Simple food, good variety, and great prices, what more can you ask for from a casino cafe? Located inside the Virgin River Casino, this place is nothing fancy, so you get what you pay for. Meals include breakfast options (24 hours), burgers, sandwiches, steaks, fish, tacos, and a new, rather extensive, Asian menu. The service was semi-friendly and the salad (included) that came before my Carne Asada Tacos ($9.95) was fresh with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons, and blue cheese dressing. The plate came with three flour (I prefer the more traditional corn) tortillas full of mountains of well-seasoned chopped steak, onions, and cilantro. I asked for "all beans, no rice", but instead of the rice I got a huge pile of shredded lettuce, a total waste of space. There was also a small scoop of guacamole and sour cream on the side. The beans were nontraditional and very spicy, but decent. For a quick, cheap meal to fill the void in your tummy, this place fits the bill. You have to take the check up to the cashier upon departure to pay, but I was relatively happy with the entire experience for $13, including tax and tip. I actually like the food at the cafe but I always get the specials. The ham steak breakfast is hearty and filling. It comes with a big slice of hame, eggs, hash browns and toast. Great start to the day. The prime rib dinner is a great deal and pretty good. I even scored the end cut which I love. It comes with canned vegetables, baked potato, horse radish, and a roll. Was pleasantly surprised by the Virgin River Cafe. For what it is, a small casino cafe, it delivered more than I expected. We stayed with traditional diner food of French toast, BLT, and two-egg breakfast. All here delivered with friendly service and tasty food. We would return for a quick breakfast or lunch! read more

Yesterday afternoon me and my grandma and little 7 year old sister decided to try the cafe. We were immediately sat and someone took our drink order, next someone took our food order and then shortly after, My sister noticed chewed up gum pieces all over under the table of where we were about to be eating at. My grandma alerted a tall white male wearing a black mask and glasses who was cleaning the table behind us. She simply said " hi sir we'd like a new seat, " he said " yeah well I'd like a million bucks " and she replied and said " yeah we'll this has gum under the table all over. " he shook his head and said we'll come on over then. I was so furious he was speaking to my grandma like that. I said " no that was rude. We're leaving thank you. We discovered this restaurant four years ago while traveling from Vegas to Zion. They had advertisements on billboards for a $7.95 Prime Rib dinner. We stopped then and now again this year. The ambience of the restaurant is nothing to write home about, but they make good on their Prime Rib Special! The dinner includes bread, vegetables, a choice of mashed potatoes, baked potatoes or French fries. The potatoes have all the fixings...sour cream and butter. There is also horse radish for the prime rib. The service is fast and servers are on the ball. The restaurant doubled in size since four years ago. Guess the billboard advertising works! I always stop here on the way to Vegas and I always get the h and eggs the best around it's $6.99 and the h steak is 16 oz they also game prime rib special after 4pm for $7.99 that is really good. Setting was pretty cool. It didn't wreak of smoke like the Casino area, service was amazing and food was pretty good for a casino cafe.

It's inside a casino so there are a lot of ample parking. Lots of slot machines too if you want to walk around before or after a meal. The staff won't give you the special menu so you have to ask for it. $6.99 for a prime rib meal so it's not bad at all. Lots of food that comes with the meal. Either you get baked, mashed or French fries plus a side of veggies. Not to mention dinner rolls. The food itself is okay. I mean not too much flavor or seasoning so it'll be up to you to season to your taste. No coke here, only Pepsi so it's a big no no for me. ^_^ read more

I wanted to start this off by saying that their food is good enough to get you through the night or after a long day. But most importantly is their great customer service. I placed a order for my girlfriend and I but noticed when coming back to the hotel that my order was missing a baked potato. I called the cafe and a gentleman named Ed answered and was very nice and respectful to my complaint. We came for the $7.99 special on prime rib. What a deal! We were seated right away but our server didn't come for a long time. A young man frOm the kitchen caMe and took our drink orders. He was very nice and eeven helped an older lady put her jacket on. Although O didn't like that hee was wearing his glovES for everything and his name badge Waac in upside down. Never again will we eat there. We were a party of seven, four people were served in our party and the other three didn't get their food until the first four were nearly done. The waitress didn't refill any drinks or check on us. I had the prime rib dip, which I ordered medium well. It was medium rare at best, leaving the bun bloody, which i could handle if it had any flavor. The sandwich was mostly fat. It said it came with a side of horseradish, but I'm pretty sure it was just sour cream. The fries were okay, I guess. Others had the Philly cheese steak, but it didn't appear to have much or any cheese and the meat again was extremely fatty. It was just gross. The side salad did look good and had a lot of veggies. I wish I would have just had that. The condiments on the table were not clean. I hate a gummy ketchup lid. If my fingers have to get messy to pop the lid, it's a problem. I enjoyed my prime rib special ($7.99). My fiancé got the orange chicken and the texas ranch burger. He cared for neither... The prime rib cut is fatty (which I like) and the service was prompt. I also ordered the hot sour soup (Tuesday is chinese food day) and it was pretty good. Between my dish and tasting some of my friends', I tried: - River Burger (burger with cheese, Canadian bacon, and fried egg): for some reason the fried egg was huge and poking out of the burger. They didn't ask how I wanted the burger done (I usually get medium) so it was pretty well-done and dry, which made it a below-average burger for me. The side wedges were yummy with some salt, pepper, and ketchup. - Grilled cheese and soup: the grilled cheese was also pretty average/nothing extraordinary, would have been better with tomato soup. The corn chowder that it did come with was actually pretty good by itself. - Asian chicken salad: the lettuce was mostly iceberg I think but I did like the overall flavor of the oriental dressing. I was impressed with the service that we received here. In particular, they graciously made up another dish for one of my friends after there was a mix-up with it not being vegetarian. They also automatically split the bill for 11 people without extra charge, which was great. Our waitress was friendly and came back frequently to see if we needed anything. Overall, not a bad place to stop on the road for some food and maybe some gambling. Just don't go in expecting amazing 5-star food. read more

The real surprise came about 15 minutes into our meal. We decided to get a small bowl of hot and sour soup. We weren't really expecting much, so we were pleasantly surprised when the hot and sour soup was actually better than most of the hot and sour soups we have had in SGV. (For those of you unaware, that area has pretty much highest concentration of Chinese people anywhere in the country.) Not worth the time to post a review. Canned corn was served with our prime rib and ribs, had to go down to order and bring it back to our room as you can't call it in. Got it back and realized they forgot our baked potatoes. Called down and they said we had to go back to get them . . . And our horseradish sauce they didn't include, and the bbq sauce they forgot on my nasty dry ribs . . . And they refused to give me a partial refund. So back down we go, to hopefully get some mediocre, lukewarm food up here at 940 at night. Try somewhere else. Not worth the trouble. McDonald's across the street would be a much smarter option. UPDATE: We got back with the food and someone thought they would put horseradish in with it instead of sour cream. Didn't figure it out until my first bite. So disappointing. read more
