We am among other people had reservations for tonight at bamboo. When we got here, there was a sign that said that it was closed but for the day before. Spur of the moment trip to Bamboo last night for dinner. We were very pleased with everything! The place was pretty dead; we were two of maybe six diners in the restaurant. We had crab rangoon and dumplings to start, and both were piping hot and full of flavor. Our Mongolian Beef was sizzling in the platter, and super tender with lots of onions and an amazing sauce. The salt and pepper shrimp was just amazing, and maybe the best we have ever had - crispy, hot, full of amazing spicy flavor. We had seasonal bok choi sautéed with garlic, which was super crisp and fresh. The house special fried rice was perfect as well. With many less-than-great reviews, we were worried about our food and experience, but it was all terrific. read more

RATS IN THE DINING ROOM!!!!! We typically come here every month or 2 and love it. Great drinks, food is top notch. But last night might have been our last visit. Everything was going great until we were paying the bill and a rat casually runs across the dining room. That was enough for us. Told the staff on the way out as they were totally clueless to it running by but they acted like it was no big deal. Not sure if its a pet or not, but either way it was pretty disgusting. Last visit. January 31, 2025 Ordered dinner at the bar. There was a table of 5 men in the bar. They were loud and presuming they were over served as one of them had his head down at the table and began vomiting. 5:45 pm. Disgusting. We had to leave our meal, did not pay. Ordering online is a challenge, service they use is terrible Arrived at restaurant and spoke with owner. Didn't like I was complaining about service. Firstly, I always give people the benefit of the doubt as I work with the public...,HOWEVER here goes-My husband & I walked in on a Saturday night at 9:15 to an empty bar which should've been a dead giveaway, but the host insisted the kitchen was open til 10:00. When we sat down the bartender said MISERABLY!!!! that we just made " last call". Really?? He took our drink order & we placed a small food order- to go, as he wouldn't set a place for us. Bamboo in Burlington. Hadn't been there in a while. Always liked their food. I went right after 2:30 pm for lunch but ordered from dinner menu. Check was $40 for: 2 spring rolls 2" L x 1/2 diameter; a lukewarm miso soup and 4 shrimp lettuce wraps with one sauce (hoisin). Wraps consisted of 4 large lettuce leaves and a cup of a mixture of the smallest shrimp possible (frozen, no flavor) with some oversautéed onion and peppers with a side of crispy noodles(handful). I understand the price of everything has gone up and I'm happy to pay for good food and presentation. This experience lacked both totally overpriced for mediocre flavor, and quantity. I expected a variety of fresh vegetables to build into each wrap and more than one off-the bottle sauce. With so many excellent Asian restaurants in the area, you are likely to have a better experience somewhere else! I'll skip this one from now on. read more

This restaurant used to be so good. Sadly to say they have lost the magic. The only thing good in our meal was the fortune cookie. Our $46 take order was wonton soup (Mostly Broth), 6 pieces of sushi (just ok) and a chicken dish (Chicken Teriyaki with Veggies) with chicken so tough it was a chore to eat. And asked the manager who said it was a rice rock, seemed to be angry when I asked what actually is a "rice rock" he said sorry and nothing more. We came here for the lunch buffet on a Sunday. There were not many people, so all twelve of us were immediately seated. The selection is quite small, but that would be okay if the quality of the food made up for it. The quality of the food is pretty much your typical cheap, greasy American-Asian cuisine. They have lots of fried stuff to fill you up. The salt and pepper shrimp was pretty good, probably my favorite dish. My main complaint is that they were really slow to restock their food. I went up over and over to try and get ONE piece of sushi that had any kind of fish in it, but they probably stock like 10 pieces of actual sushi per hour. I had to scrape the very bottom of the ice cream tub for 5 minutes to get what they had left. They were so slow to refill the probably more expensive items that I just ended up eating their cheap fried crab rangoons and getting full. The service and hygiene were still okay, which keeps this place from a 2, but honestly I'd value their buffet at around $8 or $9. Any more and it's really not worth it. read more

I don't know what the bad reviews and low scores are because I've eaten there many times, and the food is tasty, the service is great, it's clean and has lovely decor and the prices are good. I will continue to go back time and time again. For someone who really looks at reviews and judges places by the scores, it's sad when a place that is great has such low scores. read more

Food is okay, little on the salty side. Prices have gone up like everywhere, and portions have gotten much smaller. I've been coming here since they opened but now the ratio of portions to price just isn't worth it. Service isn't the friendliest either. I ordered general gau chicken which is marked as spicy but it was more like an orange chicken tasted like the one you get from panda express. Food was average, sushi buffet was very small. It's a buffet, so you can try a lot of what they have to offer, and we did. The food was mediocre at best. Coconut shrimp and chicken on a stick were the best of the offers. Most of everything else was flavorless. The general gau's chicken was mediocre at best. Breading was too thick and soggy, not light and crisp and several times I got nothing but a mouth of gristle. This was one of my favorite lunch places (I'd say it's probably my favorite Chinese place in the area). I was a huge fan of the buffet pre-pandemic. The food is still great. We went for a daughter's birthday lunch mid afternoon on a Saturday. It wasn't crowded and the food came out pretty fast, though my sushi was a few minutes behind the other entrees it was worth the wait. one of the fun things about the buffet was all the different types of sushi; most I have no clue what they're called but they were great. Ordering from the menu was fun; I had a Godzilla roll and a Celtics roll; they were well worth the extra few minutes. I look forward to the buffet eventually returning! read more

Looks nice from the outside. I ordered sashimi and sushi. I've never had to remove scales, bones, or connective tissues from fish served as traditional sushi. I did here. All the salmon had bones and connective tissues. The mackerel had scales in it. I have no idea how the cooked / Chinese food is, but the sushi is amateur at best. read more
