinion of this place has now dropped to a 3. We found the VIIP shortly after moving to the burbs a few years back and really loved that it was more of a gastro-pub with a really eclectic menu, great drink choices and warm service. We're regulars and were shocked to find that they've recently stripped their menu down to just standard basic bar food choices. I'm talking, menu cut to less than half with nearly everything interesting removed. While the service and drinks are still great, the food options can be had anywhere. I'm hoping management sees this and quickly rethinks its choices. I'd be hard pressed to think more regulars like us still see the appeal. read more

Please just don't go here. I asked for food to go and the chef blatantly didn't put the turkey burger on the burger, and gave us sour cream instead of bleu cheese for our wings. The service was terrible and when I went back to address the issue the manager got in my face and rose her voice at me, causing quite the scene in the restaurant. I wouldn't be surprised if the cook spit in my food even in the midst of this pandemic too. I've been there multiple times and have never felt like a priority in their eyes. I even went out of my way to try to support local business (because of the pandemic) instead of going to the local McDonald's and I was treated like shit there. I will be going to McDonald's next time. Corporate organizations do a better job at treating me like a neighbor than my actual neighbor does. ALSO- super cliquey. Then when we got our bills they automatically charged us a percentage for using credit cards when we were paying cash.
