After getting my car serviced in the area was looking for a place for a late lunch to go. Villagio was definitely a Yelp find. Arrived around 3 so it was quiet with a couple of customers dining in. There are a few options to choose from and I wanted to order a couple of entrees that gave us the best opportunity to try as much as possible. Settled on the Chicken Fillet Soltani Combo which includes beef & the Lamb Shish Kabob. All of the meats were spiced/marinated and grilled perfectly! The Basmati Rice was also excellent and I should have ordered more of the bread. They have an option where you can add a skewer of the kobideh meat varieties at a very reasonable price($4-4.50) The lady that took my order greeted me with a smile. Came here with our friends to try some Persian food. The service was good and we were seated right away. We tried the hummus which was okay and then I had a stew made out of lentils and beef. It was pretty good and came with rice, some if it crispy. The amount of food was generous and the atmosphere was pleasant. read more

I've been here for dinner twice with two different groups of people, and both times everyone was impressed with everything they ordered. The food tastes fresh and delicious, especially their Villagio eggplant appetizer and Persian ice cream. They also bring out warm complimentary bread at the beginning, which is so so good. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the service is friendly, making this a great family restaurant. It is on the pricier side, but it's worth splurging on a nice dinner here once in a while. Another disadvantage is that there's no parking lot, but you can usually find parking on one of the more residential side streets. read more

For a Mediterranean place we were surprised there weren't many vegetarian options, just hummus, and onion, tomato and pepper kebab. The portion is also very odd for lamb, 5 slivers of lamb with huge chunks of tomato onion and peppers with an over load of rice that has no sort of sauce. Great meal and service. We asked to sit outside due to COVID and they had a stone table and benches for the four of us. It was covered which was good because it looked like rain (but it didn't rain). Our waitress suggested an app that was delicious, a potato salad with some kind of pickle and mint. I had a lamb kabob with a special rice combination that was adelicious. We went here on a Thursday afternoon and it was a great time. The wait staff went above and beyond to make sure our service was great. We got the Stoneleigh combo with Loobia polo and baghala polo rice sides. We also had cucumber yogurt sauce to start. Would highly recommend substituting the specialty rices. There was beef filet mignon, chicken fillet, and koobideh Kabab in the Stoneleigh family meal. All were juicy and super flavorful. First, apologies to this wonderful place, I usually reserve 5 stars for like Michelin-star restaurants. Second, I am usually not a fan of Persian food. However, this place definitely turned me around. Toasted pita bread with baba ganoush is divine. Perfectly toasted pita bread with great baba that has a perfect balance of taste and texture. Rice is great, it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Lamb, beef and mahi mahi were all nice and moist. Salad with the yogurt sauce was just right. I think it was the first time when I didn't feel over- or underwhelmed by the spice profile and richness of the meal or sauces. Everything was yummy, refreshing and filling. Bonus: Our server, Susan or Sarah? (sorry, I didn't remember her name...) was perfectly attentive, but not hovering. In times of Covid, she perfectly balanced personal space with attentiveness. Everything was perfectly timed and taken care of. No issues with masking and cleanliness by her, which we always appreciate. Happy to revisit the Villagio Cafe with my friends. Seated right away with decent service from our waitress. Although, she did mess up my order of coffee vs. tea, which I was totally fine with since I was drained from my long day and needed a kick. We ordered the Stoneleigh with the appetizer platter, and greek salad. The appetizer platter was delicious, but I wish the waitress took the time to explain each slot on the plate. The greek salad was delicious and had a perfect amount of each ingredient. The Stoneleigh was delicious; The meat was juicy with a lot of flavor. I think to step up the service, I would recommend for the waitress to remind us regarding the possible upgrade to one of the other rices, because initially my table wanted to do this, but we had forgotten to order it as so. But regardless, those are just minor comments regarding the service. Overall I love this restaurant and will continue to be my go to for kabobs in the area. 4.6/5 read more

Villagio Cafe features delicious middle-eastern food in the Towson area. Two of us came here tonight for dinner, lured in by the positive Yelp reviews and the nearby location on York Road. This place is surprisingly small, but it's all good. The place was never overflowing and we felt like we had enough personal space to dine comfortably. I had the lamb shish kebab, my dining companion had the salmon shish kebab. They were both great but I wish there were more veggies and less rice. We got an order of baba ganoush as an appetizer. The pita bread was Outstanding-- soft, fresh, and flavorful. The baba ganoush was overly smooth and extremely bland. I, personally, would like more garlic. Our server, a super nice young lady with cute glasses was charming and attentive. The food came out extremely fast which was cool-- we were hungry. This place is BYOB-- there is no corkage fee. I brought beer, my friend brought wine. Villagio Cafe provided glasses. I really liked the menu here. They had platters named for the local neighborhood-- that is just flat out cool. AMAZING!! I came in from the west coast to see some family and wanted some Persian food. Saw some great reviews for this place, so my friends and I decided to give it a try. WOW!! Best decision on the trip. We came back two more times. The lamb shank is fall of the bone and melts in your mouth. I've paid $30-40 in some places for half the flavor and tenderness. I picked up takeout from Villagio Cafe yesterday. They made it so easy - I called, placed my order, and then when I arrived, I called and they brought my order out to my car. The food was great. I got the Villagio eggplant (kashk o bademjan - roasted eggplant with whey, sauteed garlic, onions, and mint) and ghormeh sabzi (sauteed chunks of beef and fresh herbs, simmered in Villagio's special sauce with kidney beans and dried limes). The ghormeh sabzi came with a side order of tahdig (crispy rice); and the Villagio eggplant came with a side of bread. Everything was absolutely delicious. I took my takeout to Lake Roland and ate it at one of the picnic tables facing the lake, which made it the perfect meal! The service was great - they made sure to ask if I need utensils and went back in to grab a set for me. I will absolutely be back to try more Persian food from Villagio Cafe - and I hope to eat inside next time I try their food! read more
