I've been to Vincenzo's new location about three times with my family. My parents raved up Vincenzo's original Covina location and were so excited to have them start up again in San Dimas. Upon entering the restaurant on my first visit with my parents, the hostess was a bit rude and she quickly asked if we had reservations without greeting us. My mom answered kindly that we did and the hostess claimed that we were late with a huge attitude. I was shocked with her treatment and when the hostess doublechecked her reservation book, she noticed that read the wrong name and realized we were not late. She didn't even apologize for claiming we were late. So that was the first strike. Once we were seated in the dining room, we noticed that it wasn't even busy so I don't even know why she was upset about us being "late" in the first place when it was completely empty. Our server was very kind and knew all the specials for the day and we definitely appreciated his service after experiencing the wack hostess. The only issue was that it took so long for my family of 5 to get our food. We probably spent almost 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the restaurant and it wasn't even busy. That was strike two. I won't lie, the food is very good, but the service just isn't it. Especially with the hostess who has such a bad attitude. I've come back a few times with my family since they really enjoy the food, but we also had to deal with the rude hostess again and the long wait for the food which isn't very pleasing. I just moved back home from grad school and I guess my family continued to go to Vincenzo's while I was gone, but they just complained again that the hostess was so rude to them that they officially decided to never return. And that's strike 3. From other reviews, it seems that the hostess is the owner's mom. For everyone's sake, please come get your mother!!! She is bringing down your business with the poor customer service. Believe it or not, you can have amazing food, but if your staff lacks basic customer service skills and empathy, you will start to lose customers and eventually your business! We found this hidden little gem while camping at nearby Bonelli RV resort. As a party of 6 we booked a short Lyft ride and it was amazing. Kathy and her staff were so welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious as were the desserts. Great wine selection too. We visit the area once or twice a year as we only live about 45 minutes away. Pricing was very fair too, approximately $100 per couple which included three bottles of wine. This will be our new favorite place when we stay here! If the wonderful dinner were not enough, the museum tour upstairs was the icing on the cake! Margie from the historical society gave us a great tour of the Walker home and museum and she was so friendly and knowledgeable! The ladies in the gift shop were so nice and we all found some very nice souvenir items. We loved the entire experience! read more

Good food and friendly wait staff. Beautiful location in the historic Walker House. We had the Risotto al Fungi and the Tagliolini Maremonte, both of which were absolutely delicious! Nice mushroom flavor complemented with shrimp and scallop. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. read more

I love this place. It's an Italian & seafood restaurant inside the Walker house in San Dimas, which is an old mansion that has been restored so I would say the ambience is classy, yet cozy. As far as food goes, my family loves everything they try but I can only review the sole because that's all I ever order. I think about ordering some of the other entrees every time I come here but I love sole fish and the sauce they cook it in is similar to a piccata sauce and I just have to have it every time I come. My grandson favors the stuffed pork chop and one of my sons says the octopus is really good and my other son usually goes with the special of the day, usually seafood or steak with pasta. Of course my 10-year-old granddaughter only ever wants spaghetti with or without meatballs. The service is about the same as most busy restaurants as far as speed goes but they are very friendly and aim to please. When we go on a night that's not very busy, the wait staff is very happy to carry on a conversation with their customers or let you hand them your camera to take a picture of your party. The owner also will walk around sometimes and talk to the customers at their table. I look forward to my next visit and can't imagine anyone not liking this place. read more

If you have a chance to have dinner at this place, do it! I loved this place. If I lived closer I would go multiple times. First off this restaurant is in a very large what used to be a very old house. The entry way is so beautiful, seems like you are going into an old mansion or something. This place is only open for a few hours a night. It seems like it's going to be expensive but it's actually not and the pasta is amazing. I think they make the pasta homemade. They give you homemade focaccia bread when you sit down, with a homemade pesto spread. I had the shrimp gnocchi and my family members had the chicken fettuccine special. The wait staff is very polite and friendly. Again the prices don't compare to the experience. This place would be great for a first date, or any date, family gathering, anything really. However, upon walking OUTSIDE TO MY CAR, I observed an employee walk outside to HARASS ANOTHER GUEST ABOUT A TIP! I have never witnessed this! Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Vincenzo's Terrazza is situated in a historical building in downtown San Dimas, easy to find and parking is easy peasy. They have a wonderful wine list and a delicious Italian hummus that they pair with homemade focaccia. Our party enjoyed the margarita pizza,several pasta, the delicious branzino with sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts , and fresh spinach. In a delicious white wine sauce. I urge you to try this restaurant, its family run, our server Matthew was very attentive and answered our questions with confidence. . We've been to this restaurant twice and had mixed experiences. Starting with the ambience, the restaurant is inside a beautiful historic home. The first time we went, it was quiet and a very knowledgeable lady gave great service, helpful recommendations and a tour of the home. The fried Calamari was delicious and the sauce on the Chicken Marsala was outstanding. The second, and probably the last time we went there, the service was poor and every entree was overcooked. The chicken was dry, the fried Calamari was too chewy, the lasagna was tough, and the pasta dish was lacking flavor. The meat entrees are expensive and do NOT include soup or salad, despite being asked which side we wanted by the server. Summary: Great atmosphere but underwhelming food and service, especially given the high prices. With so many great options in the area, this place needs to do better. read more

I've lived in San Dimas for 9 years and pass by The Walker House all the time yet never been inside! This Victorian style home was built in the 1800s so you can imagine the history that lies there. Stepping inside, you feel like you are back in that era. The place is clean and the restaurant has a main dining room. I noticed a couple of private rooms as well. The upstairs is roped off. Walker House does give creepy vibes but it adds to its charm so I'm here for it! We came in at 5pm when they open for dinner. My son and I were greeted by the owner and our server was Julian. I loved how friendly, courteous and attentive Julian was. His personality really stands out and I recommend having him as your waiter. Now for the food... Julian came out with some fresh focaccia bread paired with this garlicky hummus spread. It was very tasty. My son ordered their Margherita pizza. The pizza reminded me of my trip to Italy. I ordered the Caesar salad (they made it the right way with anchovies) and Spaghetti alla Checca. I loved both dishes. Everything was delicious and flavorful. When I have Italian food, I want it to be very garlicky and not salty. The chef nailed that for me. There were 3 other parties in the main dining hall and I felt the service was great. Came here for a friend's birthday dinner a couple weekends ago. The ambiance is lovely, as it is in an old house. Our party of 6 had our own little dining room. Bread - interesting. The bread itself was fine, but the garlic spread they give you is very odd. It isn't butter. It seems kind of like...chickpeas? Not a fan, but at least it was unique, I suppose. Pizza - we shared a cheese pizza as a sort of appetizer. It was good. Nothing special. 3 of the people at our table got sort sort of pasta with sausage and they all said it was very salty. One of which puts salt on everything, so for her to say it was too salty is saying something. I got linguine with clams. It was good, but again, nothing special. Another member of our party got the soup and complained of it being salty, as well as too thick. It was more like she was eating a very hearty chili than a soup. Our last party member had some sort of mixed seafood pasta and said it was good. Overall, it was a nice experience for the ambiance, but the food was nothing to remember. read more

I don't know how this place is still in business with such rude customer service. My aunt was visiting from out of town and had made reservations for 4 people. It had been years since I've been here but I was game to give it another go. For context, the restaurant was almost completely empty. When we showed up, we had an additional family member join us. So when the hostess (owner? Blonde woman) came to greet us, my aunt asked if it would be okay if we added an extra person to the party. The lady let out a very audible exasperated SIGH but didn't say anything else. My aunt, confused, said, "Oh, I'm sorry... but will that be a problem?" Then the lady, who appeared very aggravated, said "Well yeah! Now I have to put you at a different table, or find a way to fit in a chair, or, I don't know..." Then the phone rang and the lady picked it up and answered and started talking, ignoring us as we all stood there. We were all so confused and, not accustomed to this level of rudeness, didn't really know what to do. But we ended up just leaving and having a delightful meal elsewhere. read more

The food was pretty good and the service was perfect, but I was really thrown by the decor and lack of attention to detail here. It is enough to be a distraction from what would otherwise have been an elegant meal. I felt like I was in my grandmother's house that was badly in need of an update for at least 40 years. We had spinach salad and ravioli, gnocchi scampi and salmon. The pastas were incredibly hot, too hot to eat. All on point or close, just not worthy of 5 stars or for us, even a trip back. read more

SERVICE: They were very accommodating to large parties and it's easy to make a reservation online via their website. The workers were all really friendly and ensured all our questions about the menu was answered. FOOD: I would def recommend the short rib ravioli! The calamari's and fried mozzarella was also good choices for appetizers. The calamari was great portion but the fried mozzarella seemed too expensive for the amount. The manager/owner of this restaurant is absolutely rude. It's a lady and I have always tried to be nice and kind of her. She doesn't care. Whenever you try to order food it never fails how rude and how unprofessional she is towards her customers She'll cut you off, saying hurry up, and will literally hang the phone up if you're not ready. This is not good service. I've been there personally, and she has the same personality. Trying to support small business, especially in our city. Food is not all the best either it's decent. If you read the past reviews there seems to be a pattern of the manager/ owner behavior and sadly it has not changed. read more

One of my favorite dining experiences so far! The Mediterranean fish special was so good, the juice was so tender and rich, I wish I could eat it again though I'm not sure if they offer that dish throughout the year or if it's just seasonal. My wife and I recently brought my mom here to celebrate her birthday. We arrived right at 5PM to secure a table because it seems like seating is limited and so are their hours. The exterior & interior of this building is absolutely amazing. Extremely well kept and incredible craftsmanship. The staff here is very polite and professional. An older woman, possibly manager or owner, was helping the staff but had such a mean, upset demeanor. Kind of ruined the vibe a little. The food is really good. Not the best I've had, but you can tell it's made from good quality ingredients. They have a great wine selection if that's your preference. Also, most importantly, the prices were very reasonable. 2 appetizers, 3 full meals, 3 deserts and 3 bottles of wine (1 bottle was to-go), about $240. A gorgeous new location for this gem! We had a Friday reservation and a small private room was ready for 7 of us which was perfect for smaller kids who couldn't sit still. Service by Anthony was outstanding and owner Kathy even said hello tho she was busy working the pizza station that night! So much respect for this family owned business which I've dined with for many years- it always feels like home. Food was spot on with the lasagne verde being my new favorite and the calamari + dipping sauce was so yummy. Great wine. Great value for everything. I really hesitated to make this review because the staff was lovely. The waiters were lovely and the whole place was lovely. It was it was just the food that was not lovely at all. I was super excited to come try this place because I grew up in the area and of all the rumors about it being haunted growing up. Not sure if the rumors are true, but the house definitely has a vibe to it and I loved it. It was really nice. I loved all the history and the people that let us know about the history of the home. We checked out the gift shops and the museum upstairs and had a nice conversation with the lady from the gift shop then came back down and had our dinner however, dinner was not very good at all. I ordered the mushroom tortellini that was on the menu and my husband ordered the fettuccine de pollo. The server ended up coming out with a mushroom ravioli instead of the tortellini, which I immediately questioned saying I ordered the tortellini and the waiter assured me that it was the same thing, then another waiter came out and told us the same thing that it was the same thing as the tortellini just in ravioli form, but they hadn't updated the menu which was fine. I had no problem with that. My husband's pasta, however, did not look appetizing. Nor was it. It was fettuccine pasta with some kind of cream sauce or maybe butter sauce because it was kind of solidifying, but it had ground chicken just sitting on top of the pasta, not mixed in with the sauce or anything just sitting on top once I tasted my husband's pasta. It was not good at all. We took it home for someone else to try and they jokingly said that it tasted and looked like dog food. We were kind of thinking that to ourselves, but didn't actually say it and then somebody else said it. I honestly think that you would be better off going to Olive Garden because the food here was not homemade or tasteful, but definitely check this place out for the history. read more

A mixed review. The focaccia was an interesting experience, dry while not quite warmed through. I thoroughly enjoyed my appetizer of prosciutto, burrata and baby arugula, though my dear one thought his Mozzarella Fritti was doughy (not melting) in a watery sauce. My Orrechiette Barese was delicious and a very generous portion. His Fettuccine alla Bolognese was disappointing. The fettuccine hadn't reached al dente, though the Bolognese was delicious. Also a smaller portion. Anthony was wonderful, the perfect blend of attention and efficiency. Wonderful ambiance, the dining room has sufficient space that you didn't overhear other conversations.
