Vinoteca has an excellent international tasting menu. We found some wines that we have never tried before. The service was excellent and the ambiance was warm and inviting.

Such a sweet wine shop and tasting room. I loved that you can just start with a couple 1/2 glasses. I particularly enjoyed the orange wine (this one was from a vineyard in Greece) and the servers/owner(s) were extremely friendly and hospitable hosts, who let us try a few different wines and recommended a lovely bottle of bubbles for me to take home as a gift for a friend. There was ample seating for us to choose from without a reservation after brunch on a Saturday and the space is nice and open with card and board games.

This place is such a gem "super cute, cozy, wine bar, with boardgames, comfortable couches, and an outdoor seating area. The folks working there are incredibly friendly and focused on ensuring you have a great experience. This is my second visit, we usually take our tasting flight and sit outside so we can keep an eye on the kids while they play at the arcades next-door. Best of all, they have a bubbly tasting flight!

What a nice tasting room. Great atmosphere in Half Moon Bay - nice to do a tasting next to a wall rack full of bottles! I tried the red flight, and it was amazing starting with a Nebbiolo, followed by a Malbec, and then a Tempranillo. Suppose a generous and really good deal for the price I had an empanada as a snack, and it was really good. I would consider this one of the better wine tasting places in the area.

My review is related to the experience I had with Vinoteca during the Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay. I saw they had a pumpkin spice sangria for $13, and ordered two for me and a friend. I don't know if this is because they were really trying to squeeze every cent from us or if it was an issue with the person pouring, but man do they skimp on their pours. The picture you see below is the amount of sangria I received without me drinking any yet - they pour only to about 70% of the cup size with half the cup being pure ice and fruits. Basically, this was maybe about 2 shot glasses worth of sangria in this very small cup already for $13 + tax. I finished it in two big sips. It only looks like this much because of the ice and fruit! We would have been happy if it was at least filled to the top line of the cup instead of whatever this is. Flavor was really good but it left me wanting more. I'd probably be better off making a bottle of this myself at home for around the same price.

Had a really nice drop in here during a fall afternoon. Kim was a great host and explained the wines thoroughly and well. Will definitely be back!

This is a must try. The pumping sangria is out of this world. Flavorful but creeper so becareful and paste yourself. But super yum so happy I found this spot

Came here for a friend's birthday. I wish there was more information online about their menu, but overall, we had a fantastic time, enjoying both the wine and food. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially for those of us less familiar with wine. The quaint, small setting adds to the charm, and I'll definitely return. It's a lovely spot to unwind and savor a glass of wine.

Nicole is awesome! She loves her wines, is super personable and wants to make sure you have a great time. I have been here a few times and it never disappoints me. If youre in the area, stop by and check it out

Such a fun and unique experience, perfect for anyone with any level of artistic ability!…read more My mom and I took a glassblowing class here and both opted to make the milk jug/small vase. They have a handful of tiers that have different items you can make including paper weights, ornaments, pumpkin, and a terrarium. Each tier is priced differently and gradually increases as you move up a tier. When you book/preregister for your class, you have to select the tier you want to make from, but you are able to change it when you get there. My mom had selected a tier 2 item when booking, but switched to tier 1 the day of, and we were charged appropriately. Instructors were very helpful and gave good insight and demonstrated how the process worked. They were very hands on, and could be even more so if you needed them to be. Our class had some younger kids as well as adults, and everyone was given great care and the assistance they needed. You take turns each making your piece one at a time, so the actual process per person probably took around 20 minutes for tier 0-2 items. Depending on class size and how many people are in your group/when you arrive, you could expect to be there anywhere from 1 hour to 2.5. You don't get to take your blowing home right away, it has to sit in a hot oven overnight to set, so I sadly haven't seen my finished product yet, but I can't wait to pick it up and start putting it to use! Good pro-tip, wear long sleeves! I wore short sleeves because I figured I would be too hot in long, but the molten glass is VERY HOT and can irritate your skin just from the proximity! My arm turned super red and had a little bit of a heat rash the rest of the day, but it went away by the next morning.

I didn't know what to expect but it ended up being such a fun and unique experience. It's easy to book your glass blowing session online and it's only $80 for a small item. My friends and I all made small pumpkins to remember our visit and they turned out to be so beautiful. The day we came someone was wrong with the oven. It wasn't as hot as it should've been but the workers teaching us were very cool and easy going and we were still able to make our glass. They gave great instruction and helped us the whole time. I learned so much and loved learning how to do this! I like that they can even mail you your item for a small fee since it takes a day or two to cool. I would definitely do this again! It's such a special experience.

There is a section of the garden where they grow all the flowers for the bouquets inside the house. There are trails over to the redwoods, a wedding area, souvenir shop, small cafe, and even a pool. Parking is a bit of a walk from the gardens so if someone in your group needs assistance walking, bring some sort of seat for them to take rests. I came a few times by myself to find inspiration. The best times are weekday mornings. And Sunday I always forget they close the road for the bicyclists coming from the North/92. I would also recommend stopping by the water temple on a weekday. The only reason I knew about it was because it is featured on the mural in Trader Joe's on Hillsdale. If you want to do picnicing, there are picnic tables outside. They want you to purchase food from their venues...but the venues on the grounds aren't amazing, but maybe that's so people don't litter. The cafe has some interesting options, like $15 cake slices...I always wonder if they're made in-house. It's not advertised though, so who knows. Filoli also has a volunteer program so if you want to have an active experience at Filoli, you can help with the weeding. I like that they feature local artists - I recognized some items from an Etsy artist local to the Bay Area, whom I have purchased from before, because they focus on local California wildlife. Cons: Sometimes people clog up the walkways with their picture-taking as in there are people waiting to cross...and they continue to take pictures for five more minutes...It's just bad etiquette. Are you milking it so you can feel important? Gag. Or they play loud music to harass the birds and other people. People aren't paying money to listen to your music. They don't want your music. Get a job and buy earbuds. Some people also don't really care if their kids do stupid things...like ruin the decorations so everyone can stare at their kids' handiwork all season long - like poking holes in the macron cake tower. Thanks for that. Or sometimes, there is a sign to keep to the path...so you know...people walk anywhere BUT the path. I'm not sure if they can't read or if they're just so entitled. But yeah, they stomp all over the ground so the plants die...and they're cool with it, because they got their stupid photo. Or maybe on the trail...if there are people coming up behind you, just like in golf, let them through. It's OK to stand to the side and let others pass. THAT'S the proper etiquette. Otherwise, I'm just thinking, they must really want me to listen to their conversation or something. They want to look like they have friends? No one else in the world is more important, so they must be first? If you want to meander in the forest at 0.25 mph, that's fine, but you don't need to have me behind you for the entire mile. And no, I'm not talking about the lady with the hip problem or the mom with the stroller, I'm talking about the 20-something-year olds who wore platforms on a forest date with me as a third wheel. But most of the time, people are respectful and polite. I like that people come and just hang out and enjoy the private park.
