I've gone almost every Wednesday for many months now. You get a free slice of pie on Wednesdays. The food is good. I especially enjoy the breakfast skillets. We've had mistakes with our food occasionally but rarely. The staff is friendly and accommodating, though. read more

This used to be our go to for breakfast . not any more !!!! Bad service and lost food quality. I want my Village Inn back.

Really disappointed in the entire visit from waiting to be seated and wanting to purchase a whole pie when leaving. There was a line of people waiting to be seated when entering the place. Took a while before anyone showed up to start seat everyone. Waitress was telling the table near us about being short handed today. After getting to order our food the waitress advised when our order would be next. Her next took about 20 minutes and our order wasn't right. Since it took so long to get our food we decided not to mention the order being wrong. My husband requested some butter for his toast and grits but had to remind the waitress at least 3-4 times before getting the butter and he had finished his eggs and grits by the time the butter was set on the table. When we were fixing to head to the register to pay we noticed a long line of people already waiting at the register and no one working the register. When the line started to get short my husband went and paid and brought tip back to our table. He had decided he wanted a whole pie to take home as so we waited for our waitress to get off of a personal call at the register. Instead of helping us she hung up and went to the table that we had left and started to clear it off. Needless to say, we left without being able to buy a pie. Should be able to give some negative stars when service is so poor from the time you walk in until the time you leave. read more

Stopped by this morning and got a bad breakfast. I ordered the spinach and bacon omelet and the onions were old and tasted so strong I couldn't eat much of it. The hash browns were barely cooked and I ordered those bad onions on top of it. I did tell the waitress the onions were old. The only thing that was good were the pancakes. The water tastes horrible and they said it was filtered? $18 in all for a bad breakfast. I eaten there a couple of times and it wasn't this bad. It ruined me on the Village Inn now. read more

Nostalgic Good Will Wasted! Oh how happy I was when visiting Florida to see a Village Inn (VI) when I was driving down the 90! It brought back fond memories of childhood in Colorado when we got to go to VI for breakfast. Sadly, I have to report problems with food, service AND management in only 2 visits there. Both were substandard. First visit, service was horrendous. I sat for 20 minutes without even being offered water or coffee in a practically empty place (9 a.m. and a breakfast place nearly empty should have warned me. Waitresses were chatting back by the coffee pots and could clearly see me. Manager blamed a new waitress who was in the back. But the waitresses could all see me sitting there with no service ... think they should have stepped up to offer coffee/water, or even telling my waitress she had a customer? Second visit totally killed it. My waitress was pleasant but unskilled. My omelet came was cold with cheese in the middle so cold that I could see individual, cold pre-shreds falling out. My first bite with cheese was like eating shreds straight out of the bag from the refrigerator. I asked the waitress to have the kitchen heat it more. She took my plate (with the meat) to the kitchen, then I saw her come back out to the service area and put it in the microwave. I watched her leave and dread grew in me about the quality of food I was about to get as a full minute went by and the beeper went off. As she came to my table I already knew what I would see - broken cheese with puddles of oil around the omelet. Since she did not stop and put meat on the plate, I knew my sausage was in there too ... which would be like cardboard. Nuking cheese too long melts the oils and breaks the cheese ... you end up with an oily puddle, which is what I got when the plate was set in front of me. I told her it was not acceptable and explained what the microwave did to the food explaining the puddles of oil were due to the cheese breaking in the microwave. She asked if she should have the kitchen remake it (DUH, of course). Next omelet came out and AGAIN, cold shreds in the middle. I told her it was cold cheese again and could she just have the cook grill it to warm it a bit (the proper procedure for melting cheese). She said that was all she could do. I watched her go to the register and tell the manager about the problem. The manager never came to my table to check on what the issues were. I have a SERIOUS customer service issue with that (poor management practice to leave a customer w unsatisfactory food and not try to immediately resolve it while the customer is at the table). I ate half of a cold omelet because I was hungry. When I went to the front to pay I advised the manager that it was "less than ok", and described the problems. She said that's how they do omelets. I told her that I am a cook and that omelets should not have cold cheese inside them, nor should they be microwaved for a full minute to warm them. She said there is a new cook who is training, so I recommended that he be advised to just leave it on the grill a little bit more to warm the cold cheese. She literally said "that's the way we do it here" and said the Village Inn procedure is that the second the eggs are ready on the grill the cheese goes on (coming out of the fridge), it's rolled up and put on the plate. NO time is devoted to allowing the cheese to warm to room temp let alone start to melt. The egg batter (I suspect a pre-mix which resulted in a flat, thin and rubbery shell) immediately cools from the cold cheese. I told her that a cheese omelet should have MELTED cheese inside, and she just argued and again said "that's how we do it here". So if you want an omelet, don't go to Village Inn. A cheese omelet should be light and fluffy from beaten eggs, with melted cheese oozing out when you cut into it. If you want management that cares about food quality, don't go to Village Inn. Decades of goodwill and nostalgia Village Inn had with me - wiped out. I will NEVER set foot in a Village Inn again. I see why this restaurant was so empty each time I went which should have been peak hours. I see why there are so many poor recent reviews. Bye bye VI goodwill and childhood memories. read more

We just moved to Pace and went to find some breakfast. We came across The Village Inn and Waffle House which is across the street from one another. We had an awful experience at the Village Inn in Pensacola and really ruined it for me. However my husband told me of his fond memories of always going to the Village Inn when he was a kid and the food was always delicious and the pies smelled up the dining room with such delight. So after hearing this out of my husband we of course went. I am so glad we did ! We were greeted right away by a bubbly friendly girl named Valentina. She sat us right away even though they looked to be super slammed around 10-10:30am. I instantly noticed the manager who was dressed professional and she was cleaning tables and working just like everyone else. She had a friendly demeanor while she did it as well. That to me is a great manager. Our server was Maggie and she was prompt, accurate and extremely bubbly which is exactly what We look for in a server. Fast forward to when we arrived home. We noticed that we both left our very nice very expensive glasses sitting on the table. So we called Village Inn and thankfully they were not stolen. Valentina was the girl who found her glasses and made sure they were put up for us. I am so thankful for the good people That work at the Village Inn. We will definitely be returning! read more

Staff was friendly however you can NOT change your order the way you like it. Therefor i will not be running in here again the food was ok.

Do not eat the food here. I found a straw that had been chewed on in my omelet . Enough said

Lots of flies in dining area. Slow service. Music much too loud, impossible to get seated away from a music speaker, staff says "not allowed to lower the volume". read more

My wife and I eat here 3 or 4 times a month, mostly at breakfast. It has always been clean when we have been there. We rarely have to wait to get seated. Sometimes, the service can be slow, but that is usually when the place is busy. The pies are awesome. Their hot chocolate, with a whipped cream topping is delightful on a cool evening.
