a hand holding a container of cream cheese

I came in on a Sunday at the recommendation of someone. Customer service was okay. I was helped when I walked in. I had to repeat what I wanted a few times. The food: I got a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel was fine. However there was literally 1 egg, 1 piece of cheese and about 2 slices of bacon. It was STINGY. I got 3 bagels to go...2 honey oat and a cinnamon raisin. I asked how to store them and was told to keep in the paper bag and then tie in the plastic bag and it should last at least 3-4 days before she recommends freezing. I did as I was told. Had one on Monday and Tuesday morning I went to take a bagel and they were molding. From the one I was able to eat... the honey oat....I was not very impressed. It was a doughy bagel, didn't taste the honey and all the oats were immediately falling off. Lastly I got a small half tub of walnut raisin cream cheese. It was not even half a pound and It cost me almost $6. Even worse than the price was the taste. It tasted almost like it was made was sour cream or Greek yogurt. It was not pleasant and no one in my house would eat it. So I spent almost $15 on a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel, 3 bagels and a tub of cream cheese and nothing was great, barely over good, and most ended up in the trash.

Horrible price for mediocre food. The bagel was good and had fresh lox but the pasta was horrible and shouldn't be served. I paid $25 for this and a bacon egg and cheese. What has the world come to?!

The customer service is mediocre- meaning the serving time was medium to slow - from your order to them preparing it - to you paying for it and finally walking away with a stale bagel and lox w/ some chive cream cheese. Now, I get it, lox is not prepared at all places the same and freshness counts, tremendously, when it comes to smoked salted fish. But how can a bagel place serve STALE BAGELS! The bagel came with sides, I ordered the Cole slaw, which was vinegary, and I LOVE vinegar, so this was a very good Cole slaw! It came with a pickle which was salty and delicious. Also I asked for capers on my bagel, guess what ? NO capers. Mamma Mia... So basically all the sides were fresh and delicious, except the freakin BAGEL! I wouldn't return here. Get some "fresh bagels action" going on in here and I'll be back, until then, Asta La Vista Stale bagels! Do yourself a flavor and GO TO H&R BIALY BAGELS IN NEW ROCHELLE! Best bagel place in this area of Westchester. Ok

I held off on reviewing this place until trying their breakfast options, and now having loved that too, it's time to share the love. Beyond delicious food, other features make this place shine. The service is quick, and rarely disappoint. The tables vary greatly in size and location on the floor, catering to a broad range of clientele- families, friends and couples all can find a suitable spot. The space itself is large enough to feel energetic but not big to a point of chaos. Nothing here is overpriced and ingredients are invariably fresh. The full package. In short, it's become my go-to casual spot.

They arrived about five minutes before the rest of us and grabbed an empty table while they waited. When we got there, the rest of us got in line to order. There were maybe five people ahead of us and plenty of empty tables. Before we even got to the counter, the owner walked over to our friends and told them they couldn't sit down before ordering. They explained that the rest of their party was already in line, but he kept insisting "that's not how it's done here" and got increasingly agitated. My friends finally asked, "Do you want us to leave?" He replied, "I'm not threatening you," but it certainly felt like he was. If that's the policy, then put up a sign. Put it on the front door, on the menus, or on the tables. Don't publicly scold customers for breaking a rule they had no way of knowing existed. It was embarrassing, especially since these were friends visiting from out of town. We left wondering why the owner was so worked up over people sitting at one of the many empty tables while the rest of their party waited in line to spend money. We've always enjoyed Stanz, but after today we won't be back. We'll be taking our lunch business down the street to Bluestone instead, where we've always been treated warmly.

Truth be told, if you live nearby or just happened to be in the area like I was, Bread & C. should be at the top of your list to visit. Not because the owner will gladly give you something on the house because you only carry your card and don't have enough cash on you to pay for your entire order. But because that's how she is. And, it happened to me. You can tell right of the bat, Laurie has a passion for offering pastries and pleasing their customers. Regardless, Bread & C. has probably gained a lot of attention for the Croissants, Macarons, Cookies, etc. I seriously think though it's because of her Parisian-inspired Hot Chocolate. You're in for a treat. If you know me on Yelp, then you know I haven't had coffee in like umpteen years and when I go for Hot Chocolate or Hot Cocoa, it better be orgasmic. This was it. Top-quality chocolate is used because after all, this is Larchmont. The end result was the perfect balance of rich flavors and silky texture. It's a treat that was both comforting and luxurious. I've started shopping here in 2002 so I've had a pretty good feel of the foods they serve and what kind of service is provide f here. Very high quality food and a very high standards of customer service. People come dressed as they are , casual, work attire, or street attire. I am not saying that there aren't but I have not seen a brown person come in here. If they do it's not often. I normally buy the white fish sandwich, it spreads like a tuna fish sandwich. They also serve delicious hot foods, gourmet foods and various salads. Off and on as any business expects, workers come and go. I've always had pleasant interactions with the employees and satisfactory service up until 4/4/2026. Twenty Four years of exemplary service, says a lot about any organization that has high standards. I go in to get food from the deli section. A lady with a Spanish background says " how may I help you. I told her that I wanted a half pound of gigante Beans and a half pound of shrimp. She scoops up the gigante beans with no problem, now she goes for everything that I didn't ask for. I saw her scooping up three bean salad. Whoa whoa, I want shrimp she says you don't want this? I repeated , I want shrimps! She scoops up shrimp salad, me again! No, I want shrimp. She puts the shrimp salad back and starts fussing and making a scene talking in Spanish and the co worker is practically glued to her side. That's how close they were. I guess she didn't know what s h r I m p was. But I guess he helped her, I didn't understand She finally gives me shrimp but it's pouring over the container and she has to squish it down with the lid. I have to say, I'm not trying to offend anyone here, it's just what happened. Talking about no analytical skills or the ability to comprehend what I'm telling you. It's like going to McDonald's and asking for a sausage biscuit and they ask you do you want sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Nonsense! So she rings it up on the scale and tags it as smoked salmon and charges half of $29.99. I returned to the store, looked for the price, and asked the cashier what did the deli clerk sell me. He asked, who help me, and I said well since you asked. I felt like a snitcher, I let all of the beans out the bag, sir she did this, that, and ain't it is. (Southern vernacular). The cashier refunded $1.50 and apologized profusely. In all the years I've been buying here, I have never dealt with any employee that felt so complacent with repeatedly getting an order wrong and have the audacity to complain, for the lack of her ability to understand. I will say, I'll go back again and again because the food is really good and they have vegan options, I just won't go to her and if she's the only one I see, I'll ask for someone else to help me or I'll skip it for that day! But it won't phase me, I'll still... Inspire more, Yelp more!
