Our condo association had new fencing installed by Vinyl Concepts during the summer last year (2015) and we LOVE it! HOA Board members spent a lot of time on the front end with Vinyl Concepts staff going over specifications in great detail, refining and clarifying throughout each step of the process - I'm sure this helped us all. The City of Pasadena can be very persnickety when it comes to issuing permits for changes of any sort, but the Vinyl Concepts folks took care of all that on our behalf and were able to accommodate our needs and the City's demands though it meant some back-and-forth - these guys went the extra mile. Communication was always good, our questions were always promptly answered, and when we did hit a hiccup or two during the last day or so of installation, they worked with us to get the job done to our 100% satisfaction though it meant some schedule juggling on their end. The guys who worked on site were very diligent and hard-working despite extremely hot weather. When we needed a new vinyl privacy fence between our west LA house and our neighbor's house, we obtained several quotes. Vinyl Concepts offered the best warranty, and they use the highest quality materials, all for a price that was not much more than the prices quoted by other companies that didn't seem to compare to the quality of VC. My neighbor and I were contemplating replacement of our shared fence. We had several ideas but they were expensive (cement block or brick) and/or required alot of future maintenance (wood). I saw an ad in TheHomeMag for Vinyl Concepts so decided to give them a call to see what vinyl fencing was all about. I'll admit it, I was very skeptical of plastic fences. I've seen them and they look, well, plastic! But I wanted to keep an open mind so I gave them a call to set up a quote. The salesman that visited me is named Dave. Very friendly guy, answered my questions, showed me samples and gave me a very thorough estimate. My neighbor and I visited their showroom in Newbury Park which really gave us a great feel for vinyl fencing options. While white, tan and beige fences are obviously plastic, there are alot more options available. We chose a color called Walnut which actually has a wood grain-look to it. Dave was super-accommodating, he visited us a second time to work through some details. Once we made our final decision to proceed and placed a 10% deposit, the rest of the process went quickly and smoothly. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was less than 2 weeks from deposit to completion. After making the deposit we received a visit from Core (Core-ray) Jurado. I would equate him to a foreman...he came out to take photos and final measurements, and also to schedule our installation. Another very friendly guy who made us feel very good about our decision to go with Vinyl Concepts. The workmen arrived on time and took down the old fence quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately it began to rain so they couldn't finish the same day. But before leaving they made sure the area was cleaned up so it didn't look like a ransacked construction site! Why would you have a open showroom if you can not even give quote to someone who walks in with pictures and measurements?? I walked in yesterday just to be told that they can not give any quote until one of their guys goes to the site for a quote! And they they tell you that there is no availability for at least 1 month! So, I told her why would I wait over a month for a guy to come in and tell me " yeah the distance between these 2 walls is 11 feet"!! I needed to replace a rotted out wooden fence and gates with vinyl. I had to purchase a certain color per hoa. Two other vendors said that the color had been backordered and would take months to get. We used Vinyl Concepts to install 3 new gates. After the first big wind in Oxnard, the caps blew off. The gates were probably 5 months old. After 3 phone calls to Vinyl Concepts, we finally received a return call. An appointment was set up for their representative to come over and check out the situation. An appointment with a window of time was set. At the end of the window, we called and they cancelled the appointment. An inconvenience to us. Another appointment with a window of time was set. At the end of the window, the representative was not here, another inconvenience for us. We called the company and stated how their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Twenty minutes later someone from Vinyl Concepts showed up. He stated "the posts were not properly installed and they installed the WRONG caps. He realigned the posts properly. He advised us they would order the correct caps and call us the next day to advise us of when they would be installed. NO Calls, after 3-4 more calls to Vinyl Concepts we are still waiting for a call and a correction. We have another property and a fence between 2 houses needs to be replaced. Started off really well with Chris the sales rep, until my appointment date of May 22nd approached and the day before I received a phone call from the install team asking me if I could reschedule, and my response was absolutely not as I waited 6 weeks and had the scheduled day off of work to accommodate. I was asked if I could be called back and when I received the call I was advised things were moved around to keep my appointment. (Not a good experience 1 day prior to my install) The install team showed up and Carlos and George were excellent. We spent a solid 30 minutes going through the entire project to ensure the install was to my satisfaction before they started. The install team was very clean while they worked and respected their working surroundings. Where things fell short was literally at the end of job where they needed to cut the fence caps to fit (see my pictures attached). The caps were cut horrible which I did point out and I was promised they would return some time during the week to provide me new caps (which I have yet to receive). It seemed they were in a hurry to leave before I was able to throughly inspect things. Later I found some stains also left behind. I'm very curious to see how serious the owners are about customer service and resolving my issue as they claim in all of the other yelp review. read more

This is an update on the Apollo Roof Opening System that was installed by Vinyl Concepts last year. The system failed repeatedly when it rained. It was like one of those misters at Universal Studios, etc. We understand that the issues were with the manufacturer when it came to the system itself. But here is where our rating for Vinyl Concepts dropped: We called them to tell them the system failed. They came out to adjust the louvers first, but that took a couple of weeks. They did not do a water test but waited for it to rain. Once it rained it was a failure again. Water all over our furniture and patio - a real mess as any dirt that ran off the roof poured through onto the patio. One comment by one of the installers was that it was not fully rain protected. Excuse us!?? - the brochure and warranty information say 100% rain protection and if you look up this system on-line it states the same (at least it did when we bought it). If it did not, then we would not have had it installed. Vinyl concepts rep Oscar said they would be in touch with the manufacturer to see about a fix. Every time they gave us a date to come back out to fix it that date would pass and we would have to call them. They finally came back out with a fix from the manufacturer which was to install a filament type of material between the louvers. This helped between the louvers but now the water ran backwards on the bottom of the louvers and dripped/poured directly onto the patio again making a mess of the furniture, etc. It was extremely frustrating to say the least. We waited two months before contacting them again with a subject line: "Still Standing By", and asked for the contact person and number of the manufacturer. It took quite a bit of time and many e-mails and calls from us before it was determined to apply the filament to the ends of the louvers as well. They installed it on 4 of the louvers and performed a water test and this seemed to work. They came out and installed (installation team was very nice and efficient) W the filament on all the ends of the louvers. Now we just pray that this works! They did not do a water test after this full fix. The system is pretty cool though, with the fact that it opens and you can get sunlight on the patio when you want. Our frustration is with having to constantly contact Vinyl Concepts and not get any updates till we did. We both felt that if we hadn't contacted them repeatedly they would have just let it go without fixing it. To us this is not good customer service. This all took over a year and it never should have taken this long. We will update once it rains again and report if the fix worked. Update on 11/22/15 - We continued to have issues - this time with two of the louvers and then the attachment posts broke - they came to fix them while we were out of town and when we returned home all seems to be good. We had a day of some light rain and when we returned home we did not see any sign of rain on the patio ground or the furniture. There is rain coming in the near future and we are praying that all will be good. We see the comments by Rick and don't know how to respond to him except through here. We appreciate the fact that you will not abandon us - and yes we are hoping all is fixed and we know your team is tired of this just as much as we are. We will let you know when the next heavy rain comes as to how the system performs. Update on 01/06/16 - We are updating our review based on Vinyl Concepts taking care of our Apollo System. They have been very responsive and fixed all the issues. It was quite a task for these guys! They took the whole system apart and added fixes that the manufacturer recommended. With this last rain Mario came to the house within one day after calling Oscar and checked out our system and recommended when closing the bay's to do it individually rather than closing them all at once. This worked and no more leaks. Whew! read more

When I requested to speak with the owner I was told that is not how they do business every thing goes through the person that provides the estimate. We hired Vinyl Concepts to do a trash enclosure with gate. The installation went well and the fence and gate looked great. However, we began experiencing problems with the gate repeatedly coming out of alignment and not closing. While the guarantee says "Lifetime" don't believe it. Each time I called for service I had to go through prolonged waits and a definite reluctance to come and fix the problem. I've had to call four times in less than two years. I have yet to receive a call back from my 4th call (it's been over a week). If you're not interested in their warranty the product looks good. We hired Vinyl Concepts because their sales person, Edgar Papayan who was very personable, assured us that they would build the patio cover we desired. We chose a design that was enclosed on two sides with lattice and a third side with railings on either side of an arched opening. Additionally, we wanted clear, corrugated polycarbonate panels (that we provided) attached to the open railed roof. We had to wait four months for the project to begin and the contract indicated the project would take two days. When the day arrived, no one called us to let us know what time the workers would be arriving. I had to call them to find out. On the third day of installation, we were told that the job was completed even though they had not constructed the third side of the project. When I asked about it, I was told that a third side was not listed on the job spec. I showed the crew boss my contract that clearly stated that I had paid extra for that third side. He said he would call the office, and after a few minutes informed me that he would come the next day (Friday) and complete the third wall (in fact, they had not even completed the second wall!). The next day, no one called me or showed up. I called the office around 10:00 a.m. and was told that the crew does not make the schedule and should not have told me they would show up that day. The woman on the phone told me she would have someone call me within a few days the following week. I insisted on speaking to Edgar who first told me that the workers would show on the following Monday, but when I persisted (noting that the contract said two days for completion and it was now taking five!), he assured me they would be there that day (Friday) between noon and 2:00 p.m. They showed up at 1:30 p.m. and completed the entire installation by 4:30 p.m. While I cannot complain about the quality of the work, the way they communicate with customers certainly needs improvement! It was a frustrating experience because (1) I had to wait so long for their service, (2) no one from their office EVER initiated contact with me (even Edgar did not return my first call of concern claiming that he didn't think it was necessary because he knew I would be happy with the project eventually!), (3) the right hand apparently did not know what the left hand was doing, (4) there was no attempt to make amends for their delays or mistakes, (5) Edgar misstated that I had been given a discount when in fact I had not (none was listed on the contract!), (6) we NEVER saw Edgar again after the contract was signed. They do nice work but if you hire them, be very patient, watch closely the progress of your project, be sure to read the contract, and require that the sales person--Edgar or whomever--makes at least one appearance during the installation to make sure things are going as the contract he writes up indicates. I, however, will not use them again! read more

They were slightly more expensive than other companies, however, they offered a Lifetime Guarantee, and I liked a particular color they had better. After two years, our gates started peeling/cracking and I contacted them to use the "Lifetime Guarantee". No problem at all. I wanted to replace my parent's old wood patio cover because of termites and dry rot. I called four patio cover companies and they had various prices and nice pictures and various reviews on Yelp, good and bad. I noticed vinyl concepts had a very nice product, but they were the most expensive by quite a bit. I wanted to go with them so I double checked the salesman's measurements. He measured wrong so I called him back to re-do his quote and told him he was the most expensive. He re-quoted, but they came near the middle of the pack. I went with them because of the Yelp reviews (there's always some bad ones). I had them tear it down and repaired the facial boards, had a gutter company install new gutters, then I had vinyl concepts come back out. They always called me up to communicate when they're coming out, etc, etc. They had an excellent clean up after their demo and installation....I would say a 95% clean up... which is pretty good over-all. The dispatcher/project manager came out before the demo and re measured what the salesman did, just to make sure. I would recommend this company to everyone. read more
