Will never go back to this place! We saw that there were no customers on our way to an event and decided to stop in for dinner. Now we know why there were no cars outside. The cook was absolutely horrible. Nasty attitude, yelling at the waitress so loud that everyone could hear that he didn't want to be there and we "should be happy and eat what we got" after the wrong item was cooked and served. The food we did get took almost an hour to be served and was not good at all. We threw most of it away. We should not have had to pay for the mess that was served to us and we missed our event waiting for it. I called the manager later that week. She said the cook was fired already because "we weren't the first ones to complain," but she did not even attempt to remedy the situation and basically just said, "sorry." well there was four adults two cats we each got a cup and one pot of coffee little did I know each cup was going to be three dollars because it was endless L O L most people 2 to 3 cups max if it's breakfast and it was only one pot of coffee and it wasn't Starbucks coffee so I'm very confused why it's three dollars a cup? Pros: very friendly customer service that was attentive and accurate. Cons: mostly everything else. It's dirty. The carpets are old. Food bits are on the floor. Dust accumulated in the corners. I will not be returning to this establishment! Let's start with the bathroom. My husband and I came for breakfast at 9:30. The woman's bathroom was GROSS! I know we should have just left then. We ordered our food. I asked for my meal to have the hollandaise sauce on the side of my meal. My meal was floating in it. I did give it a try. I understand mistakes happen, but the waitress when she finally checked on us (she did not run food out) my husband was eating his last few bites of the part of his meal that wasn't burnt. This place is horrible! I went here for the first time today. It took over 50 minutes to get our food and they said the cook was new.... allegedly. We went to leave and then they said oh, it's coming out now in a few minutes. 5 minutes later..... now over 50 minutes we got out food. It was terrible. We should have gotten up and left. Waitress was friendly is about the only good thing I can say about our visit today. The women's bathroom floor had so much water on it that I had to scoot my feet across the floor to keep from falling. The menu I was given had so much food mess all over it, I had to ask for a cleaner one. There was only 1 cook on duty, (during the lunch hour) that we were told it would be about a 30 minute wait for our food to come out... its now been almost 45 minutes, and still no food. Whoever manages this restaurant does a very poor job. It needs to be cleaned up some, and better staffed. This will most likely be the last time we will eat here. read more

Absolutely a horrible experience at this establishment tonight! Our order was messed up by the cook, my daughter ordered a kids grilled cheese, and we were served an adult grilled cheese. We disregarded the mess up and when we received another order there was a large black hair in the omelet. I walked to the kitchen and politely asked the cook to remake our order due to the hair that was on the plate that he looked at. He didn't say a word, and did not look up at me, turned away and threw the plate across the kitchen into the sink causing a huge commotion and probably broke the plate in the process. My husband and I had breakfast Sunday morning and we were very pleased (it was our first time here). Our service was prompt and our waitress was pleasant. Hubs had the chicken fried steak skillet, which he said was awesome. The chicken fried steak was huge! Very good, crunchy breading. I had the strawberry crepes with a couple turkey sausage links. Strange and Horribly tasting Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Either the oil/melted crisco (that bread was grilled in) was rancid or the No taste cheese slices were old or maybe both. It tasted MUSTY. And they overcharged me for a side salad. They charged me 3.95 instead of the extra 99¢ the menu offered. And when they didn't have any Blue Cheese salad dressing - I took some slices of onion instead. So I ended up paying 3.95 for some slices of onion to go with the musty grilled cheese. I spit out my 1st bite of the sandwich. Upon further investigation and attempts to detect SOME SORT OF CHEESEY TANG - DISCOVERED THAT THAT MUSTINESS WAS EVERYWHERE THROUGH OUT THE SANDWICH. The 3 different types of cheese Had NO Cheese taste to them at all, just some sort of mustiness. After tasting what type of oil they fry in, I would Seriously Recommend NOT getting any type of fried eggs or omelettes there. They'll probably taste MUSTY also. Oh and the waitress said she would give me the managers phone number and walked away with my receipt to write it on there. Everything that vould go wrong went wrong. From slow service, to orders coming out partial. My meal was so bad, I had to request it be taken off the bill. I had to find the manager and tell him how unhappy we were with the food and service. In a small town like this, when there aren't many places to eat breakfast, a place cannot afford to give meals that are sub par, or service that isn't on par. Since the new manager has been there the food service and all around experience is exceptional! There's a lot of new faces on the staff. The quality of food is completely at a higher standard! They are SOOOOOOOOO SLLLLLOOOOWWW! Yes they were a little busy but it doesn't seem to matter. I've been to this Village Inn 3 times in 2 years. They were slow each time. I sat down and ordered 1 hour and 10 minutes later my food arrived. I watched 2 different couples leave without receiving their order. The food was good and cooked correctly but you can't really mess ho breakfast food. It's sad to see this Village Inn be in such a prime location but underperform consistently. Came here for brunch today. We walked in and were greeted with a sort of dirty dish towel stench. There were a group of people chit chatting with a guy in a purple long sleeve and tie, which happened to be the person seating us. Visited Village Inn today on Labor Day. No one was tending the host stand and saw many tables empty and uncleaned. That should have raised red flags for us. Could tell the servers seemed frustrated and were short handed. We were seated and was greeted by our server. I ordered a coke.... she told me they were "out" of coke. I thought it was odd but changed my drink order to water. Next, she brought us a handful or brown rolled paper towels that would be used in the bathroom. Said they were out of napkins! After I ordered a hamburger, she told me they were out of blue cheese. Hamburger and fries came out shortly. Hamburger missing onion and I had to ask for mayo and ketchup. Also had no utensils!!! Not sure what was going on today but I could tell they were short staffed. Servers were also acting as cashiers. Manager was apparently cooking in the kitchen. He came out after other patrons complained and demanded to speak to the manager. Will not be back anytime soon. Get it together Village Inn!!!! read more

Dirty and I mean dirty. Food crumbs on the floor, coffee pots looked like they haven't been cleaned in a week, and that was on the outside. Coffee cup had lipstick from previous customer on the rim. Service wasn't horrible but was slow, I even had to ask for napkins. Carpet is very old and it shows. Surprisingly, the food was edible but the coffee issues had already disgusted me. One star is being generous with the experience My family had at this Village Inn. We were sat in a booth crawling with sugar ants and the manager seemed annoyed when we asked to relocate. Most of our food came out, but there were a few sides (hash browns, fruit) and sugar-free syrup that were forgotten by our server. No big deal. Our server disappeared for about 10 minutes, then showed up with the syrup. She came back out about three minutes later with a side of hash browns, no fruit. When she finally brought fruit, she apologized with our table, seemed flustered, and let us know she was ill and had been in and out of the bathroom and was about to be sent home for the day. This completely ruined most of our meals and more than a couple of us could no longer eat. The manager did not care and still charged us full price for our meal. Horrid!!!! read more
