We had family in town for Labor Day weekend and decided to try The Vinyl Room. I made a reservation a few weeks in advance to make sure we'd be set. The night we went happened to be a full night of concerts, and like usual in Vegas, the roads and self-parking were a mess, lots of delays. I tried calling ahead to let them know we'd be late for our 6:30pm reservation but couldn't get through to anyone. By the time we found parking and made it through the casino floor, it was around 7:15. We figured our reservation would be marked a no-show since we couldn't reach anyone, but the hostess at the front desk (before the elevator) was really friendly and understanding about the traffic and headliner concerts causing delays. She called up to the hostess inside The Vinyl Room and got us cleared to head up to the 63rd floor, a great start. Once we got upstairs, though, the hostess up there immediately questioned us about being 45 minutes late. We explained the traffic situation and that the hostess downstairs had confirmed we were good to go, but she kept bringing up our "tardiness," even after other reservations arrived and she asked us to step aside while she checked them in. We stayed patient. While we waited, I got to appreciate the decor, the vinyl displays and artwork were really well done, and noticed the place wasn't even that busy, with plenty of open seating. After about 10 minutes she came back and asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating. We said outside for the views, honestly just relieved to be getting seated at that point. She left again, telling us to wait by the wall, and brought up our lateness once more. At this point it felt less like an explanation and more like she was trying to make a point. She then came back and said she could seat us but that our group of 4 would be split into two pairs. When we actually got seated, that wasn't even the case, we were together in the lounge area the whole time, seating available all around us. It really seemed like she was just making things harder than they needed to be. Our server, on the other hand, was excellent, friendly with great recommendations. We ordered the wagyu burger, chicken wings, cauliflower steak, and a few drinks. The drinks were great; the wings, not so much. The music, ambiance, and view are clearly what's going to make The Vinyl Room a staple. I'm honestly not sure I'll be back after how the hostess handled things. If it weren't for family being in town, we probably would have left after her second passive-aggressive comment. I'm a local and I always want to support new spots, but this made it tough. I'd try again under different circumstances since I know they did work to accommodate us, but that hostess nearly ruined the night. **3/5**, great food (mostly) and vibe, but customer service needs work. read more

Visited the newly remodeled Vinyl Room, previously known as The Foundation Room, and I really enjoyed the experience! The new layout is much more spacious, with two different rooms--one playing old-school music and the other playing more modern music. The atmosphere was great, and the staff was friendly and attentive. They were always checking in to see if we needed drinks or anything else. From checking in at the booth, going through security, and enjoying the rest of the night, everything went smoothly. The atmosphere, music, the Strip overlook and overall vibe of the place were all great. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the unisex bathroom. Some men don't put the toilet seat down, and unfortunately, they still don't provide toilet seat covers. I definitely think adding seat covers would make the restroom experience much better. Overall, we had a really good time and enjoyed the newly remodeled Vinyl Room! The bartender Patrick was awesome! Thank you for the fun night. read more

3ppl who made this first visit amazing. Arlo greeted us the moment we reach the host desk on the first floor. She helped us get all the way up to the vinyl room and then gave us a tour of the whole venue. It's such an amazing transformation from the previous foundation room. She was thorough. She gave us membership contacts and took our information. She gave us option if we wanted to do a full sit down for a meal or just be at the bar. Love her energy just love her customer service. We arrived on Monday evening, and just wanted to check it out. We were given two vouchers for shots if you buy a drink. We opted for the seats at the bar. We met the bartenders Art (Arturo) and G. Talk about amazing service. They definitely like working at the vinyl room and know how the food taste. What are good drinks and provided these lemon drop shots that we were able to use with our vouchers. After a bit of speaking with them, we fell as if we were regulars. The upscale Vinyl Room on the 63rd floor recently opened on August 8th at the Mandalay Bay Rooftop with spectacular views of Vegas. It is a private membership, listening and dining lounge inspired by Japan's hi-fi style 1970 music lounges. It is similar to Soho House, where you are rich enough to afford the membership of $2000-2500 on up per month to meet for business deals and further your friend circle. We used the non-member upgrade of the cover charge of $50 for a single night experience since we are visiting Vegas and are not residents. The place is beautiful with comfortable seating for dining and listening pleasure. There are 5,000 vinyl records on display on the walls along with many pictures of famous singers and musicians and those who regularly perform in Vegas. Our server was Eneal, who was friendly, attentive and helpful with explaining the menu. We shared a light Asian inspired dinner of the Miso cured Pacific Cod with bok choy, roasted onion, and black truffle dashi, Strawberry Moon tequila cocktail, and for dessert, Taiyaki, which was croissant dough pastries stuffed with cookie butter. All were delicious and service was great. We had a wonderful time enjoying the music, the food, and the view and the friendly staff. read more

Vegas has an incredible new lounge. I spent an evening here last week, and the experience was exceptional. The vinyl concept is fully realized that complemented by sleek, thoughtful decor with music artists poster throughout the venue. I wish there was an on-site record shop would take it over the top. The food and craft cocktails were fantastic; while on the pricier side, that comes with the territory on the Strip. Don't skip the Japanese Old Fashioned, so good. Make sure to step out onto the balcony, too; the Strip views are stunning. Lots of selfie opportunities. read more

Awesome establishment if you're a fan of records! This place looks completely different from what it used to be--it has been totally transformed. We came during the second week after opening, and they open at 3 PM, which is nice for an afternoon or evening visit. They offer a free shot with a drink order, along with some Asian fusion food options. Service was great, and the ambiance was bright, open, and modern, with records surrounding each area. Just opened last Saturday! The atmosphere is great, fantastic views from the 63rd floor, cool decor featuring vinyl records and autographs, good music, and a nice layout with at least three separate indoor spaces plus a long outdoor balcony. The staff was very attentive and checked on us multiple times. However, the drink pricing felt a bit steep. Cocktails run around $24-$26 each and many drinks cost essentially the price of a whole bottle at a liquor store. To draw people in, staff were promoting a "BOGO" deal, but the coupon actually offered "buy one drink, get a free vodka shot." The shot included was New Amsterdam vodka (which normally costs $16 here, even though a whole bottle retails for about $15). I wish the staff didn't mislead the customers. Overall, it's a cool space, but the drink pricing and promo mis-information didn't leave the best impression. read more

We decided to try the vinyl room because we heard a lot about it. It's located in Mandalay Bay and was formerly the Foundation room. It truly transformed. We didn't have a reservation and were able to be seated without much wait. The host and staff were friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are split into on section for dining and other is the lounge room however you can dine in both rooms. Both areas consist of an outdoor patio with amazing views of the strip. If you come around sunset, the views are more amazing from the 63rd floor. The theme and decor of the establishment is right on par to a vinyl and record store. The food menu wasn't the most robust and mix of American and Asian fusion. Because we ate prior to arriving , we kept it simple and ordered chili crunch chicken wings and pork belly bao as appetizer and the wagyu beef and truffle burger as entree. The wings were probably the best dish. They were fried crispy, but not too crispy and the chili flavor was there, but it wasn't too strong or too saucy. The pork belly bao was decent but compared to other restaurants was nothing special. Lastly, the burger was filling but wasn't very flavorful. I wish it either had more seasoning or some type of sauce. I lacked the taste of the truffle flavor. Overall, a good burger, but nothing crazy. Overall the food here isn't anything special or new. You've probably had it elsewhere and probably better flavor elsewhere. Will I return for the food? Probably not. However will I return the vibes, night time and views..probably yes. Overall I like the concept of the transformation of what is now the vinyl room and I do appreciate the transformation especially knowing how the foundation room used to be. The view of the strip at night was amazing, great/unique decor and a great set up for gatherings, photos and a fun spot to chill out. Extra shout out to the DJ who was spinning the retro throwbacks. When it comes to organization and customer service, things at the bar seemed off. There were several bartenders all who seemed overwhelmed and were unable to answer questions about the specialty drinks or promos (given "free shots" at the door and then were told that could only be used when you bought a specific drink?). First and foremost, it was super easy to find The Vinyl Room with the signage around the Casino. That's impressive considering this bar opened this week. Upon checking in, you are told to go around the corner to an elevator. Upon entering the elevator, there's a button that is specifically for the Vinyl Room. It takes you to the 63rd floor which you can dine on one side or enjoy a DJ playing music with more of a lounge vibe on the other side. The decor was absolutely everything you could expect and more. The vinyls were displayed in so many different ways. My album cover, disc cover, or in a collage style on the wall! Both sides have a door to enjoy the patio which has an amazing view of the Las Vegas strip. Tonight I decided I'd try the drink at Vinyl Room. We got the super fly and life on Mars. They were both very light, refreshing and poured with a hand that I always appreciate! David educated us about the origin of the Vinyl Room and what it was before! We wished to have continued the dining experience with him since he was so friendly, attentive, and informative, however our mission tonight was just drinks. We look forward to coming back to dine and to enjoy the night club next door. Upon inquiry, we informed our server of a shellfish allergy. The server then advised on portion sizes, suggesting they were suitable for sharing. We also presented drink tickets, obtained from the casino floor, entitling us to a complimentary shot with the purchase of any full-sized cocktail. We placed our drink orders, intending to enjoy the view with our beverages. After our drinks arrived, we had to request assistance to locate our server to place our food order, aiming to have the food prepared while we appreciated the view as a group. Our food order included truffle fries, popcorn chicken, a chicken wrap, a cucumber salad, and an additional item. Regrettably, our server failed to inform us about potential cross-contamination with shellfish. This oversight necessitated ordering additional food to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Our table was also inadvertently provided with two extra noodle dishes, which we promptly returned to avoid being overcharged, especially as we had already ordered another round of drinks and needed to ensure our French fries and fried chicken were not cross-contaminated with shellfish. This situation was quite unsatisfactory. It is consistently emphasized during the reservation process, both by phone and online, to disclose any allergies. Our server also made this inquiry at the beginning of our service. This establishment recently opened approximately one week ago. My husband and I was a frequent patron when it operated as the Foundation Room. I had not previously brought my family here and was looking forward to celebrating my birthday at this rooftop venue at Mandalay Bay. I was quite embarrassed by the subpar service and subsequent errors. As a server myself in Las Vegas, I am disheartened that industry colleagues could exhibit such a lack of understanding regarding allergy accommodations. My husband attempted to order a cake dessert for my birthday celebration, but we were informed they had been out of stock for a week. Given that the establishment had only recently opened, and it was the second Saturday night of its opening month, this seemed implausible. Consequently, I received a hug from the waitress instead. Upon finishing our meal, we re-presented the drink coupons. Initially, the manager declined the coupon, mistakenly believing it was for a "free ride up the elevator." We then pointed out the fine print, which stated, "with a full-size drink to receive Vinyl Room special shot." Approximately ten minutes later, our waitress returned with the shots. Our total bill exceeded $600. While we had the option to stay for the nightclub, which commenced at 10 PM, we chose to conclude our evening due to our disappointment with both the management and our waitress. The decor is distinctive, and the presence of bin racks in the hallways, allowing guests to browse vinyl albums, is a unique touch. As a music enthusiast and with my husband being a music producer, we initially believed this would be an ideal venue. I would recommend this establishment for drinks only. If you have allergies, it is imperative to reiterate them repeatedly, as the staff's attention to such details cannot be consistently relied upon. I would consider revisiting the establishment in a few months, allowing the staff to further enhance their knowledge of the menu offerings. read more

I absolutely hate being the first person to leave a poor review for a new restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience tonight was extremely disappointing. My daughter is celebrating her 21st birthday, and we were genuinely looking forward to celebrating with you. We had a 10:30 PM reservation and arrived around 10:25 PM. When we arrived, there was a couple ahead of us, followed by a group of people who did not appear to have reservations. They were speaking with a gentleman at the front about having a sister who worked at the restaurant, seemingly expecting that connection to help them get in. The gentleman then asked the group if everyone was over 21 before going behind the host stand to what appeared to be the check-in computer. At approximately 10:38 PM, I politely said, "Excuse me, I have a 10:30 reservation." His response was essentially, "As soon as we help these people, we'll help you shortly." I said, "Okay," and continued waiting. What was frustrating was that he was standing directly behind the check-in area and did not appear to be actively assisting anyone. We had already been waiting, yet no one acknowledged the delay or made any effort to check us in or communicate with us. After another five minutes or so, with nothing seeming to happen, we ultimately walked away. Ironically, we then encountered a woman around the back of the venue who was promoting the restaurant. I asked if she was a manager, and she explained that she was a promoter. I told her what had happened, and she initially seemed apologetic. Before leaving, I asked if she knew the name of the gentleman working at the front because I wanted to accurately identify him when addressing my complaint. She told me she was new and didn't know the names. After returning to my hotel room, I called the restaurant hoping to speak with someone about the situation. After being placed on hold twice, I was eventually able to speak with a manager named Rebecca. To her credit, Rebecca apologized for the situation and expressed that she wanted to meet with me personally. I appreciated her taking the time to speak with me and acknowledging that what happened was not acceptable. However, the resolution offered was a $50 credit. I explained that, considering this was my daughter's 21st birthday, a $50 credit for a group of three people hardly addressed the experience. More importantly, I wasn't looking for a discount or free food. I also explained that I have VIP status with the casino and already had hundreds of dollars in resort credit available, so another $50 in credit wasn't something that would make me feel the situation had been meaningfully resolved. My concern was never about getting something for free. It was about how we were treated. I did tell Rebecca that I would still like to meet with her. I genuinely welcome the opportunity to discuss what happened--not to argue, but because I hope something positive can come from this experience and that another guest celebrating a birthday or simply trying to enjoy an evening doesn't experience the same treatment. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was my daughter's 21st birthday. We weren't walking in without a reservation expecting special treatment. We had a confirmed reservation, arrived early, and simply expected to be acknowledged and checked in. I completely understand that restaurants can get busy, especially late at night. I also understand that there may be policies regarding reservations, age requirements, and walk-ins. What I don't understand is why a customer with a confirmed reservation can stand at the front for nearly 15 minutes without being properly acknowledged or checked in while staff appear to be dealing with people who didn't even have reservations. The issue wasn't simply the wait. It was the lack of customer service, communication, and professionalism. A simple, "We'll be with you in just a moment," followed by actually checking us in when possible, would have made a huge difference. I truly wanted to have a great experience and support a new restaurant, which is why I hate having to write this review. But businesses need honest feedback in order to improve. I sincerely hope management takes this situation seriously and provides additional training to the front-of-house team regarding reservations, customer acknowledgment, communication, and basic hospitality. And to Rebecca, I appreciate you taking my call and apologizing. I still look forward to meeting with you because I believe this situation is an opportunity to make things better--not just for me, but for the next guest who walks through those doors. Disappointing to be writing this. I'm a local and was a huge fan of foundation room so seeing the re vamp had me excited to go check it out. Was there the opening night drinks and service was amazing. Hyped it up to my friends and decided to go last night. We had a table and the service was poor. It took 20 mins to get 2 neat tequilas. I had to order 3 drinks at a time in order to not wait. We were waiting at least 20-30 per drink. I would understand if it was a busy night but the floor and outdoor patio were pretty empty. I would love to go back but with the quality in service and payment to go you are better going off to Nocturno or a downtown bar. read more
