I don't know how this local chain does it but we are longtime fans of Mountain Sun in Boulder and they have a way of capturing a certain vibe in all of their restaurants. A little bit hippy, comfy-cozy and 1000% Colorado is the feel! And man oh man- the fries are to die for as always! The service is friendly and welcoming and they have booths to sit in which I love! We had fries burgers and the kiddo got a margarita pizza and was satisfied. Such a good neighborhood spot to have- delicious beer, good food, and patio seating gives this spot the trifecta you want in terms of a quick and easy dinner place to have nearby. The French fries here are UNREAL, and that is coming from a fry connoisseur. The burger is good but nothing to write home about, and the sandwiches are pretty good! This was a nice experience. Parking can be a challenge, look about and find parking on the street. We ended up being two blocks away. We just stopped in for a beverage on a Sunday afternoon. We were welcomed in and decided to sit at the bar. I had the porter they had on tap. I am a dark beer girl and always check that section of the menu first. It was a solid porter. Went here for the first time with a friend and I loved the vibe! We shared the Friend of the Devil pizza and a large fries and the pizza definitely had a kick to it! The large fries were a very sizable portion. After each getting a stout to drink as well, we were full and had to take a couple slices of pizza home and most of the fries as well. The service was great and it would be wrong of me to not mention that when they package up your food, they try to make it into some sort of animal! This place is a really cool venue with a wonderful jazz band playing the night we went. It is a bit loud, but has so much ambiance. We had a plain burger that tasted pretty bland (could've used more seasoning) and a date burger which was much tastier with a wonderful puree of dates and goat cheese. The chips came out burned so we asked for them to be replaced. The fries were much better. I had a bite of our friend's fried chicken tenders and while the breading was seasoned well with good consistency, it was a little over-fried too. Guess the fryer cook was not spot on that night. 3.5 stars on the food. Service was good at first, hard to catch as things got busier, but we had our needs met. Cheap $5 pitchers of beer after 8pm made my Irish buddy very happy! 3.5 stars for service. The BEST thing ever here is the blackberry cobbler! DANG. Served in a piping hot skillet, the jammy fruit encrusted in the loveliest golden bread crumb crust had everyone clambering for more. Ice cream on top was velvety and rich, oozing into the nooks and crannies of the fruit filling. It was enough for four of us to have about 4-5 bites which was awesome. My favorite thing here is that one of the staff members was super kind and lovely to help and give an extra hand with my elderly mother who is struggling to walk. He jumped to the cause and escorted her out the front door and to the car and spoke to her along the way. It really was heartening to see someone go above and beyond and to care about customers this way. Thank you, young man! Your mama taught you well! Super cute local pub in the Uptown neighborhood. They have a cute patio which is great for people watching as it is warming up. Very cool and adaptable menu to fit many tastes. Our favorites were the Margarita pizza and the Date Night Burger. Everyone raves about the Date Night Burger, and while good, is missing a certain taste. The inside set up front to back really reminded me of the look of Mountain Sun brewing in Boulder with its wooden booths, laid back vibes and a place for live music. Kinda confusing since they seem to have two names - Vine St Pub but also Mountain Sun Brewing. I'd say it's more of a restaurant than a brewery (at least from what I saw) but they're happy to just serve beer and they have a bar hightop in the back. Restaurant is a bit hippie with all of their decor. The beer listed on the website wasn't the same as as the ones listed on the menu in the restaurant, but they luckily had a couple stouts. Came for burgers as I had ventured to Mountain Sun in Boulder and was good. We came early for Kate lunch/early dinner. It was pretty quiet inside. The place has an older feel to it. They brew their own beers and had a variety, I got the junk burger which was mushroom, onions and bacon. I ordered medium and it was a little more medium well. I noticed in Westword magazine that it was Stout Month at Vine Street Pub & Brewery. I went to their website and signed up for email notices. They send me a email for a free pint of Stout beer. It's their 30th Annual Celebration. They have a nice pub menu and quite a selection of house brewed beers, both IPA's and Stouts. I started with a O'stengl's Dry Irish Stout. Full bodied creamy beer with only 4.4% ABV. I was served by Cade S, but I met virtually every staff person because they all came over to my table to check on me. I got a bowl of Tucsan soup made with pork sausage, Kale and potatoes. A nice filling soup for a cold day. Next, I got the Bacon Bison burger with hatch green chilis and a large serving of hand-cut fries. The dining area has wood accents throughout and colorful artwork. You can look thru a window to see the brewing tanks. I had a 2nd Stout, Yonder Mountain Stout. This was a stronger brew at 6.8% ABV. I finished this great meal with a cast iron skillet of apple cobbler. read more

I am extremely happy that this location has reopened! When I lived in Boulder, I would frequent the Mountain Sun Pub location often as it is a great low key spot with great burgers and beer! This location did not disappoint! Despite being in its third week of reopening, our server was extremely friendly and our food came out in a reasonable time. The food was really good just like I remembered! I do believe they are working on expanding their menu back to full capacity, but I really hope they bring back their half beef half chorizo burger! The place was very cute, as it adorned retro concert posters, painted walls and air ducts, and other artifacts. Let's get real. This establishment didn't close because they brew beer in the back. The restaurant did, for 4 years. They had plenty of time to rethink what they're doing. Maybe, replace the 20 year old carpet. Funny, they pride themselves on that carpet. Maybe replace the menu with an inspired non generic bar fair. It doesn't take money, it takes someone who cares. They just offload shamrock slop straight to your table. They are just doing the same. There are way too many choices out there to opt for an uninspired off the shelf burger. Vine Street might be the most Colorado restaurant I've been to yet. It almost feels as if you're stepping back into yesteryear with the carpet and eclectic wall decor. It's a quintessential neighborhood pub and that deserves some stars in my book. Three of us dined in on a Saturday night and although crowded, the wait was much longer than it should have. Even folks who walked in after us were sat before us. Eventually we snagged a a booth toward the bar. Our server was Fantastic with a capital F. On only her second day serving at Vine Street mind you. She made our experience extremely enjoyable, kudos to you! I landed on the XXX American Pale Ale and the Jumbo Mountain Sun Wings. Talk about a great meal for a chilly evening! The beer was hoppy and had a high ABV for a pale ale. Nothing mind-blowing, but solid nonetheless. The wings are talked about in many reviews, and once I saw them hit a nearby table I already made up my mind. I don't think I've ever been full from an order of 8 wings, lawdy these things are jumbo indeed! Very crispy exterior, and although I ordered their hot wings, I didn't get a whole lot of heat. Very good wings overall, I just think they were hyped up too much. Prices are fair for Denver, but I really can't neglect the whole "cash only" trademark. There's part of me who gets it, having grown up in small business, and seeing how much money the credit card companies take. On the other hand, it's 2019 and convenience is king. I just don't fully understand the reasoning behind it when most of us don't carry cash anymore. 3 stars is A-OK in my book and Vine Street definitely fills a void in the neighborhood pub scene. read more

Took forever to reopen, and went opening night terrified that our once favorite burger and beer joint would no longer meet our expectations and memory as so many haven't since the pandemic. Super long wait as the place was mobbed. Clearly stretched staff, but they were all smiling and charged up. But the best part? The food was excellent and like we remember, the beer just as tasty! Yes, some odds and ends to be sorted, not at full hours yet, and they say reduced menu which I hope means some favorites (where's the steak sandwich?!) return. Good that they are opened again and service is quick and attentive. I've got some suggestions though. All meals need to come with fries, upgrade your fry game. The chips should be offered as a free appetizer to everyone instead. The burger patty needs to be a little big bigger. Everyone liked the old wings, maybe bring them back as breaded versus non-breaded wings. The prices outside of happy hour are a little insane too, about $25 to sit at the bar and have a beer and burger with chips (not fries lol), probably $30 if you want fries. The happy hour prices make more sense, at around $18 w/ tip out the door, again with chips not fries. Maybe remove one or two the far less ordered items to make the kitchen a bit easier for the new employees.
