We went on Sunday eve as a family. The service was good and respectful. The food, on the other end, was not up to its expectations, I took Tuscany chicken and it was really dry, no flavor. Very disappointing experience. We had invited family to celebrate Christmas. Wait staff appeared to be high school age with very little actual server experience. Appetizers took a long time and were served at the same time as salads that were ordered with the entree. Entrees were servered separately over a 30 minute period with considerate guests eating cold food waiting for the last of the food to be served. While the egg plant parm got good review from my guest my dish had less the a half cup of mushy vegetables. I had orderd Italian sausage to be added and received 4 quarter size pieces for a $6.40 upcharge. We had to constantly ask to have empty plates and glasses removed. The pizza is good. Real good. The service on our visit was not. Real bad. However, giving them some grace since they were covered up with the cornhole tournament players. The atmosphere is nice, but they are currently under going renovations. They have a patio area but this particular week in July - it was so humid that guests were all crowding inside. The restrooms were almost completely blocked by an employee making pizza boxes who was clearly annoyed that we wanted to wash our hands. All that said, the pizza was great! Not the wood-fired Italian pizza we find at our favorite sport, but a truly superb American pie - a classic staple for sure! First visit, came for some pizza. This restaurant is located in Vickery Village. The place inside is quaint and comfortable; they also have some outside dining. The pizza was fantastic! We definitely plan on returning. They have a full bar and about eight draft beers. They have drink specials depending upon the particular day. I noticed them serving drafts in different, yet appropriate drinking glasses all dependent upon what draft you ordered. Service was great. It's been over a year since my last review and visit. My family and I decided to give Village Italian another try a few weeks ago and think they deserve another star! We had a much better dining experience than our first one. We went on a Thursday evening and were greeted and seated right away despite not having a reservation. The place was busy, but not packed. Our server was wonderful and attentive throughout the meal. We ordered the following: Fried calamari Small pepperoni pizza Nonna's salad Caesar salad +salmon The calamari was cooked well and plenty for us to share. My son got the small pepperoni pizza which he devoured. I got the caesar salad with salmon and the hubs the Nonna's salad. Both salads had generous portions and were very filling. First time coming to Village Italian, had our family from Ohio visiting and thought would be a great place to go. The food wasn't bad but unfortunately our server Katie was. I had to ask 3 times for box with container for my food that I was taking home still didn't get it till my husband ask. We also ordered a pizza to go even though we had ordered food we ate at restaurant. After waiting over half hour with really no one in restaurant, good ole Katie asks "Are you waiting for something?" We say our pizza, she brings it right out...who knows how long it was sitting back there! Not good service at all, never checked to see if we need anything and really no one in restaurant except a couple at the bar. The inside did have awesome lights and plants on the wall. So often when you go to a neighborhood Italian restaurant, the meal starts with a disappointing salad of pale pink tomatoes and tired iceberg lettuce. But not at Village Italian! The ingredients told the story from the first bite of those big, juicy red tomatoes with home-grown flavor. (I just wish they sold tomatoes like that at my local Publix.) By the time the main courses arrived, our expectations were high, but Village Italian really delivered. My chicken was tender and juicy, and everything was fresh and delicious. I didn't try it, but the calamari appetizer received rave reviews from fellow diners. This was Italian done right. The prices were good too, especially on daily specials: We had an excellent bottle of wine that normally sold for over $50 but was on special for $25. Other bottles were available for even less. With good food, nice atmosphere (on a beautiful day, go for an outdoor table), excellent service, and affordable prices, this might be the perfect date night place. read more

I went to Village Italian tonight for a dinner with some girlfriends. Two people got their meals and we waited forever for the other two meals and finally went and found someone. Our server never even came to see how things were or to see that we didn't have our food. By the time the other two got their food the first two had been done for a long time and we'd been there almost 2 hours, so we just got boxes to go. And then it took forever to get our check. Amazing, just amazing! This is our local Italian restaurant and we always enjoy dinner here. So, when I was planning our daughter's college graduation celebration, I gave my friend Nancy a call. The owner Nancy, was such a pleasure to work with and made planning our daughter's college graduation celebration a breeze. She offered the entire left side of the restaurant for our gathering which was perfect for our party of 40. And wow, she did a beautiful job setting up our pictures and decorations the day of the event! She suggested specific dishes and desserts to serve from oversized charcuterie board, to the various pizzas, to the pigs in a blanket (sausage), to the 2 types of wings, to the bruschetta, and the strawberry and cannoli dessert. And of course, my daughter enjoyed her favorite dish, the Bang Bang Shrimp. All the food was delicious!!! The constant care and attention to make sure we had what we needed throughout the afternoon, made it so easy to relax and enjoy all our guests. Nancy and her staff, especially Daniel our server, went above and beyond for us and everyone had an amazing time. Thank you so much! Our first time here after driving by for years. We sat at the bar and service was good. I ordered the chicken gustepie(?) and the flavor was good, but so, so heavy. The pasta that came with it also had a nice flavor, but way to much sauce on it. My husband had a chicken/pasta dish with a balsamic flavor which was a good flavor but way too sweet. Love this cute little spot in Vickery Village! I work not too far away and we decided to do get out of the office and try them for lunch. The weather was gorgeous to enjoy their patio but the inside of the restaurant is so pretty we decided to sit there instead. We got the Bruschetta appetizer that we all loved. And we wanted to try a bunch of things and we are a group that loves to share, so we ordered a cheese pizza (I would have liked to try one with toppings but one in our group is a vegetarian), and a chicken Guiseppe which comes with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes which was heavenly. Hands down...great 1st time experience. We were so happy to see Village Italian reopened their doors and were anxious to give them a try. So glad we did!!!! When we arrived we were promptly greeted and seated right away (we arrived a little after 5:30 on Saturday). We received menus and a wine list. The beer menu is listed on the food menu. Our drinks arrived promptly and we were given ample time to review the menu. While reviewing the menu we received knots with a large serving of marinara. Delish! We started with the fried mozzarella. It is 3 wedges served with marinara. They were great. Not overly fried and the cheese was perfectly ooey gooey. I had the Portofina. Oh. My. God. It was excellent. The tomato cream sauce is amazing. The fillers in the ravioli had a great little after taste kick. I seriously loved it and felt it was worth every penny. My husband had the chicken marsala. It was served with plenty of noodles and mushrooms. It could use a pinch of salt but it was really good as well. There was a party going on in the bar area and it was quite crowded. Our service was never lacking and we had our servers full attention. We appreciated the owner stopping by to check on us as well. I cannot wait to go back and try other items. The pizza menu looked wonderful and I know our 8 year old will be excited to try their pizza options. Entered Village at about 8:15 and no reception. A young man wiling tables eventually came to me and I requested to sit outside along with others sitting outside. I sat for a while and had no service so I flagged a server. They asked if anyone had taken my drink order in which I replied no. At that point I ordered a beer and my meal choice. The manager eventually came to me whom I asked about the bread and she informed me that she had some in the oven. Ad to this the Chicken Picatta of which I order at all other restaurant's was below temperature to a point the sauce was congealed. I decided to no longer do business with them and offered to pay for my beer. The manager said don't bother. I left and in the dissatisfaction left my phone. Got home, realized and went back.
