Previous visit was on 6/30/24. Time for an update with my recent takeout order on 3/20/26. Still enjoy the same the location adjacent to Main Street. I had not eaten yet, had only a mocha earlier, felt ravenous since it was already mid afternoon. So to make it worth the gas, toll, and time spent in traffic heading back west then north, I placed an order for two double cheeseburgers and one each of their chocolate and peanut butter milkshakes. On point, friendly customer service and efficient kitchen crew. Ambience - comfortably dated and clean. I was the only person there. But after using the restroom (note - very clean), there were at least five other people ordering or in line. Like mentioned before, the chocolate milkshake hit the spot driving back to Shoreline. After arriving at home, The Homie devoured his double cheeseburger and peanut butter milkshake. I added additional ketchup onto my burger and did the same. I really like the old school vibe of this place. Service was very friendly and down to earth, they even gave shake recommendations and answered menu questions. Food came out fast. I got the double cheeseburger this time and the patties are thick, very filling. We also got the black raspberry milkshake, which I thought was fantastic. Super creamy, a little fluffy, and not icy at all. Great prices considering Bellevue. Honestly, when I eat in Bellevue I oftentimes find the price does not justify the food and portion sizes. I come here often and most of the time when I come in here I always get greeted right away from the employees and the burgers are very affordable and I got good deals as well too though most of the time I'll get a cheeseburgers or fries today I decided to get some fried zucchinis with ranch and the ranch is really delicious and when I go there, it's most packed so you know the food is delicious when it is packed. Got a lot more on this carryout visit, and as a whole, the group thought it was good. Stopped in about 5 minutes before scheduled opening (11am), and was the 2nd person. You order and pay (they accept credit card), then wait for your order (in my case, it was 15 minutes). That gave me time to collect condiments, etc. (they have a self serve soda machine). In the meanwhile, people kept coming in and everyone (except one) were nearby construction workers looking for a sit-down burger lunch. They use real fresh vegetables here for the burger (shredded lettuce, and nice looking tomato slices). I think the chicken sandwich is what took the most time. Cheeseburger ($6.69) - tasty beef, large toasted bun, fresh toppings. BBQ Chicken ($8.990 - same large size as burger, skinless non breaded chicken breast. Definitely filling. Phili Cheesesteak ($10.99) - it was OK. Good mix of ingredients, but unlike the burgers, had too little meat. Each bite was mostly bread and gooey cheese, would be good if you could double (or triple) the amount of meat. French fries ($4.99) - well fried steak sized fries, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Onion Rings ($4.99) - they are known for these and I can see why...though considering this should have been the first batch of the day, strangely most if it was badly fried (super greasy and very limp). A bit disappointing, though for the price, a good deal. I don't think they have an official website...the one that google routes you to, has prices that are very old (more than 50% less than actual). I can't believe I never wrote a review. I used to work in Bellevue and I have eaten at Broiler Bay many times. Any time I find myself back in Bellevue I make sure to get lunch here. A hole in the wall with amazing burgers. I always get the same things - a double bacon cheeseburger (no lettuce or tomatoes - add extra pickles) and a french fries. And they have delicious fry sauce. I then don't have to eat again until the next day (and I usually have to take home some of the fries) - it is so big. It reminds me of the late great Dave's Burgers in Lynnwood. Excellent! read more

This place is kind of tucked away, I only found it because of Yelp! My parents and I walked in on a Saturday night around 6pm and there were a few other people inside waiting for their to-go orders. There were a few tables inside to sit at and our order took about 10mins to come out. The burger was good, but the bun was quite large, so it felt like a lot of bread. The onion rings and the milkshakes were my favorite part! We tried the rootbeer and the seasonal eggnog shakes and they were delicious. Got a gift certificate to give, filled out by a friendly female server because she said the guys didn't have very good handwriting. Decided to order a couple of burgers since I heard they were so good. Didn't have to wait too long before my order was up. Took them home to eat: they were delicious! They were busy taking orders with guys waiting, orders by phone too. It's a hole in the wall off of 107th, but apparently there is seating behind the kitchen. You can see them broiling the burgers! Dirty and run down with rude slow service. Nathaniel (shaved head goes by nate), got upset with my 5 year old for asking for more milk in his milk shake. I had spent $12 and added a 2$ tip already and Nate wanted to charge another $3 to add more milk. It would have been a $17 milk shake. Definately not worth that ... when my five year old got upset, Nate flicked him off as we drove away. Really really sad. The place will likely be leveled and be a skyscraper soon, and I think the owners are just riding it out with a staff that knows they will be laid off soon but can't find a job any where else. I kinda felt duped by the photos with pricing on Yelp. On the page for this listing it shows various burgers at $4 - $5 price point. And other reviews that said you could a burger, fries and drink for $10 and under. This is definitely not true. My son got the bacon cheeseburger which was $8 and some change, onion rings which were $4.99 and a shake. The total for his meal was $21. Which is average market price but compared to what I saw on Yelp, it was vastly different. But even when we walked in and saw the different prices, because all the ratings were a 4&5 star, decided we would give it ago. First the burger patty is thin and is overwhelmed by such a big and thick bun. The toppings were fresh, the bacon fried crispy and delicious. Overall the burger was alright. 3/5. Nothing we'd come back for though. The onion rings were most definitely flowing out of the bag. They were hot and fresh and a little on the oily side. The batter was nice though. Crispy and not too thick just a little laden with oil. Service was good. It was an easy encounter, you walk in and order at the counter. They have a self service station for napkins, ketchup, the sauce they make, and some hot sauces. Plenty of seating inside. A few seats at a side counter and 4 tables in a back room. There is additional seating outside as well. 4/5 for cleanliness. Tables were cleaned when we sat down and they immediately cleaned tables when someone left. I definitely respect and appreciate this. The Mighty Broiler Bay! This is officially, out of all other establishments in Bellevue, the city's true hidden gem. Even many locals don't know about it as it is tucked rather anonymously into an aging mini mall on the southern part of downtown the likes of which most others have been bulldozed in recent years to make way for more vertical steel chapels to commerce. Thankfully, enough people seem to know the resounding reason the Bay continues to live on: they make the region's best burgers. Don't believe me? Look up a YT of John Howie's favorite places to eat and you'll find Seattle's favorite grilled of the meats speaking on lovingly about this joint. The burgers are not life changing but they are definitely good and for the price you can't beat them. Personally I'm partial to the patty melt as the number of places you can get this American beef n' onion classic seem to be diminishing but you can't really go wrong with any of the burgers. Onion rings here are super delicious too. Support this place because otherwise the great Seattle area is going to default to Dicks and that's a crime against humanity. read more

My mushroom burger was thick and loaded with toppings and they have the best mozzarella sticks. The fries are large enough for 2 people, or 2 kids and 1 adult, which is what I did. This reminded me of the best of classic Americana type independent burger stands. What fast food was before it became corporatized. The food was fresh, had flavor, the buns were toasted and soft. Sometimes you just need to fulfill the craving of a basic burger and this place is good enough. It's old school, with a menu that looks like it dates back to the 50's. The burger (quarter pound) itself was decently sized and filling. Although pretty greasy, their battered onion rings are a classic. The ambiance is nothing special at all inside. If anything it's very outdated and looks like it's covered in decades of grease, but that wasn't of any importance for my take out order. Not some smashburger like at Burbs or Shake Shack that'll leave you hungry. You'll leave quite full with a delicious hamburger and their onion rings. Definitely get the onion rings. Super crispy, not heavily battered, and not overly greasy. The onions are super crispy. The hamburger can be made with cheddar or Swiss cheese, and they have a boatload of fancier options that are a dollar or two more. Four tables inside, many more outside under the cover. Best Burger in Bellevue? Definitely arguable! This place is awesome! It is a classic flame-broiled burger spot. Made to order. Limited menu. Keeping it simple to master what they offer. Its a classic vibe that reminds me of some of the burger spots from my small town as a kid. Everything I have ordered has been nothing but tasty. Do yourself a favor. First time you go, just get a cheeseburger. Once that wins you over, then try some of their other tasty options. The cheeseburger though, is king. add some bacon, add some jalapenos, despite not needing it, just for fun! Its a dang tasty burger the classic way. Sides are great. Fries are large portions, onion rings are tasty, and fried zucchini is fun. You can get a shake if you need. The condiment station has fry sauce, which, being from Idaho, is a big plus! Broiler Bay has been recommended to me by some friends that mentioned it as a place for big and delicious burgers, and as someone that enjoys a good delicious hefty burger, I wanted to give this place a try! We went on a Wednesday around 12:30pm, ordered and seated after about 10 minutes. I got the Big Bay Burger and some onion rings, and wow, the Big Bay burger is hefty! This burger is mostly their take on the McDonald's Big Mac as it is layered in the same fashion with their version of the Big Mac sauce. This is a delicious burger that is pretty much at least double in size to it's inspiration and much tastier - it will definitely cure you of your hunger if you try this burger! The onion rings are scrumptious as well, the battered crust is nice and crispy, and goes great with their house sauce. Overall, I paid about $16 for everything you see here, which I think is a decent price considering it is in the middle of the city. I would definitely like revisit Broiler Bay whenever I'm in the mood for a good filling burger with some nice and greasy sides - feel free to stop by and give this place a try if you are feeling the same! read more

It's interesting how I've had this bookmarked for years when I lived within walking distance of Broiler Bay and only came here after I moved out to Seattle. I was craving burgers and decided to make a lunch stop here on a Friday afternoon. It's located in downtown Bellevue and there is a small parking lot. It's a no-frills burger spot that has an old school feel with the classic menu rather than a menu using something like TVs. You can call in for an order if you'd like but the orders come out pretty quickly. They currently don't have any indoor seating but there are some tables outside. I ordered the double cheeseburger ($7.99) and an order of french fries ($4.99). The burger was juicy and the burger patties were very peppery. Also, I liked that the bottom bun is toasted on both sides and that the toppings are actually on the bottom so they don't fall out. It's the little things that count! The french fries are crispy and they give a lot of them. Overall this felt like an old school meal with old school flavors without all the crazing toppings and burger options.
