We recently brought our son for his school exam and the doctor was great about explaining what was happening and going slowly through the process. He ended up needing glasses and there was a great selection of kids frames available for him to try on and select from. My one negative is that there is one woman in the eyewear room that almost seems bothered to be there and to be helping. But if you can avoid her, you'll likely have a great experience.

Despite being very busy, the front desk staff are incredibly kind and efficient. I showed up early for my appointment time and was taken back almost immediately to take pictures of my eyes and all of the other quick procedures I don't know the names of. The new doctor they have on staff is so sweet and welcoming. She answered all of my questions and laughed with me when I thought I nailed the vision test (I did not nail the test, lol). Not once did I feel rushed or like I was wasting time. I'm so sad to be moving in the next year because I will greatly miss this place! I've read some of the other reviews, and they don't match my experience at all. It may be because of my age, but I know what it's like to work in the service industry; having someone stomp around your office demanding free services or waiving fees always ends with a threat of a nasty review on yelp, lol. Please be kind to the people who often deal with poorly behaved-adults. Anywho, I really enjoy this place and the staff that work there!

From a terrible in-store experience to VERY questionable doctors and predatory sales practices, this place is the pits! They don't understand insurance and jeez, they can't check your eyes. I'm embarrassed that this dump has a prime location downtown. Beware and avoid at all costs (of which they have many).

It's possible I had Ricketts, but that might have been when I was younger. Everything is on time and the staff are friendly, patient, helpful, when trying out glasses or ordering or paying etc. The office/store is very clean. There is a small chess or tic-tac-toe set I've never used. There is a free water cooler in the back. Once I tried to use contacts here and they were patient as I fumbled for twenty minutes or so (to this day I still use glasses). It's right next to the Libertyville Metra station, which is convenient if you live in Chicago. I usually set aside 60-90 minutes for the time I'll be at the office when getting a checkup.

Really nice people that take their time to get it right and listen to my concerns. My first experience was great but something was off with one of the lenses. They ordered a replacement and honestly after that I had the best vision I ever remember having. I just recently upgraded again and my experience was once again terrific. Not the cheapest, but in my opinion the best value.

I was gone January and February so in March I went to pick them up and no magnetic sunglasses. They said they would reorder, a few weeks later I stopped in and still no sunglasses! They ordered them from another store and a few days later they were in but wrong color. Now I am told that frame does not have the color I want even though they were there in December.

My son is looking forward to feeling like a hipster in his new Ray-Bans, and we're thrilled that we were able to utilize our VSP insurance to the fullest. Shopping for glasses at this particular location couldn't have been easier, and it really helped that we came in knowing what we were looking for. They didn't have my son's frames in stock, so they custom ordered them. Since we had to use our VSP insurance, they will go to a VSP lab before being shipped back to the store. It will be well worth the wait, because our insurance saved us a significant amount of money. We saved hundreds. And, no upselling whatsoever. I'm so glad we found this location! The office itself was very clean and Covid safe. They took our temperatures, we filled out a questionnaire, and everyone was wearing masks. We were in and out in no time at all. I'm sorry I forgot the name of the lady who helped us out, because she was amazing and took care of everything for us...including the LensCrafters hold on our VSP account (per prior review).
