Our experience here was disappointing overall, but I'll start with the positives. It was nice to be able to check in advance, and we only had a 10-minute wait--especially impressive for a Sunday morning. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience didn't match that good first impression. The food felt like it came straight off the grill--unseasoned and unsauced. Our waitress seemed irritated when I asked for a separate plate for my eggs and French toast. After that, she barely checked on us and didn't return until we were almost finished eating. By that time, my daughter had only a couple of bites left of her burger and finally asked for the sauce that was supposed to come with it. The waitress went to get it, only to return and inform us they were out. Why wasn't a substitution offered--ketchup, anything? Or at least a discount for serving a dry burger? I ordered the French toast, eggs, hash browns, and turkey sausage. The turkey sausage was completely bland, with no flavor whatsoever. The eggs were fine, but the French toast was soggy and unappetizing. Overall, this place is a no-go for us. While the check-in process and short wait time were nice, we spent $110 on breakfast, received subpar service, and ate food that left us unimpressed. There is plenty of parking, and they have indoor and outdoor seating! The portions of the food is huge so for sure either share an entree or plan on taking some leftovers home! We were there on Saturday morning, and the kitchen was a bit behind, so we had to wait a little even though they had tables available. My friend had banana nut pancakes and when I tried some, I definitely could taste baking soda. My eggs Benedict were a bit underdone (runny whites) and the English muffin was a bit soggy, so yeah, a little disappointing. But the atmosphere was nice and service friendly. read more

They don't clear away dishes while anyone is still eating though they do ask if anyone needs anything else, which is nice. It's not pleasant feeling rushed. Food (3/5)--we ordered the grownup grilled cheese, eggs Benedict, avocado toast with 2eggs added, and the huevos rancheros. Decent portions, every time of potato side dish was well seasoned and crisped perfectly (breakfast potatoes, hashed browns, garlic fries). Second visit for breakfast. The previous time it was called "Squeeze In". Not sure why the babe name change but the decor and menu seemed pretty similar, as did the food. I had: "Bomb Breakfast Burrito". Very fresh and tasty. Not too greasy. Sorry I keep forgetting to take photos for my reviews! Potatoes that came with it were delicious too as the last visit I felt they were over cooked. If I had one critique it would be the thimble of salsa they give you for a pretty big burrito. It was hardly enough for two bites, and I couldn't grab the server to get more before I wolfed the burrito down. My date, my beautiful daughter, (actuality took a photo this time) had the happy face pancake, and boy did give her a happy face. I tried it and the pancakes are great. The hostess was awesome too. Tried to eat here a few times but it's always a 2 hour wait so I never stayed but this time it was only a 45 mins wait so finally got a chance to try it out.. I suggest that you join the waiting list before heading over there to cut the wait time... we was seated and I ordered a pink flamingo mimosas while I waited to to order my food I got the Spanish frittata wit a Side of pancakes and turkey sausage links and I must say everything thing was good.. The service is here is wonderful this is one of my favorite breakfast spot's in the chino hills area and the owners are very friendly and nice can't wait till they open up the new location that's closer to my house but till then this is the place to be!!!!! read more

Well, apparently they changed their name to Violet Rooster between the time that I bookmarked it and when I actually came here. Came here on a Monday afternoon, so there was no line whatsoever. Since I'm a sucker for eggs, I ordered myself a Cali-Shrimptastic omelette but also kept it healthy by requesting a side salad rather than my preferred crispy hash browns. Food was solid for sure. Plenty of eggs and shrimp in every bite. No complaints from me. Service was a bit slow for the amount of people that were actually in here. But everyone was friendly and welcoming. I don't know if I'll ever find myself in Chino Hills out of boredom. But good to know that Violet Rooster is a solid brunch spot. read more

I had high hopes for this place after a couple friends recommended it. I ordered online and got the Loaded Avocado Toast at $14.99 and wanted fruit for my side so that was an additional $1.79. My husband got the Fiesta Chicken Salad at $15.59. We didn't order any beverages. The total with tax and gratuity came out to ~$40.00. When we arrived our food was ready. We had our dogs with us so we went to a nearby park to eat. My husband said the chips in his salad were stale so he took them out and didn't eat them. Other than that he enjoyed his salad including the dressing it came with. My avocado toast on the other hand was pretty sad looking. The menu mentioned that the toast comes with smashed avocado but it was more of a spread that was barely there. The bread itself didn't have that sourdough taste. My husband felt bad for me so he gave me his avocado from his salad. The fruit that I paid extra for wasn't that great. There was some bruising in the fruit and it also tasted old. I also have a bitter aftertaste in my mouth after eating my meal. Overall, very disappointed. I should have gone with pancakes or something but I don't think we will be back. read more

I came here on a Wednesday morning. The ambiance and food was great. The music they had going was giving banger after banger. I could've hung out here all day. I got the French toast and hot chocolate. Both were savory and amazing. The reason for the 3 stars was the service. It was not a busy time, there were three young men working. I had to flag down someone and ask for a drink to be served, for when I was ready to order, and for when I wanted the check. And during my meal, I was never asked if everything was okay or needed anything. It is a small place, but I felt blatantly ignored. I also was not greeted in any way. Im attributing the lack of professionalism and customer service to maybe their age......? Or maybe this is how this restaurant works? I'm not sure. I suppose you could request it as an add-on. But the flavor just wasn't there. Just downright disappointing for a region where you can find amazing Mexican food easier than a Starbucks. Pastrami. Super thick sandwich, but the meat was underwhelming. No smoky flavor, not salty, not rich in flavor at all. Even the obligatory pickle wedge lacked finess. No snap. The garlic fries, while piled high, were easy to forget. This is not my kind of food. The coffee was not bad. Not great either. It tasted thin. I prefer a rich, dark roast that can put hair on your chest. On a positive note, they have cute decor. There is a pleasant, dog friendly patio, and servings are generous; I noticed that most of the couples surrounding us shared one meal. And the server was good, very attentive. The atmosphere was upbeat with good music that wasn't so loud as to be unable to converse. They make their own in-house red salsa that was full of flavor! After all the anticipation, they were tough. Even with lots of syrup. How does one make tough French Toast anyhow? This was my sisters order. I ordered the Bomb Breakfast Burrito w/ pulled pork & have to say it was pretty darn good, hence the 3 stars. Gotta give credit where it's due. The potatoes on the other hand were mostly overcooked and over salted. For me to hardly eat any says something as I love breakfast potatoes.
