Absolutely nothing lil about this place. I came in at a weird time between lunch and dinner and was sat and served quickly. Thankfully, they still had cinnamon rolls left (!) and I'm so glad I didn't look at any photos bc omg it's a monster. And so good. It came with a whole moat of icing too which was so funny. It's 10000% better warm I also got a breakfast plate that came with hash browns, eggs, sausage, and biscuit. Everything on the plate was buttery, which was interesting. There's something to be said about those classic businesses still intact in an ever-growing Bellevue, including Lil' Jon's. I can't believe it took me so long to make my way here, but actually, I can believe it since I hardly ever go out for breakfast, which this place primarily is known for - classic breakfast entrees. Sure, they have a lunch menu of sandwiches, soups and salads, but breakfast is what you come here for. My friends and I went to Lil' Jon's for breakfast on a Sunday morning and yes, the place was packed, especially since it was a few days after Christmas, so everyone was in town. For the four of us, we waited for about half an hour, which we didn't mind. They do have seats/a waiting area by the entrance. I ordered the biscuits and gravy dish and we all shared the cinnamon roll. We heard the cinnamon rolls are a must-try, and quite honestly, I think you can skip out on this. We were told when we ordered one around the late morning that we were taking one of the last ones as they sell out of these babies, so maybe that's why the cinnamon roll wasn't all that tasty as it wasn't warm and soft. It tasted like it was sitting out for awhile, and was not easy to cut through which is surprising since it's dough. But yeah, skip the cinnamon roll. If you have to try it for yourself, note that it's massive, so is easy to share. However, my biscuits and gravy were solid. I love country gravy, which there was a good amount of, especially on top of the soft-baked biscuits. I would've preferred the sausage in the gravy to have been ground pork sausage, which is normally how this is made, but the cut-up sausage links were fine. I like that you can also get eggs however you prefer, so poached for the win! Anyway, Lil' Jon's is a staple in Bellevue that all Bellevue residents should try at least once. Dropped by the lounge and we ordered a rum and coke and a whiskey sour. Our "tall" drinks, which admittedly were inexpensive at a little over 4 bucks were filled with ice and very little alcohol. The rum and coke looked like a very light brown color, with hardly any coke or rum flavor. The whiskey sour had just sour mix taste to it. Not sure if they're watering down their alcohol bottles but won't be coming back here again. Not worth it at all! read more

Food used to be good here but this time not do much. Hash browns were greasy, even by diner standards. Ham was super salty. Fruit tasted off. "Wheat" toast looked like white bread. It's also very loud in the dining room. Most of the times we went in the past we sat in the lounge as there is usually not a wait and it's quieter in there and service good. Staff have all changed! We'd been coming here for years with the family but after the fire it seems a lot has changed. We had a very inept server and terrible pancakes (not just once but twice!) before we stopped coming here. Like rubbery pancakes worse than anything I've managed to make at home. Fast forward to now, I came recently again at the suggestion of a friend. Basically the ambiance is unchanged with the same family diner feel, very loud and bustling especially near the kitchen, casual but great atmosphere. Menu also completely unchanged. Food is so-so which is why it is getting three stars. Service was also still just okay. Neither warm/friendly, nor particularly helpful in contrast to what this place used to be. They came by to fill our coffee once and never offered to refill waters in the whole 60+ min we were there. Had one of the worst experiences in my life, and I've been coming to this little Jon's for close to 25 years. Me and my fiancé stopped in for a late dinner at about 745 on a Sunday night. Our order was simple... two cokes, my fiancé ordered a French dip with cheddar cheese, I ordered the Asian chicken salad. My salad was amazing like I've had dozens of times before, my fiancé got his French dip and there was no cheese on it. So he politely told our waiter "please can you have them add cheese and melt it". The second time the sandwich came back. It had cold cheddar cheese on it. Well, my fiancé was disgusted and said " I no longer want the sandwich" I told the waiter " please go make him a new French dip sandwich with the cheese melted.".... After we waited about another 10 minutes then we heard a female waitress say " oh where is the French dip... ". WHAT? Me and my fiancé both stared at each other.....They hadn't even STARTED to make the new sandwich. So my fiancé was livid & he got up and paid for our cokes and salad, and I said to this lady" wait you haven't even started to make his French dip?"? She said no they're starting it right now and my fiancé said " I do not want it. No, don't make it " It would've been another 10 minutes And we had already waited more time than we should have for a stupid French dip sandwich. My daughter and I lived in Issaquah. There were so many times were were commuting and stopped here, on our way back and forth from Issaquah . My daughter would be hungry after a hour commute to Seattle. My parents lived in shoreline. I was attending Seattle University several times a week. This is important when you have a cranky underage diner. Nicely poached egg, crispy hash browns and crunchy bacon. Pancakes slightly overdone, but still great. Friendly service. A good variety of choices for breakfast foods, especially for my picky eater. For me, they always seemed happy to see us. We often showed up not only for food, but for a pleasant interaction to balance stressful ones outside the restaurant. This made coming home a much better experience. Many positive experiences here. Love the Cinnamon Rolls! Nostalgic setting, this place has been around for a long time...an old school diner!

Like Dennys but a fancy one with no crime because it's Bellevue. We ordered an omelette and a plate of French fries (because there's next to nothing on the menu gluten free). They need more staff and a better manager. We watched our food sit on the pickup window under warmers more than ten minutes, while she took the orders of three other tables and put them all in the computer. No one else thought to run food for her. When she was finally free enough to get the food to us the fries were cold and we had to send them back. She did give attitude at the send back. Instead of making a new order they threw them back into the fryer to warm them, but again she was busy with another set of multiple tables being seated so couldn't get them to us quickly. After bringing back the fries we never saw her till she brought the check. We had to flag down someone in a mask (cashier?busier?manager?) to ask him for water refills. Instead he brought one of us a fresh new glass but skipped the other one. The omelette was okay for being all toppings folded inside not mixed in. Definitely a fair price for what it is. Now we can say we tried it. The price was reasonable but with the lack of food runners and no apparent management even when something is sent back to the kitchen because it got cold before getting to a table; this place at least for breakfast is one tiny step above a dennys. read more

We had chicken wings, onion rings and potato skins for appetizers. They were all very yummy. Chicken wings were perfectly cooked and spiced! Onion rings were super yummy! Juicy onion rings covered in a nice crunchy breading. Potato Skins were filled with bacon and cheese. Very lovely to eat! My daughter had the chicken teriyaki dinner and enjoyed it.
