I have stayed at this Best Western Plus multiple times; however, over the past few months, I have experienced several issues and been disappointed with the service. Unfortunately, my experience this evening was particularly unsatisfactory. I extended my stay by an additional day and went out this morning at 8:00 AM. I left a sign on the door requesting housekeeping services, such as fresh towels, bed making, and trash removal. I returned intermittently throughout the day from visiting a family member at the hospital, but these requests had not been fulfilled. At approximately 5:30 PM, I returned to my room expecting the services to be completed, but they had not been. I contacted the front desk, where I was informed that the housekeeping staff had finished for the day. I also inquired about the signs I had left, which were printed in English--however, I was told that the house keeping is only Spanish. As I understand, staff members should be trained to recognize and understand these signs regardless of language, to ensure guest requests are properly handled. When I discussed this with the front desk, they mentioned that the only assistance they could provide was towels, which would require me to leave the room and obtain them myself, as no housekeeping was available. I then carefully placed the trash in the designated cleaning areas which was still open and decided to depart for the evening. The front desk stated they could provide me with an email address for customer service to file a formal complaint and mentioned that they could inform a supervisor, but there was no guarantee of resolution. I intend to submit a formal complaint regarding the language barrier and the lack of understanding of housekeeping signage. I believe it is important that staff are properly trained so they can address guest requests effectively. Additionally, Saturday morning was also frustrating. The breakfast service did not open until shortly after the scheduled time, and the attendant managing the breakfast buffet was quite unpleasant, displaying aggressive behavior such as pushing chairs as if she was truly pussed off and without regard for the setup. The breakfast offerings were incomplete at the opening, with no bread, carbs, or pancake batter available, which was disappointing. On a positive note, I appreciated that the laundry facilities included at least one washer and dryer, which were affordable and in good working condition. The availability of laundry detergent at the front desk was also convenient. However, the coffee machines--offering mochas, espressos, and lattes--have been broken since our arrival, possibly even before, and it does not appear there are plans to repair them before the weekend. Overall, I am disappointed with this renovated property. It does not seem to meet the standards expected of a Best Western Plus hotel. As a member at the Diamond or Gold level, I believe all guests should receive consistent and quality service, and I am concerned that this has not been the case during my stay. read more

Recently stayed at this hotel. I am a rewards member and decided to use points. I was traveling and asked for a quiet room as explained driving all day and needed to drive again next day, my family just needed sleep. I was put right next door to a sports team which was slamming doors, running hallways, yelling all night. When I tried to address the concerns at the time and later after checking out the management stated they are not responsible for other guests noise or behavior and will not be refunding the points. This message was provided in a email from manager after several times of trying to voice concerns. There was additional miscommunication with respect to breakfast hours on weekend as well. The BW headquarters eventually were only able to provide a minimal refund of points. I stayed at the Hilton only a few hundred feet away from this hotel just a week before and was super quiet the service was excellent. I will not stay at this hotel again! Mistakes happen but how BW acknowledges those mistakes is a true sign of service. read more

Upon waking up after the night at this hotel, I discovered a spider bite on my left eye. This bite led to a severe allergic reaction, resulting in multiple visits to Urgent Care. The lack of cleanliness at this property in my opinion led to my left eye being completely swollen shut, necessitating the purchase of multiple steroid medications, IV medications, and time off work. Even after bringing this to their attention they do not care. Do not bring your business here. I urge all potential guests to carefully consider the health and safety risks associated with staying at Best Western Plus North Springfield. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and the lack of responsiveness from the establishment raises serious concerns about their commitment to guest well-being. I'm a Best Western Rewards member and usually choose a BW over other hotels due to convenience and consistency. We utilized the hotel multiple times during the end of 2020 and into 2021. Each room that was stayed in was in great condition upon check in. I still miss a good complimentary breakfast from BW but we blame Covid for all these missing things now. I will say that the hotel does have billing issues much like other reviewers have mentioned. Strange ones that I've never encountered at any other hotel no matter how cheap or expensive. The biggest complaint, they charged my card for the full amount before the stay was over. When my partner went to pay with his personal card and a gift card for the room at check out, they told him the card was already charged. Meaning, my card that I used to make the reservation was charged the full amount. However, you can pay at check out with a separate card and maybe a gift card you earned through the rewards program they offer at check out. They wouldn't even reverse the charges and re apply to his card or gift card. I've never encountered that before. Even charging before the 11am check out is weird. Anyhow, we stayed a total of five times. Sadly we wont be coming back again for awhile if not forever. I'm a Best Western customer through and through but when you get a bad one it really stands out. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! Not only is this place under construction currently and should be closed. When having to urgently return to my room, the only entrance was blocked by a tow truck driver. He said i had to wait 10 minutes. I said, "If this is the only entrance, then you have to move." He replied."Don't tell me what to do!" I spoke with the employee on staff saying the only entrance is blocked. He replied, "I can't do anything. That's the owners friend." When i went back outside, i saw the tow truck driver drive the car onto his flatbed. This means he did not need to block the entrance for any reason besides his own convenience. Ignoring an obvious fire hazard. I decided to let this all slide until i heard loud hammering from my room. Spoke with the front desk again, and he reported that they were installing carpets in the rooms above me. This is at 10 pm! I work construction and have to be up early in the morning. My company was going to have a crew stay here for multiple weeks, but I'm going to cancel the rest of our stay and go elsewhere after tonight. At least the front desk asked the workers to stop any work involving hammering. Hopefully, I'll be able to at least sleep here for at least 1 night. The first photo is of the tow truck driver crossing the street with no straps on the vehicle. It seems he changed his mind by unblocking the entrance and finishing his job across the street. He said as i walked past him, "I took up like 2 minutes of your life!" I guess he shaved off 8 mins by ignoring more safety hazards. read more

Found out when our credit card bill arrived that they had charged us $300 for smoking in our room during our May 2021 stay. We are not smokers, we are an anti-smoking family. We are long-time BW rewards members with no history of smoking charges. The condition of this hotel was sub-par compared to our many other BW experiences but we decided to ignore it since it was only one night - that was a mistake. Very poor customer service - manager Steve Robinson never called us back to discuss the issue after we called the hotel twice. People make mistakes, maybe the maid wrote down the wrong room number. Or maybe there was a smoking issue in the room the prior night and the smell was still lingering. Who knows, we were never able to talk with management about this issue. Then called the main Best Western number with the complaint and started a file. After a couple of weeks I called them back and heard that this Springfield hotel was standing by the charge and there was nothing else that they could do to help us. Period. What?? I'm not sure what's going on here. Adding extra charges to make up for a poor year during the pandemic? Obviously won't be staying here again and will have to get creative about what step to take next. read more

Checking in we were told that the pool was still available for use, but there was some slight discoloration. We then went to the pool and found this green and algae mess which was more than a slight discoloration. We then went to the room and found there to be no toilet paper holder and a few rolls of toilet paper on top of the toilet. Pros- Massive rooms, comfortable beds and pillows (this is huge, a horrible pillow can ruin your whole trip), super clean, great breakfast options, good location to shops and easy to get to downtown Eugene. Super quiet too! I slept like a rock! Cyclists! This hotel is on the Willamette bike route! You can literally ride out your door and onto the route! Cons- Not many! One bottle of shampoo for two people? Odd, at least give us two bottles. We take a lot of showers as we exercise a lot. Very low water pressure in the shower. I get that all the appliances are water saving but I swear you use more water with those. It took me forever to get the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. A recent long weekend road trip found us in Springfield looking for a comfortable place to stay for a couple nights. After checking out the area we decided to lodge at the BW Grand Manor. This particular BW is situated in the middle of hotel row in town. Conveniently located right off the 5 with easy access to pretty much everything in the greater Eugene/Springfield area. The front desk staff went above and beyond to make sure our little break away was a great experience. From check in to check out Gloryann and Lindsey (front desk) were both very friendly helpful and kind, every time we saw them, both ladies went out of their way to say "hello"and "hoped our stay was enjoyable". As well as every person we came in contact with that worked at this property. Our king bed room on the third floor corner was large oversized, with a nice sized bath area, wet bar complete with mini fridge and microwave, several comfortable seating areas, a work/dining table and a small but private balcony with seating for two. The room overall was clean, comfortable and quiet. This particular BW also offers a decent free breakfast each morning, including eggs, waffles, breakfast meats, toast, pastries, biscuits, various cereals, yogurts and fruits, along with different juices, coffees, teas and milks. It's not a bad breakfast at all and was a nice additional benefit of staying at this BW. Ample fenced free private parking all around the hotel, that was well lit at night and secure. Again, all of the staff we encountered were all friendly, professional and helpful. As well, this particular location is pet friendly, though we did not have our dogs with us on this trip it was nice to know. A comfortable nights stay at a fair value for the surrounding area. We spent 1 night in a handicap guest room. Two electrical wall outlets were broken and would not hold electrical plugs. There were no handrails around the toilet. There was no bench or luggage rack so my aunt used the chair and I had to put my case on the floor. Our room was next to the laundry. My aunt was trying rest after out patient surgery, the loud noises from the machines and employees made it very difficult for her to rest until after 8:30 PM. It all seemed like an inappropriate setup for handicap guests. read more

We've stayed here many times. The rooms are spacious. Our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast had a nice variety also. The pool looked sketchy and there was a big hole in the hall ceiling on the first floor. Also the first floor ice machine was broken. Hoping they'll tend to these things. Was very pleased to walk into a warm room! Love hotels that turn on heat. However, the tv was not working and that was part of the reason for relaxing for the night. So, I checked in and out. The guy said they wouldn't take my points, they still did. Such garbage! Then I called and the desk guy in the morning said, "you should have checked the room first to see if the tv works." WTF! .. Before you book, call them and ask if cable/tv is working and if elevator is fixed. Never stayed in a hotel where you couldn't watch TV because they are "between services". This place was alright. We needed a place to lay our heads while travelling from CA to WA. This hotel seemed like it was slightly better than the Super 8 across the street. They are also pet friendly... useful since we had 2 dogs traveling with us. The area seems a little sketchy, but not the worst I've experienced. Check-in was quick and easy. Check-out was also quick. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was clean. Had a non-smoking patio attached. Microwave and fridge. A/C unit. Free continental breakfast. Breakfast wasn't the worst. But it also ranked equal to the other crappy hotel breakfasts. The scrambled eggs were clearly microwaved in a bag... but possibly watered down? Can't explain it... these tasted like nothing. It was like chewing textured air. Biscuits were stale, and gravy was way too thick. Buuuut the saving grace is the waffles. DIY waffles? I'm all over that. It's batter purchased through a 3rd party... but kudos to the waffle co.! Breakfast is served from 7am to 10am on the weekends. read more

This hotel was not at all what it portrayed itself to be. Many issues in our room and the hotel. First no disclaimer about the cable being unavailable. Second elevator was not working properly and we got stuck, not once but twice, between floors. No strainer on the sink in the room so water went every where and was hard to turn down far enough to be able to use it. Shower was on and could not be turned off. Phone did not work, reported it to the front desk clerk twice and could not get assistance. I get that fires are raging in the Oregon area however could not use the air conditioner, as it drew outside air in. Even when not in use, outside air was blowing into the room through the sir conditioner. When I asked the front desk clerk for help none was offered. The clerk on the night we arrived couldn't have cared less about the issues and offered no help! He didn't offer to change our room. The next morning no breakfast available, and when asked about the "Grab and Go" none were available. There were bananas and oranges...whoop, whoop. That says to me unconcerned staff, poor management and similar issues in other rooms. It was a spacious room and there was plenty of parking (an indication the hotel was not booked to capacity). Since there is a Marriott Courtyard and a Comfort Inn on the same block...we won't be staying at this Best Western again! This was not an acceptable stay! read more

It is a best western so expectations were already low, but this place needs help. If you need a place to sleep it will do, but If you need a hot shower 50/50 chance you get it. When we came in the front desk checked us in, painfully slow, but we got there. Just before walking away to our rooms the check in host said "oh by the way, you may not have hot water in the shower. Try running the sink and if that doesn't work, well nothing I can do to help ya." Best western, you literally offer two things - a bed to sleep in, and a hot shower to shower in. You are telling me you can't deliver on the second basic necessity? I had to laugh it was so absurd. Enter the room. It was freezing cold, dead of winter and the heats off in the rooms. Turn on the shower full temp, sure enough it's luke warm. Took about 10 minutes to get hot. Although a friend in another room didn't fair so well. They had luke warm water that only got colder. Then in the shower itself...there's no shower curtain to shower, but no drain plug to take a bath. Overall this place is just mismanaged and needs some operations help, bad. You'll be safe and sleep, but if you're looking for anymore there's 3 other hotels literally 20 feet away to go to instead. If you do brave this location, Godspeed my friend. read more

I should have read these reviews before booking through Expedia... I'll start by saying that the gentleman who checked us in upon arrival last night was delightful. And, the room itself was clean & comfortable. The actual issue that we experienced here wasn't the worst thing that ever happened--but the extraordinarily horrible customer service we experienced here is what truly earned this review. At about 5:30 this morning, we found out that there was no hot water running to our room. My husband called the front desk attendant who simply said, "There's nothing I can do--my boss will be in around 9:00." It would have been nice if he had at least given us access to a shower in another room. We would have been fine with that. But, he didn't. So, at check out I asked if there was any way that he could discount our room rate in consideration of the whole no-hot-water situation. Once again: "There's nothing I can do. My boss will be in later." So, then I asked for his boss's card--he wrote down a phone number on a piece of paper & gave it to me. Turns out, this was his boss's personal cell phone number which shouldn't have been given out & was not answered when I called. Later this morning, I called the hotel, trying to reach the elusive "boss". No one answered the phone the first couple of times that I tried. The next couple of times that I called the hotel, someone picked up the phone & then hung up. Before you ask, yes--I'm sure I dialed the correct number. About an hour ago, I called a final time. The phone was answered by the same fine gentleman who checked us in last night. I told him what had happened, he told me that the phone number that I was given was his boss's cell phone number, & then he told me that he'd ask his boss to call me "in the next day or two" to address my concerns. Perhaps, I'll get a refund for that $140 hot water-less room, perhaps not. Either way, I wanted to share this experience. If you visit this hotel, make sure you have hot water in your room. Also, don't expect much of anything at all from the guy who works graveyard (assuming he gets to keep his job). And, finally, don't be surprised if you call them & they don't answer the phone &/or hang up on you. Otherwise, enjoy your stay! read more

As a platinum member my husband asked for a late check out. They said due to double cleaning because of COVID they could only give us a half hour extra. We ask instead of 11am normal check out they could give us 12 noon. The man said no because the have a fully booked hotel for that night and needed extra time to double clean the room. Btw there was 5 cars in the parking lot that night before so I don't think there was many rooms to "double" clean. I called the hotel in the evening to check availability and the same guy said he had rooms. So in our opinion he lied and just wanted us to check out. We booked all our rooms for the whole football season months ahead of time because we planned ahead and knew the hotels would sell out fast otherwise. We get here today to check in and they say they switched us to a single bed room. Still charging us for a 2 King room and also not even telling us they switched our reservation. And all the front desk says is "I do apologize" . This is extremely unprofessional and I would also argue that my reservation that was made in June beats out some others that are probably getting the 2king room they booked. read more

If you are towing a trailer, do not park at the Denny's next door. There is no parking for trailers in the hotel parking lot! We were told that Denny's and the hotel had an agreement, that it was safe to park there, and there was cameras watching the lot. When we woke up, our trailer was stolen off the back of the car. According to the Denny's manager there was no agreement in place, no cameras and the place had a high crime rate! There were homeless all over the place the next morning. Apparently this lot has a high crime rate and is known for drug deals. Wish someone would have said something before I stayed here! Now you've been warned. The manager blew off the incident and didn't offer a thing to lessen the pain. A refund for having an employee lie to us would have been a nice start. This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The pool is open only when they feel like it and the pool guy is aggressive and shouldn't not have a job working with customers. We checked out early based on the abusive interaction with said pool guy. Who also got very angry when I wouldn't give him my room number. He didn't even look like an employee. They only had two towels for four of us and we were told we had to trade one to get one. They came in and turned off our ac when it was 111 degrees out. The staff is unfriendly. PASS IT BY!!! Especially Room #312!!!! One star as the location is easy access to the freeway...otherwise this is a horrible and filthy hotel! We arrived late, as was scheduled and the hotel was previously aware. We were traveling with two young grandkiddo's in tow and wanted check in to go smoothly as we were traveling from Seattle and the kiddos were exhausted from the trip. Upon arrival, we were told we would have to wait...they couldn't get the door to the room to open. Seriously??? When the clerk finally found a set of keys that "might" work...we followed the clerk up the elevator with what he hoped was the magic key to open the room up...kids stumbling behind and our luggage cart loaded down. I should have guessed...as the filthy elevator had the dropped ceiling removed to expose the above ceiling wires, etc were all exposed. As the clerk opened the door to the room, he began to cry. Yes...a grown ass adult man began to SOB looking into the room that was obviously in the middle of renovation with a large industrial fan, empty paint cans, trash and had not been cleaned or given fresh linens since the last guest had been stuck with sleeping in this place. In the middle of his sobbing he let us know there were no other rooms available, the hotel was completely booked! Long story short...we cleaned the room OURSELVES, changed the bedding and got the kids to bed as it was about midnight by now. No room key could be provided as the door lock was broken... All the while the clerk was an emotional wreck. We had to talk him through the entire process. In his favor, he did provide towels, linens and cleaning supplies for us to clean and have towels for showering. As others have shown in reviews, the rooms, hallways, elevator, stairways, dining area...are a mess and need a deep cleaning, painting and many repairs. Outside the window in our room...our "lovely" view...above the entrance with the pillars... was piled with trash and old broken furniture! The next morning we took the kids down to a cheap and insignificant breakfast, then to swim in a dirty, cold (unheated) pool. I guess the owner is too cheap to heat the pool as advertised! As we were leaving we had to wait to check out as another guest was complaining of the poor condition of the hotel...shocker! The only compensation we were given for a dirty, torn up room that we had to clean and break into...was 20% off of the bill!!! According to the manager...this was all the OWNER would allow. Best Western...you are off our list!!!! This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. I suggest you try another place. read more

My Grandma and I had a wonderful overnight stay here. We called ahead and were able to speak to someone right away without being on hold. Mason at the front desk was very nice and patient with us. The rooms were spacious. I even had enough room to do some yoga. The room was very clean and tidy. We woke up and and a nice hot breakfast. We would definitely recommend and stay again if given the opportunity. read more

This recently-renovated hotel is one of the best value-for-money hotels in the country. The renovations show a lot of attention to detail. While most Best Westerns have shoddy paint jobs with few amenities, this hotel is fresh with modern soft headboards, sanitized remote controls, mini fridges with freezers, comfortable and clean beds, decorative molding around all doors and entrances to maintain the southern theme, new desk and fixtures, a hot and free breakfast (waffles with strawberries, eggs, egg and ham rolls, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, pastry, etc), new big flat screens, and other amenities more common in a Marriott than a sub-$90 Best Western. read more

I booked my room back in January 2017. Got to the hotel the night before the eclipse only to find out that my room had been cancelled. They did not sell the room to anyone else, but they would let me have the room for about $400 more than what I originally booked it for. I'm told they tried to contact me earlier in the day to let me know my room was cancelled due to a wrong credit card on file. Amazing. They said they called. I have no record of a voice mail, email, or text. This is just wrong. This hotel owner cancelled my room so he could get it for more money. Hey, I'm all for making money, but at what cost? I did not stay at this Best Western property. Nor did I stay at the other three Best Western bookings that I had on my trip up to Oregon. I cancelled on Best Western. I went to shower l, jumped in, looked down, and there was someone else's clumps of hair surrounding my feet. Both tv and internet were not working. We used this hotel for our wedding party a few years ago and it looks like it has since been upgraded but its still the janky 80's hotel that it is. Our recent family reunion, we had other family stay there and we got a room as well. Front desk clerks were very nice and helpful but did not book us a room that allowed pets which was another reason why we chose the hotel. Between Expedia and BW there was a total miscommunication about booking the room and having a pet. It's only 20 dollars extra to have a pet but unbeknownst to us you can only have a pet on the first floor. When we came late night after the festivities with our two dogs the security people there said we were trying to sneak our dogs in the hotel. Why would we do that if it was only 20 bucks and also we live locally so we could have just not brought the dogs. After we checked out they charged us an extra $100 dollars to clean the room we stayed in because it was not an authorized dog room and they did not have us down as having pets. Same thing as below, we were given the managers email and asked for a refund since there was miscommunication. The manager said he would pass it along to the owner to see about the refund. I wonder if the owner has the time to do the job of the manager. Well basically we will chalk it up to poor customer service and NEVER book a room there again. I gave this best western 5 stars 2 years ago. This was my first time back since then. This hotel was in a total state of disrepair. From the missing TV when you walk in the lobby, to the missing ceiling tiles in the elevator. Our toilet overflowed during the night, and in the morning no one could find a plunger. I was assured our room/bathroom would be cleaned up while we were out. We returned at 6pm to find the same wet towels on the bathroom floor from the toilet over flow. Somehow our room had been missed by housekeeping. So sad to see this place go down hill so fast since they just finished an extensive remodel not to long ago. read more

Oh my goodness! What an awful experience!!!!! There was a mix up with our rooms so we offered to switch hotels but after a few hours they finally figured out a solution. The manager moved another bed into a room to accommodate our family. Mind you, we had reservations well in advance! After numerous issues and much displeasure during our stay, we thanked the manager the next morning for moving the bed and he was very rude about it. We should've just switched hotels after we walked into someone else's room during the mix up. All in all Id call this hotel the Worst Western Grand Manor! read more
