They understand the importance for those who must eat GF and he has never gotten sick. I always go there for coffee. It's the best coffee in town! I am a coffee conisuer so it's extremely important to me that the coffee be on point! Not to mention the service is exceptional well! The cocktail I got wasnt even properly mixed. There was also a hair in one of our parties plates. It took forever for them to bring us more napkins and our drinks. Not even from LA.. just visiting worst experience ever! i came in with my boyfriend.. we came in at 1:40 and was told there's going to be 15-20 min wait. she asked if we wanted to be on the waitlist. we said ok. when we got to our table all the way in the back. We got our menus and drinks quick. But when it came to ordering our food we have waited for over 10 mins with closed menus heads up trying to make eye contact with someone to help. We asked the busser for help and was so rude when we asked.. we felt bad for even asking. it just like wow.. since we waited so long we ended up asking to get it to go.. paid got our food. but once we got to the car.. we tried to eat our food. but could've even eat it because it was so over cooked :// not going to recommend this place to anyone i personally know. because i was so excited to eat here.. came in with a smile.. left disappointed and hopefully our money back. manager did not print out our refund receipt.. but she said she voided it. we will see read more

Big shoutout to Conner! My wife and I came into the restaurant and were seated in an ordinary table. About 2 minutes later, a party of 4 was seated very close to us. The patrons were pretty hammered and very loud. It was so loud that when Conner was taking our order, he could barely hear us. We thought the experience was going to be a disaster! My wife and I didn't want to take away from the fun but we just couldn't sit next to the group. Conner to the rescue! He totally understood and reseated us to a much quieter spot. When our food came, I ended up getting the wrong dish. I didn't want to waste it but let Conner know about the mistake. He offered to have the team remake it which was appreciated, but wasn't necessary. As we were about to pay for the check, Conner came over and told us he had taken care of the entire meal! With food in my mouth, I waited a second and I said Card. He said he can take payment now. Um, I'm wasnt even finished. Trying to chew and dig through my purse for my card, he didnt seem to care. Never again come here. Not worth $63 for cold cheeseburger & fries plus lousy breakfast. And terrible customer service. Wait time 4: 45 mins on a wed morning (many local graduations today), unable to be added to the waiting list remotely, had to place ourselves on the list at the counter. Service 5: the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. This was refreshing. But, they're a bit unorganized, 3 different people came for our drink orders. Our food was brought out twice - lucky dishwasher was able to have some of our returned dishes, so we were told. Did have to ask for a coffee/mimosa refill. Ambience 5: this is the cutest spot I've seen in a long time. The art and decor is intriguing and engaging. We really enjoyed looking at everything while we waited on our food. 80s top 40 plays in the background and a very nice volume. Food 3.5: French toast and bacon were the winners! Overall, portions are great for the price. Biscuit was hard as a rock, even with gravy. Loaded Potatoes were unevenly cooked, some of the cheese and onion pieces were inedibly burned, the dish wasn't as flavorful as I'd thought. We had an omelette, a scramble, and scrambled eggs, they ranged from watery to nice n fluffy. Overall the flavors were very muted, aside from the French toast. Located in a small strip mall just off the 71 freeway, this café has all the usual breakfast dishes any usual eatery would have. The difference from most other café's is their own spin they put on each dish and the ambiance you are situated in. Upon walking through the door, you immediately notice the décor of photos/paintings on the walls that have various nostalgia of pop culture from various eras. Star Wars, superheroes, and whimsical sense of humor are strewn throughout the café. The messages are smart, humorous, and satirical depending on your taste of comedy. The ceilings are also strewn of a hodge podge of bicycles, chairs, and various knick-knacks that could easily be missed if you're not paying attention. Our choices of breakfast dishes were the Trevor's Over the Top Breakfast Tots and Feta Me Betta. The tots were a filling meal of fried potatoes topped with chorizo, nacho cheese, and 2 sunnyside up eggs. The satiety of flavor from the chorizo was overpowering; in retrospect, I wish I had the chorizo scrambled into the eggs to offset the saltiness. The Feta Me Betta is a healthier option of an egg-white scramble with turkey sausage, mushrooms, and spinach; just as filling and full of flavor. The Violet Rooster is a great breakfast café that has very good food with a combination of a pop culture museum. The servers are friendly but can be swamped for time given the busy clientele that venture in. Service always seems to be an issue for us at Violet Rooster. We asked for things but never receive them, so we ended up asking several times. We had to ask the waiter several times for simple and expected items, such as water and napkins. Additionally, service is slow and it was difficult to get a waiter or waitress to service our table. It is a small restaurant and they are simply not busy enough to justify this level of service. Disappointingly, I also have clear view of them goofing off and dancing in the kitchen every single time because we are usually seated right next to the kitchen for some reason. Another disappointing detail was that when I tried to use my coupon, the waiter instantly told me," You can't use it... you didn't spend enough." When I looked at my bill, we were literally cents away from being able to use the coupon, to which he could have easily suggest suggested ordering a tea or coffee or perhaps dessert. However, he never did this and seemed to have just wanted us out of his hair. I find this behavior to be somewhat rude and unappreciative of our patronage. Overall, the food and the ambience, in our opinion, is just average, making this a two-star review. read more

Violet Rooster is a great hidden gem for brunch in Chino Hills. I visited for the first time a couple weekends ago. We were able to add ourselves to the waitlist ahead of time as it was a 60 min wait on a Sunday morning. When we got there, we saw everyone crowded outside waiting to get seated and we were quickly brought to our table, as we were next on the list. The first thing you notice is how well-decorated this spot is. It's very vibrant and full of life inside the restaurant. We ordered 2 dishes - the Chorizo Benedict ($17.79) and the Chilaquiles ($16.79) along with a Bloody Mary ($9.99). Let me just say that these servings are monstrous. We ended up taking home more than half of each dish, which is fine but wow... HUGE portions. We enjoyed the Benedict a little bit more than the Chilaquiles. If you're hungry in the morning, this is a great place to try out! I'll definitely be back and will look to try their pancakes or omelettes next. We did get seated inside but we ended up asking to move to the outdoor patio due to the loudness of the music and that we were by the door and every time the door opened I felt cold air blow too much on us. They have heaters outside but it actually felt nice so we didn't need them. It's not bad inside, we just wanted a little more quiet. My daughter and I frequent this establishment and food is always good. I didn't want to air my disappointment with today's service but this can't wait! We were seated outside, which was fine but when the server doesn't check on you the duration of your visit and you have to get up and get someone to refill your drinks and get a box and our check there's a problem. When the server finally comes to our table, he asks, "how was the food?!?" I replied, " eh, it was ok!' While he grabbed our plates he made a comment that I was going to ignore but then when he left my daughter looked at me and said, "did he say what I think he said?'. We come here 3x a month because we love it. The food is "usually" plentiful and delicious and the group of young adults that work here are "usually" fun and energetic. That has changed over the last few visits which causes me to write this review replacing my prior. The place specializes in breakfasts with some lunch options. It's open, fresh and the colors are vibrant. You feel like you're in a Mexican style restaurant with the atmosphere. I come here with buddies, family and sometimes by myself since they have a great patio area. But things have been slipping, My last visit was with souse a couple of days ago. We were seated and a young man came by to take our drink orders. Wife had coffee while I ordered half lemonade and half iced tea. The drinks were delivered and away he went. At the time we visited, it was not busy at all. 3 tables inside and maybe 3 tables outside. I took a sip of my Arnold Palmer and it was pretty bad. It just tasted "off." I somehow kept sipping it but it wasn't getting any better. We waited about 10-15 mins with no server in site. My wife's coffee had run out and we wanted to order. I got up and approached the 2 young men who were chit chatting near the drink station. I asked if we could place our order. One of the men jokingly said, "You need to order through your server." I said, "Great, point me to them because we haven't seen any." He didn't say it condescending. The other man said, "I'll take your order." Wife ordered the chiliquilles (Best around) and I ordered a typical breakfast. I also said we needed a refill on coffee and I would like another Arnold Palmer. He left and returned with the coffee and asked me how my first drink tasted. I said disgusting, that's why I busted wanted iced tea. He said the lemonade dispenser was flat and knew it tasted bad. He fixed the lemonade and will get me a fresh one. The breakfasts came out really quick by the same man who took our order. I could hear them ask each other if anyone knew where our server was. No one knew. I ordered my eggs over hard and they came out barely cooked. I couldn't eat them. I looked for my toast I ordered without butter and had to get up again to advise the young man we needed a coffee refill and my toast. He refilled the coffee and a few minutes later he brought my toast dripping with butter. I didn't eat this morning needless to say. wife's chiliquilles was great. We never saw our server and never got another drink refill. I had to even get up to ask for my bill. If this was a restaurant I don't normally frequent or it was a big company, I would've easily left a ZERO tip. But I left %25. As we were getting ready to leave another table around the corner was also getting upset with a lack of service. Whereas I get up and just deal with it, this woman was verbally angry at the staff and complained about the lack of service. Hope this place gets better since I love it here. Why is there was a price difference between the menu price and my bill change. The server stated because the price of eggs and I question him again Why wasn't I told that in the first. Secondly, pointed out to him. I only had two eggs on my plate not 4 eggs in an omelette . All I did was ask a legitimate question I pointed out to him that the difference in price was not mentioned to us when ordering. I Immediately got attitude from him, which caused me to respond that I would just make up for it in my tip. He came back with attitude in a loud voice I don't need your freaking tip Mumbling something else afterwards. My friend and I just looked at each other, paid the bill and walked out .leaving no tip at this point. Upon walking out the gentleman who took our name when we came in . I questioned him and made him aware about the situation. After hearing me out, he wanted to try and correct it and our disappointment eating here. All the chairs and tables are painted differently and vibrantly and there are a ton of other decorations like a small hot air balloon! Service wasn't the best and we were literally sitting next to the area where the servers wait/walk around. They even would talk near or above us. But we still had to wave someone down so we could order and then to pay. Parking is plentiful. Be prepared for cow poop smell cause it is Chino. Prices are average but huge portions! The french toast was delicious and very sugary! Maple syrup was yummy! Hash browns were good but fell apart easily (at least it was crispy). It was a cute place but a tad too loud for me to have a good conversation with my friend (it's one of those places you have to yell at to hear each other over the music and other guests). First person that came by after a wait took our drinks, but when we asked to also order an app straight up told us no they couldn't take that order and they would get our server. So no idea who that first person was and it was a while again until our server showed. Also asked person who brought our food out for a drink refill, never got it and had to ask someone else. They do charge extra for fruit or chocolate chips with pancakes, thought they would be baked in. Surprised to find barely a scoop on top, this cost nearly $2 extra. By that time, my daughter had only a couple of bites left of her burger and finally asked for the sauce that was supposed to come with it. The waitress went to get it, only to return and inform us they were out. Why wasn't a substitution offered--ketchup, anything? Or at least a discount for serving a dry burger? I ordered the French toast, eggs, hash browns, and turkey sausage. The turkey sausage was completely bland, with no flavor whatsoever. The eggs were fine, but the French toast was soggy and unappetizing. Overall, this place is a no-go for us. While the check-in process and short wait time were nice, we spent $110 on breakfast, received subpar service, and ate food that left us unimpressed.
