The Scarlet Vetter says....on a Friday at noon, my husband and were looking for a combination breakfast/lunch place and happened upon The Five Leaf Clover in Springville, New York. We had been to this location before, when it had been a different restaurant. Now the place has been completely renovated and is very lovely. Clean and bright, it was also well appointed with cute wall signs signaling the restaurants focus on "homemade" "fresh" "made to order" etc, with ample seating and a nice tropical Fishtank as decor to look at, to boot! Within 30 seconds of entering we were greeted and told we could choose our seat. We selected a table by a window. The server came quickly and brought the lunch menu AND the breakfast menu (extra points!). We ordered iced teas which came quickly. My husband ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with fresh cut French Fries. I ordered the Country Burger medium rare. The burger sounded so tantilizing as they advertise a blend of ground chuck, short rib and brisket. I asked for no bun and no fries, as I am trying to limit my processed foods, carbs and seed oils, and the server took the initiative to ask me if I wanted a side salad instead, which was great, and then she also had the good sense to ask me if she should hold the salad croutons which was smart. I always forget that and then I am reduced to picking them off my salad. The burger did not disappoint at all.....it was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender, and very very flavorful, the bacon was crispy, and the fried egg on top with the hot pepper jack cheese was really yummy. As you can see by my photo, the side salad was beautiful, with fresh and crisp salad ingredients. I hate when a side salad comes with bits of browned or wilted lettuce and/or soggy cucumbers or tomatoes. Not here! I loved the black olives on the salad,but they were a bit of a surprise, so if you don't like olives, be sure to speak up to have them held. My husband loved his buffalo chicken wrap but said he was a bit disappointed in the fries. He said they tasted a bit stale to him. I am not much for french fries, but I tried one. I thought they were ok, but nothing to write home about. So the jury is still out on that. Overall, this was a great choice, and I would absolutely come back. The menus were fabulous, quite expansive, with something for everyone. The atmosphere was fresh and nice. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. Mold on bun that the cook claimed it was "just a discoloration that happens sometimes"? Although they did offer to make another sandwich, the quality of the meat and bun tasted old. First time we went good lunch and service. Fish fry was good except for onions in close slaw. First time I experienced that. When not busy they do ok, a crowd and they lost quality controls. Our first visit today. We had been here with the previous owner and consider it quite an improvement now. First; the place is clean. This on a day that the Springville Auction was happening. Second ; the interior had been redone and it looked quite nice. We ordered the mushroom, leek and tomato soup for starters and it was quite good. A French onion burger and a Mediterranean chicken sandwich completed our order. We were quite happy with the quality and quantity of both. My wife got the " kettle chips " and I had the fries. She loved the chips as did I. The fries were thin and crispy but I preferred the chips also. All food was delivered HOT! Our server, Natalie , was quite knowledgeable and kept the coffee and water full. We will return and consider this to be one of the better options in town! Might even upgrade to 5! read more

My boyfriend and I came for breakfast(me) and lunch(him) before we left for our 12 hour shifts at the hospital. We were given the breakfast menus and when the waitress came back we asked for a lunch menu for him since he doesn't like breakfast food at all and we were told no after she looked at her watch. It was a total of 15 minutes before the switch over and we would have gladly waited to order his lunch just so he could have had it or left a big tip for any kind of accommodation. She never went and asked if it was possible given the minutes it was before change over, never even let us look at a menu, and was just very short in general. We both have worked in kitchens and have culinary degrees, we know how easy it is to accommodate a simple request given how close to change over it was. I am so disappointed in the lack of even trying that we will not be coming back or recommending this place to anyone we know, which sucks because the food was decent and had a lot of potential. Oh we so looked forward to breakfast here and finally made it and well, what a disappointment it was. Were sat quickly enough and menus and water soon followed. Wife ordered the corned beef Benedict and it was ok, but her English muffin was black under the pile, and she so looked forwarded to it too. I wanted 2 eggs, home fries and toast, they don't offer that as a normal dish so instead of ordering home fries on the side for $4 I went with other plater that had everything I wanted plus bacon for $2 more, made no sense at all. I ordered home fries well done with onions and was told onions are $.50 (as my wife knows I won't be back when places do that) so anyways I get my meal and no onions and potatoes are like raw (not well done) after moment of disappointment I noticed I have no bread, I told waitress and she said I'm sorry I'll go get. 12 minutes later my wife went up to counter to say I've finished my meal so no toast please, she said it's almost done but also said I'll adjust your bill. We get bill and they took off $1.80 or 10% of check, I said a side of toast is $2.25 so should that be what was taken off ? She looked lost and we paid and left. Bottom line is we were so looking forward to this place, very sad they pulled that crap. Oh btw my over easy eggs were perfect although no toast to mop them up with, lol. read more
