It's a nice convenience store, but it's a tad expensive. I'm really here for kabob night. Every Thursday and Friday they have been cooking these kabobs over this charcoal grill. They also give a good amount of rice, grilled tomatoes, pita bread, and grilled onions. An amazing plate of Mediterranean food. There are koobideh, chicken, and beef kabobs. I came in earlier today around 11am, I got a Cobb salad like I usually do, I'm not so sure what happened but it was absolutely terrible. The smell was rancid and it tasted terrible. Ive been coming here for years with my mom. The quality has gone down, the salads aren't like what they used to be. I tried to tell one of the workers but I dont think they understood me. I've been going to the village market for at least 4 years and always have a great experience! I've visited so many times for kabob nights, taco Tuesday, pizza/burgers made to order, drinks, or when we needed to stock up on 1-2 ingredients. Definitely paying a premium for the convenience but pretty worth it if you live at this complex or one of the other complexes nearby. I like how aside from the usual market items, the village market also offers chamoy candy, a wide variety of chocolate (didn't get to take a pic of the other sections but there's a good amount of milka brand options too), lavash bread, and more! Huge fan of their burgers and fries. The team is great but our fave burgers were always cooked by Sal! The market offers various deals throughout the week, our favorite is the $10 hamburger deal! My daughter bought a mixed nuts gift box from this store as a present for her dad. When we opened it and started tasting it, we immediately realized that the nuts were spoiled -- the taste and smell were clearly not fresh. We checked the expiration date and found out that the product was expired. We returned to the store to get a refund, but they refused to take it back and would not return our money, even though the product was past its expiration date. It was a very unpleasant experience. A young Latina woman who worked the cashier desk kicked me out of the store because I had my emotional support dog with me. She didn't ask if he was a service dog. Just said I had to leave with the dog. I'm really sad to have this experience. I enjoyed coming to this market during a walk. This is an awesome little market situated within The Village apartment complexes! It is super convenient having an all in one mini mart stocked with produce, dairy, different meats, grab and go meals, and fresh, rotating hot meal options. The workers are always super friendly many of which I know by name now and are accomodating with any questions. It is pretty busy around lunchtime as it is also near a lively corporate center of Irvine so many people will come grab lunch - be prepared to wait up to 15 min as there is usually only one person making/serving food. Some of my favorites are their cuban sandwich, pesto chicken sandwich, pesto/hawaiian pizzas, but most of all their kebab nights every Thursday and Friday night from 5:30 - 9! If you've never gone here during kebab nights you need to make it a habit to. I get the overpricing for convenience, but there's no reason for the subpar service here. I've only been a handful of times... first the cook that was rude over the phone didn't put my order in before going on break and left his coworker to pick up the pieces when I expected to pick up our pizza. Second, I decided to turn in my scratcher prizes & the young blonde woman at the cash register (no name tag) had the worst attitude and communication skills. I was waiting for a price check and she guessed the price of an item w/o scanning before "forgetting" to tell me that she was headed to break & her coworker would ring me up. Apparently her coworker was new and didn't know how to cash out for scratchers? Understandable. The cashier heading to break rang it up and failed to mention to me that they don't give free tickets when you win that prize, but they give you the price of the ticket instead. When I addressed her lack of explanation & overall rudeness, she denied it & said I could ask her manager to explain the policy to me. With seven tables outside of the market, there should be available seating if you want to eat your deli food on location. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time and Laina brought the food out to our table. She was really impressed with the size and quality of the breakfast sandwich. The egg wasn't overcooked and hung off the edge of the English muffin. There was a good size slice of Boar's Head Cheddar and the Boar's Head Ham was also piled high. She said it was one of the best, if not the best, breakfast sandwich she has ever ate. The only disappointment was the side of hash browns were on the small side and practically burnt. For the $5.99 price tag, it is an excellent way to start your morning. Rohlinism: The best way to start your morning is by not breaking your wallet on breakfast! The breakfast burrito was almost as impressive with a good amount of egg, cheese and protein, but too much starch made the burrito a little dry. The first bite was so dry it literally stuck in my throat as I swallowed. The menu says you are supposed to get salsa with the breakfast burrito, so I went back inside to get the side the menu promised. The woman behind the counter must not have had any salsa ready, but she did offer a chipotle mayonnaise sauce as a substitute which complimented the burrito well and broke up the starchy dryness. I had the same problem my lovely wife had with her potatoes, they were overcooked and it seems they ran out of hash browns since half the burrito had home style potatoes it. We split the pasta salad a few days later and the only complaint would be the dressing for the salad was on the bland side. There was a good amount of ingredients and the pasta was cooked nicely, it just needed a little kick to make it worth ordering in the future. The service here was helpful. The woman behind the counter acknowledged me when I walked up to the deli counter and allowed me to take my time when it came to studying the menu. Considering the convenience and deli prices which aren't prohibitive, this is probably a really good option for the residences of the Village Apartments for a quick bite! read more

Tucked away in the mall of the Village Apartments, the Village Market is little-known store pumping out incredible flavors from their little deli and grill. Hearty rustic bread, warm gooey jack cheese melted over perfectly roasted bell peppers, zucchini, onions and mushrooms. I could tell that the veggies were marinated before being roasted. The attached market was large, and had all the items you could possibly need to cook up a good dinner for the residents of this complex... and they would never need to jump in a car and run to the nearest grocery store. In particular, I recognized Asian and Italian products, which was really unexpected for a small corner market. I really hate to write this review because I used to order food from the village market all the time but I will not be coming back here unless I'm in dire need. The girls that work in the front are great, they are always super polite and accommodating... but the reason for this review is for the people making the food behind the deli counter. I ordered a village supreme pizza and asked for it a little crispy because last time I ordered it it was good but the dough towards the middle was slightly under cooked... so I get this pizza and it looks great until I was about to take a bite and noticed the bottom was complexly black. Like not edible black. And the top of dough was not cooked which makes me think that this guy was in a hurry and just turned up the oven to get my pizza out faster burning the bottom and not cooking the top, instead of just leaving it in for a couple minutes longer like I asked. So I walk back and hand the pizza back and ask if there's any way he could make me another one because the current pizza was not edible. He said no problem I'll have it out to you... I wait another 20 minutes outside while my family is at the pool all waiting for lunch and the second pizza he brought out was just a mess. No toppings and puddles of grease I brought it back to my family and no one would eat it it looked so disgusting... and this was suppose to be the come back pizza lmaooo like come on man you had one job how hard is it mess up pizza especially because it's not cheap pizza... it's like a $22 dollar pizza. And this is really shitty cuz it's my favorite pizza !! When I first moved here I would order it at least once a week then I noticed a couple months ago every time I've ordered it since then it's come out over cooked, under cooked , no toppings, or something else is wrong with it. The store was not very busy when I entered yet the service was slow. The clerk who pulled my desserts from the display case broke my tiramisu and just pushed the broken end into the container. Then I got a sandwich that was pre-made (turkey). It was standard and stale white bread with a little cheese and very little turkey (see the picture I posted). To put it in perspective the 7 Eleven across the street has better pre-made sandwiches. My understanding is that the food you order fresh is better but I don't care. You are represented as a business by the product that you sell. I wouldn't have paid even $2 for that sandwich let alone $8!
