    Garden Pesto Pasta
    Amanda J.

After golfing at The Links, my friends and I came here for dinner. It's super convenient being able to finish a round and walk right over for food. We started with the Hummus Plate (4/5) and Spicy Sage Fries (5/5). The hummus had really good flavor and I especially enjoyed the garlic and olives in it. It paired well with the fresh veggies. The pita bread was a bit dry. The fries were definitely my favorite appetizer. They were flavorful with a slight crisp on the outside which is exactly how I like them. For my main entree, I ordered the Pesto Garden Pasta (2.5/5). It came with a generous portion of vegetables and was a good size overall but I wasn't a fan of the pesto flavor or the texture of the noodles. For dessert, I tried the Raspberry Cheesecake (3/5). The flavor was good although I personally prefer a firmer crust. It was still a nice way to end the meal. Our server was very friendly and understanding of our large group that was there until closing.

This is a lovely restaurant. We sat on the outdoor patio with a view of the golf course and putting green. The weather was perfect which might contribute to my five star review. You know how everything feels great when the stars align well? I was in the company of fantastic friends with a beautiful backdrop and absolutely perfect Southern California weather. Our server was very attentive and took excellent care of us throughout our entire meal. All eight of us enjoyed our meals. The popular dinner to order was the fish and chips. I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection. My husband went with his usual hamburger which he loved. Cocktails flowed and were tasty. The restaurant was decorated for Easter. They put the grass and egg decor on the ceiling of the indoor space. They also created a wall for photo ops, which, of course we took advantage of. I hear their Christmas decorations are gorgeous and I hope to come back again to see that.

    Mimosas!

Best way to start the morning after a wild week long event? Mimosas at Brickmans :) I ordered a Steak and Egg Smash and my friend and I got the Build Your Own Mimosa. Drink was great, the food was so good (we both keep on wanting to come back, might just make a trip out here soon), and the view with all the golfers was nice! Our server was very sweet and attentive and made sure we had a fantastic meal. The menu for brunch was limited (which might be restrictive for other guests) but honestly that was enough to choose from for us so we were happy with our brunch experience. Overall rating: Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Menu: 9/10 Restaurant Vibes: 10/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 10/10

My friends and I came here during the holidays specifically to indulge in the festive cocktails and to check out their fully decked out holiday decor that ran from floor to ceiling. We were impressed with the decor and thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and food! Within our party of 6, we ordered the following drinks: Silent Night: non-alcoholic coffee liqueur, cream, peppermint, and tipplemans burnt brown sugar - This was my drink and I absolutely loved it! I appreciate how the peppermint flavor was present, but not overpowering. Holiday Staycation: non-alcoholic, dark, rum, house made spiced pear syrup, lime, and tipplemans burnt brown sugar Partridge Peartini: Tito's vodka, St. George pear liqueur, nux alpina walnut liqueur, house made pear syrup, lemon, and bitters Mistletoe Merry-Rita: dobel diamante tequila, dolin blanc vermouth, orange liqueur, lime, and house made spiced cranberry syrup Christmas Vacation: Appleton rum, planteray pineapple rum, passion fruit, velvet faker bum, cherry, lime, vanilla, and bitters Holly Jolly Spritz: aperol, lime cordial, house made cranberry syrup, lemon, and prosecco For food, we ordered fish n chips, burgers, Caesar salad, and grilled chicken salad for sharing. This could become a new holiday tradition. That said, we'll be back next Christmas! Great service and lots of free parking!

Love the Christmas Bar! Came here for the first time with some friends to see the bar and celebrate birthdays, and it did not disappoint. The bar was decorated inside and outside, and had a few photo ops like a sleigh, and a window box you can stand in. The ceiling was covered in ornaments and presents for decorations. The cocktail menu was new this year and not only were they very reasonable, they were also strong, and the 3 we had tasted really good. Drinks were all the same price of $15, which was cheaper than what we paid at another pop up bar, for weaker drinks that weren't as good. We tried the Merry Rita, the Christmas Vacation, Partridge Pear-tini, and the Holly Jolly spritz, and even both of the mocktails.. All of them were excellent and we'd order them again. The food was extremely reasonable priced and delicious. I got the fish and chips and it was flavorful and not too greasy. Two friends had the burger and said it was tasty as well. Since we were celebrating a birthday we got a free cheesecake which was nice. We all decided this was a must to do again next year. The service was also great, and they have a nice lounge set up that's decorated as well for the holidays.

I came here for Easter brunch and paid $85 for the buffet. Overall, it was just...mid. The breakfast side actually had a good variety. There was an omelette station (definitely the highlight for me), along with sausage, bacon, potatoes, and eggs. That part was solid, though the fruit selection was pretty limited. The lunch/dinner side had more options like honey baked ham, prime rib, mac and cheese, asparagus, and a vegetable medley. Unfortunately, this is where things really fell short. The ham had almost no flavor, and overall the food quality just didn't match the price point. They also had a dessert section with cookies, pastries, and other sweets, but nothing was labeled, so you had no idea what you were picking up. On top of that, most of the desserts tasted very generic, like something you'd get from a grocery store. There was a shrimp cocktail station, but the shrimp was very chewy and not good at all. They also had a small kids' section with hamburgers and another item, plus a separate area with caprese, and breakfast extras like pancakes or waffles and Greek yogurt. My biggest issue was the quality across the board. Even the bacon was thin and low quality. For $85, I expected much better. They also didn't have basic things like salt and pepper on the table, which was surprising. That said, the atmosphere was cute. The space was decorated nicely for Easter, and they had an Easter egg hunt and a bunny, which made it a fun experience overall. The staff members were nice, and I was checked on quite a bit. It's a nice place to celebrate the holiday for the vibe, but I wouldn't come back for the food. Maybe just for a drink.

This was our first time here after driving by it for years and we're so glad today was the day we discovered this trifecta of food, service, and ambiance. We sat inside, which was lovely, but will try the covered patio next time. Hubby had the a burger and I had a salad with salmon. The dressing was phenomenal! Both were delicious! Our server helped accommodate, eliminating gluten from my item, which I greatly appreciated.

Pleasantly surprised by Brickmans and their renovations. Sat at a high top near the bar. Service was outstanding with both bartenders and manager checking on us. Food was quite tasty. We got a burger and a salad. Both were delicious. Their espresso martini was made perfectly to order. Definitely will be back.

We went to this restaurants for breakfast while staying at the lakehouse hotel. It is about an 8-10 min walk or a 3-5 min drive from the hotel. The place is located next to a golf course with a great view. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We tried their breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, and the classic Benny. All were just ok. They have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages and two freshly made juices, I tried the one with carrot, orange and ginger and it was delicious. We went there twice and the service was very slow both times. We tried to go there for a third time but after waiting for a while without being seated, we ended up going elsewhere. That said, the servers were friendly and prices were reasonable.

Came here with my friends for a holiday pop up. They had a couple spots for photo opps. We had a reservation and it was very busy so we had to wait. The ceilings were decorated really cute with ornaments. They sat us outside and they had lights all over the ceiling there too. It was a foggy night and felt great out there. The fries and ranch were pretty good. I gor dry rub wings which I enjoyed. The tomato soup was too thick for me. I didn't even know this place existed! It was really fun.

Really happy to see the finally have a vegan/vegetarian option on their new spring menu. The tacos were really good. French toast was nothing special. They also have a fantastic breakfast burrito and you can remove the meat. Excited to check them out for dinner to see if they have options for vegetarian food then! Great outdoor patio food for dogs and strollers

Hot Chicken Sandwich and Birria Tacos.
    Hanna A.

My husband took me here for our anniversary. He ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich and I ordered the Birria Tacos. The Chicken Sandwich overall was good, but it used more slaw because of how big the chicken was to balance things out. The Birria Tacos were good and juicy, but over course it's not "traditional," I suppose. Would I order it again? Probably haha. The staff were very attentive. I think two different girls kept coming to our table, so it must have been slow. The place was nice and looked clean. I wasn't expecting a restaurant like that next to a gold course.

One is a nice, sit-down restaurant. One is a coffee house. The third is the Pocket Pool and Bar. We found the service to be good, but we really didn't enjoy the drinks. The space was rather empty in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. We received coupons good for two welcome beverages at The Pocket when checking in at the resort. When we arrived at The Pocket after checking in but while waiting for our room to be ready, we found ourselves to be the only guests there. No reservations were needed. The clouds were out but it would soon be nice and sunny. We sat down and each ordered a zero proof cocktail. The ask was for something fruity and sweet. We ordered a variation of the Feeling Peachy, consisting of peach puree, citrus, mint, and bubbles. We did choose to give the bartender the freedom to make drinks that would be fruity and sweet as none of the drinks on the menu sounded like what we were feeling for. The bartender brought us drinks that we tried and decided we wouldn't have ordered if we didn't have vouchers for free drinks. As such, we acknowledged they weren't for us, though if we would have paid for them, we would have been disappointed. As such, I'd encourage anyone ordering drinks at The Pocket to stick with drinks on the menu. Speaking of the menu, the menu offers beach bites like smashed guacamole, craklin' buffalo wings, elote fries, quesadilla, sunset ceviche, and dirty nachos. The main event dishes include blackened Baja fish tacos, the wagyu double smash, millionaire's BLT, coastal Cali burrito, and Pacific poke. The balanced-ish menu items include pocket Caesar, the wedge, paradise bowl, and the Santorini. Treat Yourself dishes include cookie sando, assorted fresh fruit, and seasonal sorbet. Beverages include cocktails, wine, drafts, cans, zero proof. The Pocket is a surf-inspired bar with a view. There are televisions to watch sports games, and with the bar being part indoors and part outdoors, you can catch the nice weather or escape from it depending on if it is sunny or rainy. You can make a reservation on OpenTable. The bar hours are open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM. The kitchen is open Monday through Thursday from 12 noon to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday from 12 noon to 7:30 PM, and Sunday from 12 noon to 6 PM. Should we visit the Alila Maria Beach Resort Encinitas again, we may give The Pocket a try again but more for the atmosphere, good service, and perhaps some bites instead of drinks.

The food was just as killer. The pastrami sliders were fantastic, albeit small. The tuna tostada was solid, but there should be 2 on the plate IMO. The potatoes and crispy mushrooms were very tasty. As the night drew on it got cooler inside but just be aware. The decor is adorable and the DJ was super fun. Our waitress said most of their serving dishes and glasses are antiques that the owner has collected. Love that. We ordered a glass of Gamay (because it was served cold) and beer to start. We ended up getting a bottle of the Lester Pinot Noir also because it was cold. They will let you taste any wines even before you order a full glass and that's super awesome. Note they only have beer and wine. The food was good and as everyone else has said, the portions are small. We started with the pastrami gougeres which was definitely my favorite thing that we ordered. Very, very good and not nearly as heavy as I thought they would be. I was afraid to order them because I didn't know if they'd be super filling (they are just the right amount). The summer tomato salad had an amazing ginger dressing and I thought was a pretty decent size for a small plate. The salad changes and uses seasonal ingredients. The peach was great with the tomatoes though I wish the peach had been a little more ripe. The bbq potatoes were great, my boyfriend liked those the most. And we ended with the scallops which were good but only two pieces. Definitely ask for a spoon if you get the scallops so you can make sure and get all the sauce. Overall, it's a very cute spot. Not sure if we'll go back only because it is pretty costly for the amount of food you get. But I do recommend it.

The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.
