If this is an authentic Iranian owned place I am really just embarrassed for them. I understand take out in the era of COVID is tough on people but even with that in mind I'm embarrassed for this place. The three dishes we got were sad and of laughable portions...see the pictures, the amount of meat in the kabab would be small for a children's plate, much less a dinner entree. On top of it, $51 for a total is even more disappointing. Very very sad state of affairs for a place that seemed so promising. read more

Small, quaint place...and I loved the Persian food. The best thing was the food was really flavorful and the meat was nice and tender. One is a kid menu and the other is Rodgers Forge It makes me very happy when I see a beautifully run small mom and pop places like this one. This place is a GEM...from the moment we walked in, I saw immediately what a cozy atmosphere and welcoming atmosphere it had and when I saw the plates being brought out to the tables I knew we weren't going to be disappointed. My family ordered three different family platter combinations and they were absolutely AMAZING! The meats were perfectly marinated and grilled and the taste simply hit the spot. My personal favorites were the barg, kubideh and chicken thigh fillet kebabs. Our server Avery was absolutely incredible and considering we had three small children giving us a hard time, she made sure that we were taken care of and it was evident she took pride in her job so thank you Avery! Nice spot for kabobs, I went for their lunch special and it's a great deal. Chicken Shish Kabob is $8.50 and it comes with Chicken, grilled bell pepper and onions, roasted tomato, rice, salad and pita bread. I also ordered the Turkish coffee which was tasty. First up, you may assume this is an Italian restaurant like I did for like 10 years. It is not, it's a Persian restaurant, and it's great. Obviously everyone else knows this because it was packed on a Friday night (recommend reservations, which you have to call for). I had the chicken filet kabob, and it was excellent. I also subbed one of the specialty rices for the regular rice- I got the one with lentils and currants, and it was the right choice. That was some superior rice. All portions were huge, enough for a couple meals. Also tried the sampler appetizer; very good and I especially liked the hummus. We used all our bread and they provided more. Excellent Persian food. The appetizer sampler was a great start with a selection of hummus, baba ghanoush, dolmeh, olovieh, and Mast-O-Khiar. The baba ghanoush was nice and garlicky without being overkill and a fantastic smooth texture. The hummus was freshly made, and also so much better than anything store bought. The Mast-O-Khiar was great on the kabobs, like a Persian tzatziki.The sampler is huge so bring your appetite. The Koobideh Kebab was amazingly seasoned, juicy and cooked perfectly as was the Chicken Shish Kebab. So many other dishes to go back for, I'm looking forward to our next visit. read more

First time in Maryland and me and my dad came to Villagio Cafe to eat last night. I can confidently say that this is my new favorite restaurant. We can both agree that this was the best kabob we've ever had!! This is coming from an Arab family that eats kabob quite frequently. I believe we ordered the Stoneleigh family platter and it was more than enough for the both of us (we took the rest to go). The food was so flavorful and cooked very well. We also had the Villagio Hot Tea afterwards and it was the perfect tea to drink after their amazing food. 1000/10 would recommend and will come back again!! read more

A newly found favorite spot. Not only do they make their hummus in-house freshly, it's flavorful and decadent. I always order the tahdig because i have never been successful at making it myself. The tahdig is delightfully greasy and crispy and makes a perfect paring with one of its many stews. I have had the gormeh sabzi and fesenjan which are both flavorful and delicious. The restaurant is on York Road and is nearby some other neat restaurants and shops. Parking is a bit tricky but there are some neighborhoods around it. The space is smaller, intimate and very casual. I have only gotten take away from here and it has never been an issue (quick and effortless transactions). I highly will revisit and recommend for all people. read more

We visited the Villagio Cafe last week and the owner/manager was very upset when we requested to accommodate 2-3 additional guests on top of booking. He was so rude and literally shouted on us. We all go through these incidents, but it was horrified especially when you have little kids and elders accompanying us. Better to stay away from such place. read more

The service was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere since it felt like a small family restaurant. However, the food was extremely oily and greasy compared to many other Persian restaurants I have gone too. They did put enough saffron and the meat wasn't dry but once my food got slightly cold it wasn't as appetizing compared to when it was warm. We have been meaning to visit for quite awhile and we finally made it last week on a Wednesday. Parking was easy in front and we were seated at a booth looking out on the street. There were 3 of us so we ordered the app platter and it was fantastic. Dips were all homemade and came with lots of warm pita served alongside. The stuffed grape leaves were really good and I would order more next time. Since it is BYOB, I could share the platter w a bottle of wine and be happy for dinner. We all ordered platters and took half the food home. The kebabs were cooked well and were good but the real star was the rice dish that came w my wife's platter. An enormous amount with lentils, raisins and more. We were all eating from her plate. My rice was dill flavored and nice but hers was the bomb. When we return with friends (and we will), I believe we will order ala carte with the app platter, additional stuffed grape leaves and some specialty rices. It will make a great vegetarian dinner.
