I had a burnt front head lamp on my Nissan Frontier pick up truck. I walked in off the street earlier today and asked if they had time to schedule me for a head lamp replacement. The front desk service advisor by the name of Kyle immediately took charge of the situation. He offered to go out in the lot and he skillfully popped out the broken light bulb. He took me back inside the store where I purchased a replacement bulb. Kyle then installed the bulb right in the parking lot. There was no charge for his time & labor. I have been a VIP customer for years. Maybe more than 10. They make a lot of mistakes. Over the years, I have been willing to let it go because they are reasonably friendly and try to help. That unfortunately does not overcome the severe deficiency in making sure their work is good. VIP example mistakes: has failed to tighten wheel nuts, oil drain plugs. They have damaged my car using impact wrench where they should not (spare mount). The most recent VIP mistake: I brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotate prior to a road trip. One of the wheel lugs were not torqued fully. They were snug, not tight. This condition is well known to cause fatigue failure of wheel studs. Happened to me. See the pics. Think 80 mph, Florida Freeway, nighttime, Florida aggressive drivers. It could have been a bad wreck triggered by the wheel coming off at speed. When I called VIP, they seemed most concerned with denial of responsibility. I was pissed because their work nearly resulted in a incredibly dangerous situation. People die from high speed wrecks and VIP seemed more concerned with denying responsibility. After all these years, I am done with these people. The lack of concern that they induced a dangerous situation is not acceptable. If you use these people to do work on your car, do yourself a favor, go buy a torque wrench and double check their work. Their words saying they check their work are not matched by actual results. Bottom line. These folks are risky and you might get a nasty surprise. Maybe even crash and die. PS. The VIP customer service responds to these YELP reviews are totally hollow. Look at other reviews. My experience with VIP is not unique. If they really fixed their shortcomings, all the bad reviews will be old. read more

Had an inspection done and they failed rear spot lights as back up lights. Do not know the difference from a body panel to vehicle structure support. My best suggestion is take your vehicle to anyplace else. They tell you things are wrong to have you spend money on things that do not need repair. if I could give this place 0 stars, I would. AVOID IT at all costs. I took my car for break work, and they completely trashed it. We had to take it back 3 times and they ruined the breaks and then they ruined the engines. After they kept the car for a total of 3 weeks, we had to take the car to another mechanic, and he certified that the car was not in working order. We had to get a new car. We were told that a manager would contact us to refund the money, they never did nor they ever refund the money. Please, stay away from them. read more

I just wish it was a 0 stars option! I call this place and made an appointment to put new tires in my car. I took a day of from work put the set of tires on my other car ask a friend to help me drop off the car and when im parking the in the parking lot a employee see me park it, he let me drop off the tires one by one (big heavy tires) to and meet me inside to tell me that he wouldn't swap my tires because he thought he hear my tires rubbing when i park. The real reason he didn't do it is because they are white racist an i am a hispanic, there is no other reason. I hate this place and never coming back. Dishonest. My wife brought our vehicle in for an oil change and just asked for standard oil. They agreed and then decided to switch us to their "Premium Change" without even asking. They then try to say that our 14 year old beater of a car requires synthetic when that is the furthest thing for the truth. They were very unsympathetic to the mistake, only offering $10 off a $40 mistake. I had previously had decent luck at this location but cannot recommend them based on this experience. read more

This spring I was looking for tires for my wife's car. VIP gave me a price so I called back to get them installed and they said the tires are at another location and I had to pay $100 for shipping. So I went somewhere else. Last week I thought I would give them another chance so I left a message for someone to call me about getting some tires for my truck and still no one has called me back. I called back unsatisifed and the response was the part that needed to replaced "Was not their concern". I will never go back to them after spending $800. I was a longtime customer of this VIP (10+yrs). Recently I brought my truck in for inspection. I was told the lh front shock was leaking and the steering rack was leaking. They quoted $1930 for replacement. I declined. The counter guy grabbed the quote, ripped it up and trashed it. I went to my dealer, the steering rack was fine. It only had motor oil on it. Had the dealer replace the front shocks, passed inspection. You lost a long term loyal customer. I'll never trust you again Always, always get a second opinion on major repairs with this guy read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR AN INSPECTION or anything else for that matter! I took in my 2014 Vehicle (39,000 miles) for an inspection. They failed my vehicle for the front brakes (My car has Brembo brake pads-high quality & long lasting). The "salesman" behind the counter who was wheeling and dealing with everyone said to me "we can throw a cheap $100 pair on there." Why would I want to buy a "cheap" pair when my vehicle is setup for a top of the line pad? Anyways, I left and took my vehicle to have the front brakes replace. While the vehicle was on the lift at a RETUPABLE establishment, just for the sake of it, I replaced the back pads as well. Mechanic took it out, verified no issues (also advised the current ones were fine). This was on a Friday I took the vehicle back on Monday for re-inspection. I heard the tech and front "salesman" chatting about the vehicle and asking each other what I had done and that nothing was fixed. I told them I fixed what they had failed, the front brake pads. Their story changed.....They never said the front brake pads, it was the back rotors! And he was certain of this! I then asked him, if it was the back rotors, then why did his counterpart try to sell me on "cheap" $100 pads. He then said, I don't know, I wasn't there, but yet he was certain of this 10 seconds before that! I took the vehicle to another service station for a second opinion. He saw the previous failure note they left which was coded as Inadequate stopping power, a very vague statement. The system has codes that they enter to determine exactly what the issue is. My vehicle easily passed at the new service station. They didn't sell me anything that I did not need VIP is a money hungry establishment looking to take advantage of what they hope are less than knowledgeable customers and looking to make a quick buck. They may have treated their customers as a "VIP" at one point, but I believe their core values have since changed. The only reason this is a 1 star instead of 0 is because Paul, one of the service reps, showed empathy and compassion to the situation VIP caused. I brought my car into be serviced because it was making a humming noise, spent a lot of money for it to be fixed and two days later I was driving, under 100miles away when things were still not "right". While on the highway, the noise was getting worse and my steering wheel was violently shaking! I pull over and end up having to get my car towed to a sister location. All of this because the location NEVER secured the lug nuts on my car!! If I hadn't pulled over I could've been killed or someone else. Nothing but neglect, how is this even possible? Do you care about customers safety? After my vehicle was towed, I went to the original location and Chris started denying the negligence and only claimed he was at fault for never telling me to come back to follow up after 25 miles. At no point should lug nuts be finger loose. I have a video from when it was put on the tow. Absolutely astonished by the lack of professionalism, operational checks in place, or care put into their work. read more

I had previously (2014) used them to replace my alternator and they accomplished that to my satisfaction. Based on that experience when my car's air conditioner stopped working I brought it in for a coolant recharge. About 90 minutes into the process the service manager came to me and said that my car didn't hold the charge and that the dye used showed a leak in an aluminum pipe. This pipe is less than ten inches long. They said that they would have to order the part and it could be there in 24-48 hours. When I asked them how much was the part and the labor going to be they said $350 for the pipe and $300 for more refrigerant and labor total $650! I informed them that I am 70 and living on Social Security and that I could not afford such a big amount at that time. He said well when you get your next check and can afford it call and we will reschedule you. I went home in my HOT car thought about it and said I probably should get a second opinion from another facility. I then called a garage that I used for my inspection sticker. They could not find any trace of the leaked dye. So they went ahead and proceeded with the A/C recharge. The mechanic came into the waiting room and said . . . you are all set! I asked him what about the leaky pipe and he said there was NO leak. I paid for just the recharge and OVER a YEAR LATER it is still blowing ice cold air!! This was a clear case of a crooked facility creating an expensive and unesscessary repair for their unsuspecting customers. How many times have they done this and the clients just shrugs their shoulders and just pays them!? BEWARE! read more

I came in to purchase a headlight for my car. In the parking lot I tried to remove the old dead light but I could not get it our. The staff saw me struggling and came right out to lend a hand - and they were able to not only remove the old bulb but they installed the new build. Complete rip-off. Took my car there for new tires, they said one of my tire sensors was broken and need to be replaced. Fine, go ahead. Well now the TPM warning light has been on ever since (it wasn't before we went) and I've brought it back 3 times and called multiple times. They don't know what happened or what the issue is but its my problem now? Every time I call, they're " researching" the issue. 9 months later, you should be an expert by now. They also told me I have a blown engine mount and a seized brake caliper. No worries though, for just $1000 they can fix that. No thanks. Took it to my regular mechanic the next day and neither of those issues exist. They have tried to charge me thousands in bogus repairs but refuse to fix the problems they created. As a woman, I really resent being taken advantage of. I just had my oil changed and my tires rotated here- or so I thought. They didn't rotate the tires at all. The last time they changed my oil they left a giant screw driver near my engine. They also gave me a list of things that I needed to have done but they will never see another dime from me. However, today I went in for routine brakes and rotors replacement and the price (close to $1000) made me very uncomfortable. After "shopping around" for a different estimate I am going elsewhere for the service I need done and will be spending less than $400 for the same job. I truly feel a need to write this review to perhaps save other women from a frustrating experience. On Friday morning as I was heading out to drive to southern Massachusetts, I thought my brakes felt 'tight' as I was leaving the house. My "brake" light soon came on. I stopped at VIP to see if what I was feeling was perhaps just low brake fluid. At the desk, after giving these same conditions to the salesman he declares, "You have blown a brake line!" I said, "really?" I know he probably thinks most women probably would take him at his word. But I responded, "If that was the case, wouldn't my brake pedal go to the floor?" "I told you my brakes felt tight. Could it be brake fluid?" Mind you he has not even looked at my car. "In my 19 years of experience, I'm pretty sure it's a blown brake line. But I'll and see if it's fluid". Upon examination, low brake fluid was NOT the problem but I was very uncomfortable with his sight unseen diagnosis. I took my care elsewhere where they put it up on a lift, took the time to explain to me what was wrong. Low and behold, it was NOT a blown break line. It was frozen calipers! They answered all my questions and had me ready to go in an hour an a half. Always go with your gut. I may not have known what was wrong but I certainly knew better than to listen to someone tell me what was wrong without even looking at my car. read more

I dropped by to ask if they would match a Black Friday tire sale. Even though the website CLEARLY states that they will match or give you double the difference, they won't and didn't. I understand about competitive pricing, warehouses and the like but I think what bothered me most was the attitude concerning this. I think if they said, "I'm sorry but we can't match that but what about if I get you in to these tires?" I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the O'Reilly parts merger? I have been in that store a million times and have never had an issue until now. While I was in the store, the O'Reilly folks were very friendly and helpful, while the VIP service side was definitely not. A couple of calls around and I found a highly reputable place that matched the price, had the tires in stock and was bending over backwards to accommodate my schedule to get them changed out. They did it all - with a smile and sense of humor: Today was time well spent. I bought the $49 coupon book previously which included a state inspection. I asked whether an oil change was done when I bought tires, which it wasn't so now it is due, and then asked to have new license plates installed. Even though they were short staffed in the service bays, Tom ensured all the work was completed, including looking for a bandage for a paper cut I got from my purse. Both Tom and the other front desk employee maintained their positive attitudes. What has brought me back again and again is knowing I'm being treated right. If I could give you guys zero stars I would!!! And I warn others to stay far away from this londonderry location!!! I went in to purchase and have mounted and balanced two new snow tires and two older (new last year) snows. I was met with eye rolls and walking away while trying to get something done. After an hour of being in there I was called and told one of my tires had a "broken bead" on it well it didn't when I brought it in (but luckily I had a third tire because I got a flat last year so I had three) so we bring them my third tire and they show us the old tire and the bead is completely gauged out wtf after asking if they did it they denied and claimed they were "heavily monitored". So I pay my dues and go home. Everything seems ok on the ride home in the dark. But boy I have never been so wrong!! The next day I jump the highway and my car immediately starts shaking like an alcoholic after a long nap at 45mph and up. Oh hell no! I do my business and when I'm done I head to the derry location and explain everything. They are not surprised to say the least! So they get me in this morning after the first half of this snowstorm and on the way I notice my car is driving a little weird in the snow derry takes my car in immediately. Before I've even sat down they come out saying yup none of the tires were even balanced properly. but wait it gets better...or worse... so then I'm sitting there and a guy comes out and apologizes and says ok they screwed up pretty bad but we've got you covered, great, I think...that is until I overhear a guy at the counter telling one of the other guys about how one tire was even installed backwards. Yes BACKWARDS!! I step over and excuse myself and exclaim, please, tell me more. So snow tires are directional and must be installed properly or they don't work properly! And then they go on to say that not only did they not remove old tire weights, but they they counterbalanced the new weights they did put on now I'm no licensed mechanic but COME ON!!! Between gouging one of my tire beads and installing another backwards and the mess of weights that were on there you can't be serious! Like I said! Seems like the person who worked on the truck forgot to take their gloves off. Seems like they got as much oil on the outside and in the cab as went in the engine. Had a flat tire, had to buy 2 new front tires which was fine, they couldn't match the non damaged tire, instead of putting them on the front where they should have gone they put them on the back & moved my older rear tires to the front. WHY? I also requested that the good front tire be put on a new rim so that I could have a spare tire, I was fine with buying the rim. They threw the good tire out instead, shrugged their shoulders when I asked where was the spare tire I requested? Horrible service, don't waste your money. BOGUS!!!! Went here to plug my girlfriends tire because there was a screw in it. The KID takes the tire off and says they can't plug it because we used fix-a-flat. He said the only way the plug would adhere to the tire is if they vacuumed fix a flat out. However no shopvac in the garage. So I call someone to bring my shopvac from home and after my mother leaves the house with my vacuum they told me it wasn't an option. So they threw my donut on and i went to the counter, had to buy my own patch kit and plug the tire myself!!! Went home and plugged it and it worked first try. Then we realized we had to go back anyway because they forgot to put our hubcap back on the car!! Horrible customer service and bad advice. went back and told them I patched the tire myself and I'd like them to put it back on after they wasted my time and tried to finesse my girlfriend into buying an unnecessary $180 tire and was hit with a snotty attitude. Will never return to this facility again. I do heating and air conditioning that's like me telling a 21 year old girl to fix a leak in her central air system herself or I'll replace her whole system!
