Food was fresh, generous, fast and tasty (as was the service - okay maybe the service wasn't "tasty" but you get the point). Took the Godson here and he ate 4 of the enormous 6 chocolate chip pancakes. I had a California omelette which had veg, mushrooms, cheese and a half slice of avocado at the top. It was reasonably priced and service was warm and friendly (several water and coffee refills). Interior decor is old school but that is part of the charm - like visiting your favorite eclectic friend or relative. Godson already said he wants to go back. read more

Good to try at least once especially if you are craving Dutch pancakes, which are hard to get in the area. We ordered the Dutch pancakes, baked apple pancake, and hash brown. The Dutch pancake was a bit too eggy for me and the baked apple pancake was too sweet with a lot of excess syrup. Both were still solid despite that but prevent me from wanting to go again. Hashbrowns were solid. I think the restaurant needs a remodel though, it's old and a bit dirty. The vibes are very homey and old school though which was very nice and rare to get to get in the area. I got the cheese omelette with chocolate chip pancakes while my husband got one of the breakfast specials. Their pancakes are so fluffy and flavorful. The cheese omelet was extra cheesy and fluffy. Nostalgic no frills pancake house. Parking lot is small. Love coming here for the Dutch baby pancake. Portions are huge and service is friendly. We enjoyed: Dutch baby pancake Dutch baby pancake with fresh fruit Nutella pancakes Fresh banana pancakes Bacon cheeseburger The fresh fruit Dutch baby pancake was so good and it's served with whipped cream and strawberry syrup. I love this restaurant. It has been my favorite ever since we ate at the San Jose location on Almaden. We have been driving to Los Altos, as this is the only one still open and in our vicinity. I had my favorite Dutch baby. Please note it does take a minimum of 30 minutes to cook. My cousin had a Spanish omelette. The food was magnificent, our waitress was great and the restaurant itself is very adorable. Will continue to come here when I'm in the area. read more

We had the steak special, the Hawaiian pancakes, the strawberry waffle and oh my gosh... the house specialty Apple Pancakes! Run, don't walk. Serving breakfast until 3:00pm it is a Los Altos staple! The Original Pancake House at 420 S San Antonio Rd, Los Altos, is one of the last ones in the area. It is an older building with limited parking. The interior is clean, with a very rustic look. Our server, LUIS, did an excellent job considering how many tables were being served. He was polite, friendly and attentive to our needs. The dining room assistant was very busy cleaning and refilling beverages. My wife and I had Eggs Benedict, Hash Browns, Fruit Dutch Baby, and Continental Crepes. Now I have gone to other Original Pancake Houses and most were not very good. This location knows how to do it right! The Fruit Dutch Baby was perfectly cooked to perfection and the fruit was fresh and delicious. The Eggs Benedict was the best my wife had had. The Continental Crapes were outstanding and even the hash browns were crispy on top and tender in the middle. The Chef who prepared these took great care and was obviously a master at cooking these foods. I'm definitely coming back and if you want the true Original Pancake House experience-I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant. read more

I thought I would only have one but had to have another. They were light and the flavor was delicious. We will for sure go back and try the Dutch Baby. The crapes look amazing.
