We recently came in for dinner for a birthday, and had a great time. The food wowed everyone, because of course it's excellent, but we also really liked the atmosphere. There's room to sit at the bar or spend time just enjoying a glass of wine, the vibe in that are is warm and welcoming, but there's also plenty of seating and tables in the dining room areas for couples or groups. We had a table of 6, and the staff were attentive without being overwhelming. I'd prefer a few more Italian reds on the wine list, but otherwise almost no notes. read more

Do you remember Fazolis? Well it's back and now it's called Vino Cappucino. I was really hoping to like this place but unfortunately I just can't. The food was really bad. We sat outside and it was great weather, but the table and chairs were so uncomfortable. We started with the fried eggplant, it was moderately ok but the breading lacked flavor and the marinara was more like a bad pizza sauce. Next was salad. The salad was bizarre. The lettuce pieces were way too big and it was topped with shredded mozzarella and what had to have been bruschetta tomato and a rock hard crostini. For entrees we had the Cajun shrimp pasta which was bland and the sauce was broken, and the pasta with mussels and shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked and chewy and the mussels were mealy. The pasta was not fresh and it was totally limp and overdone. The sauce reminded me of chef boyardee. All this at some really high prices to boot. Overall just a real disappointment read more

Vino Cappuccino is one of my favorite places to go whether I am wanting a full meal, or a few drinks after a long day. The atmosphere always feels romantic and they even have a nice patio. The food has always been outstanding no matter what. I tried their lasagna, and pasta Alfredo. Recently, my favorite meal has been the shrimp and mussels Alfredo pasta! Hands-down is the best. As I walked in there was a bunch of people congregating. They were waiting for food pick up. One person was saying "you blatantly lied to me. This is unacceptable." So not great start but two sides to every story. Got there are 6pm. The staffer was a little pushy to get items. 15 min later we got the saganaki, a flambéed cheese. The flambleed show was done by a nervous assistant with headphones. Maybe 10 minutes later we got the salads. And 6:40 to 7:30 to get entrees. At 7:35 we were the only ones in the back room. The shrimp was kinda burnt but they remade it. The puntunesca and salmon was good. The Cajun chicken and Cajun shrimp was very good, as was the pesto Alfredo was really good. The pizza came at 7:55. They admitted they forgot about the pizza. I think they heard me talk about. The comped the shrimp, pizza. and gave free 2 desserts. The music in the main area was a little louder than I'd like. We love their 2 for 1 all day every day on carry out pizza and pasta. Great variety of pizza and the cheese blend they use is amazing. I'd never been one for pepperoni until this restaurant. Excellent food. I had the new Cajun Shrimp Pasta and it was very good. My wife loved the lasagna. We had great staff helping us. Service was good. Had a martini with three olives ($15) and I like that they leave you with the shaker. Ordered the stuffed avocado with chicken, bacon and cheese. It was good, way too much cheese though. Dining partners had the prosciutto with tortellini, pizza and I had the rigatoni with sausage. Prosciutto was literally sheets of the sliced ham laying on top of a very very heavy overly sauced tortellini with peas (held on the mushrooms). Tasted like sysco tortellini and the prosciutto was off putting in that it wasn't sliced, diced or warmed. Just cold sheets of prosciutto laying on top of the pasta making the entire dish difficult to eat and overly salty. Rigatoni was a heavy cream sauce as well with sparse sausage and mushrooms tasted like they were from a can. Noodles were cooked el dente but it was swimming in sauce. Pizza was the highlight the pepperoni supreme or ultimate (can't remember). Otherwise pretty blah. Probably order a pizza from them again as they do have a nice crust but that's about the limit. I wouldn't go back for pasta but will order pizza for take away. Elbow room opened up next door so I'll probably go back there. read more

This was overall a good experience! Maybe seems a little pricey for what it actually is. My boyfriend got the lasagna and didn't love it. I enjoyed the chicken parm sandwich, but probably wouldn't get it again. The cheese breadsticks and turtle cheesecake were amazing!! We would definitely be back again to try more items. The pizza looked popular! People were either doing take out or dining in and getting pizza! The menu is big and there is a lot to choose from! I do not understand how this place has as many good reviews that it does. Perhaps we were there on an off night or our pallet is not that of the diners who have reviewed this establishment in the past. I cannot help to wonder if the folks who live in the area have lost their sense of taste for fresh food. For starters we had Bruschetta that was loaded with onions and soaked with an overly sweet thick balsamic glaze served on cold stale bread slices. I ordered a build your own 12" pizza with red sauce, pesto, fresh tomatoes and asiago cheese. The asiago (I was told after I ordered) was a blend, and I could tell it had fillers since it was heavy, gritty & very salty. I ate less then 1/2. My husband ordered Spaghetti con Aragosta, described as lobster tail over spaghetti with a tomato, wine and garlic sauce. What he got was Argosta that did not bring Spain and Italy together. The lobster was tough and chewy and presumed microwaved to order. The sauce was thick, bland and tasteless with the undertone taste of Campbell's Tomato Soup. Not one thing we ate at Vino contained fresh ingredients aside from a salad. The $100. meal was not worth the belly ache we woke up with in the morning. Sorry I will not be back. read more

Hard to order, crazy pricing, sad little pizza. Coudn't find prices online, their website was down, wildly differnt pricing on doordash vs. grubhub vs. old yelp and trip advisor, plus they don't offer 2 for 1 pizza if your order off any service, you just pay full price and get 1. So just called by phone and ordered two 12 inch pizzas on the 2 for 1 deal and picked up two sad little pizzas with almost no topings that were for sure smaller than 12 inch, like barely appitizer size. But due to a baby shower that was being held in one of the large dining rooms, our wait was extended. There were only two servers, and while one wasn't tending to the customers, he was also the bartender while the other young lady was catering to the larger party to include us two. It's a good thing my interest was only for coffee. I counted four restaurant workers in all that were present in the establishment. Our food was ok, and the second cup of coffee subpar. Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. Since I was a Vino Cappuccino I decided I should have both. I had the Rum Chata cappuccino which was absolutely fan-freaking-tastic! I honestly cannot recall which wine I had as I had a pretty good buzz when we got there, but I remember it was red and quite good. We ordered the eggplant parmazana and the grilled chicken sandwich. Both were very delicious and quite generous portions as we took half home. Service was quite good as was the ambiance. It was quiet...possibly due to the time of day. Although the ambience is very nice, romantic one could say, the menu choices were extremely limited in variety and the food was terrible. Went here with some friends who had been here once before for pizza and liked it. Although the menu had many items, the variety of pasta choices was limited and it only had one alfredo sauce choice and almost all pasta's were rigatoni it seemed. They had three soup choices for the day but none where the typical minestrone (wedding) soups or even chicken noodle style but were all bean type soups only. The salads we chose instead were of poor quality. The cesar salad my wife chose, didn't taste much like a cesar and my creamy Italian was a poor tasting bottle quality poured into a small cup. My wife and I ordered chicken parmesan which was a large piece of breaded chicken but was quite burnt all around the sides. The spaghetti was inedible as the only taste that came through the thick dark red marinara sauce was a sickening SWEET taste. It was like eating sugar, really. The pasta itself seemed to have been scooped out and placed on the plate with a large melon baller and placed on the plate. It looked like like a big red tennis ball and it stayed in that shape even after trying a small forkfull with our first bites. We proceeded to eat only half our chicken, which unfortunately also had some of the sweet sauce taste to it as well, and stopped eating the pasta after the first awful fork full. Most restaurants bring baskets of bread of some type but not here. They served 2 thin slices of crusted bread on the platter of chicken. I asked if they served any soft bread and was told no. We did go on a Sunday afternoon of a holiday weekend. Their regular chef could not have been on duty based on other reviews of the food but our meals shouldn't have come out of a poor soup kitchen in the inner city. I rarely take time to write a review unless to compliment about a very good meal, but thought that this time, a bad review was warranted because of the sickening sweet sauce taste on the drowning ball of spaghetti. The waiter did offer us a complimentary limoncello for dessert after my answer to how our meal was, but we declined. We had had enough. Sorry to have to post this. read more

Used to be my favorite restaurant and will now never go back. Our party of 4 had a "suggested gratuity" listed on our check of 25%. When we paid, we did not feel the service was worthy of that as several mistakes were made during our dinner. We paid roughly 18% tip. The waiter returned and said we must pay the suggested gratuity because that is the policy. How is it "suggested" if it's actually mandatory? Forcing us to pay more for subpar experience was unacceptable and we will not be back. Very disappointing. read more

Saw an advertisement on Facebook for this little gem otherwise I likely wouldn't have known about it. We sat in the outdoor patio and its setup was super "COVID-19 friendly"; almost an office-like cubicle setting. I ordered the Penne Alla Putanesca and my husband ordered the chicken pesto pizza. Both dishes came pipping hot! Pasta was cooked to perfection and the red sauce has a great, salty tomato taste. The pizza could have used a bit more cheese but overall very good. They had a great selection of glass by the wine. If you like Malbecs, try the Tamari. The beer selection is far more limited but you should be able to find one of your top 3 favorites. We had four people in our party and we all enjoyed our dinner. Vino's ambiance is cozy and felt like an authentic Italian restaurant. Lighting was flattering too. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service was terrific. Portions were good as well. They lost one star because they were out of 3 different menu items that we wanted to order. Also, I can't think of one other Italian restaurant that doesn't serve complimentary bread/breadsticks and butter/olive oil. That said, I will definitely be back, and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Italian food. read more

My wife chose the white sauce i did the red sauce. Both amazingly delicious noodles done Al dente shrimp perfectly cooked garlic bread side perfect complement. Portion size large like a real Italian restaurant. Not some national chain slap together menu. Definitely freshly prepared with love and compassion. We will both be taking Togo trays home tonight. Which ever is more expensive that is what you pay for and the other is free. This is a TAKE OUT only special but so worth it. This is the second time I have been there. Each time the service was slow. We were a party of four. two of us ordered the Lobster Ravioli. It was cold. we sent it back and they did remake it, and it was good. One person in our party ordered a pizza it was also cold , but she was hungry and decided to eat it along with the other person in our party. The service was extremely slow. When our food came cold my daughter had to basically chase after our server so that we could send it back. We discovered this wonderful gem tonight! It's located conveniently off of Brookfield Road, north of North Avenue! They offer ourdoor dining (fully heated) as well as in door dining. Since it was our 1st time here, I ordered the salmon, served with salad, garlic bread, as well as veggies and rice pilaf! My husband tried their penne pasta with sausage. Both of our meals were wonderful! We are temporarily living in the Brookfield area, but we plan to visit weekly! Great food, with great service. A shout out to our awesome server, Cari! Great lemon and cucumber water! Reservation for 2 for 6:30. We were business casual dress. We arrived at 6:15 was sat right away with menus. We are given a carafe of lemon / cucumber water. Tons of carry out business going on. Rather busy business. Received refill on the water without even having to ask for it. Even had unfortunate entertainment doing misdeeds to Motown hits. Each attempt to catch a servers attention was brushed off. The table sat after us got their cocktails at 6:50. We then walked out unnoticed. Apparently you need to be a Karen to get service. I really wanted to like the place. Cool location in historic downtown Brookfield, good staff, pizza! But the food just left me feeling meh. I had goat cheese with pesto appetizers that were the highlight followed by a dish of tortellini Gorgonzola. The flavor wasn't bad at all but there sadly wasn't anything memorable about it. My son had a pizza that was touted as coming with fresh mozzarella but it seemed to be typical shredded. Like I said, nothing was bad either. Try it out and let me know. read more

Went 7/26 was told the fish fry was beer batter but it was breaded so some disappointed. Quality of the fish was excellent. Hubby ordered mussels in wine what was served was their mussels in red sauce. Ok we will survive but the mussels on top were cold and dry lower were hot and tasty but not what we ordered.
