After being disenchanted with the new owners of my long time cleaners, I thought I'd try VIPS Cleaners; after all, they're so close to where I live. Otherwise, their clothing rack looked sparse so I right off thought I'd made a mistake trying this place. The gentleman who tried to help me spoke no English which was disappointing. Luckily, another staff member was able to help him out and me in the process. I guess the statement, "3rd time is the charm" is true because it took my 3rd visit before finding a time they were open to pick up my clothes. One time, I believe the workers watched me drive up then drive away as they closed early. I wasn't sure as I'd only seen the workers once when I dropped off my garments and hadn't used this place before, but they kept looking at me as I drove up then drove away, likely with an upset look on my face. Otherwise, the quality of the cleaning wasn't remarkable. However, I'm on the search for another dry cleaners. Regardless how close this establishment are to where I live. Sorry VIPS Cleaners, you only get one chance try to keep my business. You didn't cut it in my book. read more

Really great service had a few stains on a stiched football jersey and they made it look brand new

I got taken to the cleaners. Staples in the sheers. Sloppy ironing on the drapes. Saggy linings. Only one panel had perfect pleats and its lining is not sagging. So I have to assume that if the pleats were properly pressed, the linings would not sag. No, I am not going to bring them back and wait another week for them. No, I don't want a refund. Next time I will replace them with washable blackout curtains. I just think vip should look for another drapery cleaner and customers should be aware before bringing vintage drapes there. read more

I rarely leave comments but I had to this time. I've been to V.I.P cleaners a few times and everything went smoothly so I decided to take FIVE pair of my ugg boots( YES 5!!!) to be cleaned in November so I could have them for my family trip in December. I gave them more than enough time to clean them I went back to the cleaners mid December and I kept getting the run around, one day I was told some of them were ready but we want to be able to give you all of them at one time which I thought was weird. TWO days before Christmas I went up there and was told ALL of my shoes had been thrown out with trash because they we're doing renovations. I was extremely nice to the owner, instead of him paying at once we set up a payment arrangement. He didn't keep his side of the deal an when I contacted him about it he had the nerve to get an attitude with me. You live and learn, and this was definitely a learning experience. read more

Warning! These guys have destroyed many of my dress shirts by burning buttons permanently onto the sleeves and have done nothing about it. I moved to Downey 1 year ago from Upland where I paid 1.75 a shirt to have pressed and cleaned...the average price out there is $2.00 a shirt but I had a place that hooked me up 25 cents off because I was loyal and brought many shirts every time. Out here, the average cost for same service is 2.75-3.00...rent is way more out here as well. I manage a jewelry store so I wear suits and ties every day and own around 80 or more dress shirts and more than half of them get cleaned every month and a half...no time to iron myself...so about 40 -50 shirts each time...more than average customer...my bills for cleaning were close to $130 to $150 each visit...that is not my complaint though...they had a deal for Tues for 2.25 that they upped to 2.40 which is still better than the 3.00 everywhere else out here. When I first started bringing my clothes here, did not notice any problem...but in last 3 months, I started noticing that about 8 out of my 40 shirts were coming back damamged by having burnt marks surruonding buttons from opposited side of the sleeve cuffs...of course, I brought them in when picking up and dropping off my next delviery and asked to speak to the supervisor and expressed my concern and request that it not happen again. The girl up front was nice and the tall guy took a look and told me not to worry...seen I was dropping off 40 more shirts, and declared it would not happen again. However, when I came to pick them up as, notice that around 12 more shirts had the same issue, and pointed it out to the same girl who was there when the supervisor said it would not happen again. I again asked for the supervisor, she was nice and said he wouldnt be able to help, but let me call the owner this time. She called and explained it thoroughly, he told her to tell me there is nothing he could do about the damaged shirts and that he could not stop it from happening again...I even pointed out that it was visible on the other shirts they had behind the counter...she explained to the owner, he said it was not them, but an outside laundy service they work with but they cant be liable either...and said only way to not have the buttons burnt onto the sleeves is pay 4.75 a short to have them dry cleaned instead of laundered....this is unheard of to me...I have been having my shirts cleaned and pressed for over 20 years and never had this issue...mind you, I have experience some cleaners who use to break my buttons when ironing, that use to kill me ...but I switched to a cleaner that did not. They taught me a valuable lesson...that I hope you can use as well...they simply do not care for the clothing of thier clients and will not take responsiblity for thier destruction. Please do not chance having your clothing destroyed and find a cleaner who cares about thier clients clothing. I am now paying 3.00 a shirt at a different local cleaner and I feel that my clothing and business is cared for. Vip cleaners, check your records, I believe I have spent over $1200 or more this past year and have been treated as if that doesnt matter. read more

I genuinely wish I could remove stars. If you like this place fine, I personally have had multiple bad experiences with Alex the owner. I once brought in a peacoat that someone threw up on (another fun story) and when I picked it up and it still had vomit. I was shocked cause it stunk but He just redid the dry-cleaning. So no big deal right? I should have taken that as a red flag and stayed away. I didn't learn my lesson. Forward to this May and I left a significant amount of things to be dry-cleaned. Including my favorite green sweater. It was expensive and in good condition when I brought it in, but after they got done with it, it straight up had holes! Huge gashes on the front of the sweater. The sweater was no longer a fine material it was weird and gashed and nappy! They still charged me for the sweater but the owner Alex vouched he would try and mend it and fix this mistake. I was being nice and said sure, he said to give him a week. Three to four weeks later, he's avoiding my calls, hasn't "fixed" my sweater and was still giving me a hard time about a refund. He finally gave me compensation but nowhere near enough for my month long saga of frustration and what my sweater is actually worth. It was like pulling teeth. I cannot believe how unprofessional he was. No one likes to get dicked around, its not cool. I'm sorry this is so long winded, but in short, Don't go here. He has no respect. read more

The first time I went here my husbands work shirts came out nice but his slacks came out with white marks all over I let that slide on account that the prices were good and the service was friendly, which is why we went back, the second time 2 out of the 4 shirts we took to get dry cleaned shrunk! I had just purchased these shirts for him so it was upsetting but even then we thought maybe it was just weight gain (that couldn't be the case on account that everything else fit exactly the same) now our clothes were returned for the third time and I will never again return! My husbands shirts came back with 2 buttons cracked in half and a stain, stains that weren't there before on another shirt, and my shorts that I took to be fixed were not done correctly. Came here for a emergency comforter clean. After my dog peed on the bed. They were so comforting and I left feeling like I was in good hands. As I got to know the owner better I observed his hard work and dedication.
