The coffee was good but the wait seemed to take forever. People who ordered after us were getting drinks before us and it wasn't until waiting almost 5 minutes that they told me they were having issues with the decaf for one of the drinks. When I discovered one of my favorite coffee shops closed during the pandemic, I felt terrible until I learned they were remodeling (I later learned they were also under new management). Yesterday I called to see if they were open yet--great news, yes! But when I stopped by today, I was appalled by the lack of safety protocols. Employees were all "wearing" masks--often not tight enough to prevent them from slipping down their face while talking. Others pulled them down below their chin so they could more easily chat with one another or friends who stopped by. This is in addition to the lack of plexiglass divider at the cash register, or properly spaced tables and chairs. I watched an employee prepare the drinks I ordered with her mask below her nose, effectively breathing over my entire purchase. I threw it away as soon as I got home because I won't risk my family's health for a few iced teas. My husband and I love Spotted Cow, but will not be back to support it during this Covid outbreak if we can't feel certain that management and staff are doing their best to keep themselves and customers reasonably safe. The atmosphere and coffee were great. A lot of people come here to work it seems and the function and design of the space was well used with nice natural lighting. I don't like to write negative reviews but would like to leave some constructive criticism based on my experience there: the service was slow, and as a customer I felt that the staff were more intent to socialize with each other than being hospitable to the customer. I've worked in the service industry before as a barista and understand the importance of having a good work place atmosphere where you enjoy the people you work with, but the cashier gave me the impression that she did not want to deal with me and I was an imposition. It's really disappointing to see the ways in which the Spotted Cow has changed since I used to come here in high school. It used to be my favorite place to come study but I'm not sure I can any longer frequent it. In part, I used to come here because they made red bull italian sodas (easy to make at home I know) but they no longer make these and now only stock a few syrups for the Italian sodas they do make - no raspberry or any other fruit flavors apparently. - The wifi is not the best, you'll have to bear with slow working speeds, which is not particularly ideal for studying. Though, at least they removed the 1 hour wifi limit they had for a little while. - Coffee is expensive - I just paid $6.02 for an 8 oz vanilla latte! Absolutely absurd. And it was disappointing at that. - They've changed the design of the place to add more tables, but now there is limited access to outlets and it doesn't feel very homey. - They play their music now at a level that is too loud to have conversations and definitely too loud for anyone in here trying to study. Not sure how everyone else feels but this is not the place it used to be for me. read more

I used to love this place but when I returned for the gelato it was very frozen and tasted old. It's very unfortunate with all the changes they've made, with management and their new aesthetic and representation. It was ok! I was up in the Northern Seattle area and visited Mill Creek for the first time. Spotted Cow is kind of in a downtown area. At the time parking seemed easy which was nice! I got a cold brew here and I thought that the coffee was bit too strong and didn't quite have the complexity and smoothness that I usually like. The best part of the visit was getting one of their cookies! I got a salt and chocolate chip cookie which they warmed up and it was really enjoyable! I wouldn't mind having another one of those! This cafe is definitely my go to study spot! I love going here to study/do hw and hang out with friends. Pros: -Food & Coffee/drinks are really good! -Has great ambiance, definitely gives off that "hipster" vibe -During the holidays they decorate the cafe with cute holiday lights/decor! - Has several large/wide tables (perfect for sprawling your stuff out!) -Isn't Too loud or too quiet (has just enough background noise to let you focus) -Has indoor fireplace -Employees are very nice and helpful! When they were finally retrieved from the fires of hell they were placed on a shelf and left for dead. We let the barista know we were waiting for the rolls that were now cold and she snapped at us saying they still needed to be boxed and we needed to be patient and wait our turn even though we had been waiting there for 15 minutes. I really wanted this place to be great, but my experience was not the best. I'll start by saying that I like the interior of the building, it has a nice vibe, and plenty seating available. Now to the not so good parts.. from the time I stood in line at 8:15am on a Saturday morning, it took me 25 minutes to get my 12oz Latte served to me. In the end, I had to ask the barista to put my coffee in a to-go cup instead of a mug, because I no longer had time to sit down and have the coffee. I understand they were very busy, but 25 minutes was crazy. Additionally, the milk was steamed lukewarm, probably in a rush, so it was very disappointing. The only good piece was the espresso used is pretty good, so that saved it a little bit. I also ordered one of the blueberry scones (made by Salmon berry goods), and I specified not warmed, and of course I received it warmed... thankfully they were good enough to give me a new one not warmed as I originally asked. They also didn't seem to have much pastries even early morning which was a shame. I spent close to ~$11 for a 12oz Latte(barely warm) and Blueberry scone, and ended up rushing out the door because of the delays. I'm giving 2 stars purely for the interior vibe, and at least the espresso was smooth. Pastry was ok. Parking available around the area. read more

They're so accommodating and friendly! Everytime I come in Kaziah and Zora always know my order and always push for intentional conversations. The owner Brian is super amazing as well, he brings his dog in Bü and always has a smile on his face talking to customers to see how they are doing. When I grabbed my coffee from the counter, although I didn't really squeeze hard, the cup was squeezed in and the coffee...which was VERY hot...poured onto my hand. I had a pretty bad burn. I was in pain the entire day and after two days I have blisters on two fingers. They need to (1) control the temperature of coffee - it was way too hot. (2) use stronger cups - it's way too soft. Honestly, skip this one. I've lived in the area for a while and regularly visited this coffee shop but I'm avoiding it completely these days. In the winter months it's so cold inside I can't stay for more than a few minutes. Last time I was here, I waited for 20 minutes until my latte was ready. The WiFi is never stable, always disconnecting and acting up, I can never get any work done here. And I absolutely DESPISE their seating..cold, cold, metal chairs (an aesthetic nightmare) that never warm up when you sit down. Just awful. The owners should really consider giving this place a makeover - add comfy seating, and make the atmosphere warmer & welcoming. Amazing coffee place! This is one of my go-to coffee places because of the great drinks and the fantastic atmosphere. They grind the coffee beans right in front of you in the corner and you really do taste it in the coffee, so fresh. They provide an hour of free wifi and more if you ask. Kinda annoying since every other coffee place just gives you this right out of the gate, but it's whatever. Also, the wifi can get kinda slow if there are a lot of people there. That's the only downside, but it hasn't happened often for me. The food here is actually pretty good too which is surprising. I've been coming to Spotted Cow frequently on the weekends lately because, for me, it fits my needs as a study place. More importantly, it has coffee (more about that later) and it's got sufficient working space (unlike the Starbucks down in the Town Center). The noise level can get a little noisy because of it being so popular, however, I've never had it become a distraction for my studying. There is also live music on Fridays and/or Saturdays - which makes it a cozy place to just sip on some coffee and chill to some tunes. They also have home-made ice cream! Oh man, their ice cream/gelato is so good. They have a lot of unique flavors too, such as: Rice, Honey Lavender, Pumpkin Spice, Wedding Bliss (can't describe this one, but it's good). Their ice cream is definitely a very welcome snack I like to treat myself to! Unfortunately, I'm not feeling the coffee. At $2.25 for a tall drip coffee, it's more pricey than other coffee shops I frequent. Also, it's a little too sour for me. I understand acidity is a desirable trait for coffee, but it's actually quite sour if you drink it black. I will say, if you drink it while eating the ice cream, it's fan-freaking-tastic! Very likeable place for sure. I can't comment on the ice cream stuff, since I was only here for coffee, but they nail that part of the job without a doubt. This is a newer place built in a long series of nicely-constructed strip mall spaces in Mill Creek. It has an end space, with three continuous walls of floor to ceiling windows. Lots of light and feels very open. There's a long series of tables, couches, chairs, and gathering spots by all the windows, and a long series of bars full of coffee and ice cream or gelato or something along the back. The kids here are super nice, and the line moves quickly. We had an americano and a hot chocolate. The americano was great--lots of flavor, a little too hot at first, stayed warm a long time, still tastes good at room temp in my truck (sorry if that part grosses you out, but the coffee really is good). Good pirces--$5 for two drinks, and they made them well. I could easily see coming back to try the ice cream/gelato/whichever it was. I came out to the Spotted Cow for our women's group - we couldn't meet at our usual spot and this was a recommendation from the group leader. Because I work in Seattle, I came out to Mill Creek early to beat traffic. I am so glad I did. I had a couple hours to kill, so I ordered a caprese sandwich, Pellegrino and 16 oz. vanilla latte. They all are absolutely delicious. The caprese sandwich has a ton of mozzarella (my fave) and the vanilla latte is delectable. Spotted Cow has free Wifi and a perfectly arranged space for maximum, but comfy seating. The baristas are all very sweet. If I lived in Mill Creek, I would be here every day. We use to frequent the location near the Buffalo Farm before they moved to Mill Creek. Now I just pass it on the way to LA Fitness. I took my family and friends here last fall to get some gelato/ice cream. When the order came, my friends laugh. I looked and saw two tiny melon ball scoops of ice cream. When I ask what I paid for I was shocked. My kids are small but when a child can 1 bite two scoops...I have a serious issue with that establishment. This spot has its good days and its bad days. The bad days: The noise level isn't crazy loud (i.e. screaming kids), but it's understandable for me since its a loungey spot with ice cream/gelato and a kids area. I guess it's expected. When it's so crammed pack there is no where to sit. When the bigger tables are "reserved" and I can't sit there, only to find that no one showed up for the reservations. The one bathroom that ends up getting a line because it's one for both guys and gals. When there is a cranky barista... sorry, it shouldn't be that hard to give your customers a simple GRIN. I'll even take a smirk. One barista to 3 coffee orders, 2 people in line for ice cream and 1 person with a burning question... yeah it takes awhile. I think its a pretty large place to only have one worker. The good days: A nice, constant flow of customers. When there isnt' a birthday or award ceremony taking place next to the table I'm studying at. A yummy tuscan sandwich... it's awesome! Delicious! This darling coffee shop serves up a few morning pastries as well as gelato. It is much bigger inside than it looks and there is parking on the street in front of the building as well as a large parking lot behind the store shared with L.A. Fitness. You can enter from the back parking lot as well. The decor is charming. There is ample seating with both large and small tables. The coffee is sooo delicious and yes, you will get a beautiful milky froth design in your cup if you order a latte. I deducted one star because the prices are a tad high and they use lavender syrup rather than fresh local lavender sprigs in their lavender coffee. Spotted Cow is really cute and conveniently located in the Mill Creek Town Center. I like the open layout of the shop, even if the tables are placed close together and you don't have much privacy when talking. The staff was friendly and eager to help us decide what to order. I got an iced mocha and a pastry for $13. More than I'd pay at Starbucks, but I felt the pastry was well made and amazing! There are plenty of tables so we had no problem finding a place to sit. I had to ask three times since he was just talking with the guy at the bar top instead of working. What did I tip for if I have to keep asking for my beverage, lid and straw it myself too?
