Okay - so I'm in an airport. And that comes with all kinds of assumptions about the eating and drinking establishments and most of them are true. So I came here expecting further confirmations of my past experiences. And - lets be honest - all I had was a nice, lower-mid shelf Malbec and "cured" olives of various kinds - abundantly supplied at well below airport prices. So not a lot to "review". Still - it was a pleasant, professional, well-presented and bright spot in a sea of averageness. They had other promising possibilities that my schedule did not permit but my next visit to this terminal will see me back again. About the only nice establishment in Terminal C. The opening hostess is was extremely personable and friendly. Very much enjoyed talking with her as I sat enjoying a last glass of wine prior to leaving the Big Easy. By the time the wine bar opened it was sparkling clean. Actually it is the only clean spot tucked between C8/C12 and the rotunda / circle in the whole of Terminal C. Wine prices are what I would expect in an airport. Found out the offerings change depending on location (Nashville 2 weeks ago had different food and wine options), with an effort to have some local items (ex: Creole mustard in New Orleans). Even wine flights differ from location to location. As usual, I found the flights reasonably priced. The service was 70% hit and 30% miss. One woman was helpful and assisted customers in finding a wine they would like associating options provided with other, more recognizable varieties... The other served my plate on a platter that was upside down, answered "that's just how our prosciutto is" when I questioned why it's orange tinted, and (while she explained the meat/cheese) never identified what some of the more unusual items we're on my chartuterie board. PS: the real answer to why the prosciutto is orange = because it is a little bit spicy. read more

The bar server was very kind and polite but her "manager" was polar opposite. Offered water, never served it, I ordered my wine and food. Avocado toast on sourdough. Basic. When it came the bread was very thin and tasted bland. Basically it was plain bread toast. When I asked about the sourdough bread the manager rudely was condensing, snarky and didn't take a second of her time. She was rude. I noted it and the kind server behind the bar told her what I said . You could see the manager was seething. She came over and told me she was busy and apologized about being rude. This is a pretty cool airport spot in an area desperately lacking anything cool. For being New Orleans, the airport is pretty lame. But this spot classes it up a bit and gives weary travelers a few solid options. The wine list is comprehensive but a bit overpriced. I didn't drink as I was nursing a NOLA hangover but I can certainly appreciate a good wine list. The food was really fresh and a nice departure from the pre-wrapped $17 sandwiches elsewhere in the airport. I highly recommend the tomato soup. I also ordered a salad with chicken in it, I forget the specifics but it was delicious. The desserts look excellent as well. The seating is comfy and for that reason I feel like the staff wants you out quickly so you do not linger and take up space for paying customers. It definitely felt a little rushed but I get it. My husband got a glass of the house red, and I did a wine flight because that seemed really fun. The flights don't end up being any more than one glass of wine when you put them all together, but they are similarly priced as one glass so i was okay with that. I enjoyed dining at Vino Volo while waiting for our flight. It's more private and comfortable seating while being in an airport. Our server was really nice but the other one that checked on us didn't have a great demeanor. It was kind of confusing because we started with one server but closed out with a different one. Ate here at a layover. Had the tomato soup and two of my colleagues had flights of wine. The soup was yummy but a very small portion (less than 1 cup) for $10. The set up is nicer for an airport (cute tables, nice looking menu, etc) so if you sit towards the inside you can pretend you're not in an airport (perhaps). I love Vino Volo so much, I think I'll take it into consideration of which airports to fly into and out of. The wine selections are fun. They have a cute soft chair and table section and the whole bar area is well thought out as far as layout with plenty of purse hooks and electrical plugs to charge your phones or tablets. The seating area and bar were both packed when we arrived, so we decided to order food to go. While we were waiting a table opened up and we were able to grab it. The staff was very accommodating and changed our to go order to table service. We had the shades of white wine flight and it was so good we went for a bottle of the Riesling. The roasted chicken breast salad was delicious! Fresh ingredients and good flavor. I also appreciated that only ages 18+ are allowed (sign clearly posted at the entrance). I sat at the bar for ten minutes before anybody acknowledged me, even though three employees were right in front of me the whole time. I gave my card to run when I placed my order, nobody ran the card. I don't understand why they pay four people to work the same shift and stand around. We were at the location at the Louis Armstrong airport and our experience was not great. We sat down to order some appetizers and drinks and were pretty much ran off by the staff. She walked up to us and asked if we were going to order something and we said yes. We had drinks from our previous spot and she told us we couldn't sit there with those drinks...which we were finishing. She gave us no time to finish them and pretty much said we needed to leave, even though we were going to be purchasing food and drinks, like she asked. It was weird because every other place in the entire airport allowed us to have our drinks from other places, we could even sit at our terminal with a drink, but we could not be given time to finish our drinks, or even order. She was a bit snotty about it. I stopped by at Vino for a quick bite before boarding my flight out of New Orleans. It seemed to be the only place that had some decent vegetarian options in Terminal C. I ordered a bowl of lentil soup & a cheese plate. Since it was taking too long for my order, I requested the hostess to let the server know to make the cheese plate to go. To my disappointment, the server packed the soup and cheese plate in a to-go box. When I pointed out that I'd have liked to have the lentil soup right away, the hostess very dismissively told the server that she'd 'handle me' and loudly stated that I was confused. I found the hostess's behavior rude and unacceptable. This same hostess also smirked & made rude comments to her co-workers when an elderly lady at one of the tables dropped her glass. Believe it or not, this was actually some of the best food we had during my stay in New Orleans. So the idea is to have a "wine bar" in the airport. Simple enough. For a wine lover it's a no-brainer. However, when food is added into the mix, the more thought out into the menu the better the experience. Vino Volo strikes out on the food. I have the Mac and cheese with some kind of Cajun inspired sausage and left with a $40 bill and the awful taste of what had to be birthed in a microwave. The only good part was the wine, and the server, which were excellent . Anything brought in a airport is already overpriced and that is already known by the experienced traveler. However, one should expect to receive something commensurate to what they pay. My advice, stick with the wine and go to the food stand for a meal. Honestly the food is great and the wines were awesome so I hate to give such a low review. The reason I am is because the people who worked there were very very rude to me. One server in particular was being a little rude to everyone, but especially to me. I kept asking for another can of wine and they kept passive aggressively not bringing it. Then after the third time asking, I made a joke asking if there's some rule that says I have to finish my glass before ordering more and the somewhat nicer server said that there wasn't and that she'd bring it right away but she didn't. The extra rude server came over to me later and told me to stop asking everyone about a new wine fan because they were waiting for me to finish my glass. Her tone and attitude made an already bad night worse. I'm happy the airport has a fancy new wine bar with good food and wine. But if you go there, don't expect to be treated well. read more

Do to the horrible service at the restaurant I decided to take the time out to join yelp. I did not visit this restaurant, however my mom did. I'm writing this review on my mother's behalf because she was beyond upset. My mom wrote an email to this company's corporate office please review it, I was shocked. I was a customer on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Vino Volo (your New Orleans airport location). This was my first time visiting Vino Volo and I was so excited to see what this company had to offer. However, that feeling changed drastically after I was taunted by laughs of employees and disrespected by the restaurant's manager, Angela Woodard. Ms. Woodard was our server, my husband and I asked a series of questions regarding the menu, because that's what you do when your unfamiliar a restaurant.'s menu. After we placed our order with Ms. Woodard she walked over to the bar and began talking about my husband and I to her employees. I knew she was talking about us because she was pointing at us and made several hand movements in frustration. The employees began to laugh and stared at us. I had never felt so uncomfortable in my entire life. My husband then approached the bar and asked for the manager. Ms. Woodard came over to our table, we were unaware that she was the manager the entire time. I was very surprised that a manager would act the way she did. My husband explained to Ms. Woodard how we observed the activities behind our questions and then the unthinkable happened. Ms. Woodard ended the conversation with "PLEASE LEAVE". I was in absolute shock. My husband and I felt so embarrassed and worst of all, hurt. We did absolutely nothing wrong. Angela Woodard's actions was unacceptable and so was the entire staff's. No one should ever endure the type of service that we did. I am disgusted by this company and I will never visit your restaurant again. I hope that the appropriate actions are taken, so that other customers will not have to deal with such foolishness. read more

They only serve wine and beer and they only have a one page menu but they do it extremely well. Their service is amazing. Although they have table seating I choose to sit at the bar. The lady working the bar was on top of it. She didn't leave me wanting for anything. Every time my I took a mouth full of my water she was refilling it. She noticed I dropped my napkin and was passing me a new one before I could even ask. I would usually have a drink but I was feeling tired and so I opted for water. Normally when you sit at a bar in any establishment and order water with your meal your service seems to go down a little. This was not the case at Vino. They still went above and beyond to make my experience awesome. My Tuscan Chicken Sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever ever eaten.
