Village Inn in Springfield worked for the basic purpose we needed: a reasonably priced place to sleep, shower, and use as a base while exploring the area. However, there were a few things future guests should be aware of. My wife found the motel online and specifically chose it because the information indicated there was a swimming pool. Springfield was having a very hot summer week, so the pool was actually one of the reasons we selected the property. Unfortunately, when we checked in, the desk clerk told us that they had not had a pool for some time. Somewhere between the motel's online information and the booking site, that information had not been updated. If having a pool is important to your stay, verify it directly with the motel before booking. The property itself has a pleasant, well-maintained central courtyard with grass, landscaping, outdoor tables, umbrellas, and seating. It gives the older motel-style property a surprisingly nice common area. The motel is also located close to the freeway, making it convenient for getting to other destinations around Springfield and Eugene. We had a second-floor room. There is no hiding the fact that this is an older property, but the stairs were wide and spacious enough that carrying our luggage upstairs was not difficult. Our room was clean and had enough open floor space to move around comfortably. It included a king-size bed, desk and chair, television, microwave, mini-refrigerator, and an additional chair. The room was not fancy, but it was functional. The bathroom arrangement was interesting. The vanity and sink are outside the separate toilet and tub/shower area. If you like bright bathroom lighting, you will certainly get it here--the vanity mirror is surrounded by approximately 12 bright globe lights. You may want to prepare your eyes before flipping that switch first thing in the morning. The tub and shower were clean, and the shower had very good water pressure. The biggest problem during our stay was the air conditioning. The room appears to have been designed long before today's hotter summer temperatures became common, and an air-conditioning unit has been added on an open closet shelf. Unfortunately, it struggled with the heat. Turning it to maximum cooling caused it to freeze up, while running it at a lower setting took several hours before the room became what I would describe as "coolish," sometime during the middle of the night. During a hot Springfield summer, that made sleeping comfortably more difficult than it should have been. Overall, Village Inn met the basic requirements of giving us a clean room, a comfortable-sized bed, a good shower, and a convenient location from which to find restaurants and explore the area. The courtyard is a definite positive. However, the inaccurate pool information and an air conditioner that struggled during hot weather kept this from being a better stay for us. read more

Very poor customer service here. Had a one night reservation made through Hotels.com. Checked in on the night I was supposed to arrive signed and paid for my one night reservation, checked out as scheduled. When I arrived home the next day I discovered I had been charged a second time for a second night, due to an error made by hotels.com. I called immediately upon discovering this error only to be told to got to hotels.com. The chatbots at hotels.com referred me back to the Village Inn. When I spoke to them a second time the clerk told me that the person who checked me in LIED and said they confirmed a second night. This is absolutely not true as i would have spoken up then. I signed for, was charged and paid for the one night I reserved, because of their antiquated systems I was not provided a receipt for my stay (so I can't disprove their claim with my bank) nor has the deposit been refunded. Both times I called staff was dismissive and rude. Essentially I paid $600 for one night in a dirty room that smelled vaguely of smoke and mildew, had uncomfortable beds with not enough covers, paper thin walls, zero amenities. If you are taller than five feet, go to a different hotel. The shower head output is at five feet, then for some reason they dropped the shower head by another three inches, so if you are under five feet tall, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. Otherwise, it is a yoga stretching exercise to wash your hair. How did anyone consider this acceptable????? The room I stayed in had one of those doors that allow you to connect to the adjacent room. Problem is, sound travels flawlessly, so I got to hear a drunken tale by my next door neighbor about his missed connection, and how he got the day wrong... Apparently in the modern age, there are three HBO channels, yet this motel only has one. I was unable to connect to their wi-fi -- they recommend turning off browser extensions, so obviously they are aware they have some sort of problem. TV is weird as well, have to choose like channel 85 to see the listings? Also, microwave has no actual numbers -- very awkward to use. Google maps really wants me to make a left-hand turn when going basically anywhere, but very unsafe.... I wound up turning right and then making a U-turn at some point. No breakfast (sounds like reviews from 2020 or so infer there is/was a breakfast???). The reviews on the adjacent restaurant sound pretty dodgy. TV is pretty small -- 18 inches diagonal? On the bright side, I didn't see any meth/fent deals like I did at Eugene's Motel 6!!! read more

Driver's license and credit card stolen by staff. The front desk was dismissive and rude. They do not take their maids stealing from guests seriously. I wish I would have read their yelp reviews before booking as I see others have had their items stolen and the same rude treatment. I was told their housekeepers would not do that because they turn in used shampoo bottles left by guests. My real ID that does not expire for years is clearly more valuable than used shampoo. They would not even question their staff or investigate. This is not a safe place to stay. read more

Take a look around and the first impression is that this is a dire Comfort-Inn level motel hotel, but upon your first interaction with staff, and upon first sight and smell of the clean and spacious room, your concerns can be put at ease. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic about their property, there's a level of pride that's there. In the morning as you awake the gentle gurgle of the fountain in the courtyard adds to the refreshing morning. The breakfast is in the back of the front desk area and it's not much to write home about but the coffee is fantastic. I think it's local? Anyways, for me the main draw was the location as it's the one closest to my planned activities in Springfield. I had a 3 night reservation but due to some error they automatically checked me out after the second night. They removed my personal property from the room. I left it there because I was expecting to stay another night. When I returned to retrieve my clothes, most of it was missing and was lost or still in the room which was now occupied by new guests. I also had to book another hotel room on short notice and higher rates. This is not a good customer experience. I don't recommend staying here at all. read more

Note: I rated this against other budget motels in which we've stayed. We paid $65 per night for this motel!! It's definitely the best budget place we've stayed in for awhile. It was clean, there were no bed bugs, and it didn't smell, so it hits my top three spots for budget places :) I only marked them down because the walls were pretty thin (we could hear the guy above us coughing and spitting), and the blow dryer didn't work so my hair was a little sketch. Otherwise this was a great little budget motel. They let us eat our "breakfast" an hour after the time listed, and the central courtyard is beautiful. The staff was friendly. The first thing you need to know, this place is now under new management and they are going above and beyond to improve from the previous owner. I checked in here on my way through to the coast after trying to find accommodations in the area that were less expensive than your typical Holiday Inn or Best Western. I didn't read any reviews and just took a chance. I'm so happy I found this place! I stayed again on my way back through a week later. First, the front desk staff is friendly, outgoing and super accommodating. They gave me a late checkout without an extra charge both times I stayed. There are free snacks in the front lobby and a list of local eateries. There is also a highly rated Japanese restaurant right in front of the Inn. I am disabled and I got the handicap room. Hands down, the best handicap room I've ever stayed in, including the ramp that goes right up into the room. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The A/C worked well, but some may find it a little loud. It didn't bother me. There was plenty of towels and mini shampoos, conditioners, soaps, etc. The room comes with a blow dryer and excellent, large make up mirror. They have a large heated pool and the hot tub is open year round. Check in and check out was easy with no hidden surprises. My only suggestion to management is an extra slide lock in the rooms for an extra sense of security for those traveling alone, like myself. I truly appreciated the 24 hour security person on site. I highly recommend staying at the Village Inn. It's nothing fancy, but they take extra good care of their guests! read more

We stayed at this crappy motel because it was $10 cheaper...big mistake! We paid $184 for 2 nights and the front desk ladies were helpful. I have no complainants regarding the customer service its the slumlord motel owner that should be shamed! The first room we checked into smelt bad. The comforters were thin and hadn't been washed. The tub was dirty and the sink had a ring of rust in it. I called the front and they were able to put in another room that was exactly the same but at least the sink wasn't rusting...but the shower curtain had mildew all on it and smelt like mold. You know that smell when you forget to take your wet clothes out of your truck from the beach! The beds were uncomfortable and felt like they had bed bugs. I lie to you not! Even my dude said he thought he felt something but you couldn't see anything...sheets were clean but we felt icky! This motel reminded me of the places hoes and their customers go to take care of their business! Totally disgusted. read more

Accommodating and was willing to stick with a deal I found online for the week or so I was there. The front desk was always polite and they had a decent breakfast too. The beds were big and so was the TV. The showers were always nice and hot (and stayed hot for a long time!) and they were conveniently located near many good places to shop or eat (Winco, Albertsons, Hole in the Wall, Dutch Bros, Carls Jr, ect). My only complaint was that the water, while not brown and with specks like some reviewers said, was still a little weird. It had a bit of a coppery taste to it. I'm not sure if it was their water source or their pipes or whatever, but it could use some improving. But overall, a comfortable and relaxing experience. read more

Clean sheets, cool room, and pet friendly! Late check-in was super helpful as we were spur of the moment stopping over for the night. The only con was the floor/carpet. Our feet were really dirty and I thought it might have been because we had gone to a park earlier. Then, after my son showered, I realized our feet were picking up all the dirt hidden in the carpet! I spent the night at this hotel in room 107. Well I don't no if I got shafted because I used hotels.com but everything was ok until someone went up the stairs and it rattled the wall and shook the paintings. Well I thought well someone must of ran up them or something but I was wrong it was every time someone went up or down the steps. This made for getting any sleep hard. When I was asked how everything was during check out I started to tell the girl about not getting any sleep and I could see by the look on her face that she already knows this story. So I stopped and asked her what I was going to say and she nailed it. then offered a quick apology and went ahead and collected all my money. We stayed on a meetup visiting friends... Ha know - I'd say the rooms weren't the cleanest... It's got that slightly dingy feeling but it's fine! The grounds and the customer service make up for it -not to mention the obvious - Frequent- visitors. It was a super fun place to stay - the pool is great - the lawn and courtyard areas are awesome - and this service was wonderful! Every person up front we encountered was super nice and helpful. I will say the sink water pressure was awful - the floor felt dingy. But other than that it was a great location and a score for the price!! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Frank at the front desk was absolutely lovely! Unfortunately, the rooms seem to have some smells that are somewhat embedded. The first room we were in clearly had been smoked in some time ago, and I asked whether it would be possible to move to another room. Frank was so helpful, and very kind about the request, and even went right away to check out the room. He put us in a new room, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the new room also had a smell of tobacco...and urine. It was the first thing that hit us as soon as we walked in, and seemed to be in certain places in the room more than others (not in the bathroom....but thankfully not in the bed!). We decided to just give up and stay in that room, since the other room had smelled too. I ran the AC and that helped a little with air flow, but the smell was not pleasant at all, and made the whole room feel a little dirty (even though it wasn't dirty or messy at all). We came in from Cali for a wedding and figured we would find a decent hotel. I saw free breakfast for the next day which made me super excited... disappointing. It's nothing but box cereal, instant oatmeal, muffins and bagels in a small room where everyone checks in and out. The room was clean but we weren't a fan of how the towels had lint galore.... drying off there were a bunch of pieces that flaked off. The bed was hard and had a very thin comforter, the sheets weren't even fitted they were top chests stacked and it just wasn't the greatest experience the front desk lady was in and out too much, I was unaware about a deposit before entering the room until I just got there. read more

We have used this motel many times in the past and had good service until recently. We reserved several rooms for our daughters' wedding and then, as per the agreement, called five days prior to the wedding to cancel all unused remaining reservations. The day before the wedding, we were told the remaining 12 rooms would be charged because they did not receive the cancellation notice. Despite the many conversations with both my daughter and myself, they refused to admit a mistake was made on their part and charged us. The manager kept telling me I needed to think of the potential business they lost as a result of holding these rooms for us and I explained that good customer service generates business. She obviously did not agree. And if this was not enough, my sister who did stay there had a horrible experience. The air conditioning was non-existent and they charged her for twice as many nights as she stayed, causing her bank account to be overdrawn. Apparently the owner is an out of state owner and would not agree to speak with me, leaving the resolution of this mess to the manager who I belive made several mistakes and refused to accept her responsibility in it. We will absolutely never use this motel again and would not recommend it to anyone. This motel deserves less than one star given our recent experience. read more

This hotel is every bit worth staying at. The hotel is family friendly and the grounds are beautifully manicured. The pool and spa is also very nice. The only negatives we noticed were that the carpet in our room was kind of stained. Also the jacuzzi is a little small ( but at least there is a jacuzzi). The pool is huge and my kids loved swimming in it. The service was friendly and we will for sure stay here again the next time we are in town. We stayed at two other hotels in Springfield and they weren't near as good. Lastly the have a great little fitness room and lounge area with a pool table read more

I booked this hotel with my family looking for a place to stay the night while in Eugene for the weekend. When I arrived, the room felt cramped. It did feel pretty good temperature wise, until someone took a shower. Then the room started to heat up. Whilst looking around the bathroom, I noticed that the ceiling had mold all over (see picture) and the corners of the walls were also moldy. The toilet paper was folded when I first arrived BUT it was halfway gone. It was almost as if the cleaning staff had folded the toilet paper someone else had before us. When I went to wash my hands, the sink squirted out water and made washing my hands take longer than it should. Honestly, I was pretty scared to take a shower in that bathroom. The one thing I did enjoy in this room was a painting called "Oregon Covered Bridge". It was very simplistic and gave me something nice to look at. They also had pretty decent morning breakfast options, and the front desk had good service. I would not recommend staying at this hotel for more than a night, but it is an ok-ish option for people who are going to be out most of the day and need a place to stay. We have stay in Village and really enjoy the place, the stuff was friendly and the rooms were very nice. I called and cancel our stay on 7/13. On 7/21 I found out that charge me for the 2nd half of our trip. When i called the hotel the lady said she will talk it over with the manager. Since I have heard anything, I called on 7/23 and the manager is off. 8/9 Called again for the manager and never got a call back. I do know on why these issue has never been taken care of . Stay 2 nights in room 106. After 9 hours on the road I was ready to relax. Great customer service when I walked in. Had my room ready and it was clean and ready when we got there. Pro's Just off highway, so if you are passing through its 2 turns into the parking lot! Simple rooms with no frills, as reflected in the cost! But I had a good bed and clean room! False advertising...the fitness center must be a mirage because no one knows exactly where it is. Their web site claims to have a sauna AND a workout room. I asked the helpless employee at the front desk and her answer was well I'm kind a new and I have never been there. I swear I felt like taking the broken iron and training her the hard way!!! Well, I said maybe you should. As for the iron and ironing board you have to go get it from the front. I was told to bring it back quickly as they only have ONE set and another guest had already requested it. REALLY...we only ended up here because its graduation at U of O and the choices were extremely limited. The room was clean and most of the staff was nice only one person was really clueless. Happy hour at the lounge/dive accross the way was ok. The lady poured a nice stiff gin and tonic. My take is go somewhere else if the rate is more than $60 for this place. I stayed here for a few nights while visiting relatives over Christmas. The beds are lumpy and springy and make noise every time you move, making it hard to sleep. The curtains looked like they had been moth-eaten. My sister and her fiancee stayed a few nights and were equally unimpressed. My aunt paid for the room which is why we stayed here, since she lives close by. Never again. read more

First they gave me trouble when I tried to get in to their 24 hour fitness room at 6:00 in the morning and we weren't even able to use their hot tub in the morning because it doesn't open until 10:00 am. This was an extremely overpriced motel. The quality of the room was on a par with a Motel 6, for about twice the price. During our stay, the water was orange with black specks in it. In my opinion, it was not drinkable. I didn't even take a shower. The motel is right next to a noisy bar with people drinking and smoking right by our ground floor room. When I asked for a reduced charge the morning we checked out because of not being able to use the water, I was told the manager would call, but I haven't heard from them. While visiting my granddaughter and son..we walked over to the smoking section and there were drug needles..a crack pipe...a bag of some kind of white drug...cotton swabs with blood on them...i was horrified. Don't listen to all the negative reviews. We were there and it rated up right behind the great hotels we stayed in, Hampton inn and comfort inn. But when I read the negative reviews I got paranoid. We were happy to see the hotel was as the pictures showed, clean, comfortable, grounds were very nice and staff was very gracious. It was nice to walk to restaurant on site and get a good meal at a good price. We recommend it!!!!! read more
