I've spent countless hours here--studying, job hunting, soul searching (I might have exaggerated on this), you name it--that the coffee shop staffers probably think, "Oh no, here she goes" when I walk through that front door. This is not necessarily the coziest or the quietest place to spend all day in, but plenty of people do it, myself included. The space here is much smaller than most of the other coffee shops in the area, and I think it is more all-ages-friendly than the other ones that attract a more hip, younger crowd. They're also known for their desserts, which I haven't tried yet, but will eventually. I also have yet eaten their food other than a sandwich that was OK for $3.50, but I'd say their drinks are pretty above average and very reasonably-priced. I usually get their Matcha Latte, cappuccino, and grapefruit iced tea, and they're usually consistent in making the flavors strong. The price range is around high $3s - low $5s, which is pretty decent for non-Starbucks prices, and I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of their menu items. The best thing about them is that they don't charge extra for almond milk (you won't go back to regular milk after this, I promise). Power outlets are indeed limited, but WiFi is usually very fast. There's usually a substantial amount of older people coming in to chill during the day and they can be aggressive about seating, so be wary about having to move over/make adjustments sometimes. Nonetheless, kind of interesting to see the generation gap at coffee shops. read more

Typical Korean coffee shop but they have free wifi and it's relatively quiet which is nice for a change. I got the pumpkin spice latte for $5 - it was okay, definitely not worth it. I recommend if you don't want to bother dealing with herds of people at Paris Baguette. read more

This place recently opened but I go an average of twice a week to grab my morning coffee. The young girl at the counter is super sweet, and their coffee is nice and strong. I only gave 3 stars because it seems as though the breads and such come from elsewhere - as in, someone purchases it in the AM, and lays it out at VineTree? The sandwiches are made there though.. The interior is actually really cute, and a decent place to study for a bit. Quiet, good coffee, snackable foods and the location (for those of us on foot) is a plus. read more

Not a bad cafe to relax and study in but there are better options around the neighborhood. This cafe gives a much more cozy and home-like vibe, which is unique conpared to other fancy cafes nearby like Cafe Decupping and Caffeine fix. The food isnt too shabby at all. I got their hot chocolate which was nice and creamy and their cheesecake. One of the weird things about this place is that their display cooler that holds all of the cake slices turns off every now and then. The wifi here also has a tendency to drop randomly which can be annoying if you're using the internet to study. Feel free to try this place out. read more

I don't really have any complaints about this place so I'm being generous and giving them 5-stars (maybe also because I'm sitting at the actual shop as I write this....) This place opened up a little while ago right near my house. I'm recently unemployed and have been looking for jobs, which can be really discouraging/depressing.. meaning I would sit in front of my tv and eat my sorrows away.. Anyways, this place provides a nice, cool (a/c in the hot summer days, yes!) excuse for me to leave my house and be productive. Free wifi, but they change their passwords daily so you need to ask for it. I'm a simple-drink kind of girl so I usually only drink americano, green tea, or some citrus tea. All of them have been really good. I prefer the americano over their iced coffee; it tastes better because the espresso is made fresh to order. I like it also because it's basically espresso over ice with only a little bit of water. just the way i like it :) The baked goods do come from a different place which is pretty common for cafes here that are not paris baguette or koryodang. They're pretty good. Service is really good too. Nothing to complain about this place! read more

Amongst the plethora of coffeeshops on northern boulevard, this one serves decently priced coffee, with Free WIFI (but do need to ask for pw), & plenty of seating, What's makes this shop stand out is definitely the wallpaper - which was an arboreal themed scenery - different from the photos we see posted here. Perhaps they change layouts every now and then? Their coffee was already sugared up with milk and frothy when I got my cup. I would try a different drink next time I'm here bc I do like to adjust the milk and sugar myself. Good place to study.... well... until 4pm rolls around and the crowds come in.. read more

Decent coffee place. I've been here a couple of times already. Recently, there has been an increase in the little pastries they sell.. Massive influx of bread, chips, candy.. It really cheapens the place and makes me feel like I'm in a convenience store. Coffee is nicely brewed and they have a nice selection of teas and smoothies. Skip the latte and just have a regular coffee. The last latte I ordered tasted the same as my boyfriend's regular and it costs way less! read more

Made the following orders today: - Regular & Decaf Coffee: tasted a day old - Strawberry Bubble Tea: wasn't even fully mixed so I could still taste the powder - Cappuccino: used pre-made coffee.. tasted normal though - Melon Slush: it was the best out of all the order; however, they really skimped out and didn't even fully fill the cup Overall, not worth the price for the size. Coffee is good, hot or cold. They make it nice and strong, not weak. The part time workers and the owner are super sweet. Never an issue, always get things made specifically to my order. I frequent this place everyday for coffee since my kids are next door at Champion's TKD. I tried crossing the street over to Koryodang a couple of times, but they make their coffee with steamed cream/milk so the coffee comes out super burning hit, so I stopped crossing the street and just stuck with these guys. Not a bad cafe if you want a change from your typical fancy cafe. The crowd here consists of older folks, very different vibe from de cupping that's two stores down. I tried studying in here once but wasn't really able to focus because the music was too loud and the walls were too white lol. Everything was a bit distracting. It's nice if you just want to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. I would not recommend their green tea latte though, it tasted too powdery in my opinion. Prices are a little better than de cupping but quality doesn't compare. I'd rather spend the extra two bucks for something that tastes 5x better. I heard their bingsoo is really good though. The coffee here is acceptable but a bit too watery for my taste. Most Koreans who frequent here will probably enjoy this coffee. The decor is simple and the desserts are decent. I think they get a lot of their selection from martha's. This is a good place to just hang out after getting some korean at hanyang restaurant. read more

Awesome place for students to relax and study. Comfortable soft leather (or something) seating that won't cramp your butt after studying for 6 hours. Get up to grab a coffee and reenergize yourself with some tasty small sweets and cookies. Only bad thing is the limited power outlets. I think I only saw two so remember to fully charge your laptops before arriving. Can get loud sometimes when old people arrive, it seems like a comfortable chatting spot for them, but don't worry cuz old people tend to go to bed by 5 or 6 pm. Pro: Free Wi-fi : I could bring a laptop, order coffee, sit down, and relax. Workers : They have one owner who's always there from opening to closing, and two girls working part-time to help out. All are really nice and sweet. Cons: Time : I feel like it takes FOREVER to get anything. I expect a cup of normal, black coffee to come out pretty fast- but it's more like five min here. You have to wait longer than at Starbucks, basically because there's only one girl working at a time. (owner is usually in the back) So if there's a morning crowd coming to get coffee, or bulk-orders (which they often get- aka one person would come and order four or more coffees to go), you have to be standing there for awhile just to order. And another while for your order to come out. I don't know, I just may be an impatient person but this always bothered me. As for the MENU: There's a variety of coffee & smoothies, so that's good. But not everything on the menu is always available, so if you spent ten minutes trying to decide what to order and they tell you they don't have it, and you give them your second choice, and they don't have that either, and then you resort to your final choice, which they also don't have. (Actually happened to me) Coffee: Don't worry about coffee. All the coffee menu will always be available. Tastes good too. Smoothies: This is hit or miss. Because they use real fruits (which I like) and blend them, sometimes they run out of fruits in middle of the day and can't make more. Other bakeries would get a gigantic container of those smoothie powders and make smoothies with it, so they'd never run out. But since this store uses actual fruits and can't purchase a ton of fresh fruits at once, they run out occasionally. They have like six diff flavors for smoothie so you can get a smoothie if you want to, but you may not get the flavor you originally wanted. Sandwich & Kim Bap: They make their own every morning. If it's all sold out, you can ask them to make it just for you :) Bakery goods: They order it from somewhere else. I think all korean bakeries around the town do that, so I don't really mind. And they're all made fresh in the morning in whatever factory they come from anyway, so no big deal for me. Waffles: UGH. I've asked for waffles about three or four times, and it was NEVER there. They always said "Oh we ran out" or "we get it in the afternoon." WHEEENNNN???? I'm dying to try it out. OVERALL: Other than coffee, hard to get the menu you want, & kinda slow so minus a star there. But overall ambiance is excellent and I don't know any other bakery with free-wifi around this neighborhood so I'm always going back. read more

I always passed by Vine Tree with their giant advertisement of churros their window. When I stepped inside to see their price (4 for $8) I was shocked, but my churros craving did not go away. It took me a minute to decide, but I said to myself "f*ck it I'm hungry." I spent a good solid 5 minutes waiting at the counter as the young woman behind it (the only one operating the place apparently) was too busy making another customer's order. She never said a word or acknowledged my presence, not even a "I'll be right with you in 2 minutes." I ordered the cold chrysanthemum tea, while my friend ordered the strawberry slush. they came out very quickly, and were both excellent. i will be coming back here to try more of their large selection of drinks. hopefully it isn't crowded on a sunday afternoon! read more

I've been dying to go here ever since I saw someone else's Yelp photo (watermelon). So, one day we decided today was the day and went. I was so excited to try the watermelon and of course I did not think that they didn't have that until the summer! It was about 8 pm on a Friday night and the place was pretty packed , we decided to try other things and come back in the summer when they have the watermelon. I saw some giant macaroons and since I love them , I got 3; Nutella, strawberry and blueberry. My spouse got a red velvet cupcake and we shared a strawberry bubble tea. The Nutella macaroons are always my absolute favorite wherever I go but here; they almost chipped my tooth!! I took it to the only person who works there and asked when it was made. She said she just put them out. My spouse could not eat his cupcake because the cake was so dry from sitting there all day and the frosting was extremely heavy. The only reason I'm not giving it 1 star is because the bubble tea was pretty good (tasted like strawberry milk). Unfortunately I don't think I will be back for the watermelon. I can't give this star 0 stars?! This place is totally disgusting and full of loud people. NOT a good place to study. NOT a good place for coffee. It tastes so bad- save yourself the trouble and just drink the powdered instant coffee mix at home. Trust me, it is NOT worth it for the pricey amount you have to pay. The food is awful too. They are out to get everyone diabetes. I have seen the manager count money and use those same fingers to make my food. The powders for the drinks are everywhere. I come here whenever I crave churros since I don't know where else they sell it around the area. They make them fresh for you so once you order them you'd have to wait 5-10 minutes. I like my kiwi juice from here but a lot of the times they either run out of it or don't make them anymore (seasonal?) and that goes for most of their juices.
