OK 21/2 stars - Our waitress Miriam was terrific - she kept our water glasses full and checked on us without it feeling intrusive. We got there just in time for happy hour & had fried calamari appetizer which was the best I've ever had. Other than that the dinner wasn't very impressive. My husband had the pot roast and it tasted like when I leave it in the slow cooker broth too long and the mac and cheese was tasteless but you could tell it had a lot of cheese in it. How did the cook do that? My clam chowder was very thick with lots of potatoes but few clams. Maybe the cook didn't stir it that well before plating. Did I mention that it was very, very thick? The fish and chips is always good - I've had it many times over the yrs. and I love the stained glass lamps :-) I once would have given them a 5 star review but as much as I wanted to this time, I couldn't. I'll give them another chance, but not order the pot roast again and maybe it'll be a 5 star review again. read more

Great 90s food I wish the plates had balloons and neon streamers on it. Both soups were fantastic and the Caesar salad was crunchy and delicious. The Ruben was rad and the chicken strips were totally tubular. The atmosphere is awesome as well it's like a Time Machine. read more

Eh. I liked my Chicken Caesar, but the problem was that, that was the only thing i liked on the whole menu. NOT a very big selection at all? And im not a big burger person, but if you are, you should actually try this place out if you're having just a relaxing day. But if you are like me, and not a big burger person, i suggest not. About 12 burgers to choose from, 3 types of salads, and 3 kinds of soups.. not really my thing. Plus, when i asked for a root beer with no ice, they gave me a watery root beer with ice. Grrr. After having eaten at the Vintage Cafe hundreds of times, you would think that I would already have written a revue, but here goes the first. The Vintage Cafe, located in an 1893 building in downtown Everett represents "value" dining .... something lacking in most establishments. They buy good quality ingredients for their chosen home-style menu, cook the dishes tastefully and serve adequate portions at affordable prices. The wait staff is attentive and kind, and the cooks are trained to emulate the head chef, who has been with the Vintage for over 20 years. What more is there to say? The Vintage is a comfortable place for meetings, coffee, lunch, and dinner; they aim to please and do so, using an extensive knowledge of the business that dates back some 40 years. I guess that I will eat there a few hundred more times. read more

Had time prior to a concert at the arena and decided to stop at the Vintage Cafe because it looked great from the outside. The customer service was the worst I have ever come across in a restaurant in my lifetime. You seat yourselves and the table we sat at had dirty dishes which no one ended up clearing. Had to flag a server to take our order, drinks (water, iced tea and glass of wine) took 15 min to arrive and no refills were offered. Food took an additional 35 min to arrive (it was 3 appetizers from the happy hour menu) and after she plunked the (cold & mushy) food down she ran off and we literally never saw her again. No one brought the bill so I had to go to the bar and ask them to break a $20 (had to speak to 2 diff stressed out servers). Still no bill so we tallied everything up in our heads, put down the cash (they're lucky we paid!) and got out of there. Many people came in - no one was greeted or even acknowledged by the waitstaff even if they had been standing there a significant amount of time. Many tables were empty but hadn't been bussed. Servers looked and acted like they were being harassed. Maybe they're better at breakfast and lunch, but because of our horrific experience we will never go back or recommend it to anyone. read more

Here's the problem with the vintage. It's obvious there is a wide split of reviews. However, for the majority of patrons, unless you've been dining at the bar of the Vintage for the last 60+ years and have "your usual", you're probably not going to have a good experience. The food can be tasty, and the location is prime with cool decor, but the staff and service is what ruins an otherwise great experience. My nursing class tried to make this place a regular spot after our tests, and despite being a large group, we were courteous and called ahead to let them know we were coming. Much of use being in the service industry while attending school, we are a generous group of tippers. But after repeatedly being treated like an inconvenience for giving them business, and exhibiting levels of patience well beyond what was deserved, we could not continue to visit without having a terrible experience. Even when I was dining with one other guest, the lack of service and disinterested staff was so off-putting. I felt like a burden for visiting. I can't in good faith recommend anyone dine here, unless something changes with their management and staff. read more

Garbage. I've been here once before, and it was tolerable. But this morning my boyfriend brought home their "special" of the morning. It was supposed to be a delectable omelet with veggies, crab, and cheese. Instead I got a rubbery, brownish sponge with over cooked veggies and zero cheese. Wouldn't even use crab to describe the protein. On the side there was uneven diced potatoes that were barely cooked. I won't be going back. I wouldn't recommend this. I've come here a few times, always on a Sunday morning. This place has got to have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is always the same waitress by herself on a busy Sunday morning, I am not sure why they don't hire others. Well yesterday morning I was there with my dad and a group of his church buddies. The waitress was rude didn't look anyone in the eyes, didn't give anyone much time to speak their order. A few of the people at our table ordered coffee, she slammed their cups down and their coffee splashed everywhere, allover their cups and table. My wife and I stopped in here for breakfast, and everything was excellent. It's a very clean and cozy little brick pub with lots of antiques and art. The staff were very friendly and provided exceptional service. We ordered the vintage hungeryman, which was way more food than I expected. It was so tasty that I nearly ate myself into a coma. If I could give a MINUS 1 star I would. Love the look of the place however the service is . . .. . . you immediately feel like you are burden, there is no greeting, never a thank you, do you need anything else, I guess if you like grouchy, gum chewing waitresses, this is your place. The food was ok. Unfortunately I had to use the restroom - was SHOCKED to see numerous rat turds on the floor. If they are in the bathroom, what's the kitchen look like? A friend and I stopped in on a whim because he had been there before and said the food was really good. Upon arriving we were sorta on our own I understand seating your self but I feel like I could have grabbed things off the tables and left with them. There was no greetings smiles or anything it was kind of unwelcoming we walked in it wasn't really busy everyone was already taken care of or so it seemed the waitress never even looked at us 5 minutes in she arrived to give us menus no hellos nothing just set them down and walked away we figured out our orders and waited another 10 minutes and she finally came back to take our order after what seemed like for ever at least 20 minutes our food arrived his was short a piece of fish but he thought it was really good! And mine was good as well in the end once we got the check she had charged us for the fish he never got and was pushy once his credit card wouldn't slide well and she had to manually type in the numbers. Iv been going to the Vintage Café for 8 months the food is nothing more than a greasy spoon. The service is ok if you can get past the attitude with some. As far as the Fry cook I was fed better in Military while in combat. read more

Great food. Great service. I ordered the mushroom and swiss omelette and found it to be very tasty. Home fries came with it and were done just right where they had a little crisp to them but weren't cooked too much as some places do. Even the wheat toast was good, made with real butter and not some oily spread. Also liked the decor with beautiful antique tables and decorative pieces with Tiffany-style lamps. February 25th 2017 my husband and I met friends at The Vintage before a Silver Tips game. There were 8 of us and we were seated at the bar because there were no tables for a party that large. We got there at 5:00pm and at 5:35 we still had not been acknowledged let alone given water or had our drink orders taken. My husband complained and they at least began looking at us. It was the then owner came in and came to chat with my friend who is a regular there. She told him what was going on and he said he would fix it. At 5:45 we finally had drink orders taken. We ended up leaving there at 6:40 (mind you there for an hour and 40 minutes for chicken strips and 1 drink) It was my 1st AND LAST experience at The Vintage. The thing that pissed me off more anything was the owner chatting with my friend as we were leaving about the terrible service that evening and as he walked away she didn't hear his comments but I did.....so....everything worked out just fine SO QUIT YER BITCHIN'! I have eaten here a couple times and I was pleased with my food. The fries are crunchy and good. The sandwich was excellent. I liked the old fashion decor as well. This may not be the place to have a fancy meal, but if you are looking for home-style diner type fare, I think they fit the bill. Prices are not too bad, and the portions are good. The one complaint I have that keeps it from 5 stars, is the speed that you receive your meal. It seems like they need a new, more efficient cooking staff. read more

We were looking all over for a place for lunch on a Sunday. The building is so pretty, it was very clean inside, nice pictures on the wall, and the food was spectacular! Now, a different story would be the waitress! She was rude from the get-go, slammed most everything down on the table. Never smiled once (and we had 2 very cute kids who were little angels) and you could tell she was mad about something or just didn't like to be there on a Sunday or hated her job! Went to lunch at the Vintage on 5/22/12 with a group of people from a meeting. We walked into the restaurant the waitress, (the only waitress working), gave a nasty look and told us we could have at least called before we came in. This was a group of 8. We all tried to make it easy on her and ordered the fish and chips because I'd told them it was great there. The food was very good as usual and I love the atmosphere. From SF, Ca, visited mom in Everett last summer & went to Vintage. We had a horrible experience. Food was ok, atmosphere is good but the wait staff were AWFUL! The place wasn't busy, only 4 tables. Server never said hello, may I help you, just stood not looking at us, smacking her gum with her mouth open. We witnessed this server going off on this lady who politely asked for a 2nd cup of coffee (we had to do the same) and ended up BANNING the poor woman from the place. We were shocked & I thought we'd never return. Visiting mom again & she wanted to return (why??) to see if things had changed. NO WAY! Again, food was ok but the waitresses still have attitude, not friendly or helpful, like they really don't care if you're there or not & that they're doing you a FAVOR by serving you. I figured that w/our last experience I'd say something to the manager but found out that one of the waitresses was the manager and a relative of the people who own the place. At least now mom has agreed we won't return and there are far better and friendlier places to spend your money without feeling one has to beg for basic services. read more

A friend and I have visited this restaurant several times and I have always raved about the breakfast menu and service to my wife. Today, July 25, 2015, my wife and I stopped by the Vintage Cafe to have breakfast. As we entered the restaurant we saw the sign to "Seat Yourself." My wife asked if there was a special section we needed to sit in and the waitress said, "No." So we sat at a table near the front door of the restaurant where a couple of tables were occupied by another couple. None of the waitresses came by to say "Good Morning" or offered us a glass of water, menu or a cup of coffee. They did come by us to bus a table near us but did not acknowledge us sitting there waiting...they just walked by. Just then an older couple came into the restaurant, chatted with the two waitresses and found a table for two. I noticed one of the waitresses pouring a couple of glasses of water, grabbed two menus and headed out from behind the counter toward us. I thought she was finally bringing us a menu and water. Boy was I wrong. She walked by us and served the couple that just came and sat at the table near the window. The waitress walked by us again without acknowledging us. At that point our wait time was pushing 10 or 11 minutes. I got up, told my wife that we were leaving and simply walked out of the Vintage Cafe without anyone ever acknowledging us or serving us. I will never walk through the door of that restaurant ever again. I am a teacher, an educator of color, my wife is Norwegian and I am active in the Hawaiian community, my school district and the community where I live but today, I felt like I was back in the 1960's. read more

We love going to The Vintage when we just want to hang out and relax. It is dimly lit and always playing some sort of music but not too loud. They have down home cafe food. Don't expect a top of the line steak and lobster here! They have great burgers, chicken sandwiches and cheese fries! We love the homemade Mulligan stew! Their prices are great. The kids love to share their Alfredo pizza with pepperoni. We have never had our food undercooked! The service sometimes gets a little slow when they get really busy but you can get something if you need it just speak up! They don't hire tons of people so if you come in the middle of the lunch or dinner rush it may get a little slow but we have always had our glasses filled! And we are fine with not having somebody over our shoulders the entire time! They don't mind you sitting and having coffee! It is a relaxed down-home style cafe where you can kick off your shoes and visit while enjoying a great breakfast (my dads' fave!) or burger! I also want to mention they always find a place for my mom in her power wheelchair and work around her which is sometimes hard in other establishments. read more

I will never go here again, We went here for breakfast one morning and the waitress let us know we needed to hurry up and order because she had a banquet she was waiting on. Then when one of my friends didn't like her drink and ordered another she death glared her in front of all of us. When someone asked for one bacon and one sausage she said no way that was impossible even though the menu said 2 bacon or sausage. While we were there I noticed the patrons were all pretty much regulars and seemed very unhappy that someone under 65 was at this establishment. It feels like taking a time machine back to the prejudice of the 50's and the service is crap. And as a side note, after we left she gave out our credit card information to other customers from whom I received a personal attack in the days following. This girls HATES her job and has no fear of showing her disdain to respectful paying customers who just want a meal and to not be death glared or judged after they get off work. She needs to be fired or this place will loose lots or new customers in the future. read more
